DIY Phone Strap - OnePlus 8T Accessories

Made this for the safe keeping of my 8T. I was using a Gordy's leather strap, but my 6mo puppy ate it. *facepalm*

You want a multistrand braid tether attachment.
Monofilament nylon fails with little or no warning.

I used 500lb nylon. Do you think that will work? I definitely want it strong, so looking for opinions here.

Obviously that's not able to hold 500#.
The problem is the monofilament, it's all or nothing. Multistrand usually shows signs of abrasion and impending failure.
Clear nylon is also UV sensitive and doesn't weather well in dry environments.
You want a tether preferably that has no metal rings or such that can scratch the phone. Most phone cases lack good attachment points or accommodate only ridiculously thin tethers. I want at least a 50# tensile strength. First time it gets snagged on something you'll know why...
The weakest link theory applies very much to tethers.
I wear BDU cargo pants so I just use a good case and the thigh pocket. This works well even with large phones and they don't drop out but are still easily accessible.
You'll need to put some thought and searching into this to find the best solution for you.

Thanks for the assist. This strap is mostly to get me through until my new Gordy's arrives. His straps are built like tanks.

HTC Touch in "carbon fibre"

So I wanted a bit of a different look to my HTC casing. However I don't like silicone or other add-on cases, so I went a different route. On a lark I went to Canadian Tire since I remembered they used to have a fake carbon fibre vinyl available (don't ask how I know). However I found an even better one which looks a bit more realistic (and is slightly transparent so when you place it over coloured surfaces the underlying colour comes through).
Wrapped it around my HTC front and back (took the back cover off to do it). Once you lay it on you can use an exacto-knife to trim out the parts you don't want covered. Then used a heat gun to help wrap the edges without wrinkles (that just happened to be on sale too!).
The finished product:

Maybe not everyone's taste but unless you get REALLY close its fairly hard to tell its not an OEM finish (IMO).
I was in a auto parts store the other day and you know what I saw the exact product you used for this pretty cool in my opinion though I prefer the soft touch feal maybe if my phone gets banged up enough I might do this but looks good
I wish some company would release a leather battery cover, or a way to make it all leather. I think it would look very nice

Freaking dropped it!

But it took it like a champ. Brand New AT&T LTE 8.9. I was taking it into the AT&T store to get a sim card, and while getting out of the truck, I grabbed the box, but the opening was facing away from me, and the Tab simply beat me out of the truck. Face down onto the pavement from about 5'.
Thank GOD it still had the protective plastic still on the front and the rear. All I ended up with was a two chipped up corners.
I was sure the screen was going to be cracked when I heard it smack face down. First time EVER dropping a tablet.

A couple chips sucks but much better than a cracked screen. These tabs look to be pretty solid as far as i can tell. Maybe pick a case up that'll cover the corners.

Nexus 7 Sleeve/Stand Review

Hey everyone,
Yesterday I received my sleeve/stand
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Faux-Leathe...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item3378898d52
I'm pretty happy about it and I think my search is done. The outside is padded pretty well. The only con is that the case is a bit stiff when you first receive it so it's a little bit hard to slip the Nexus 7 in and out. The stand functionality is also awesome; I don't need something bulky surrounding my device at all times. Here are some pics. Sorry about the bad quality.

Why'd it have to be velcro? This case would be perfect if not for that...
Anyways, thanks for the review... if the case I'm getting doesn't work out well, I'll consider going for one of these.
Is it possible to use the stand with the tablet at the lower angle for typing? From the pictures it looks like you can just flip the case over but I don't know if it will hold.
Another question, you say it's a tight fit at first but do you think there would be room for a N7 with a TPU case to fit into it?
Thanks interesting case. Does it feel cheap?

+1 Is there a low-angle setup, or just the one?
Also, how bulky is it? The ebay listing only mentions the interior dimensions, but is it going to be a huge bulky thing that I now carry around?
Thanks for the tip, this is the closest thing to a usable case that I've seen(other than the Flipsteady, which is exactly what I want but is too expensive). All I want, really, is a stand that's always with my Nexus.

Several cases available at http://www.dealextreme.com

Go to www.dealextreme.com or dx.com and they have several inexpensive cases for the Google Nexus 7; probably from the same sources as all those eBay sellers.
As an example I have bought, in the past, a soft TPU case for my S2 (at around three bucks! :silly and I preferred it to an Otterbox... But I believe it's a hit or miss; some other products are crappy.
I bought this (here) and I am waiting for delivery; I will post a review when I get it. Seems OK however.

Looks great. Doesn't look like the flap will stay closed though since there aren't any magnets on the outside rim.

Hmmm, true.
Maybe (hopefully) it's a 'friction' closure?
I could always put a fabric elastic around it I guess, kinda like in the moleskine note books ....
Edit: on some of the pictures, it almost looks like it has an elastic; when you look at the edge, on the cover that does not have the hole, it almost seems there are seams for an elastic, that has been put away for the picture?
any other color?

Not a fan of pink haha.
That pink one has an elastic strap closure, you can just see it in the enlarged pictures on the vendors site.
I like this pink one.

I bought one from another Chinese website, will post pics when I get it. Its this one http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...r-Google-Nexus-7-tablet/612136_625561156.html

Is This The Greatest Note 2 Case Ever?

I've seen and used a number of cases....
Ive seen flip up flip to the side...
I've seen light ones and heavy ones...
I've seen people get excited by cases that make the note 2 look like a tank....
But - Does anything beat this?
Durable
luxurious
Well fitted

Not real leather but just fantastic for the price. Functionwise it is similar with yours. BTW I was also looking for yours but I dont like the red stitching.

Very very cheap that is. Good deal.
I liked the orange stitching. It was slightly different.
It's a bit like the stitching on jeans
They both look nice but I don't like the minimum protection on any of the sides. My Zenus case covers all the sides more, although not completely.

True
90 % of drops will be on the corners or the face I reckon.
Advantage of the OP style is that there is limited bulk added on the side.
