Skype 2.0 for Froyo

Does anyone know how to modify the OS to report that the phones one of the very poor selection the lazy people at skype could be bothered to make it work with?
Or would it require a mod to the app itself (same question who knows how to do this?)
Thanks in advance
Maybe modifying the build.prop? Just a guess!

The problem is that the contained native code .so's seem to contain NEON instructions which the Tegra 2 can't execute.

If everyone took that attitude, XDA forums and the like wouldn't exist because we'd all be sat waiting for HTC / LG / Skype etc to update software...
These forums exist because the developer community can usually make things work better than the software vendors or before the software vendors.
This has already been hacked to work on the Galaxy S and S2.......

[MOD] Google Now fully working [ICS]

Hey guys, I just found this and thought since not everyone here knows it, I tought I share it with you
This is Google Now for our Device! It's fully working (voice too) and works on ICS. Just scroll down to "Flashable ZIPs" and take the M7 in the version you prefer
Check out the post right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29756226&postcount=2856
I am NOT taking credit for anything since I didn't made the mod!! Don't thank me, but thank reekotubbs, MikeyXda and Lenny_kano for making this possible! Search down the original thread and thank posts of them

I am low on /system memory because I am on revolutionary
So if you're on revolutionary and a sense rom, check your /system free space before flashing it

I tried on Project X 4.1 and it works great But the cards just show up when you type or speak English. German voice recognision worked great, too but it didn't show any cards... I'm not sure if that's the way on all languages

This was working for me for like 5minutes and later it gave me an error that google has now stopped working. It forced closed on me. My IncS is running on MiUi Rom. Guess the /system partition is not that big. Can we increase the size or its not possible?
Works for me! I have the commute notification this morning too!
Seems to be stable and voice is working online and offline for local (phone) searching.
It does however think it takes 25 minutes to travel 12 miles, guess Google doesn't know I have a motorbike!

Works on ice cold dsandwich. My language is Danish which is not supported by voice search yet, so I will have to wait and see, if there are any real benefits.
I have to use the voice search widget. The normal (better looking) quick search widget or the Apex persistens search bar only works as before.
I had to turn on voice search to get it working, then turned it back off again. Seems to still work fine
The phone seems more sluggish now, but I will give it some time to settle in and see how it goes.
Anyone else have this experience?
Seems like it doesn't work that great on MIUI... Maybe the partition is a little small?
I have the same issues as everyone is having on MIUI, but I have over 100 MB free on my system partition, so I don't think that's the issue. I have posted the relevant logcat in the main thread, hopefully someone there can help
I have just removed it. Seemed to be using a fair bit more battery than I'm used too.

[Workaround] How to get quick reply on stock TW messaging app

I know many people love the quick reply feature of CM messaging app. Well now TW users can sort of enjoy that also!
1. Download Floating Notifications (AWESOME app developed by XDA member @crazyfool_1).
1B. Enable FLoating Notifications in accessibility (you will be prompted to do this anyway).1C. Make sure you are on version 1.5.0.2 (main menu of Floating Notifications app... More--->About) and have a card named "Extensions".2. Download Floating Notifications SMS Extension (keep in mind this is still in alpha stage!).
2B. Request to be in the alpha testing group for SMS Extension. If that link doesn't work, then GO HERE and on the left click on the "Extensions" tab.3. Push the SMS Extension APK to system/apps & set permissions (RW-R-R).
4. Reboot.
5. Go to Floating Notifications and then into extensions, then check SMS Extension.
6. Go into settings check "quick reply overlay" to ON.
7. You now have quick reply for TW messaging app (or whatever messaging app you use it will work for!) and you can also mark as read as well!

Phone Recording!!!

Hi there,
I have been trying to get phone recording app to work on my hand set but apparently Motorola had disabled the possibility on their OS! I'm furious!
Would there be a Cyanogen or something that I could install that could fix this issue? Mine is a vitara
Thanks in advance....

Replacement contacts & dialler

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good replacement contact/dialler app for the phone.
I've testing the following but still undecided. The app must support the following
dual sim (prefably also support different ringtones per sim),
must allow ad-free at reasonable price,
must work independently of stock dialler and on a stock unrooted rom.
Must work with smart view case
Has continuing development
Slowly narrowed it down to following choices (no specific order), but has anyone used theses and if so can you provide feedback on then and whether or not the paid services are worth it.
Simpler
Contacts+:
Truecaller:
Drupe:
CallApp:
Thanks
Google's one works pretty well, but usually requires root to work.
I remember Truecaller being handy due to its spam protection. It was also fairly clean.
Don't forget to get a call recorder. They're good for customer service calls. Etc in case you forgot some detail or need to cover your ass. ACR is good for that with Dropbox sync.
