General Just downgraded to One UI 3.1 - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

And everything work flawlessly compared to One Ui 4, no lags, no shutter animations, free of bugs.
Can't believe how Samsung released this new update with so much bugs.

the instuctions:

remember : ( FOR ME ) flash one ui 3.1 over 4.0 select home csc failed via odin.
try again with csc nit home csc successfully but wiping data .

To get into bootloader mode just power down, wait about 5-10 seconds, press volume up and down and connect to (the in the PC) usb cable and you`re done. Just a tip.

Thank you very much. I will wait one more update, if it wont fix then I'll try this.

You say 12 is full of bugs, I haven't experienced anything since the beta's and am getting incredible SOT time

They really dropped the ball and I'm gonna have to do the same if the patch isn't out soon. Any advice for a newbie? Main question I have is will I need to dump my data back onto the phone after this? Or do I have the option to preserve my data on the device itself so I don't have to dump from backup? Of course, I'm going do a backup the device just in case. I really just want to know what I'm about to dive into.

Depends on your carrier. Verizon and T-Mobile already got their patches rolled out. AT&T, and unlocked phones have not.

To downgrade what firmware should I download...I m a bit confused. I m in Usa and have an unlocked version. From sammobile website it has att, tmo, verizon etc but i dont see the unlocked? Couple other options say TMK and USC...no idea what those mean. Any Ideas?
EDIT: NVM figured it out. There is a thread on here with U1 firmware which is for unlocked variant. However Home CSC gave me an error and phone wouldnt boot. But there was an option for factory reset, did that and booted fine.

Quick question, updated to 12. Not happy with the lag and other aspects. If I backup my phone with smart switch and then try to revert to 11, can I restore my data?

Could you get me a link to that? I have the US unlocked variant as well. Could really use the help.

Great news, also just as important I changed my phone wallpaper and may consider using Google Messages for a bit.

You guys tried the BUKG? it's working flawlessly for me. No stuttering animations, lovely colors customization, frame drop has been fixed, no battery drain

Still buggy as hell. Downgraded again.

I am considering to Downgrade also,
just can't stand the fact that a basic functionality like Google Play Store is not working correctly,
I've applied the December Patch pushed by Samsung, would i be able to downgrade (Clean) to Android 11 with the ODIN method? it is mentioned that uses who applied the latest security Patch may fail to downgrade.
I have the latest BUL1 Release, and Model SM-G998B

If you're already on OI2, the update is only 101MB instead of 672MB...
I installed the update on my S6 Edge and one thing I noticed that's missing is the battery optimization feature that Samsung built which is similar to the upcoming Doze/App Standby feature. It was released in this update on the t-mobile and international versions but I don't see it anywhere on the AT&T version. I'm not sure why they removed a feature that can greatly improve battery life but that's AT&T for you. I also don't see Wifi calling in this update. It appears to basically just be bug fixes, security updates and VoLTE improvements with HD Video and ability to send larger videos over SMS.
I got an update last night and just got another 1 now. Any1 else??

VoLTE is called Enhanced LTE and it is found under settings, connections, mobile data. It's enabled by default but for multiple firmware editions it would cause a battery drain to various degrees. I do notice my battery doesn't last as long with it enabled on OJ7 however it does appear to be much better than before.
Edit: Let me state now that after a few days of VoLTE the drain came back though cell standby wasn't appearing on my battery stats so I had to disable it again. I'm not sure if it has to do with reception/location or what exactly but for me this feature still isn't ready.
Anyone find the ODIN files yet? I am on TMO with the ATT phone version and it seems to not allow me to download the update. I am not sure if it is because I'm on TMO or my area or what but I'd really like to try to get a new radio.
Seconded, I'm looking for G920AUCU3BOJ7 for the regular S6 as well.
I still had a few stage freight vulnerabilities after my update to 5.1.1. This update looks like it patched all the other SF vulnerabilities that it didn't on the last update.
a link to download the new OTA? please
I am about to throw this phone into trash. I ve tried everything, reset and restore. The phone doesn't go into deep sleep and lose 50% battery overnight.
I am on TMobile and the phone won't let me update.

MIUI 9.1 Global Stable is out for Mi Mix 2! (v 9.1.1.0)

____Update 12/01____
Since a couple of days we now have v 9.1.2.0. I haven't noticed any differences yet, but the wallpaper carousel is functioning again. They also implemented fixes for problems that I personally did not encounter. ...aaand the notifications are slightly improved! Some of them evene expand and allow for direct interaction. Breathtaking development.
Get it while it's fresh on en.miui.com.
Should you not be rooted, I can recommend installing it via XiaoMiTool. I used this to flash the last MIUI 8 Global Stable, and then got 9.1.1.0 and now 9.1.2.0 via OTA. I've read that for some people here fast charging isn't working on th 9-er Firmwares. I have had no problem with that at all. Maybe it's because you guys are rooted, or because system wasn't flashed properly? I don't know, but I feel with you...
____Update 11/16____
The MIUI9 release has since been officially announced. This XDA article sheds some light on the release. However, as of today, the ROM is still not available for download on en.miui.com.
If you don't feel like waiting for OTA hitting you, shadowxaero has provided a link to download 9.1.1.0 (NDEMIEI) in post #7.
To enable VOLTE in presumably every MIUI realease, KevinLuong has shared a great link to an explanation including an easy fix in post #2.
Update 11/17
The Firmware is officially available on en.miui.com now. Should you not be rooted, consider installing it via XiaoMiTool, which will let you chose and download the Firmware within the programs flashing dialogue (give that man a beer).
_____initial post_____
..but there is no mention of it anywhere (yet). Why is that?
It's Version 9.1.1.0 (NDEMIEI). Got it OTA on Friday night, but it isn't even yet listed on the official site. Whats up with that?
Everything seems to run great, except that VOLTE can not be activated, which I find a little weird for a stable release. Oh, and notfications are still not up to scratch in MIUI 9, which is the single most annoying thing about MIUI.
Anyone else on this ROM? Maybe with tips, tricks, htoughts or insights?

Hmm. Why would they do that? I'm not even participating in the user feedback program (at least not willingly ). Usually the nightlys they push out clearly state that they are nightlys, don't they? I saw this with the Mi 6 when it got v 9.0.1.0. In this case on Mix 2 the ROM clearly states "stable" though.
Well, I don't want to complain. I feel special now. :victory:

Yes, I had Global Stable (v8.5.1.0).
It's a global stable beta (stable beta = what exactly??) according to the miui forums. There was an announcement about it. I put a link to the download in the reverse engineering thread.
I haven't actually tried it yet but I would be interested to know if it passes safetynet, I guess.

You can flash it with fastboot, but you have to convert the system to a system.img in order to do so.

I used sdat2img.py
https://github.com/xpirt/sdat2img
Use that to make a system.img, flash that with fastboot.
Then flash all of the other partitions with fastboot from the unpacked zip, following the pattern of the Xiaomi fastboot updates so you know which thing needs to be flashed to what.
Kind of difficult to explain and probably not worth putting together a whole tutorial, but that's how you do it.
this build passes safetynet with Magisk 14. I also installed this over Epic rom and not over v8 stable.. works fine anyways. I did format userdata and cache from fastboot before i flashed.

This will most likely not work coming from the developer ROM, but try the regular manual update method:
Download the ROM and copy it to your device. Then go to settings > About Phone > System Update and chose your update package from the extended menu (three dots, top right).
Should the regular method not work, and should your device not be unlocked/rooted, then simply use the XiaoMiTool. If you follow the instructions this program works really really well, so consider donating that guy a beer or two.

Have you tried the "getprop ro.treble.enabled" command in the terminal ? If no, could you please confirm whether the value was "true" or "false".
I used treble check app & it says there is support for treble but no A/B partition so no seamless updates.

I'm a little confused. How come it supports Treble if it doesn't have a separate 'vendor partition' which is supposed to bring seamless updates?
I don't think the app you're using is reliable.
Well, either that or I'm missing something BIG about Project Treble!
He didn't say that! The phone does indeed have a vendor partition, it just doesn't have the A/B scheme (that's what he said at least).

Okay, got my device today, did a factory reset before starting. All worked fine. Yes, for sure Project Treble support, but only A-Partition. But after the reset and setup all that Bloatware was there again. Well, not to nice, but you can uninstall some of them. The device is really nice and you really get a lot of SP for the money. So, now wait for the first updates to come

The reason i haven't done that, as i explained in the other thread, is because i need android pay, or Google pay as it's called now. I know i can pass Safetynet with some fiddling with magdisk, but as you know magdisk vs Google is a cat and mouse story, Google closes one hole resulting with magdisk failing safetynet, then magdisk updates and safetynet passes again, then Google closes that hole and so on and on. Android pay is too important for me to have to keep doing that. Without magdisk as soon as BL is unlocked, which is required for LOS, safetynet fails. If GPay wasn't so important to me i would have loaded LOS , or phh AOSP, some time ago as EMUI is just bloatware in my opinion. Why OEMs, and it's not just Honor, think their skins are better than stock is strange. If they truly believe their skin is that great then make it an apk and let users decide, don't force it down people's throat and then not even give them the option to disable it...rant over..

Android P Beta available for Nokia 7 Plus

Hey guys!
It seems Android P beta is available for selective models of Nokia 7 Plus.
https://developer.android.com/preview/devices/
The eligible devices list contains this phone.
I have ordered mine and will be receiving it in 2 days. Meanwhile, if anybody wants to give a try, please let us know how it is.
Cheers!!
Edit: If you are planning to upgrade to this Developer Preview 2, better download both files including the DP2 Beta and the Rollback Zip in the 1st instance. Once you have both files, proceed to upgrade. Many people are facing issues to download the rollback zip.

That's bad but nonetheless, a good news. Uploading the update here won't do anything as the device has to be enrolled into the beta programme and IMEI gets bound with the update. So, that Nokia knows which phones are on beta programme.
Do share your first Impressions after the update gets installed.

I guess the rollback will work just the way beta programme works. You will have to unregister your device and an OTA would be sent to your device to get you back to stable software.

Cool! I was not happy with the wiping stuff so I didn't end up flashing it but I'll wait until more people confirm it actually works without wiping.

Can you take a screenshot of the launcher it comes with, because I'm very interested about how different it is from the Pixel Launcher?

Nothing new, still looks the same (for me)
E: You can restore the normal navbar in the stock launcher settings (long press on empty space in home screen and press on home settings)
https://www.nokia.com/en_int/phones/developer does not let me enroll. N7 Plus TA-1046 T-Mobile Netherlands EU.
Just a warning to everyone else wanting to try this. In the Release Notes of the dev preview (https://developer.android.com/preview/release-notes) they say:
This release isn't Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) approved. Apps that depend on CTS-approved builds might not work normally on supported devices.

So there's a good chance that Snapchat, Netflix, Pokémon Go or several banking apps refuse to work. Also...
Devices cannot communicate with NFC readers.

Edit: according to the schedule on https://developer.android.com/preview/overview I'd wait for DP3 or DP4 both coming next month if you want something more like a daily driver.

Did anyone notice the roll back build update zip? It was v2.13b 8.1.
Switching language gave me a reboot (dutch to english). After that i automatically entered recovery mode. There the phone told me to factory reset because it could not boot or retry booting again.
Retry did the job. (Thankfully..)

Need Help ... Downgrading

Hi ...
I have a galaxy note 8 (N950F/DS). It recently got updated to One UI(Pie) 9.0 and i have been using it for almost 2 weeks now. As much as i love some of the new features. I hate the ugly icons and too much rounded everything, plus they've removed some very useful features and customization is very limited. So I am looking to downgrade to oreo which i loved everything about. But the problem is when i select my region it shows like a ton of firmware options and now i am getting confused as to which firmware to use, i'll attach a screenshot below. I know i have to stay with bootloader v5 but i have a dual sim phone does software control dual sim features or is it the same in every firmware ? Also i can't remember the firmware build of oreo that i had, is there a way to find that out ??
Thanks

Use the last oreo build 5CSA1. Backup first as you'll need to factory reset or use the csc file (which will delete data!)
Before you do that try Good Lock out and you know you can change icons through Samsung theme store?
edit:
Oh there is no separate firmware for n950F/DS and N950F. They are the same firmware.

Thanks for your reply.
Can you please tell what will be the difference in all these builds ?? i vaguely remember that maybe i had the CRJ1 build.
I know about the theme store but i in general much preferred the samsung experience aesthetics and also some features that were removed i might jump back if this UI is improved going ahead.
