Redmi 9 Network - Redmi 9 / Poco M2 Questions & Answers

My phone frequently changes from the 4G network to the 2G network (E), and sonetimes lost the signal.
In my position, the mobile signal is very good. So...
I have tried to change from the networking menu * # * # 4636 # * # * to force, but in the end it returns to the same GSM / WCDMA / LTE configuration and the error persists. Any solution?

[internet settings] hsdpa / 3g only

Could'nt find it with search, so here is my problem:
- i get free 20mb 3g-traffic each month free
- my phone connects not only with umts but also with GSM/GRPS
how do you disable the use of gsm for a data connection?
thx for an answer
*bump*
nobody got a clue?
You seem to be able to set it to UMTS only - I've just tried it.
Obviously if you lose the 3G / HSDPA signal, you won't get any calls / texts coming through as it won't automatically switch to GPRS.
Menu >> Settings >> Personal tab >> Phone >> Band tab >> Select your GSM / UMTS band (choose one that is your UMTS band only, not UMTS & GSM).
SV
hm...
that should suffice as a temporary solution. i do not want to get calls with my 3g-only rate anyway. even if i think that it's quite complicated to switch between my sim cards with all the extra settings.
so: thanks!!
ok i tried to do that but it didn't work
i only have 2 options:
UMTS(900+2100)+GSM(900+1800)
UMTS(850+1900)+GMS(850+1900)
GSM(900+1800) is common in germany. dunno the umts band :-/

Another hidden menu?

A friend of mine shared this with me on FB and I am not sure wether people actually know about this or not.
But I pressed * # * # 4636 # * # *, selected Phone information and then changed my network type from "WCDMA Preferred" to "GSM Auto(RPL)" which supposedly should save some power considering we dont use WCDMA here in Denmark.
But there also seems to be other options available. But did others know about this?. Because this is the first time I see it.

This is the oldest trick in the Android book.
Xmoo,
That might be so, but noone ever told me about it. And do note that I am not claiming its anything new . Just enquiring if others knew about it.
Make a custom shortcut to an app called 'Testing' for easy access.

could anyone tell me if we use wcdma here in the uk?
Yes, it's 3G.
CDMA = No
WCDMA = Yes
Go figure.
WCDMA is not 3g. I have GMS preferred set and are oddly enough able to initiate a 3G connection . Or it might just be something else here
WCDMA is 3G, and contrary to the above, you do use it in Denmark.
GSM Auto (PRL) will still get you a 3G connection as the point of the PRL (preferential roaming list) is to let the phone know when it can use 3G.

Yeah, 3G isn't just for data, voice calls work over it too.

Unlocking "Only LTE" mode in Honor 9 lite

Hi friends, we all generally hate it when network automatically switches to the mode in which phone gets strong signal. I mean we really don't like when phone automatically switches to 3G or 2G mode from 4G when the signal of 4G is weak. Since there is no "Only LTE" mode in our device (Honor 9 lite) we need to enable it. How good it'd be when we could enable it without rooting.
Here's the process:
1. Download "Settings Database Editor" (attached below)
2. Open the app
3. Find "hw_networkmode_preference"
You will see its value like "9,3,2,1"
4. Edit this value as "9,3,2,1,11"
5. Save
6. Reboot
Now go to settings > wireless & networks > mobile network > preferred network type
You will see so many network options unlocked.
Select "LTE" to stay in LTE mode no matter how weak 4G signal you have there.
* Root is not required*
Hi, I have got Honor 9 Lite Indian version but when I am using a US based SIM, only Data & text are working and I cannot make & receive calls. Appreciate if anyone could guide on how to resolve this.

Try typing *#*#4636#*#* into your dialer and trying to turn on 4G that way if it's off.
