General Pixel 5a seems waterproof-ish - Google Pixel 5a

Dropped her in the Yellow Breeches while fishing. About 2 ft deep quick running stream. Took about 10 minutes to find (it got dark and AOD was face up).
Worked perfectly right away (prune fingerprints never work) and until I got home an hour later, then saw this message. Still working perfectly fine at the moment, but will wait it out.

Same detection/response capability exists on the 4a which offers no moisture protection. Mine got inn the way of a toppled water glass (light splash) and immediately displayed this message. 15 min later was good to go. Could still use phone during this period, although I opted not to.

Nice feature... My 2xl got wet, no message though. When the battery was low, I naturally plugged it in and of course it cut off immediately. Now it only charges on certain chargers. Would have been nice to have that warning.
So, my "lesson learned" is, if your phone gets wet, do not plug it in until you are sure it is completely dry!

Pixel 5a is not waterproof but it is water-resistant. its rating is IP67 which survives fresh water up to one meter for 30 mins max, so you're good to go.

My kaiser got wet last summer in the rain. The leds worked quite strangely for couple days, but works fine now.
why do people think its a good idea to turn, or keep, their phone on after dropping it in water. that is usually why it stops working.

Yess'! ahahah
Ok,
I've try some things...
led blue always fixed
1) wifi switched on = strong regular white flashes every second
at the same time
2) BT switched on = blue light emitting small flickering...as if stopped for a infinitesimal moment the blue light..
the electronic part that drives the LED is damaged, always switch on...
Someone can show me pictures of the area below the leds / speaker (photo, link)
Thank you
Yeah!
After more than 4 months my blue LED back to blink again.... incredible!!

Won't Charge in OEM Cradle

(This is separate from the Empty Battery, Can't Charge issue)
Sometimes when I place the Gear into the cradle (in correct orientation) for a charge, nothing will happen. The watch is on, the battery is not fully depleted.
It's very frustrating.
Anyone have any thoughts?
I had a similar issue recently. I didn't think it was charging, but after 15 minutes on the cradle it had gained significant battery level. I rebooted it afterwards and it acted like normal when charging.
This has happened to me a few times recently. Opening and closing the cradle seems to fix it. Sometimes a few tries is required.
I've noticed the gold on the contacts on the watch are wearing out and the contacts are starting to get dents in them. So I think the cradle is not making a good connection all the time. Seems like the contact material is too soft and cheap...

Wow, are those just dirt or actual dents in the metal?
Mine looks brand new, and still doesn't charge.
Dents where the gold coating has worn away. I've had it since October last year and have charged it every day, sometimes twice a day.

That's very interesting, so you're saying that is actually charging even though the Android OS doesn't indicate with the charging icon.

I'm saying it could be the case. I felt mine getting warm and noticed a significant jump in battery power in a short time. If it is charging, it won't take long to prove it.

Review: Aukey Wireless Charger Charging Pad Qi-Enabled 360 Degree Rotatable...

Hi all. I purchased this from Amazon and it arrived yesterday. So far, it's just awesome. Small footprint, feels very sturdy, holds phone securely and allows you to adjust the angle it sits for optimal viewing. I did not notice my S6 Edge getting unusually warm like others have said about other chargers. For the money, I think it's great. Any questions, let me know.

A few questions for you:
** Are you using a case with your S6 Edge while charging?
** Do you have to move the phone around to find the sweet spot to get it to start charging?
** Does it hold the phone well if you have the charger angled a lot?

Hi. Thus far, I only have a thin plastic screen protector-ish thing on the back of the phone, but I am guessing it won't work with a case on very well - if at all. I imagine it depends on the case in question though. I have not had an issue where I had to find the sweet spot at all. I place it around the middle of the back and it just works!
I do have a case arriving today though, so I will test it out with the case on and report back.
For $25, I am very pleased so far. So many others were upwards of two to three times the cost (although some were cheaper too). Hope this helps.
EDIT: Okay, so my new Kavaj Tokyo case arrived and to my surprise, not only does the charger still hold my phone, it charges it through the case! Now I really love this case!!

Looks like this is no longer available on Amazon. Here is one on eBay:

Overall quality of the Note9

Hi all
I'm fairly new to XDA and this is my first post so go easy on me plz So i preordered the note9 and ever since i've had it i've had nothing but issues with the device. First, it was the camera unit buzzing and struggling to focus. I took it in to my nearest Samsung store and well... the overall ordeal was unpleasant. I was in and out of the Samsung store 4-5 times in a month and it took 10 days for them to come to a resolution, but thats not the point. After i had the phone repaired, 2 days later my S-Pen broke. I was taking it out and only the clicker part of the pen came out. Instead of taking it up with Samsung and wanting to avoid having to leave my phone at Samsung again for 'inspection' i decided to fork out the dough and purchase a replacement S-Pen. Now, my phone is exhibiting signs of either burn in or display uniformity. It is extremely visible, when displaying dark images and considering i use 'night mode' indefinitely its really hard to avoid. I even notice it in the Game launcher, notifications tab, settings menu, even in games and apps such as spotify or Youtube.
It really sucks having paid $1500AUD :crying: for a phone that severely lacks quality. I just wanted to know what your experience with the Note9 has been and if you're experiencing the same issues as me. What course of action should i take? I really want to demand a refund.

The only issue I have had so far is in relation to video calling. I'm not sure about the built in video calling, but when using FB Messenger or Google Duo, it is extremely poor quality, and eventually drops the call, disconnects data from the network and refuses to reconnect it for at least 15 minutes. Verizon can send diagnostics to the device and they say it still has a "background" data connection, but that doesn't really help me much. This has been occurring as long as I've had it. Even after flashing multiple OEM's, resetting things, etc. Only thing to do is have it replaced, but since the back has scratches now, it has to be through insurance. Other then that, there have been no problems.

I think the Pixel 7 is starting to be a fire hazard, 2nd degree burns in seconds and google offered me $133 trade in.. lol

"And it burns burns burns the ring of fire."
I'm fairly certain that's a magsafe compatible case charging ring reason than it is a "Pixel 7 [itself] is starting...fire hazard" device issue/reason....
You're lucky Google is giving you anything for it....that is most definitely not Google's fault as a manufacturer; there is no way this is a Samsung Note 7 exploding issue nor has there been any news/public statements claiming anything like it -- I'm fairly certain you may have misrepresented it as such, but they still sent something to appease you, so I imagine you should be happy at that (even if it doesn't quite cover all the medical bills that have resulted by this)....
Yeah, I understand the phone got hot causing the magnet to heat up but it wasn't designed for this. Depending on how that magnet works in relation to things like reverse charging, that wasn't something Google implemented to be used. If it was a factory Google case then I would understand. Like I said though I do see your point. I would suggest anyone who's able to root, flash a custom ROM like lineage and you won't deal with any of these heating issues. Android 14 also runs a lot cooler because it doesn't have the issue with pixel launcher anymore, at least it seems that way so far.
