General Top 3 ColorOS 12 Customization Features - OPPO Find X3 Pro

As I mentioned here before, I was lucky enough to be on the first wave of updates for my FInd X3 Pro, and as promised I'll share more insights with you!
Ok just to clarify, its my personal view based on my usage. Just share your view and lets discuss!
ColorOS 12: When I’ve updated my Find X3 Pro to ColorOS12 Beta Version, I couldn’t wait any longer to get hands-on new customization features. This time there is much more to experience compared to ColorOS 11 launch, so without further ado, I’m going through my personal TOP 3 Customization features on ColorOS 12:
Top 1: Omoji
Omoji is OPPO's 3D animated avatar of you and your movements! The feature uses a face capture algorithm to scan around 75 detail points of your face moves to create a sleek personalized emoji. I find that personalized emojis itself are nothing new, we know it from other apps already, but it’s definitely a highlight to send your face mimic in funny ways instead of boring messages. Next to this I tried Omoji as profile pic, on the always-on-display, and sent it via messenger & nearby share. Honestly, it's a lot of fun to try out different styles, and as I did, save several characters for different types of usage.

Top 2: Wallpaper Based Theme Settings
One of my favorite “customization spots”, the personalization tab, also got an upgrade. As a key highlight of Android 12 (Material You), ColorOS made its own version: Wallpaper based theme settings or how it is in settings: “Wallpaper color picking”.Along with the key features like icons styles, fingerprint animation, and color schemes, now you can also create your own matched theme by picking the theme colors based on your wallpaper. Simply place the dots anywhere on your wallpaper and the system will adopt the whole theme based on your selection. Spoiler: It’s amazing if you’re into customization and gives you endless options!
Top 3: AOD 2.0
Personally, I still find it pretty satisfying to create kaleidoscope patterns for Always-On-Display, and luckily this feature is included in the new AOD 2.0 interface along with a bunch of new custom options. AOD 2.0 allows you to pick your selfie and transform it into a portrait silhouette, or add your personal Omoji to be displayed, both definitely brings that sketchy and unique look to your AOD. I tried both, and will probably stick with my Omoji option.
These are my personal Top 3 Customization favorites on ColorOS 12.
As you know, there are plenty of more customizations to mention, such as Edge lighting, Fingerprint animation, darkmode setups and so on
For those who are on ColorOS 12, what are your top 3?

In developer option, could you activate Show Refresh Rate?
Then use some application and watch the number:
right now in Color 11 it stays on 120 or 60.
That's no good as it is supposed to fluctuates between 1 to 120 to save battery.
Oppo as always fooled users with features that aren't there

I second that. My only concern has been battery life so far.

[App] sabHub

Hi Guys,
sabHub has just gone live in the marketplace! As the name suggests it is a client that will interface with your sabnzbd+ install
Functionality at the moment includes:
-View Queue
-View History
-Add NZB via Newzbin ID
-Delete Individual Download
-Pause Individual Download
-Clear History
-Remove individual history items.
-Landscape view supported and shows more detailed information
It has a trial and costs €1.29 for the paid version however the only difference is the presence of a small ad on the 'Add NZB' page. So no time limitation or reduced functionality. However only paid up customers will get the Live Tile functionality when it is introduced (which will be very soon!).
Cheers,
Bean

Thanks for sharing!
just a Q... why have the refresh and the settings icons in the top left/right instead of following the rest of the apps by having it in the bar at the bottom where they belong?
@Gate Keeper A couple of reasons for this.
Firstly- The Microsoft UX Guidelines published say don't put a application bar on a panorama control which is what my UI is based around
Secondly- adding the application bar to the panorama control will reduce the usable space of the list which in portrait mode is pretty limited as it is.
Thirdly-There is a lot of dead space at the top of the panorama control that I wanted to make the most out of!
If you look at the eBay app, that's where I got the inspiration for the settings/refresh buttons- which I think in a panorama context work quite well.
no worries, just thought i'd ask, wasn't have a dig at you or your app, sorry if it sounded like that. and yes i have noticed it on the ebay app, just not with the corner overlays that's all.
Just installed and works great! Good job!
One thing though, the Get API code thing didn't just get the code, it also got a load of the HTML so didn't work. I'm using SabNZBD 0.5.3, not the latest version, maybe that caused a problem?

no i didnt take it that way at all! I'm still finding my feet with wp7 development. any feedback on UX design etc is most welcomed and always good to start a discussion on these things!
@adamwebb28- Thanks for the feedback I'll look into the issue. Obviously a html scraping issue. I'm not on the latest version either so I'll have to see what the HTML layout changes are or come up with a more robust way to scrape the api key that will work across versions.
Hi There, I just purchased the Non-Ad version. Excellent stuff. any Idea when we'll be able to use other repositories like NzbMatrix . Any Idea how i'd get a newsbin ID? Cheers
@smoothbond thanks for supporting the app!
My eventual goal is to have a full newzbin/nzbmatrix search tool for WP7, whether this is in the form of a separate app or integrated into sabHub i'm not sure yet.

[WIDGET][UCCW] - MIUI 2x4 Weather Clock Clone

Hi all! I'm Digitalhigh. I port MIUI for the evo 3d. Resultingly, I've spent a lot of time lately trying to get every little detail perfected. One of the things that bugs me is that the 2x4 weather widget is broken from the factory. Or, to be more precise, the weather feature refuses to work because they rely on their own built-in weather app, which doesn't work in the US.
There exist several clones of this app with varying functionality...one doesn't locate your position, another doesn't default to the system clock, etc., etc.
So, I set out to find a method to properly emulate the MIUI weather app without any loss of functionality or requirement to bounce between six different programs - and discovered UCCW.
(This is probably a great time to point out how bada$$ UCCW is. A lot of widgets are customizeable, but this one takes the cake. The built in WYSIWYG editor is just awesome).
The above image is the full set of weather icons created for this. I'd say about 75% of them are pulled straight from MIUI framework, and the other 25% were created by me to fill in the missing requirements for UCCW.
Original: VS Mine:
And, as you can see, the output is pretty danged good. I am still playing with fonts and such, but for now, I'd like to get feedback on how all the weather icons look. I live in the frigid wasteland known as Wisconsin, so most of my weather updates are going to be very nonplussed. So, if anybody using this has issues reading over any of the weather images, please take a screenshot and post it for me and I'll see what I can do for that image. Thanks!!
As this is designed for MIUI, the assigned hotzones are linked to MIUI apps, and may not work on other ROMS. If you know how to use UCCW, then you know it should be a snap to map these to your ROM's apps.
ALSO, this is designed for the evo 3d's screen, so I'm not sure how the dimensions will work out on other devices. Please let me know.
But - the clock links to the miui deskclock, the date links to the calendar, and clicking the weather icon links to the trusty ol' google news and weather app. Tap the top-right to get into UCCW editor.
So, yeah. Be gentle. I know the corners need a little work and it's my ultimate goal to fully scale the weather icons and add more features, but for what it is, I think it's a good start.

Is it possible to show the weather as mph vs km, or is that just a limitation of UCCW?
Thanks in advance. Looks good! Keep up the great work

Unfortunately, that seems to be the one thing I couldn't find. I'm new to UCCM, so I'm really hoping I just don't know how to do it yet. It is possible to edit the suffix of the wind speed item - but I don't think that it actually changes the value to the MPH equivalent.
Right now I'm trying to do a better job with the overlay - you can kinda see where the mask is undercut by the weather image due to the weird scaling used by UCCW. So, I'm gonna redo every single weather icon and just use a blank bg - I hope this will do the trick. Once that's done, I plan on getting in touch with the author and seeing if that is a feature or if it can be added.

[COMPETITION] PebbleWear - A homescreen replacement bringing powerful notifications

[COMPETITION] PebbleWear - A homescreen replacement bringing powerful notifications
Alpha Release:
Well, this could have gone a lot better. This app ended up being a larger project than I initially imagined and was filled with bugs that were hard to track down. I'm releasing a limited version that only displays notifications (no interaction) so I can release something mostly functional. This is a project that I really want to see finished, so my work on it will not be stopping.
Either way it's 4am here. So I need to sleep.

With Pebble Wear your notifications are always accessible right below the watch face. Notifications are mirrored exactly as they appear on your phone and are shown as a list of cards packed with glanceable information. (Text, images and icons)
Notifications are sorted by priority and only vibrate if they would on your phone.
The functionality doesn't end there, by pressing the back button you can dismiss a notification (also dismissing it from your phone) and by pressing the select button you can view additional pages and even trigger actions on the notification.
Core Functionality:
Version 1 will have at least the following functionality:
Basic digital watchface
Notifications mirrored
Images
Icons
Dismiss
Actions
Support Android 4.4+
Future Functionality:
Possible future functionality:
Customisable watchface
Notification Pages
Specific Android Wear notification functionality (eg quick reply actions, extra notification pages)
Expandable notifications
Support Android 4.3 (if in demand)

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've made substantial progress since starting development.
This is my first time working with Android and many of the Pebble SDK features so I found it helpful to develop small test apps to understand individual features. This has been very informative but has probably slowed down development.
Either way I have the following sorted:
--Watch App UI--
Memory management (how much I will store on the watch)
Binary image manipulation
Animations
--Test Notification App--
App Messages (the following data is sent to and displayed on watch)
Notification text
Notification icons
Notification images
Image dithering (surprising simple algorithm, but very effective)
I now need to combine my test UI with my notification sending which will give me an early usable version. After that, notification actions, and then finally add a tutorial/setup guide to the Android App.
seems promising!
not working so good to my phone and pebble (loading on every notification) but I want to keep a look on the development
Great concept
Great concept. I didn't know this was possible!
Consider posting the full Android project source onto GitHub so we can fork.
This looks awesome
Woops, ignore this
uhm,...is this project still active? Would be great.
Sorry about the delay. I've decided to redesign it to better fit the Pebble rather than just being a port of Android Wear. I'll still be supporting the same feature set except for the watchface. I'll hopefully have something done by the end of the year.
I've been watching this and haven't heard anything lately. Any word? @RichardGG

Thanks for your interest. I've had a bit of a software development dry spell but I want to get back into it ASAP. This is a big project and I'll be basically starting again from scratch so unfortunately, if I do continue, it won't be done until later this year. I'll keep this thread updated on any progress I make.
Good luck

hi. I just installed colorOs12.
I followed your guide to install the omoji app, but I cannot find it in the drawer. it's available only in the app list but I cannot open from there. if I try to go to the Always on display options, I see the emoji option but If I click on it and push the create emoji button it does nothing.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
ok. i installed the 1.0 version and it partially works. lets me create a custom face but no option for shot omoji is available after I create my omoji.
the AOD instead seems working.
Hi, i installed omoji app, but i didn't find any icon in app drawer or in my home screen, when i found out in settings app list, i didn't found "open" button in omoji app. Please help. Thank you.
Which version did you install? Try 1.0.10
The 1.0.10 it's the only one that worked with me but I only have 3 Omoji's available and can't create.
Is this app works in realme7pro with Android 12??
If yes then why not working in my device????
