Question Error in 'failed to check sparse crc') - Redmi Note 10 Pro

Hi all
I got a Global version of Note 10 Pro.
I tried to flash a custom rom with custom recovery. I installed Teamwin Recovery and then flashed Arrow OS but it didnt boot. I waited for 30 mins.
Then I wiped everything from Teamwin recovery, copied the rom over again and flashed but now it is showing some mount issue.
I then downloaded the official rom from Xiaomi and tried to flash that from Fastboot but getting Error in 'failed to check sparse crc')
Any idea how to fix this issue?
thanks

you find a way around this?

Did you've tried
Twrp format data with yes
Flash ROM
Again Twrp format data with yes
Reboot with ignoring shown failures.. Wait until system booted

for future reference, I ended up having to download an older version of the firmware. even redownloading the copy of the MIUI firmware I was trying ( in case of corruption or something) didn't fix the issue
I had to download the previous version of MIUI (to the one I was trying to flash) and then I could update to the latest via the built-in OTA updater
no idea what is causing the check sparse error (both command line and miflashtool were giving)

Stuck at EUI: Update or Clear Data screen after flashing stock ROM

LeTV 2 X526
Title. TWRP 3.0, using this stock ROM
http://forum.le.com/in/eui_detail.html?euiid=209
Cleared data, flashed this bootloader (19S s2ww) then the stock ROM(was getting error 7, this was the fix as posted by an xda user)
http://eu.host.erwanleboucher.fr/?dir=codeworkx/lineage/s2/bootloaders
After flashing, TWRP says no OS installed even without any errors.
On checking system partition size in backup, size is 148677334MB (???)
On rebooting anyway this error occurs http://www.leeco.re/topic/1262-stuck-on-eui-update-system-clear-data/
but since the zip file is not named update.zip the phone is stuck here....
Please help. Thanks!
Dude, install TWRP by codeworks
Copy the official 5.8.019s into internal memory and rename it to update zip
Flash the stock recovery
Update the phone from the update option, while in recovery mode
I have noticed that you need to have any kind of ROM installed before you begin to update from the stock recovery. SO in this case just flash any custom ROM from codeworks TWRP and follow the above steps

OnePlus 3T Android 9 Pie Decryption unsuccessfull

Dear xda members,
I recently installed the Oxygen stable 9.0.2 on OnePlus3T
The phone was unlocked, rooted and with twrp 3.3.0-1 installed
During first boot after installation, I received this error:
Decryption unsuccessfull
The password you entered is correct, but unfortunately your data is corrupt
The only way to continue is a factory reset (but I would like another way, if possible).
I was able to revert to Oxygen stable 5.0.8, but the error persist.
Is there any procedure to access the encrypted data partition and recover files stored in it, before wiping all?
Thank you.
Kind regards
you need to do a factory reset from the recovery menu. You will lose all your data but its the only way.
You should totally flash the 5.0.8 fw after flashing the offical pie OOS. It has been discussed in the official thread here at XDA.

Thank you very much for the information!
This is what I did
1 Boot recovery and press cancel when it asks for password
2 Adb push needed files in /mnt
3 Flash the rom (OnePlus3TOxygen_9.0.2_28_OTA_082_all_1905110010_f09a2bfe8e361d.zip)
4 Flash the firmware package (oxygenos-9.0.2-bl-km-5.0.8-firmware-3T.zip)
5 Flash twrp 3.3.0-1 again in the recovery partition
6 Flash Magisk 19.2
7 Wipe cache / dalvik-art (with errors related to mount storage)
But I found the same error of the first post. Which is my mistake in the procedure?

You could have flashed the firmware first, ROM second, but I don't think it would have changed anything.
We used to have this problem with the closed beta and with the open betas as well.
Once you wipe your storage, flash Pie, boot it, it doesn't happen again. I've been to Nougat, then back to Pie, no issues.

Can't access twrp 3.4.0.1, H870

Hello,
I've installed twrp 3.4.0.1 via fastboot, but after I select yes when i'm asked about erasing my data, the phone just boot up normally without deleting any of my data, but does not enter twrp either. Tried 3.4.0.0 too, no luck. Only 3.3.1.0 worked, but when I try to backup it says something like 'can't mount system partition' and some other errors. I think that version is too old for my rom, so I'm afraid to use it for backup/flash. My phone is LG G6 H870, Android 9, software version V30b. The phone is not rooted, the bootloader is unlocked. Tried to erase cache partition and install twrp 3.4.01 again, didn't work. I can't install Skyhawk or Orangefox becuase I can't use twrp.
Is anybody facing this problem too?
Thanks!

HI You need to use OrangeFox recovery or SkyHawk. If you plan to go to 10, then you need SkyHawk. And I think SkyHawk is maintained but OrangeFox not.

So can I install SkyHawk via fastboot over stock recovery without installing twrp beforehand? I see there are multiple files in the shyhawk zip, should I only extract the recovery img and install it via fastboot? I'm kinda new to this, thanks!

HI. It is made to flash in TWRP (same as OrangFox) So I really don't know if that recovery.img flashing through Fastboot works. Never tried, sorry.
Maybe someone knows though.

Ok, thanks, I'll try to find a solution, or maybe I'll just wait for the next version of twrp.
You should try installing the recovery and immediately installing any custom rom, when i flashed twrp the first time i had to do it several times cause somehow it got "erased" every time i noot the stock OS.
Ig you don't want to install a custom rom try right after installing twrp and on the fastboot screen to reboot to recovery with (Volume - ) button and power.
I think the idea is not letting the Stock os boot
Also that error. i have the same problem, the only moment it doesn't appear is when you wipe all data with the "Format Data" option inside "Wipe" menu in twrp.
After you boot to the OS once and go back to recovery it will come again everytime you flash something.
Not sure if its a problem or not, because i've dirty installed some updates and also installed gapps and magisk even with that error.
Im currently in A10 using Havoc and NikGapps.

Yes, I know I have to install twrp again every time I let the stock rom boot, but the only version of twrp working is 3.2.3 and I think that was released before the G6 received official Android 9 update, so that's why I'm not very confident using it. I've tried to enter recovery immediately after I've installed it, so I don't think that's the problem.
I have the same problem on the LG G6 H870. I won't get to TWRP. I tried several versions of TWRP and nothing.
Edit.
This twrp is functional:
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=289997
After installation using fastboot, restart directly to twrp using power+vol. down.
Finally i've successfully flashed Skyhawk using TWRP 3.3.1, so thanks everyone for advice!
Still couldn't make official TWRP 3.4.0/3.4.0.1 work.

Hi, I don't know if this goes here, I hope you can help me, I update twrp from version 3.1 to 3.4 and now I can't access twrp, how can I fix it?
Hello again, I answer myself, and if it helps someone else, using adb fastboot with twrp 3.2 Melina solves it and twrp works perfectly again.

Question Can't install custom roms after MIUI 12.5 china port (Redmi Note 10 pro India)

So I was using evolution x for a few days then I saw this MIUI 12.5 china from and tried to install it. I wiped Dalvik, cache and data then flashed the room. Unfortunately, I forgot to install magisk after that and just formatted data. I got stuck in a boot loop. Then I went back to recovery (orange fox) and it didn't recognize my internal storage (showing 0Mb). I tried installing another rom with OTG and I got this error "failed to mount system_root (no such file or directory)". System type was showing "f2fs" so I changed it to ext4. After that, I wiped everything(including internal storage) and installed the miui 12.5 china rom again then flashed magisk and formatted data. It booted and is working fine. But the problem is that recovery still doesn't recognize storage and I get the same mount errors when installing any other rom than miui. I also tried with twrp recovery but same result. So I'm basically stuck with miui and can't install anything else.

Redmi Note 9 Bootloop to recovery - help needed

Hi all,
I have a rooted redmit note 9 that was running the stock rom (EU version i believe as i am UK based) perfectly well for several months until today when then latest over the air update installed and my phone is now stuck in a bootloop where i can only access the custom PBRP recovery (installed from when i rooted previously). I can also access fastboot. I have tried wiping all data and cache etc, i have tried reflashing the magisk patched stock rom that previously worked, i have also tried flashing vbmeta that i flashed previously but still no luck. This is my only phone so I really need to get it working again.
I was about to try re-flashing the stock rom with SP tool but it tells me the scatter file is invalid.
Not sure what else to try now. I also note that when i PBRP loads up it always asks for a password however i dont have a password on the device.
Please could someone suggest something i could try?

your devices is encrypted try flash other custom rom first then try revert to stock hope it help u out
Thanks very much for your response. Based on your advice i tried to flash the latest Kraken 11 Vanilla rom from this fourm, however after installing via TWRP now i can't even get into recovery anymore, just goes straight to fastboot.
Any other suggestions please?
I have now managed to get back in to TWRP and tried flashing lineage latest rom but still i am stuck in a boot loop taking me to fastboot this time.
Please can someone help suggest hwo i can get my phone working agian. At this point i dont care which rom i end up (custom or stock) with as long as i can get it to function again
If your device is rooted, you can NOT update the system using the OTA (over-the-air), or the device will be stucked in bootloop.
If your device is rooted, you need to update the system MANUALLY, using the fastboot or spflashtool.
I suggest to update the system using the fastboot.
Now, you need to flash the whole MIUI again, except userdata and you will have your device back.
For anyone with a asimilar problem i eventually managed to fix my issue by using miflash tool version 20180528 and flashing merlin_eea_global_images_V12.0.10.0.QJOEUXM_20210413.0000.00_10.0_eea_c4a9d5d7fc fastboot version which i downloaded from the xiami site.
I had to try this multiple times because the extraction of the file did not seem to be correct on the first attempts.
