Screen protector that fits like the OEM one? - OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Accessories

Hi all ,
long story short after a year of owning this device i decided to change the plastic screen protector that comes with the device since it was peeling off and had different scratches , i bought one off of amazona and the thing doesn't even fit over the screen part of the device let alone the front of the phone , it just sits there about 3 mm from either side .
Now i like the original protector's size , it covered all of the screen area and a little more but i can't seem to find it sold anywhere .
Any help?

Love the Diamond, But the screen????

Is it just me not being careful enough with my diamond?
Because it does not take much for my screen to get scratched.
Compared to my htc touch, there is a big difference.
I already needed to buy a tube to try and polish the scratches out.
Waiting for my screen protector to arrive and hope its better then the one from brando because i had to wash it and then i just never got it clean again.
could not get the fingerprints of it and always left some water stains (even when i use a blow dryer)
This is the only thing which disappoints me and also surprises me!
Anyone els noticed this?
didnt u get a oem screen protector in the box?
as posted just now: haven't you applied the screen protector, since this is a different type of screen then your previous phone there is a reason it is being shipped with a screen protector!
I ordered a thicker screen protector when I placed my order. No scratch what so ever and the phone is almost all the time accompanied with my keys or lighter ...
I did get it but i messed it up by accident...
and i also received one with my htc touch but i did not need one for that phone.
it did not scratch that easily.
So because of this i thought i would not need to order a new one, now i see i was wrong.

Where did you get a thicker one? I have the one that came in the box on my Diamond just now which seems fine - but I also messed up when putting it on and its slightly squint. I would like to get a replacement - but the HTC store are only currently selling them in packs of 6!

I know what you mean /sigh
HI,
I've managed to get a few small scratches on mine.
Can't think how. I always carry it on it's own in a soft pocket - the same pocket I used for my old Orbit 2 and Orbit & Jamin before it etc... none of which ever scratched.
Was even being careful while I waited for a better screen protector...
Seems to scrtach quite easily...
So, does anyone have any ideas on how to minimise effect of/repair small scratches? There are plenty of solutions for plastic screens but I can't find any reliable advice for the Diamond (or the iPhone for that matter - I searched for iPhone as it has a similar hard glass screen and has been around longer)...
All ideas welcome!
Thanks.
The screen protector looks exactly the same as those bundled with Vario II and III and I must say it's rubbish. I bought 2 from Taiwan or China on ebay for a quid inc. shipping and they are a bit thicker and they don't descrease the quality of colours as the standard ones.

Scratches

Hi guys,
I have some minor scratches on my screen (2 to be exact ), but I was wondering, when I buy a new front cover, does that also include some kind of plastic window? Or are HTC's touched by the LCD itself and do you need a new screen when you have sratches?
Please enlighten me
Aren't you using a screen protector?? If you are you just need to change the screen protector itself.
If you've scratched the touchscreen itself (as, out of the box it has no protection on it) then I'm afraid it will be a replacement touch screen (fairly cheap)... but you shouldn't replace the whole LCD unit (hideously expensive)!
I bought a secondhand kaiser with protector from the factory on it. But it was old so I decided to take it off and order a new good one. But then i discovered two (minor) scratches. I'm doubting, the new touchscreen is almost cheaper than a good screenprotector, but opening the screen means opening the whole entire phone .

Well, screenprotectors can be very cheap (and reasonable). - just depends what you're looking for. In my experience it's always been cheaper to buy a good quality screen protector for a different device and guilotine it down to size. Here in the UK, locally, I can get a pack of 5 good quality matt screen protectors (which are better than the shiny ones when you're out on a motorbike in bright sunlight!) for about £5.99 but as they're designed for a digital camera I need to trim about an inch of each one lengthways.
If you do need to replace the touchscreen you will need to open the phone... Can't really help on that one as I've only been playing with the Kaiser for about 12 weeks and have not (unusually for me) cracked it open.
I suspect it will be just as rugged as my original Hermes though!
Whatever you decide - good luck!
Maybe I just put my Whine modus to off and ignore the two scratches that arent visible, only in direct sunlight at a certain angle . I can feel them though with the stylus, but I hope that will be over with a new screenprotector.

[Q] HD7 Gorilla Glass?

Hi,
Can anyone help? I've been trying to find out if the glass used on the HD7 is Gorilla Glass (or an equivalent). A student of mine showed me how to drag a screwdriver up and down a Desire HD screen with no affect whatsoever, so I'm hoping the HD7 is built of the same stuff. I'm also rubbish at putting screen protectors on
Cheers...
YT
From what I was told at Mobile media, It is a gorilla screen/equivalent.
Why don't you try the same with the screwdriver and let know how did that work out for you?
LOL.... Why do you care dude. Personally, I use a full transparent sleeve for my device which is not silicon or hard plastic, but fixable. This cover, does not allow the screen to touch the surface when the phone is put screen down. So I have removed the screen protector.
So, if you have something like that, I guess you are fine without the screen protector. I usually put my phone in my pockets which have my car keys or coins and my cig lighter and stuff. They never scratched the screen.

... I've never scratched any of my phone screens but was hoping to get away from the faf of fitting screen protectors. I mostly use a leather pouch unless I know the phone is safe in a fleece pocket.

... think I can stop being paranoid, but it would be nice to know what screens they use. Most other manufacturers tell you.
Thanks for your reply
Unfortunately, im not sure what its made of but ive already scratched it from standard keys in pocket
No HTC device use gorilla glass, an equivalent, maybe, but not the actual trademarked GG.
Thanks for all the replies... looks like I'm going to have to fight with those damned screen protectors again

The best screen protectors I know of are from Zagg and Bodyguardz. They are both Military Grade. From experience I would choose Bodyguard. Zaggs are easy to find in stores though. Use both a screen protector and hard case, it goes hand in hand.
I never used a screen protector on my HD2 and it is completely scratch-free. I don't have one on my HD7 either and again, no scratches.
Having said that, I have a golden rule of never putting my phone in a pocket together with anything hard (oo-er!). My keys always go in a different pocket.
Glass is generally quite hard to scratch though.
It'd be really cool if they made phone screens out of a slice of man-made white sapphire like they use on Rolex watches. That stuff is the second hardest transparent substance known to man, second only to diamond. Mind you, that might put the price up a bit, my Submariner was over three grand....
I had my HD7 since it came out, no screen protector, no pouch, no scratches at all.
Well, my asnwer is a little late, but...
Corning lists the HD7 (along with many other HTC phones) as a Gorilla Glass devices.
I can't post the link since I'm a new user.
But check out corninggorillaglass[dot]com/featured-products
Although, my HD7 already has scratches. It had them after about a week. Just from having it in my pocket.
Really..
I was trying to find that information out also, funny that Corning lists our HD7s as having Gorilla Glass because I have micro scratches on mine also. Hmm....
My HD2, which they list also is smashed to pieces from a drop of about 2 1/2 feet on the ground. Either the glass isn't as tough as they say or somewhere they're dropping the ball on certain phones (USA maybe?).
Cyph
HTC phones were never listed has having GG before until recently. Leads me to believe that the ones use by HTC are not the same because I seriously doubt some of the earlier phones have em. It looks like they pretty much just put their whole entire lineup on there.

My HD7 picked up a tiny scratch after 3 days use. The screen scratches, period.
Buy a screen protector and forget all about what make of glass it is, its glass which needs protection.
Im considering getting a HD7 (To replace my Motorola MileStone) & the screen is my biggest concern
Can the HD7 take a hit or survive a fall ? without the screen being shattered into pieces ?
I knew some who dropped his HD2 & the screen got shattered & it costs (eql. 300 USD) to fix it in Saudi Arabia , which more than the price of a new HD2 these days
I can't have a sensitive phone like that ,especially coming from Motorola MileStone (now thats one tough phone , you won't believe what my MileStone survived)
I really like the HD7 (& the Windows Phone 7 platform) , but if thats means I've to replace the screen every time the phone falls from me , I think I'll better off with a Motorola Atrix running Launcher 7
Thanks for your help

The screen is glass, yes it will shatter! Best suggestion is buy a good case.
little random...but i suggest an anti glare, matte screen protector to everyone! pretty awesome....and its drastically eliminated finger prints, hated having to wipe the screen all the time.
I have dropped my HD7 3 times so far, but I have an aluminum case from pdair. Has totally been worth the case. Otterbox also has a commuter case. I think with the right case they're ok.

I personally think the build quality of the HD2 is better than HD7. Since the HD2 is a completely candybar, doesn't like the HD7 on the top and bottom part. I dropped my HD2 several times, put to the same pockets but there was no damage that can be seen clearly outside. But that story doesn't happen with my HD7. One drop to hard surface, on the pockets as daily use = one noticeable scratch, one small dot crack inside the screen + damages outside.
Make me want to have another phone right now, but there is no point to buy a Windows Phone right now since the Mango come with Skype and front camera, maybe a better CPU...

The glass would need to be capacitive touchscreen capable I think?
Would be interesting/good if that is true.
Samsung service centre told me before that the original amoled screen, touch panel and glass comes as a single unit/ part.
Hope you are right.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
The capacitive touch panel IS the glass. You cannot order any glass and place it on top of the screen. You need a touch panel, and yes, they come as an assy with the screen.
For 100% You will need a touch panel.
i still have the touch on the screen and am still able to use the phone i know its a oem screen from samsung as the screen was new when got it from shop ... funny how people jump the gun and think that somethink that (cant be done ) can be done im happy to go on fb ring txt and everything else on this phone with the glass OFF!!! and is 100% useable can even upload a video to youtube and will show you lot wrong hahaha whos larfing now ..... my ass you need to go out and buy the whole lot ... no you dont as i have showen you . the way i found out was i had a old samsung i9000 and it was busted to hell . so had a go at taking the screen away from the bk and saw that you have the screen then touch panel glued together then the touch to the glass so i fort with my working i9000 (with cracked glass only) i start tapping away from the front and there you have it . it started to work and then atm to stop me from scraching the touch sheet coz its not glass its like a soft plastic i am using a screen guard and its working a charm .... show me wrong people but im sat here with the glass off my phone and phone still working . i give this job a 9/10 on hardness tho so good luck
glass can be replaced pic shows touch still on screen
in this pic i have showen were the touch ribbon is still on to the touch screen as people still dont believe me that this can be done lmao

hi, if anyone is still interested. this is really pssible, ive separated the outer glass 5 min ago. used a thin sheet of plastic and the heat of a hair dryer. it took me an hour to do so
The glass would need to be capacitive touchscreen
Funny how people can't seem to be able to read.
He's PROVEN separate glass to be the case, it's not a question.
Now whether or not a new glass can be fitted onto the old capacitive layer just like that remains to be seen...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
i can CONFIRM, that the outer Gorilla glass is just a tempered glass thats glued to lcd/digitizer assebly with transparent silicone-like glue. the touchscreen works 100% fine without the gorilla glass. ive ordered the replacement for outer glass and will report back when i get it and if it works right with some video footage. unfortunately i wil have to wait for it for about 3 week, because its located in china
Did the new glass worked?
Hello there, since I recently got my glass look like a willow tree at the late autumn (dropped my Galaxy S and the glass is all cracked up) but the touchscreen is still intact and fully operational and working flawlessly I am interested on your progress to know if it's possible to fix just the glass and to get eventual information on how you did it if you succeeded with replacing just the glass, info on where you got a new glass and stuff would also be much appreciated in case your homemade repair worked. Thanks in advance.
Any news? The ten days should be over now....

IT IS POSSIBLE... but i have failed
Last days i have finally try to change only the glass on my i9000. No success, but i was very close.
After i have clean the remaining glue from the glass that i buy i have follow the steps from the youtube video from post before. I mention that S3 glass seems to be more flexible and the glue a little more soft.
I have warm up the display surface but not to warm (after i remove the main-board and other).
After i have started to take the glass piece by piece with my swiss multi knife (big mistake)
I have proceed with careful until i have started to be more and more sure at me, and, as you can imagine i have make the big mistake - broke the display.
I don't know if in glass removing process or when i have try to remove the remaining glue with a microfiber tissue i have press a little to hard and i broke the display (a little rift).
I have failed but i am sure if you have patience and more appropriate tool you can succeed.
Please take in calculus that without the glue between the two parts the screen is more reflexive and the contrast is not like before. There is no electrical connection between the touch and the display.
Now the touch under the rift on the screen is not working anymore and the phone is almost useless. The top part of display is working perfect!
Sorry for my english and here is some pictures:
Nice

[Q] Display scratched / broken solution?

Hello. Like 1 week ago i had an exam and we did put phones in a class.I finished exam,i took phone and i went home. After 4-5 hours, i was using my phone and i rotated it to be in landscape and i saw that display is scratched / broken.Possible to be scratched because i feel a line on top phone (not on display) near samsung watermark,or possible to be scratched + broken.Let's say that is a scratch. In that day when i saw it,this scratch was up to half the screen in the diagonal. After 1-2 days, this scratch went until bottom left (in diagonal) lol. So,I'm thinking that is broken, but I'm not sure because it feel just like a scratch. The display is working fine,i don't have any problems.
So,my question is,is there any solution to make scratch "invisible",to dissapear?I saw on youtube some videos with i**** or other phones, but i didnt tried,in one of the videos was used banana lol.I won't buy another screen,i think it will cost around 100€...I wanted to sell my phone for like 100€.But now with that scratch...
PS: If i could find the guy who did this...I will request him 250€ (the amount which i paid for s advance),i will broke his phone and i will punch him
Rob, there's no real method to remove a scratch or fix a broken glass... The only option available is to change the touch screen part (dangerous for display if you are not expert) or the whole assembly (touch screen+display+middle body)
I remember once I had "Displex" paste, really fixed scratches but it's only for plastic (like non-touch phones), basically is a polish paste (don't use on glass, otherwise will be full of scratches)
My advice is: punch him if you find who did this
Inviato dal mio GT-I9505
Unfortunately that is not a scratch but a crack. Our display is composed of 4 layers. Display, touch, silicon, gorilla glass. Your glass is cracked. Fact is that you can buy glass really cheap (10e) but technology/tools (needed to remove and apply silicon) to replace it is not cheap. You could try to find out if anyone in your city does this kind of repair but I doubt that they will charge less than 50e. Good thing is that crack will not affect function of your phone in future, but obviously you cannot sell it for 100e any more.
