Icons missing in status bar on Android 12 - Google Pixel 5 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
just updated to A12 and noticed that the icons for the clock and vibrations are missing on the stauts bar.
If I pull down the status bar all icons are present, strange.
Anybody else? Is this intended behavior, is there a trick, do we have to wait for an update?

I have same issue

Clock is showing for me, it does not display the ring mode which I believe is normal.

Its strange that the "silent" icon is showing up, but the "vibration" icon is not.
Br

I just updated to Android 12 and neither the vibrate mode nor alarm icons show up. This is really bad. Plus you can't uninstall the update like you can on Windows.

yup, im on a pixel 6 pro and my 5G/LTE icon disappeared even though I'm connected, Ringer, Bluetooth, auto rotate, etc.. it's a mess.

Random notification appearing intermittently

I'm getting a random notification in the status bar with a very faint icon present ragardless of whether I'm in an app or not. It stays on for about 15 minutes and disappears. It doesn't happen very frequently, but I may have missed the icon a few times as it's hard to see. I've attached a screenshot, but do note that the icon is difficult to see! It's in the top left of the status bar, where app notifications go.

That is the Google Now icon. When you have a notification from the app like weather or distance to home, thats what it shows

Active Display + Notifications in Status Bar Disappearing

Anyone have this issue where notifications don't appear in the status bar? For example, whenever I get a text, sometimes I get the icon in the status bar but whenever it flashes in active display and I don't do anything, it actually doesn't appear in my status bar, thus I don't realize I got a text until I decide to open the app later.
It happens whenever my phone gets notifications and I don't do anything about it. I see active display go off displaying the notification though.

[Q] notification bar icon question

Hi all z3c user,
I have a question about the icon on the notification bar. I have installed a newspaper app, if there are some news to alert me, it will pop up an icon and have a notification message in the notification panel.
If there are a first alert but I still not clear it, then if the second alert received, the icon in notification bar has only one, and the notification panel will have two messages until I clear it, then they will gone.
The problem is, the same app, installed other than SONY device, e.g. LG/Samsung, they will have one icon for one message, that means they will have 2 same icon when they received two alerts, but I found that SONY ROM will group the icon into one, so that I need to pull down the notification panel to see how many alert received.
Anyone know how to "ungroup" the icon? Thanks.
By the way, not only this app, some football score apps have the same problem.
no one have idea?
It's a SystemUI thing, meaning it's hardcoded. Sony made it this way, other vendors are doing it the other way. Some custom ROMs have the ability to toggle this behaviour, but on stock there's nothing to do. IMHO, grouping is better because it doesn't waste so much space on the notification bar for same types of notifications. If I get 1 email, I really don't mind knowing there's actually 5 at the first glance, but I'll see that immediately when I pull down the notification bar anyway.

Thanks for your reply. But do you know is it able to change some settings or parameters in systemui.apk?

And how can i activate when i get notifications , not to wake up the whole display.
I want just notification to pop up on the screen , while the screen stays black.

Miui doesn't have ambient. You can flash aosp based (not miui ones) custom roms for that option

As much as I'd love to have this feature (coming from OnePlus), I have settled for what MIUI offers. I think we will never get this feature because even MIUI 11 beta does not include it. Too bad.
I get apps icons when I get notifications while on aod.
The global rom shows very few AOD notifications. Not even the Google dialler or Google Messages, which are the stock apps on the global rom, will show notifications. The only app that I can get to show AOD notifications is Gmail.
This is really poor form from Xiaomi.

You need to enable luck screen notifications individually for the apps to show them on the lock screen

Miui11 supports notifications+ ambient display animations like pulsating screen, bubbles etc but you gotta enable individual lock screen notifications for apps you want the notifications for.
No Nakul.
Even when the "show notification on lockscreen" is "On", you don't get the icon notification on the Always On Display.
For example I use Outlook for my emails. I do get notifications on my lockscreen but I don't have any icon notification on my Always On Display.

Question Notifications not showing on lock screen

So this is weird. I am not using dark mode. I removed Vivo.pem. I followed (I think) all the instructions to activate notifications. At the begginning my notifications come perfectly everywhere(I have it to light the screen when notification comes).
However, after a while or a few minutes the meesages still come but the screen does not light up nor does anything show on lockscreen. They do show on the dropdown screen and they do show on the app icon as well.
I use Nova usually, I tried with and without Nova to no avail. However when I reboot the messages show (sometimes) on lockscreen..afterwhich they stop. its like something blocks all notification to lockscreen after a while.
Did I miss someting in the instructions?

Set your lockscreen notifications this way . Than individually allow apps you want to show notifications on lockscreen . And you're good to go .
I do(I think).
It's not about the lighting of the screen per say,it's about the messages not showing(or screen lighting) after a while on the lockscreen. It becomes a clean lockscreen ..but when I go to drop down menu or check the badges on the apps they are all there.
Again it works sometimes at the beginning then stops populating the lockscreen
I don't know if it works for you or not but try these for the apps you wanna get the notifications.
1. Disable Allow smart notification control.
2. Enable the settings from 2nd screenshot.
ah..ok I see...will give it a shot

Mine doesn't have that option.
"Allow Smart notification control"
Mine doesn't either ..but I think that there is a general setting that says enable and disable which makes it not show on a per app level.
On another note..the messages all of a sudden started to show. And I did NOTHING DIFFERENT. I had the exact settings as in attachments.I had previously rebooted the phone like many times to no avail.
I know we're beating a deadhorse with vivo notifications, but man how can someone mess up something so simple ....and it's so hard to figure it out when you can't really replicate it .
I have this thought: If the notifications are still coming but just not showing on the lock screen, on Samsung phones (S21, S22....) also, it just notifies the app icon. notifications come in without lighting up the screen and showing a summary of what is being notified normally like other phones. I fixed it with a Glimpse Notifications software available on the Play Store. All incoming notifications will light up the lock screen and show a summary of the content like other phones
