Well it's only got 4gb VRAM. That was my biggest issue with it.. it's a good card but it's not going to be suitable for new games in the feature

to be honest if you want a custom pc, and if you are planning on upgrading it, get a better power source.. at least 800 watt..

edit. the proccessor isnt that good either.. look for a quad core, pretty chaep now but still look for a AMD rather than Intel cos they are cheap and just as good

instead u should get an amd athlon ii x3 4XX series cpu and lookout for a good mobo that can enable cores and l3 cache on the cpu that have been shut down by default (its just a matter of setting in mobo's bios) , that way ull get 4cores for the price of 2 , if ur lucky maybe some l3 cache too(lesser chance but if it works out cpu is then identical to phenom ii x4) ... gotta love amd
but even if it doesnt work out , u get x3 instead of ur x2 for what , $10-20

as I am on a bit of a low budget and I would like to put a graphics card in it Preferably as cheap as Possible from ebay. There are literally thousands on ebay ranging from .99p to lots of pounds. Was wondering if someone on here could help out a oldie Truckdriver who is confused by the terminological and point me in the right direction of a good grafic card from ebay please.
Thanks.
Go for an ATI graphics card.
-Remember, Android hell is a real place and you will be sent there at the first sign of defiance-
Depends what usage do you want... If it is basic gaming then go for anything at all...but if you want high end gaming like criysis etc then more you spend more juice you get..don't compromise on brand as cheap ones might get over heated and blow up.

In that case a 100$ or so card shall be good enough, both nvdia and ati are great... Is you have AMD cpu then go for ATI always a good combo, if you have intel both are good enough.
Hope that helps.

Well go to asus MSI gigabyte etc site loobk for ATI gfx cards for AMDs and then look at the best bewt prices on ebay, besides you can post a couple options here and maybe we can help
What's your max budget? Look for the ATI / AMD 5770. It's a solid choice, and extremely good VFM after the 6 series release.
A Tenner if I can get away with it on flea Bay
I dont think you can. The cheapest 2nd hand cards I have seen so far on eBay are going (not yet gone) for more than that.
examples:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Gigabyte-HD55...raphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item1c1ce86362
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/graphics-card...raphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item3cb9be1221
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ASUS-Radeon-E...raphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item20badfde96
Anyway, hope you find what you are looking for in that budget. Good Luck. Remember though, at that price, don't expect too much.
Thanks 3xeno. You have pointed me in the right direction. I dont mind dropping back a spec or 2 from what you have suggested to get a decent card on the cheap

The CPU or the graphic card processor?/
Would you care to make some suggestions as to the spec?
Both. Civ V is DX11 capable, and getting a DX11 card will go a long way for your enjoyment. My rig (Phenom II x4 945, 4GB RAM @ 1600, 6950 unlocked to 6970) still stutter when running a HUGE map with several AIs towards the late game. The bottleneck was my processor and RAM. I'd suggest that you use an x6 processor with 8GB RAM if you are serious about playing large-scale strategy games.

Building my first PC. Critique for my build please!

Hey all,
Been using XDA for a while now for my GNex and GTab10.1, but I've got a PC question for you guys. I'm looking to build my own PC, and have done as much research as I could to make sure I'm picking the proper, quality parts. I just want to run my build past you guys to see if anyone has any suggestions, or if I'm spending too much money on a certain component, etc. Also I want to double-check that everything is compatible (Can I use those 2 monitors with my GPU? Do I need a miniDP-to-DVI adapter or can I run one from my MOBO? Will everything fit well in my case?) I'll be using the computer to multitask with different types of software, along with some gaming.

I wouldn't recommend Crucial M4 SSD ( at least for now ) since it's having random freezing issue and it's taking forever for them to release a new firmware update.

thats pretty hardcore hardware right there
If you go with and AMD cpu it will save you money, I have a 3.2GHz dual core (i believe) and it's a good one. mind you I think the total for my computer came out to almost $900.
and I think for the HDD western digital is usually cheaper and it's really all the same. I have western digital and I'm most likely gonna buy a green HDD 1TB; I saw one for about $90 which I think is a pretty decent price. I've seen those seagate barracuda ones going for about $10-20 more
Personally I LOVE the Kingston HyperX SSD's. I have one in my desktop and I have never had a single problem with it. I tried both Intel and OCZ SSDs and they both failed on me.

I've been using my OCZ for a few months now with no problems... Running my systems and as many games as I can fit off of it and it's been great. One note to make about SSD's (in case you don't know, if you do, hopefully I'll help someone out) but you never want to defragment because this adds unnecessary writes (which kills the drive) and you'll gain no performance. Right after I installed windows, i had 25% fragmentation.
As far as your build it looks solid. No matter what you get, you'll hunger for more haha. Make sure to get something crossfire capable so you can crossfire your Radeon if you want to expand the video life of your PC. You may want to look at upgrading your power supply to at least a 750 if you ever plan on running another video card.
I just built a new rig a few months ago and I used Asus's sabertooth 990 series since I went AMD Bulldozer ^_^. 16gb of G. Skill ram DDR3 1866, an Nvidia 550Ti and a 120GB OCZ SSD. So far there has been nothing I've thrown at this PC that it couldn't handle. Skyrim, Deus Ex, SWTOR and Diablo 3 all play at full settings all AA turned on.
What are you paying for that setup if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for all the tips guys. That GPU only has one DVI out on it, and my monitors only have DVI in... Will I have any problems if I run one monitor through the DVI port and one through a MiniDP-to-DVI adapter?
As far as memory goes, I'm just going to start with 2 DIMMs and buy 2 more sticks if I feel like I need it. The programs that I'd like to run to multitask include Ableton, Photoshop, a couple medium-high end games (at max settings, of course ) a stock-trading platform, an internet browser with several tabs (though Chrome hardly sips any memory anyway) with MS Office stuff. I really want to take advantage of dual monitors!

I recently shelled out around 12 or 13 hundred for my setup, but didn't get anything for storage besides my SSD since i had 750gb worth of storage that I migrated over from my old machine. I'm an AMD man myself, and I'm loving the UEFI bios on my ASUS Sabertooth 990FX. The software that ASUS includes with the board allows you to monitor Also, you can't beat 8 cores I was able to overclock using the stock board settings to 3.9GHz on my 8120 FX proc. Its only 159.99 on newegg right now and all FX series are black edition proc's which means complete control over your proc settings. I'm using a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo for my CPU cooler. Its pretty big, so if you look into this cooler make sure your case has room for it, but im running a steady 34C and haven't seen it go above 40. Some people report as cool as 18c.
As far as your Video card, there are tons of cards out there with multi DVI support, you may want to look at another manufacturer, as I don't see you getting true video performance out of a usb adapter. Although I've never used one, I suspect it will be a huge bottleneck.
Here are a few images of the AI Suite included with the Sabertooth 990FX (used splashtop to grab them since im at work hehe)

No asus service centers near my home but they are really good in terms of performance.
Acer Chromebook's works a treat....
A used Dell from a known good refurbisher.
Some Dell laptop's live their whole lives in companies as desk computers. They're replaced with lots of life left in them (except the hdd).
Picked up a Dell E6400 3 years ago in excellent condition with 4gb of ram for $150. Slammed in a 1 tb hhd. Total cost under $300.
Bonus, got the W7x64 OS... the last good OS MS released.
Still run great. Eventually had to replaced the battery and cmos battery. Today I'm installing a 1tb data drive in the bay slot.

Yep, I just got this Asus when it was on sale for $1149.
Not really a gaming laptop but it has an 11th gen I7, decent GPU, and a 4K OLED touch screen. For the price, I couldn't find anything else that even comes close.

If you get a brand new one in a factory sealed box, I don't think you're going to have to worry about a service center being nearby.

With no lead solder $hit happens...
The only thing I don't like about my new Asus is that it only has one USB port. Even on my cheapest laptops, I've got 2 or 3 USB ports.

I like the fast tranfers but an extra internal bay is nice to have.
Just put a 1tb 7200rpm hdd for the OS and a 2tb data drive in my Dell e6400 dinosaur. Going to upgrade to 8gb of ram next and call it good.
Getting data in and out is a bit slow otherwise it runs nicely on W7x64.
Paid $135 for it less the hdds and had to eventually replace the main and cmos bat.
