I’m on att but I wanna get an unlocked one. Is all Verizon devices unlocked from the get go? Sorry I need some help as I’ve been searching for a few days now but I need the experienced help

How much internal storage would depend on your storage needs and how long you expect to keep the device. On a 256GB device actual space is around 200GB when system memory is deducted. The 512GB variant is hard to find, Samsung's US website doesn't offer it in the Verizon or Unlocked Models. I saw only one new unlocked on ebay at $2000 USD. Unless you're in a contract with Verizon or you need mmWave you might consider switching to Tmobile. Samsung US has the 512GB variant with no trade-in for $1380 USD.

Thank you. I actually found a 256 s21 ultra for 750. It wasn't an easy find but I found one at brand new too and so far I'm not regretting switching from an iPhone.

if you dont what we are talking about.....please leave it to the EXPERTS as my question was addressed to.
I am no expert but the 128 and 256 are S. Korea only at this time, no word on if or when they might be for sale elsewhere.

my question was in what site will it show up... if it ever do.
and BTW the 256gb is already available on ebay to be shipped internationaly...but only the single sim
Ah, so we're talking grey market. In that case first will be eBay but which outfits are hard to guess. One of those will likely be reasonably reliable, seems like the international phones didn't get the jump US phones did though, my FD didn't ship until Friday.
Krabman, Where did you get your FD please?

I saw that one but it's missing a couple bands. Looking for the UK Dual SIM as it seems to have all the bands the US does....
Krabman! Is JTBC Legit? Do you have your phone in your hand? Is it an FD? Is there any issue with region lock on the FD?
Thank you!!!!!
I answered your PM but I can get back here if others are interested, phone arrives tomorrow, it shipped on the 9th but lagged in customs for a few days.
Thanks for the info. I ordered one from them as well, but I wasn't able to view the model number. I hope it is an "FD".
I would be curious to see which CSC this phone will have and if you will be able to use Samsung Pay with the US sim card. I have a S8+, supposedly with Taiwanese CSC and can't use SP - it requires a Korean sim card.

It's not FD, it's single SIM, Korean model, it's clearly stated in the description.

Yep, it's FD, both SIMS in and working fine. No, it's not region locked. Yes, it's a carrier phone. No, you are not stuck with useless bloat, it's stock Sammy but downloads a few apps during setup which you can delete. You didn't ask but you'll be glad to know they threw in a US Samsung charger.
I'm not sure if this constitutes taunting or not but I haven't been on Sammy since the Note 7 and I'd forgotten how many features they have salted all over the place. I've been screwing around for hours and still haven't got my setup in yet.
Oh, one other, other thing. I didn't see any way to enable LTE on both SIMS, it seems you can do either one but not both together. Isn't an issue for me but that bugs some people although I don't recall ever having a phone that could.

Note 8 256GB & Dual Sim?

Hi Guys
I'm looking for a dual sim phone but keep finding phones where the 2nd sim tray is also where the SD card is used, so I have to pick one or the other.
I've found this model of the Note 8 and am considering buying for use in Canada: https://www.eglobalcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-n9500-256gb-dual-sim-deepsea-blue.html
Can anyone confirm that this is definitely a dual sim phone as information on different sites are mixed?
Thanks!
Hi there, all the duos versions (dual sim) use the storage sim slot as a dual purpose - so yes, you will need to choose whether to install 256 GB external storage sim, or second carrier sim. However at 256GB of installed storage - does this really present an issue? Interesting website - thanks for the link. Not sure about that model number but they don't have 256GB duos in Orchid Grey.
Thanks for the reply.
The fact that the phone has 256GB internal storage means that the sim slots aren't an issue. I just wanted to check whether this version was dual sim as I'm looking for one phone to use a business and personal line on.
I prefer the look of the blue too, so I think I'll bite the bullet and go for this one.

I don't know if you noticed but that phone is the Snapdragon version... I like the price better than the one I just bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...var=572001194802&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 but this has Exynos and Orchid Grey and I don't want to wait any longer... LostinCanada,
I'm also waiting for the same seller to provide it , but I did not order it yet because once it is 28-29 September, this variant ( The hong kong 256gb dual sim ) will hit Hong kong markets and more sellers might sell it , may be with better prices.
But Please keep us updated once you get it.

I had inquired with this seller & he said it is snapdragon version. As per me Exynos is 1.7GHz whereas snapdragon is 1.9Gz. Plz check again the specs.
If u check Note 8 in wikipedia it says Exynos: Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz M2 Mongoose & 4×1.7 GHz) Cortex-A53 (GTS)
Snapdragon: Octa-core (4×2.35 GHz & 4×1.9 GHz) Kryo.
The link u paste in ebay shows 1.9GHz. Means it is snapdragon.
OMG!!! Thank you for pointing this out! Grrrrrrr..... Now I don't know where I am going to buy this darn phone. I have requested a return. I am so glad I didn't find this out two weeks from now. If anyone knows where I can find a 256GB Note 8 Duos Exynos version (with unlocked bootloader) I would be grateful!

Are you sure that the original link I posted isn't for the Exynos version? I cannot find where it specifically states it but it looks like it may be the Korean version (256GB & Blue), which are Exynos?
I did send a message to ask but got a vague reply with a copy-paste from the product page, they clearly didn't have a clue what I had asked!

Sir... im sure it is an snapdragon version. Exynos version is single sim but 256GB memory. SM-N950 is korean exynos version.
Sent from my SM-N920G using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Thanks @maheshhtc. Now I am in an argument with the Ebay seller, who is claiming it is Exynos version. I tried calling Samsung but they only give information for the phone sold in the country you are in. I did find out from Samsung in Hong Kong that the "Hong Kong version" is actually Snapdragon: http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/support/model/SM-N9500ZVGTGY#downloads. On this site: https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-sm-n950-model-number-differences/ I had referenced N950FD which is Exynos, but didn't notice the seller's ad that it says F950FD and I can't find any reference to this model online, except for within his ad.
So many variations of this phone! Is this an "undiscovered" variation or a typo on his part?
If anyone is looking at buying the phone in the Ebay ad let me warn you the seller says he takes returns, but now is claiming I must pay him the 12% deposit he paid to the Hong Kong Samsung supplier. I hope this isn't going to turn into an Ebay dispute - the seller has 100% good feedback so I wasn't expecting any problems.
******UPDATE:
Well, it is now officially a dispute/investigation. The model number in the ad doesn't match either Samsung HK, or the Asian version I am really after (I think!): SM-N950FD which should be Exynos, 256GB, Duos, and I've heard mixed rumours re unlocked bootloader. So the ad is either a typo, new variant or fraud. I guess I will know in a few days. Ebay says they will support the return in any event because the seller never put any stipulations re returns in the ad. BUYER BEWARE!
I will post any updates as I get them.
In the meantime, please advise if my desired phone, in Orchid Grey, is available to purchase anywhere!

Hi Tonyspurs,
Thank you but that is a single sim version. I want Dual Sim, 256GB (internal), Exynos, unlocked bootloader. Sigh so far doesn't exist apparently.
*****UPDATE:
After several interesting communications back and forth with seller, the seller finally refunded the money for the phone, but not the shipping. Another call to Ebay finally took care of that - but I will still lose some money on the currency conversion. Well, that is officially the most money I have (almost) spent on a phone before... LOL. I was disgusted with Note 5 specs and then foiled by the Note 7 debacle - it's just plain mean to be teased with this elusive Note 8 and not be able to actually buy one!

It now makes sense to me why he yelled at me when I enquired whether his model was Exynos or not (he told me it was Snapdragon, but a day after yelling at me, advised he could get the Exynos variants in but not in Orchid Grey.) I think you have saved me some trouble - so thank you Just from my experience with the Note 7 debacle, 100% positive feedback doesn't mean anything - my seller got all his negative feedback deleted and I had to twist many arms to get my refund.
Please let me know if you stumble across Dual Sim, 128/256GB, Exynos Note 8 in Orchid Grey as that's the one I'm holding out for also Good luck!
Wow! I wish I had had that information to give Ebay to add to my complaint. The seller kept changing his story - including that he had told me he was selling two versions (he hadn't stated that) and that the version he was selling me was Exynos (in grey!). I see his ad is still up so maybe Ebay hasn't (yet) received enough complaints. If I saved at least one person from getting ripped off then I am glad, but I would have been happier to see the ad pulled.
Likewise if you hear of any leads for same (256GB though). Hopefully @maheshhtc will pipe up if he/she spots the phone in India this week.

It seems the guy (Kimbi) ebay seller has removed that specific ad where he had mentioned F950FD Dual sim with 256 GB internal memory. Not saying that these people are fraudsters but they take advantage of language problem. Right now 9500 dual sim with 256GB memory is available but snapdragon version. I think 27th there will be 128GB release & October 5th for 256GB exynos version.
Interesting - he just updated the ad - I checked it before posting above and it still had the FD version with last revision Sept 15th. In re-checking the revision stats after reading your post it looks like the same ad with title and description changed today. I'm guessing the Ebay complaint had something to do with the revision. At least people will now know what they are getting.

Buying from Canada, coming back to USA

It looks like Canada is one of the cheapest ways to get a P30 Pro. Living on a border state, I can get into Canada and back as a long day trip. Was wondering if any has experiencing doing this?
It looks like Fido and Rogers both have it for $1099 outright, but when I tried to order online it requires signing up for phone service. And I have no idea if they would actually let someone from the US buy one outright from them?
Hopefully someone else has insight doing this?
clove.uk has it the cheapest

They will not allow that. You need to have some form of Canadian ID or bank account when I spoke to them the other day.
clove.uk or amazon.co.uk (for now anyway) will allow pre-order for April 5th release... however order now before Brexit and get it shipped out before Brexit as who knows what will happen to shipping once it hits....
The ones in Canada 6GB RAM though keep that in mind:
https://www.koodomobile.com/phones/huawei-p30-pro
128gb are 6gb ram, 256gb is 8gb ram. Problem is the Canadian carriers want you to change your plan or sign up for a plan. If you want to pre order, you will get a free watch. If you want to buy it outright, you'll have to wait till launch. Rogers, koodo, videotron, bell, telus, fido all have the same rule for this phone.

I've talked to 2 different higher up reps from Bell and Rogers that say the specs on the 256GB are still 6GB RAM. Only storage is different. So not sure at this point. Drives me crazy that these manufacturers have so many different variants to create this uncertainty

Doesnt mean the carriers will carry both though unfortunately.
Videotron has both and I think telus, koodoo and virgin also. Bell, Rogers, fido only have the 128gb as far as I was told.

I bought my 256GB from Koodo (only black 256GB available btw). It's released here on the 11th, should get it in the mail a couple days later.
I can't wait! Lol. My note 4 is holding on by a small thread.

Reception on Tencent Rog 3 in U.S? How is it?

Wondering how the reception is on the Chinese version in the U.S like on T-Mobile? Can anyone share their experiences? Any dropped calls, how's the 5g and 4g lte? The Chinese version says tencent on the back of the phone.
For 5g, it only has band 41 2.5GHz. It's missing band 71 600 MHz and the other 260 and 261 bands for 5G high speed mmwave.
For 4G LTE, it's missing bands 66, 12, and 71.
There's also a guide here showing you how to enable voLTE. Maybe someone can try that and share.
I'm trying to decide between global or tencent but the tencent is like $200-$300 cheaper because of the missing bands and you can get it in lower storage capacities than the global one. Wondering how it actually performs in the U.S

My buddy has the tencent version and has no signal at times, when I do on my a version. Stop being cheap, and spend the $ for the a version. No band 12,66, and 71 is a deal breaker imo.

512gb is overkill for me. I'd be fine with 128gb. I'd only pay $1000+ for iPhone 12 pro. imo, Android over $1000 isn't worth it due to its faster depreciation. Trying to see how the Chinese one actually performs.
I'm curious what bands the lenovo legion phone is going to have on its unreleased global variant too. If that comes with volte support, and priced significantly less than than the version a rog, I'll probably go with that.

Move along then. My buddy is sending his tencent rog back. It works terrible. That legion is terrible. Sounds like you should just but an apple.

You seem pretty experienced with the rog phones. Have you owned the first or second model because I'm mostly wondering how they perform after 2-3 years. I'm trying to get a new phone that will last me around 3 years without getting buggy and slow. If you have had one of the older ones, how are they after like 2 years with the updates? I read that asus also stops updating after the first year so does that affect overall performance after 2-3 years

I had the rog2, but get new phones every few months. Sorry, cant help there. Like i said, just buy an apple, very good HW, and SW is very reliable with plenty of updates.

The only reason I'm considering the rog 3 is because of the amazing Emulator support on 3ds,psp, and ps2 which iphone lacks. Just wish there was more info out there on this phone.

INFO? Like what? I just gave you the answers. This i why i deleted the other thread. People dont like the answers they get, so they assume its BS. The tencent is not worth the savings IF you live in the US. Plain and simple.

I don't understand how there's only a 512gb variant in the global version. On their global website, it says upto 512gb so their should be 256gb and 128gb variants too but there are none for sale.
If there was the other variants, the price would match their Chinese version and I would buy it on the spot.
What also bothers me is no definite release date in the u.s. so I don't know when to look forward to when they release the smaller storage size, I grow impatient easily

bs3pro is right in this case. First and foremost, your money your choice, but you can only buy what is available on the market. At present the only A Version (which is the expected version to be made available in the US) specs are 12 GB + 512GB or 16GB + 512GB and are imported model. That said an A Version from wherever and an A Version from the US are both still A Versions with the same internal modem for T Mobile bands. It still remains to be seen when and if a 128 GB or 256 GB models are released with the A Version modem.
However, it is ill advised to purchase a model that is severely lacking band coverage as both the Tencent and B Version modems do not have support for LTE bands 66 and 71 which are important to T Mobile in particular. Honestly what is going to save you more money, buy a phone missing crucial bands because it's cheaper, and then having to get a new phone due to lack of coverage and performance, or wait and see your options and then decide.
If you are truly in dire need of a new phone you may just want to consider a different brand and shop around a little because impatience won't do any good for you or your wallet.
EDIT: To try and put this to rest, Asus Taiwan is the only country who produces and sells A Versions phones, here is the ROG phone 3 store page. These are the only models currently for sale that support T Mobile here in the States link for posterity, sorry if it's not allowed:

Wrong. The Hong Kong version is a also. It's the one I have. There's also Germany A version
Thanks for the clarification but I still think the point stands for the actual specs as opposed to the region of production

Thanks. That was some solid advice. I found the taiwan version online for around $1250 with tax which was the lowest. I was going to get that and the asus kunai 3 gamepad for $200-$300 but I ended up ordering the oneplus 8 pro 12gb 256gb for $820 with tax and I'll just pick up the razer kishi gamepad for $100. I find it suits my needs better after finding out the oneplus 8 pro runs all the same games in the emulators and it's ip68 water resistant. Plus, I save $500-$600 and it has all the same tmobile bands. Just gonna miss out on that 6000mah battery.
I couldn't even find a decent case for the rog 3 let alone a water resistant one. It's a must for working out.

Yeah, that's honestly was I was trying to get at. There's no reason to try and force yourself to like a phone that doesn't check every box for you, especially at it's price point. It's much better to get something that makes you happy and functions well than something that you forced yourself to like. Glad I could help!

Question Question on unlocked S21 Ultra 5g bought from Samsung

So here's my question. I was waiting for the T-Mobile version of the s21 ultra to be in stock in the 256gig version, but it seems like that is taking too long so I had purchased the unlocked version. Yesterday when I went into the T-Mobile store, I was told that it wouldn't be able to pick up 5g and a lot of the phone itself wouldn't be compatible. Does anyone know if this is true? Sorry I know I sound like a Noob because I am, but I'm just a bit worried. If that's the case I see about people flashing stuff. Would it be possible to flash say the T-Mobile stuff to the unlocked phone so it would work? Sorry for writing a book, just wanted to be thorough. Appreciate any feed back or answers.

They either lied to try and sell you a T-mobile version or they don't know what they are talking about. The US unlocked model works well with all the US carriers and has no issues picking up 5G and even supports WiFi calling.

Thanks a lot for responding with that info. I appreciate it.
I have TMobile and an unlocked s21 ultra. They work perfectly together. No issues whatsoever with 5g.

Dude that's awesome, I'm feeling way better about my purchase. Thank you for replying and letting me know. I appreciate it.
I have a S21 Ultra unlocked and carrier is TMobile, no problem so far.
T-Mobile has the least number of issues if you bring-your-own-device. It's Verizon that's a real PITA.
I'm grateful for everyone posting and sharing their experiences and uses. Thank you to everyone. Appreciate it.
Go to a different store. They lied to you. I bought mine from Amazon, it's the unlocked 128gb version, (the 256gb wasn't in stock during the sale. They both priced the same) and it works without a problem. T Mobile 5G works really good on it.
I'm getting 5G via T-Mobile on my unlocked S21 Ultra direct from Samsung. That shady store or salesperson straight up lied to you, they are ignorant about unlocked devices, or both.
I want to change IMEI of Samsung galaxy s21 ultra 5g
Changing of imei is illegal in most countries (if not all). You will not get any help with that on XDA...
As others have said, this isnt true.
One thing that is (ior certainly was a couple of years ago) was that Three didnt allow non three branded handsets to connect to their 800MHz supervoice service, which IME made a huge difference in the LTE days
