Question Touchscreen totally unresponsive after custom ROM flash - Redmi 9 Power / 9T

Hi all,
I flashed several custom ROMs A11 (Arrows OS, Pixel Plus UI, Dot OS, crDroid...) and ended up each time after successful install with no touchscreen... With Xiaomi.eu ROMs I have no problem.
I use recovery and clean flash.
I wondering if any body might have an idea ? I don't seem to find this problem in other threads...
cheers

A guy on YouTube said that there are two types of touch screen panel for redmi 9t fts_ts and nvt_ts according to him fts_ts is ok for custom rom but nvt_ts only support miui rom.
If you want to check yours you can download Device info HW from play store and check which type of touch screen you have.

Questions and Issues

Hello !
I have some question, hope that you can help me.
1. I want to install the Xposed module but i want to knw if it's stable on the Mi Mix ROM.
I'm asking that because i came from a Xperia Z Ultra and the Xposed module wasn't that stable...
2. I want to change of ROM, how can i perform a clean install and kepp my actual apps, is there a way ?
ANNEXE : I encounter some issue on my Xiaomi eu ROM, hope you can help me to find something
Here is my problem :
1 - The first one is my fingerprint sensors works 1/2 on the lockscreen, it's like that since the stable update of the 14 jun 2017. You need to know that the fingerprint sensor works well for unlocking app and else..
2 - The research function doesn't work at all, I have an error (cf : video). whatever the choices that i make the problem will still the same...
Can you please help me ??
Best Regards,
LordBli
Sorry, I wish I could help. I to want to root my device so that I can flash custom roms too, but I've all but given up on that. I don't know why you mean though, when it comes to your second question -
"The research function doesn't work at all, I have an error (cf : video). whatever the choices that i make the problem will still the same..."
Xposed works great on MIUI 8 (8.5) (Android 6)
If u want keep MIUI or change ROM to pure android :
Universal method >
1 - Titanium backup 'but need some permissions for MIUI to works and need confirm manually for each apps who will be restored (MIUI and AOSP/LOS)
MIUI specific >
2 - MIUI integrate a similar function in backup/restore item in settings under factory reset (work like a charm too and no action is required > MIUI only)
Both store backuped elements in internal storage then u can easily clone it on ur desktop !!!

First of all you have to unlock your bootloader then flash your recovery, here is a link that might help you : http://en.miui.com/thread-424221-1-1.html

Without additional information, it's quite difficult to assist.
Firstly, you came from the Z Ultra. I too purchased the Mi Mix to replace my Z Ultra, with its stock firmware being stuck on MM and the aftermarket support not being brilliant the Mix was a suitable choice. However I had no issue with Xposed on my Z Ultra, perhaps your choice of Xposed modules was the problem???
If you haven't unlocked your bootloader, then you need to do that first. Bear in mind, once unlocked you will lose all android pay functionality.
Which Mix do you have...? Mine is the 6GB/256GB variant, and certain system modifications only work on the specific versions.
Have you flashed TWRP, if so which version?
In answer to your first problem - remove all fingerprints and re-add them. On some of the stock miui.com firmware releases, it doesn't migrate fingerprint information correctly.
In answer to your second problem - you *should* try running the current weekly release from xiaomi.eu:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/xi.../files/xiaomi.eu/MIUI-WEEKLY-RELEASES/7.7.20/
If you are running *stock* firmware, you *will* need to factory reset.
-----
With regards to your "research" problem, I assume you mean the global search from the phone (If this is not the case then let us know what you mean).
Again, I've not experienced issues searching the phone since changing to the xiaomi.eu (weekly) global firmware which is based on Android 7.0 however Xposed support is minimal.
If you want to change firmware, unless you change to the same build structure then you won't be able to keep your current data.
e.g. stock miui.com firmware to xiaomi.eu firmware.
In this situation, root and titanium backup is your friend.
Thanks for your answer, it is really helpful !

The only change I would personally use on a mi-globe firmware would be the three-way reboot menu, however that can be substituted with an application.
IMHO, I don't see any real reason to use "their" firmware as all they're doing is tweaking an already good release by an established team of developers

Any ideas for the fingerprint issue ?

[Fixed]Auto Rotation issue on Custom ROMs

A while ago, I unlocked my K20 Pro and flashed HAVOC OS 2.8 Custom ROM. At the begining, the Auto Rotation was not in option as it wasn't working and I thought it was a minor bug it would be fixed in the next build... But when I got sick of that and because of some other bugs, I headed to other Custom ROMs to see if it was going to be fixed... Unfortunately, in every single one of them(RR, PE), the problem is still present... Are you facing the same issue? Is it possible to get it fixed?
Edit:Flashed system.img + vendor.img + persist.img and after CrDroid with GAPPs! All sensors seem to be fixed except front pop-up camera plus the Bluetooth has issues(connects but no media output)...
Fixed:Good news everyone! As I was trying a lot of things, I ended up with the phone only booting to fastboot mode... No recovery was allowed to be flashed or booted unfortunately... So, I decided to bring it back to stock using Mi flash tool and the flashable ROM I chose for Mi flash from the link below! As I was on fastboot mode, I selected my device on Mi flash and also selected the extracted folder the flashable ROM(also the batch file flash_all down in the right corner, above selected the selected flash all dotted option... WARNING, DO NOT CHOOSE FLASH AND LOCK)... Then, I waited some time for the process to end and so it did(don't worry if there is any checkpoint error in the mi flash). When it boots up, you will see 3 buttons in Chinese... Hit the lower one(I tried all the first two but I think I had no touch on them).
After that do the regular setup chosing English language! I remember I was given an option to calibrate the front camera and it was then I heard some strange noises, like them you here when you try to force close the front camera by hand... Anyway, I opened the camera app after the setup completed and choose to calibrate the front camera! So it did! After that if you want to flash any custom ROM (of Android 9 based), you have to wipe dalvik/art cache and data only... Then try flashing the desired ROM and GAPPs... Once the process is finished, reboot again to recovery if you want to flash Magisk... Then boot normally into the ROM and you will notice all sensors are working perfectly!

I don't think it is an issue with my device... There is no way those sensors got destroyed after unlocking the bootloader, because before I do that, they were all functioning very well on MIUI(and also I had proper auto rotation)!

Brother your persist partition got corrupt...
The same thing happened to me while installing that rom
You have to reflash persist.img in persist partition to make your sensors work again.. flashing other roms won't help in this case
Even flashing miui via recovery won't help in this case ...
Either you flash the fastboot rom or you can reflash the persist.img via twrp (L.R. team twrp
This will fix your problem for sure

Ok there is no Chinese signs or app.
you can check software version...
if its ENCommon something its Global ROM! China not-Global ROM is CNCommon ...
then there is 2.03 for EU & Asia Global ROM and if its 1.03 its North America US Global Rom!
no updates yet available!

I can't transfer the update file to the phone. What to do?
i'm pretty sure you cant flash ENCommon vs. CNCommon.. thats locked...
you can try to flash twrp first..
after that, i would format everything.. then take a backup of every partition just in case.. also try to get the CN Commonfirmware before dooing anything, just in case you brick something.. you can also look into the unbrick thread here... some dudes have tried that allready and stuck afterwards in unbooting phones...
after all precaution you can try to flash the ENCommon rom.. but as far as i remeber what i read in the other threads you need to flash only some partitions... like system only or so... not boot ... but just read!
Update.
I flashed twrp then global rom 203
Success.
All good.

1. Can you do the adb on any old windows pc? I have not used windows pc/laptop in years but I have a very old one (i mean old motherboard, old specs) at home. Can I do adb in that pc?
2. Will using adb on global version block ota updates?
3. Isn't vivid n.g. better because there's an in-app toggle to bring back the 3 buttons (if you need them for whatever)?
Edit:
Can you bypass the need for doing adb by installing a fullscreen Immersive app (with gestures app) ?
Will it work?

Question Owners of the Chinese version who have upgraded to the European.

Please, everyone who could upgrade your Chinese Mi 11 Ultra to global or European firmware, please describe the sequence of actions:
1) what version of phone you flashed - 8/12/256 or 12/512
2) what soft did you use to unlock bootloader
3) what version of new firmware you choosed - Global or EEA (European)
4) what mode of ref lashing did you use - "three dots" via upgrade menu (recovery) or fastboot
I think this thread will be beer useful for many of us
Thank you

there is none in the whole 52 pages topic on xiaomu.eu? Im also curious about your questions. I wanted to flash my phone in next two days after unlock bootloader.
I done it today, didnt check my version though before flashing. I updated with the OTA yesterday and flashed the latest stable 12.5. There is safetynet issue with that at the moment due to Xiaomi not certifying it but i fixed it with magisk.

Yeah it's working
V12.5.2.0.RKACNXM is chinese ROM, not EU or global ROM but it's good think to know than even on CN, it's possible to have multi languages and Google apps support integrated.

Isn't safety net broken so Google pay and banking apps? Won't be fixed until Xiaomi does something right??
If true I'd rather stay on China ROM until that if resolved. I have no issues at all with my China ROM.
Good thread ! We need it for now.
So first version of global rom is not safe !
I was reading all that 54 pages and I noticed that you have to update your phone software via phone settings. After that it should be compatible with xiaomi Eu rom (flastboot flashing). Also don’t use that miflash...do it
Via standard command prompt method.
(The XiomiEU Rom is based on a Chinese rom but it have such a big change log is crazy ! Is polished so well that is better than global)
thats what I understood from all that pages....but again I would wait a little bit....

I already updated to the latest OTA; however, I am still left with a Mi 11 Ultra stuck in fastboot.

Hi Axel, got your pm there too. (MobileMadeSimple) I didn't do anything special. Made sure was on latest update. Unlocked bootloader. Skipped through setup etc. Went to fastboot, ran the bat as administrator.
That was it

You can install a GSI, there's a thread steps here in the 10 pro forum.
But for an actual ROM , no there aren't any ROMs for this OnePlus device as yet and if OnePlus / Google have their way then there never will be..
But we can hope that someone can manage it, the issue is the lack of a complete recovery tool, namely MSM.
Unfortunately all roms for the 10 Pro are MIA (missing in action)!

Completely AWOL I'd have said
I've a feeling one or two will drop though.
In regards to flashing a ROM we should be fine with recovery and fastboot.
It's just getting it to actually boot.
If we had TWRP we'd be golden, but there lies the issue..no MSM no way to recover.
But then again, we wouldn't need to flash TWRP only boot it so there's minimal risk in that regard.. guessing TWRP development hasn't even begun.
Such a shame man, it's a stellar device with a tonne of promise.

why is that?

Combination of reasons, like no source code, no MSM took, Developers need to buy device, etc.....
I am sorry if this has already been asked (I ’ve searched all threads back to April and haven’t found deidcated one for kernel sources) but what’s wrong with these https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-10-pro-kernel-source-code/ ? Are they incomplete or sth?
