Need Some Help. Identifying/Changing Fingerprint on Asus Rog 5s - ASUS ROG Phone II Questions & Answers

Hey guys not sure if this has been spoken about already or if this thread is still active.
I bought an Asus ROG 5s and from the start I've had the Hardware Stub Services Warning Notification.
so I downloaded HW Info to see what was going on and I'm having a problem trying to figure out what version finger print is.
When I'm in HW Info I click on system
the fingerprint says WW
the description says CN
when I click on description it says
The boot image is WW
The Vendor fingerprint is CN
so I'm guessing my phone was originally CN and has been flashed with WW.
I guess my main question is how can I get/ what do I need to do to get things on my rog 5s to all say WW
Am I able to just keep things different and download WW updates manually to keep my phone running smoothly or would that just cause more issues/ brick the phone.
Most of the guides I see are for ROG 3 or 2's and I haven't found much regarding the 5 or 5s and I cant seem to any files to even attempt changing things to begin with.
Any help would be greatly Appreciated thanks in advance.

Custom Rom

Hi @ all.
Im pretty new to "android auto".
I recently bought this device:
s.aliexpress.com/Ezy2A32u
Its ok for that price and i wanted to give it a try.
Im pretty happy, but there are two little problems:
-theres a little "noise" on low volume(i think the cheap hardware's causing it) but i can live with that for that price
- software... It seems to be android 4.4.2 with some pre installed apps.
Some of them ive already uninstalled with root apps.
But overall, im not happy with it, theres also the radio app which starts every start automaticly.
So the main question is, is there any possibility to install a custom rom?
Many thanks
In your settings there should be some information listed which will say something like MTCB or MTCC or MTCD thats the first important part to deciding which rom you can run. The picture in this thread should help you find it.

And when i press mcu several times, it wants a Password
Can someone help me out?

Help! Wonda mobile Rog 2 without OTA

Hi everyone.
So I bought the Rog 2 from wonda mobile and at the time it was sold as Chinese version flashed with global rom WITH OTA updates.
I just checked the item page at Wonda and now they have amended the description/Q+A to now say that NO OTA and that updates have to be done on computer.
I assume that the bootloader was unlocked on this mobile before they flashed to global WW ROM, I have attached screenshot from devicehw - PLEASE CONFIRM IF MY BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED.

If my bootloader is already unlocked, and I already have global WW ROM installed 1908. 12_0, what is the process for me to install the latest WW update?
And finally, if I install the latest updates can I keep all my data and settings? Or do I have to backup/restore every single time?
All help is appreciated, thanks in advance :good:
Anybody?
You need to change your fingerprint to be WW following the guide in the Guides channel. No OTA updates for you. To update, you have to place the update file in the root directory of the phone and the system will pick it up and flash without you losing your data. This is covered in the guides section.

Unlock BL - already locked to another Mi Account

Hi,
I've just bought a secondhand Mi 9 (my original Mi 9 screen broke when I dropped it ), but when trying to unlock the bootloader, I get this message:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
which google tells me means the phone has been locked by account 157***980 'by looking for the phone and cannot be unlocked'.
I take this to mean that the phone was linked to the Mi account 157***980 by the original owner, and therefore can't be unlocked using the Mi Unlock software.
Is this right or is there any way around this? I'll have to return the phone to the ebay seller I bought it off (I don't think they were the original owner, so wouldn't be able to delink the phone).
Just to be clear, this isn't a question about circumventing the wait time to unlock - it's asking about the above situation.
Thanks in advance.
----------------
EDIT: It turned out that was my account - I seem to have two, one associated with my phone number, and one for my email address - trying for a third time sorted it out for me. Gah. Mods, please feel free to delete this thread as I don't think this question will be useful to others.

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
I'm sorry to say, but if it's a "Verizon" branded device, you can't unlock the bootloader since Big Red won't allow it.
You would have needed to purchase one directly from Google as is described in this thread. Sorry mate.
Good luck, there's almost no chance that it will happen but people continue trying:
