[Q] Phone memory partitions

Hi everybody!
I've been reading here on the forum that the GT Note phone memory has 12 partitions. As a beginner I would like to get a correct understanding of the matter, therefore kindly ask for your expert help.
1. Is this correct that the phone memory has 12 partitions?
2. If positive, please, can somebody name these 12 partitions and their destination / use?
3. When wiping the system, which partitions are touched by factory reset, cache wiping, Dalvik cache wiping, system format?
4. When doing a normal restart of the Android phone (system reboot) is the RAM memory automatically erased, just like on Window Mobile phones? Or is it that system reboot does not clean anything?
Thank you!

How to delete all files from storage, after install CM from MIUI

Hi,
from MIUI 8.2.0 global stable I have sucessfully installed CM 13.
Before the installation progress and after flashed TWRP3020 on the first window from TWRP, I have choosed to maintain a specific place "read only". I was insure, so I decided to do so.
Then I wiped the system with TWRP. I choose Dalvik, System, Data and Cache. Just in internal storage I didnt mark to wipe.
I have installed CM13 and Gapps. Everything goes fine. But the Theme-Designer (where to choose themes) allways fail to start. In another Mi5 pro (2 pieces here) I have made all the same like in this one, and the Theme-Designer starts normal.
So I find, that in my storage, there are many old files from MIUI. They are not deleted and I understand why. Because I didnt mark in TWRP to wipe the internal storage.
So I gone to the settings in CM to reset to factory settings and made it. After starting the phone I saw, that all the folders are still there.
Now I am affraid, that something in the storage makes the Theme-Designer crash. I dont have another explication.
And after the installation I made today a update OTA to the newest version of CM (08.09.16) and the problem continues.
Is there a possibility to make a real clean install, wiping all the storage without to buy a USB-Stick to put there the install files for CM13 and Gapps? Or not?
Or ist there another way, to wipe the data storage? If I would make this with TWRP, I think that CM wouldnt start, because the folder "Download" would also be deleted. Or is there another folder, that is protected, to put the files there?
And I also had problems with bluetooth with MIUI with my Volvo. And with CM13 the problem continues. Maybe it has to do with some old files from MIUI, that are still in the system.
Can someone help?
No idea? Or a good link?
After I have installed CM 13 and Gapps, what happens if I go in TWRP and choose to wipe internal storage? Do I have after that a clean install without traces of the old OS or is all gone and I cant boot?
You can go back to TWRP and wipe internal storage, you'll still be able to boot into the ROM.

Internal Storage of my K20 Pro is empty / can't open or see any folder/file

I just flashed the updated EU rom and wiped via the TWRP recovery. When I connected my phone to my PC, the internal storage was empty and I can't move any file or folder from my PC to my K20 Pro. I also realized certain Google apps can't be downloaded/updated as well mainly Google Chrome and Gboard.
Any fix for this?
Thank you

Create a partition to save Photos/Videos

Hi Everybody,
since the Mi 9T Pro doesnt have a slot for SD-Cards, is it possible to create a partition where i can save all my Data like Images and videos?
Everytime i try a new ROM, i have to restore all the Data and it takes so long...
With my old Note 5 Pro i had everything on SD-Card, so there was no problem when i changed the system.
So, is it possible to create a partition on the phone where i can save those things and which is not getting touched when i install and test a new ROM?
Thanks and regards.
No you can't do that
use cloud storage if you want
You can change your rom without formatting internal storage. I've successfully flashed some miui and aosp roms, vendors and stock roms with twrp and miflash (going from one to another) without having to format internal storage, only data in twrp or save user data option in miflash

Formatting is different from wiping.
And, formatting data erases both data and Internal memory, doesn't it

Internal storage is held in the data partition, so formatting the partition will erase internal storage. Wiping data, TWRP will keep internal storage but delete everything else.
That is new for me.
When i wipe "data", my Photos and Videos will not be earased?
When i wipe "internal storage", my photos and videos are deleted?
I can suggest to install this app if you need to wipe frequently
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kdrag0n.tipatch
App notes:
"Make TWRP include internal storage (photos, videos, downloads, etc) in backups!
WARNING: wiping Data WILL also wipe internal storage, contrary to normal behavior. You have been warned.
TWRP Data backups do not include Internal Storage, which is the emulated SD card that stores your photos, videos, downloads, and more. This means that in the event you transfer phones or completely wipe data, all of that is gone! Users must resort to error-prone manual backups instead."

Just follow the instructions on the miui.eu page.
Installation via TWRP:

it's not a problem. Redmi note 10 pro/ max doesn't have official twrp yet or any other reliable decrypting method.
what you have to do is use an external sd card or a pen drive through otg.
1. reboot into recovery
2. install > 'select storage' at bottom-left corner.
3. select usb-otg or micro sd card
4. select the rom file
5. install
6. reboot into system
you might have to format your data before the installation of new rom.

others might be able to answer your question. I'm not so expert at this matter.
what i understood is you can take backup after you have formatted your phone through recovery. because formatting decrypts internal storage. and then you can take backup of boot. dtbo, cache, modem, esf etc from recovery. but of course, formatting data wipes your internal storage.
what i did was -
1. take backup my data (images, videos etc) in pc.
2. backup and sync through google backup
after that im usually good to go.
Ok thnx man

you'll need to format your data meaning you would need to back up your current files.I recommend uploading photos to google photos and your files to google drive before formatting.
