I had my Note 3 AT&T bricked and stuck in bootloop too, from Android 4.4 KitKat OTA upgrade too. The method linked below helped me to unbrick it, but note that it's based on the KitKat version leaked from AT&T in January, and it will not take the official OTA upgrade, nor can you downgrade from it to any lower version. Folks are working on a way to upgrade it to the official OTA, and independent work is done on rooting, I'm sure, but for now I'm stacked with the "leaked KitKat". Nevertheless it works very well, no issues with it whatsoever. Even my biggest complaint against version 4.3 - the GPS issue, is fixed now. Read more about this unbrick method at:

might be because there are no 4.4.3 note 3 there are 4.4.2 note 3 but if you are trying to downgrade the 4.4.2 nc2 ota it cant be done if you are trying to downgrade the leaked version use the mj5 restore in the general section

Nexus 6 5.1 Bootloader

When I first got the N6 in June I immediately unlocked the bootloader and flashed CyanogenMod 12. Now I remember reading beforehand that if you updated your device to 5.1 via the factory images or OTA, that the bootloader cannot be downgraded anymore. I made sure to not do this so my N6 is on the very first bootloader still and I haven't had any issues.
Now, I feel like I read that there was a reason to want to downgrade and a reason for not wanting this new bootloader but I can no longer find any information on this whole topic, other than people saying yo ucannot downgrade.
I'm asking if there are potentially issues if I do update or if it's ok to stay on my current old bootloader when I update to 6.0 soon?

You couldn't downgrade from a 5.1 bootloader to a 5.0 bootloader, because the 5.1 bootloader brought some new security features in. I don't know of any reason why you would want to downgrade the bootloader.
There is no reason to not upgrade it either, though as far as I am aware, 6.0 will work with a 5.1 BL, just don't think it will work with a 5.0 one.
I see, thank you!

rooted note 8, can I update?

I know I have posted multiple times asking the same question, sorry about that still learning how this works. I am aware that if I do a software update, I will lose root. However it has been quite some time and I would like to update if I can. My worry is, will I brick my phone?. This is a link to steps I followed to root my phone. I am still very new to this, sorry. And thank you for you help! Love XDA

Yo will not get OTA updates while rooted, but you can download any available firmware for your device/country/opearator, one consideration to take into account: if you want to downgrade for any reason, you must not install a firmware with a higher bootloader version

[Help] Installing 6.1 on Galaxy S4 Active (i537)

Hi - a year or so ago I degraded from 5.1 to 4.x
I am now looking to upgrade to 6.1.
I need to be able to get 6.1 on, and then remove root & SU.
Can anyone help me with a guide on how to do this?

All of the guides seem pretty convoluted/outdated. I click the 5.0.1 and the thread is empty...
All I want to do is flash 5.0.1, or 6.1, or whatever is easiest.
I am currently on a flashed 4.4.2 - Rooted w/ Towelroot, but I would prefer NOT to be rooted when I upgrade.
Just a simple flash of the OTA 5.0.1 will do nicely, preferably with a security patch update prior to March 1, 2019. Having a hard time finding a simple guide to just simply flash it. Everything seems to be very complicated trying to keeproot, etc, which I am just not really trying to do.
I just want 5.0.1 or greater on an already flash 4.4.2 device. (I can't to OTA from device.)

The threads definitely aren't blank, I just looked at them. Since you're rooted it's not as simple as just flashing the update, you need to be on unrooted firmware to start with. The guides explain everything. Make sure you read everything and follow the directions exactly. You'll have to completely wipe your phone since you're rooted, but it's all explained in the guides.

How to downgrade from BTA8 (or how to bypass Bootloader protection)?

Hello people,
I need your help.
I've made greatest mistake of my life by updating ROM of my Samsung S10+ Exynos to this Android 10 ROM: sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s10-plus/firmware/SM-G975F/ILO/download/G975FXXU4BTA8/316086/
Now, I need to downgrade to 9.0, because all intent features are "secured" (or just broken) on 10.0 and don't work as they did at 9.0. And, because G975FXXU4BTA8 uses Bootloader 4, I can't downgrade to previous ROMs that use Bootloader 3 and lesser.
I will be happy with any instruction or solution that will allow me to bypass Bootloader protection, or that will allow me to patch previous ROMs to use Bootloader 4 instead of 3 to successfully downgrade, no matter how difficult and complex they are.
Actually, I don't care about downgrade, as long as I can use all intent features in Android 10.0 as I could in Android 9.0, but I don't see any solution so far.
Any advice is welcome,
Thanks!
Since you're on bootloader 4, I don't think you can go back at all as there isn't a work around as far as I know.

Aren't there any custom ROMs in existence that allow to install Android 9.0 over Bootloader 4 as if nothing happened?
There might be, you would have to check the forums here. I have a snapdragon model, so no root or custom ROMs for me.
