Hi everyone,
is there somewhere an android alternative custom rom for our phones ? Like Lineage or else ?
I am not a big fan of emui nor harmony OS. And I would be very pleased to use a stock android or a light custom rom.

Definitely not, that requires a rooted fone first and foremost. If you're not a big fan of emui or harmony why get a Huawei device?

Because there is no competition for this phone (hardware wise) today. It seems to me to be the best phone to date.....and i could live with some software limitations. But I was hoping for an alternative rom :/

Anyone knows releases emui 4.1 for p8 lite
I would hope for emui 5 with android 7 nougat,I dont feel like emui 4.1 will make such a difference.
Sources say that this will be released in Q1 or Q2 2017 but we dont know whether it is emui 4.1 or 5.

It had some new cool features, now im on sakoban's rom because i bricked my phone while i was on 4.1, i had only old backup of sokoban's

Okay some of you will have seen the meticulous made various builds, cyanogen 13, beanstalk 6.25 and lineage 14.1 for his p9 lite. The chipset is the Hi6250 exactly the same as the honor 5c. So these builds install and run just as well on either phone. Now my question is, could you install the latest p9 lite firmware(with emui 5 + nougat) on the 5c??? Obviously it won't be that simple and I guess you'll need to use his modified twrp recovery you flash it.
Does anyone know if this can be done and explain how??

Hell no.
It is different with the CM builds - they are written for Hi6250 and the Huawei/Honor originals are made strictly for a product. You can't even use Nem-22 on Nem-21 because of the basebands and stuff.
If you want Nougat use tread by Schizmatyk.

am i only one who thinks honor 7 lite is good even on android 6? sure emui 5 has better theme imo.

I Decided to sell my Mate 10 Lite ... Cause i can not unlock my bootloader anymore.... so weak forum.... so weak Devs and Custom Roms..... if you want to find out just look at samsung or xiaomi or one plus forums and how they are active....

Kind of hard to dev anything on a device where the manufacturer does everything to stop you from doing that.

yes i agree too, i used xiaomi redmi note 3 before and untill now still active form dev. unlike this device and my note 3 is much faster gpu unlike this kirin. h6250.

I have asked them for pie update but their answer was that there is no plan till now to get pie update, so i used the unlock code which i have got it last year before may 2018

You have to keep in mind that's not an exact answer. While I would be more than happy if this device (including some others such as mate se, honor 7x) get EMUI 9, seeing as how all of those devices shipped with nougat and already got oreo (one major os update) there is a very high chance these devices won't experience EMUI 9. Hopefully it does though. So far the only devices i know that have kirin 659 and shipped with oreo (haven't received one major os update) are: Huawei P20 Lite, P Smart, Honor 9 Lite and Honor 9N.

Yes so i'am using custom rom till the official 9 released
Huawei started Beta testing program for our P smart in China. That includes only the chinese models for now. What do you think guys? Will be the EMUI 9 released globally for P smart?
It has to receive Pie as P Smart is Android Enterprise Recommended device and Google mandates at least one major update for such devices

Yes, it doesn't matter if they have their skin over the Android they have to have one major update. Good thing is that P Smart came out with 8 so it has to be updated to 9.
When i had LG G6 people had the same concerns if it will receive 8, but then Google added G6 to that program and LG had to update it.

Probably not, but if you're phone was rebranded you may be able to sign up using their beta program

P20 Lite just got working beta, I am using it right now and since the phone is almost exactly the same as P Smart 2018 I guess there will be a beta soon for it

Ok, But you can unlock the bootloader. You just have to get the Code. I have now get the Code. But i want the Android 10.
It is really sad that it has to do without the latest version. Was really a great Smartphone.

i use EMUI 9.1 in Mate9, but emui 9.1 no good, very slow and lags, no good.

Same as for any GSI type image.
i install Aosp 10 in my mate9
good but I didn't find it so fast and fluid,
has lags and delays, it was supposed to be better than Emui
I already uninstalled
