BORETS ROM for Asus Zenfone 6 & Zenfone 5

I represent the modified stock firmware, based on the firmware 3.24.40.87 Zenfone 6 (Android 5.0), as well as Zenfone 2 / Zoom / Zenfone 3 ZS550KL (5.0, 6.0.1, 7.0) firmware. ROOT already integrated. Video review here:
Disclaimer: I remind you that everything you do on your fear and risk. I'm not responsible for the breakdown of devices, bricks caused by your own hands (well, my hands, too, it's true, software to kill iron is unlikely to come out)
How to install:​1. Requires an unlocked bootloader and TWRP !!!
2. Install the firmware. Installation takes place quickly, about 1 minute. When installing the firmware, the most recent TWRP 3.0M5
Attention! The first start of the firmware after the wipes can reach 10-15 minutes.

Features:
0. Despite the fact that I tried to make firmware based on the most extreme firmware of android 5, where already the asus changed the theme engine and sawed out the possibility of changing the themes of the status bar and settings, I saved this opportunity!
1. Setup wizard, sound service, preset from Zenfone 2 and 3 (6.0.1, 7.0). In addition to the usual effects added "Pure" - when the headphones are inserted and "Outdoor" - for the external speaker. Asus Music the newest version 2.1.0.40, which modified to work on 5.0, in the code frameworks made the relevant edits, so that the asus music did not crash after every reboot of the phone, also from this player there is access to the equalizer (item Fine tuning) Sound in the headphones really cool
2. 3. 4. Extended reboot menu with items for quick reboot, reboot into bootloader and recovery + at the bottom of setting sound modes
5. Added a response to the call by applying the phone to your ear (Settings- ZenMotion- click on the text "Motion gestures" - the menu will open and you will place the appropriate checkboxes there). It does not work very well, it is necessary to apply it quite sharply to the ear, but it does work nonetheless. During the incoming call, hold the phone in front of you in your hand, bent at the elbow and along the arc, without bending the elbow, bring to the ear, there will be a pick-up
6. Start the camera by double pressing the volume buttons when the phone is sleeping and the screen is not lit (Settings-Lock Screen-Current Camera)
7. Advanced adjustment of screenshots (disabling / enabling the sound of the shutter, the format of screenshots). In the main Settings menu item "Screenshot"
8. Updated a bunch of services and applications to the extreme firmware of zenfon 2 5.0 2.20.40.198 and something borrowed from its own sewing zenfon 2 on 6.0.1
9. The menu of the recent applications as in 6.0.1 (flat)
10. Due to the lack of space in the system partition, massive sawing was necessary. The first thing, demolished the Asus Mobile Manager. This is the main evil, android himself is able to clean and programs know whether to auto-start them or not. If you think that if the asus mobile manager writes that 10000 applications were stopped by the autorun manager, then it does not mean that they all started, in fact, 10-15 pieces, and the rest did not work without the manager. In general, this rubbish with advertising and pictures, which only harms and eats. You can not try to put it from the market, write that the device is not supported
11. App powersaver and the modes themselves took from zenfon 2 and something under our devices adapted. Unlike some incomprehensible modes, they actually change something to the zenophon 5 and 6, for example, when switching from the performance mode to the optimal illumination of the screen, the brightness (inoutdoor mode) is slightly reduced and the frequency drops to 1600 MHz. And, in general, it is better to always use a productive mode, oddly enough, the battery holds better.
12. Accelerated update of the davick cache and it takes up less memory, however, there may be performance sagging the first minutes after reboots.
13. Full support for Asus Flip Cover 2
14. I borrowed the brightness levels of the display from Zenphon 2 and added a few to reduce the minimum manual and auto brightness
15. Firmware already rooted, built-in SuperSu
16 Modified ZenUI Launcher with autorotate homescreen, smooth scaling, extra font sizes, extra dock bar

Current known issues :
1. Randomly turn on camera led after wake screen with double tap/press power button. For turn off led should lock/unlock screen again

I found three bugs:
1. Gallery crash. Solution- install gallery update from Google Play and other sources and clear data
2. Did not work Asus Contacts Dark theme, after reboot again light theme. Try to fix...
3. Powersave modes work incorrectly. very often max freq decrease to 1333 or 1600 MHz. Also try to fix
4.Camera closed when make photo

By using twrp 3.0.M5-0,
1. advance wipe select dalvik,system,cache, and data
2.wipe format data then type YES
3. Reboot to recovery again
4. install zip file BORETS24.

Confirm. But if you switch video resolution from FullHD to HD for front camera - blur will not. I changed codecs and camera config and don't remember, stock have FullHD for front camera or not?

no it doesnt... stock only have HD and TV quality for front camera

Bug Reporting
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

First first, props!

Thank you for this ROM! I came from the latest Xiaomi EU and it seems that the audio doesn't work and the videos are like 15-20 fps. Firmware problem, maybe?

use 12.1.5 last one has broken twrp thats why we not use it as a base

I can't download latest version 1.1 it's always stuck around 500mb.
I will try 1.0 for now....

I did everything according to the instructions in the rom there is no camera application after adding a fingerprint when unlocking the screen brightens to the max

Need to use 12.1.5 eu like said in post otherwise things wont work

Some review, good things:
- Faceunlock working fine
- safety net with magisk - PASS, (Magisk v.21.1)
- everything is working fine and smooth, ROM is pretty stable no apps crashes - 2 days using
- SOT is really okey, i got 5h 40min SOT/ 15h standby still 56% available (using only for reading books on chrome browser, maybe some youtube vid, social apps, no games), I can say it's similar to stock global/EEA MIUI
Bad things:
- no camera apk, is any anx available for mi 10?
- Fingeprint scanner is working little better than xiaom.eu rom, but worse than global/EEA stable MIUI - just like czarek1212 said whole screen is flashing to max brightness when scanning fp
- after remove pin/password, it's removes all finger scans also face id
- gallery app is crashing, im using google photos
- setting "recognizing music on lockscreen" is not working
- missing feature "wake up on pickup", it woulb be really nice if u can add this
Overall is very good ROM, im gonna use it as daily. Thank you for your work

Blame xiaomi for not releasing kernel sources... Without custom kernel i cant make fod brightness work normally ... And I wont add wake up on puck up feature...

The gallery crashing issue dissapeared after flashing with newest TWRP.

You can install any camera from play store or gcam.

Guys, can anyone upload sort of a "video review" of this rom? I would like to see it in action before I unlock bootloader etc

I didn't follow up - do the AOSP ROMs in general have dual apps feature enabled, or not?

Well if you don't find anything good in it, don't ask about it. The EU has the best of the 3 major stock version's and these extras on top. You won't get all of this in any stock version.
We can hope for another custom ROM but all recent versions for other models seem to be based in the EU version anyway, so it says that it has to the best currently.

IN for bugfree, adfree experience, stability and battery life.
EU for updated features and optimizations.

do not know. probably no. there are tweaks of energy saving and others. works amazingly fast and without errors.

Im scare that weekly releases has some bug, not like in stable

I read on the TG group that there are some bugs on MIUIMix, watermark on stock camera, main volume bar wrong position.
Can someone confirm about bugs on MMX?

Turning the option ON to Always doesn't stay always on and screen goes blank after sometime. I've also tried to disable MIUI Battery Optimization in Developer Settings but no go. Hope to see some developer step up and do the trick to set AOD to always display the missed call and message notifications.

For the most part it is fine but this is right after being idle for 30 min and it stays like this all day long and I think it is killing my battery because I can't even make it a full day any more

you could put some apps to sleep on the settings if Pixels have this option. Also, not used ram is wasted ram

You should utilize the apps that help find what's going on.
I always keep gsam battery monitor pro.
But for some more info betterbatterystays is a good way to start.
If you're not getting good battery then something is up. Probably a rouge app running in the background.
I'll download that app and check my ram.
What rom are you on/rooted/models installed.
More information you provide the faster you'll get help.
I'm personally on A11 crDroid v7.13
And I get on average 1 hour SOT/10% battery.
I do usually only run the device from 30-80%
I try to stay between this in hopes to preserve battery. Considering the ridiculous price Google got out of us.
My back camera lens is cracked and I'm honestly considering a pixel 4a.. I don't 5g anyway.
Edit: so here is where I'm at ATM

@andybones I did state at the bottom of my first post that I'm on Stock A12 and Cleanslate Kernel but I didn't mention that I am currently rooted and I have AccA module installed and set to charge to 80% I have the GoogleDialerMod module, Universal Safety Net Fix module, BusyBox module and More Live Pixel Wallpapers by Typhus_ I've used the paid version of those apps that you mentioned but I usually don't find anything all though I haven't since this started.

I believe it does. I have it set to doze immediately. and my texts don't suffer from coming in. and things like gmail work fine as long as turning off battery optimization.
so for me it's beneficial.
It's probably close to what Proton ROM is missing:

yeah thermal throttling is there to stop the cpu overheating and damaging itself and other components . anyone with any sense will avoid this crap like the plague . i see hes pushing this crap on telegram too !

I installed the pixel plus UI, this ROM comes with CPU monitor, the clock core 0 - 3 round 300 - 1900 Mhz the core 4 - 7 300 - 2.4 Mhz

If there are Roms, such as Pixel Experience, Pixel Experience GSI and Pixel Plus UI, they have this module installed, I have not rooted my Xiaomi because I use bank apps

but the difference is noticeable at first, the clock speed in these Rome is higher than the speed that miui brings by default

the temperature, watching videos and not doing anything demanding, is between 37 - 40 degrees, while playing it rises to a exigent games or doing exigent tasks the temperatures increase to maximum of 45 degrees

is this compatible in A13 roms? like pixel exp.?
