Question Battery Draining, MIUI 13 Update vanish, Task manager. - Redmi Note 10 Pro

1. I use redmi note 10 pro. But for a few days my battery is getting drained like 14-20% when the phone is idle, during sleep at night.
I looked in the battery and performance section. There was nothing serious.
I think there's something running in the background which is hiding itself from the system.
In the router configuration page, I found my device sent heavy packages. I thought to do a factory reset but I was thinking if theres another way out.
So I was looking for a task manager which will show me the background running programs cause I can't find it in developer options.
I worry much and I really can't stop thinking that something is mining in my device.
2. And I got an update of miui 13 but I didn't download the update and I can't find it now. I restarted my device several times.
3. The last thing. In the first phase, the 64 MP shots used to take like 30-50 MB and now its like 5-12 MB. And normal shots were like 7-12 MB and now its 2-3. Its so disappointing and theres also details loss. Also I can't find 64 mp in gcam. And gcam .jpg size is totally fine.
Any way to fix them all without installing custom rom?

1. Happens the same to me since I bought it in May. Could not find any solution yet. Sometimes it loses a lot of charge while idle, sometimes it doesn't lose any at all. I tried everything from restricting background usage for all apps that don't have notifications, resetting to factory settings and even flashing MIUI again. Warranty didn't find any problem.
2. Happened to me too for some updates. Got the notification then it disappeared.
3. No idea.
It is so frustrating having this kind of a package only to screw it up with a bad software. Still regret buying this phone.

1. Sorry to say, but the only way i solved it is with flashing a custom kernel. VantomKernel worked the best. From 20% battery drain overnight to 3%. YukiKernel works too, but has an error message every time you reboot the phone.

Q&A for [ROM][AOSP] Google Edition S4/ Pure Nexus[SAFESTRAP] Feb 24th, 2015
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [ROM][AOSP] Google Edition S4/ Pure Nexus[SAFESTRAP] Feb 24th, 2015. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Just flashed this without having any trouble during the process until I powered off afterwards - or, attempted to. It hung on the power off screen, so I had to hold down the power button in order to turn it off. After I booted up again, Google Play Store crashed. I managed to get it to work long enough to install a few other apps (Textra, Lookout, Themer, and Dashclock) by disabling the Play Store app and then opening it. Whenever I tried to open these apps, they crashed upon opening and the app icon changed to the Android bot icon instead of the app's normal icon and the package name instead of the app name. After the first downloaded app crashed, then I got an error that Google Play Store crashed, and its icon changed the same way. I then attempted a factory reset within the ROM, but it hung on the power off screen. I held the power button again, booted back up, and it looks like all the preinstalled apps work except Play Store. When I try to test SuperSU, it says that Play Store has stopped and does not load a list of apps. Now, Google Now is saying that I "need Google Play Services, which is not supported by your device." Any idea what went wrong?
Had a similar problem, my mistake was not to follow the procedure EXACTLY as stated. It turns out that I did not wiped everything except from what's in the sd card, did that and boom! A nice ROM to play with. Give it a try.
I might give it a try again, but I know for a fact that I performed the wipe correctly.
Please, do tell how it went.
Worked this time! Thanks for your help!
Works great but have quite poor battery life, refuses to go into deep sleep.
msm-hsic-host wakelock, horrible wakelock pins the cpu 384 mhz min.
bugs ive found-
using the cast screen button renders a blank screen to my chrome cast.
Yup, battery life is pretty crappy. But had a similar battery life with stock NE3 firmware. In a couple of weeks I'll be getting a new battery. Bought my phone from eBay and it came with a used one, I'm just guessing at the moment.
I lost 30% overnight but this morning changed some wifi settings and loaded up betterbatterystats to see what's causing the wakelocks. Maybe it's something straightforward. I like the aosp a lot and going to try and make this rom work as a daily driver.
I'll post any findings or improvements.

If possible go to the "raw info" in bbs, and check out your kernel wake locks, as far as the software went on this rom I saw no serious wakelocks, but when I switched to kernel view that's where the problem was. I lost all 80% over a period of ten hours while sleeping the other day. Thats with nothing installed but what came with the rom.

Yep, same here. Phone never enters deep sleep. After about 3 hours lost 10% of battery. 80% of the partial wakelocks were msm_hsic_host wakes.
I think the issue has to do with the wifi. Even though wifi is set to be off when the screen's off, betterbatterystats shows the wifi is on 100% of the time. This makes some sense since there appears to be an issue with the wifi driver where after a full reboot my wifi won't work until I do a hotboot. This happens for everyone else right?
I will try and look into the wifi fix that was part of the masterpatch and see if that provides any fixes.

This is a known issue on the S4 Active as discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2412645
Flashing the file labeled "S4 Active Speaker Phone Fix" aka "S4_Active_Call_Record_Fix.zip" fixed this issue for me.
ChristopherXDA, it appears you were involved in the original fix!
Joe-Tech, you may want to incorporate the zip's changes to the sound configs in /system/etc/snd_soc_msm into your next S4 Active build.
Ha, oh man thats a little embarassing. You're right, that fix works on this Rom too.
I tried some of the other fixes though like for Wi-Fi in the masterpatch and that doesn't work on this rom.

The rom is generally problem free. Aside from the battery life, it's quite solid. Both of his nexus style roms have this msm_hsic_host wakelock problem (I've tested the GE S4 rom). He is aware of this issue. Unfortunately, he has had some personal things happen lately, so he's not available to work on the rom. Family comes first.
Also, I recently test DS Battery Saver from the Play Store. Even on its most aggressive battery saving mode, deep sleep was never entered. So, don't bother.

force shutdown

Hello guys
1st of all request to all moderators please do not close or delete this thread.
i am living in a country where Motorola is not officially available so any help from you guys be appreciated. So before we start let me give you few insights
i am having random force shut down issue with my nexus 6 ever since i bought it problem was in Android version 5.0.1 At the moment i am using NON ROOTED Nexus 6 32GB ( XT 1100 international version ) running official 5.1.1 android version. in and i am living in Pakistan where temperature in summer goes upto 45C - 103F

Now comes the issue i am facing random force shutdown by force i meant when i turn it on i can see background apps running. sometimes when i turn on cell phone and as soon as it reaches home screen it shutdown again and when i try to turn it back on it says android is starting and start optimizing app and when eventually when its starts working i have to enter all wifi passwords because again the shutdown wipes all my wifi passwords.
It's F***ing annoying i have spent US$ 800 for a device which shuts down it self when i really needed it. the behavior has been inconsistent in terms of frequency sometimes phone works great for 3 4 days
So please guide me is it hardware issue or software should i root the cellphone and install different rom / kernel.

You can try rooting the phone and flashing a custom kernel so you can underclock or lower the cpu speed to keep temps lower. Have you tried a data factory reset or reflashing the stock rom again first, maybe that will help. Do you have warranty in case of a hardware faillure?
have you tried raising your voltage? you would need root for that though, by around 10-25mV.
Unlock the bootloader and flash the latest 5.1.1 factory image and then shutdown your phone and charge it to 100% and then tell us the results
I am already running 5.1.1... You want me to root and install again? Can please share the url
I have tried factory reset but it didn't help.. As for temperature screenshot was tken when cellphone was charging. Idely temps remain at 45C
I don't have any warranty in case of hardware faliure

Try flashing a custom rom on your phone first and see if the random shutdowns are resolved if not then it is hardware fault,

to be honest there was huge improvement for gpu. way less dropped frames in heavy games. probs some new drivers for gpu...
I don't have any problem with B132 update, but sometimes and some users (me too) reports higher battery drain. This maybe due to this update may turn on wifi for geolocation even if wifi is turned off. It can be checked in Settings->Advanced settings->Location services, tap bottom Menu, then tap the Scan settings. And there maybe turned on wifi.

I look on tmobile official page and there was no mention of oreo update of this phone. I looked at this webpage https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-35970
Can you post your screenshot?
It is indeed live. I have Oreo on one device, trying to go back to stock on my second device and re-root.
For my device (on 26.7), it says it's up to date. They're rolling the update in waves.

For the uninitiated and those who just forgot, is there a dead simple way to install the firmware on a stock T-Mobile Z2 Force using a microSD card, or does it need to be done through ADB? I've already downloaded both files (the 900MB really long filename and the 2.3GB zip file) from the other thread.
Well, I just received the Oreo Update on my TMO Moto Z2 Force and now no one can hear me during phone calls. Phone was working perfectly until Oreo installed and my phone rebooted. Going to try and wipe cache in Recovery to see it that does anything. I wouldn't be too anxious to update until a few peeps have chimed in.
Update: I was able to get my phone to work correctly, but only after completely disabling WiFi Calling. It seems something has broken in regards to WiFi calling. I have tried everything I can think of to get it to work with that option active. I don't use WiFi calling anyways, so no big deal for me, but still should not have happened to begin with.
To be honest, I haven't talked to anyone yet. But my stand by at night went from a 9 percent drain to about 3 percent. I haven't encountered any issues yet. I'm hoping it got rid of the audio hissing mine had sometimes and random audio anomalies in YouTube.
No fair
I have not rooted or anything. I had the update two days ago. Everything works fine with me. WiFi calling no problem.

Those were spin lock errors in the audio driver that were fixed in kernel upstream of 4.4.72-76 so it should have those fixes since it is 4.4.78.
It will still have some of the ipv6 latency spikes that randomly happen on web pages unless Moto cherry picked those net fixes from 4.4.97-106
The audio issues are somewhat solved. If the YouTube video is in the background, it's fine. But the audio hissing is still present if I'm watching the video. It's only in YouTube. I'm considering buying the Google usb c audio adapter to see if it's an issue with the proprietary moto audio protocol.

I assume no. But to find the answer i think you should post in the oreo thread with the question. Few people have flashed orea on their phones so they should be able to answer your question.
So funny story... I own two of these tmobile devices... one stock, one unlocked and rooted. My stock device is still on august security patch and isnt receiving ota updates at all. So I called tech support cuz something is obviously wrong. first, they couldn't comprehend that I was talking about ANY update and not just Oreo... I haven't received OCT or Nov patches even... Then, since they were stuck on oreo what was interesting as the tech support people at Tmobile say that the latest release for our phone is 7.1.1 August patch... which we all know is wrong for several reasons. Needless to say I am not impressed with their tech department...

My standby drain has been the opposite. It's a little worse for me that in 7.1. I went from about 1-2%/hr in standby to around 5%/hr in standby. I've been off the charger for a little over 3 hours today with just 9 minutes of SoT and I'm at 86%. I'm not complaining, it's not bad, but before it was spectacular. Now it's just average.
I'm usually on wifi, that is my usual use scenario. I get around, no joke about 6 hours plus sot. As for my audio issues are still prevalent and now my netflix is a black screen all the time. But overall I'm still happy with the update. If I turn on power saver my standby time tanks lol. I think it turns off my wifi and tries to hold on to my one or two signal bars. I'm debating unlocking bl and rooting, but I really haven't felt a need. I'm probably alot more forgiving of the z2 issues due to I picked it up at 375.

my worse download experience .... meh
Best rom for the Mi 10 I have come across. Really stable with all features working + Magisk. Heaps better than Miui. Only little 'bug' is that sometimes after the fingerprint reader the brightness randomly goes up or down.
Do faceunlock works?
yes works fine
Is anyone daily driving this ROM?
What are your thoughts on it?
I'm looking to switch from MIUI but every ROM for umi I tried so far was pretty disappointing.
I've been using it as a daily for a couple of days now and it works pretty well. It's definitely a bit more heavy on the battery than miui is, bit overall the experience has been nice. The bugs I've ran into are: automated brightness is a bit hit and a miss. I can't seem to switch the bottom buttons, which is annoying with my muscle memory. I had 1 or 2 apps that won't start, but I guess that's more of a dev issue than a rom issue. Lastly, I don't think quick charge is working, it really takes a lot longer to charge my phone. Overall, I'm a happy user, but I think I'll go back to miui once 13 is available for global.
thanks, I ended up switching to this ROM but after 2 days went back to xiaomi.eu.
Battery drain was quite high plus it charged pretty slow.

Seems like every A12 rom has battery drain, this and evox version.
I flashed the rom via twrp recovery but im stuck on the boot, usually takes more or less 10-15 minutes depends of the rom but in this case i have more than 30 minutes on the logo image. Its normal? im come miui firmware 12.5.10
P.D: Ok i fixed, i flashed previuosly another rom and now it works. but when i would like to enter on recovery mode, come in a loop and never finish. This behaviour don't happen on evolution x rom
P.D: Fixed start loop when i want to enter to recovery. Just flashed another recovery with A12 support (https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/twrp-for-android-12-mi-10-and-other-models.64186/)
Hello, I like this ROM very much. Do you plan to build this ROM on xiaomi10 pro(cmi) ?

so automated brightness is something no dev can do much about due to the kind of sensors we have in all new phones nowadays...
about the apps that are not opening please provide some logs about that.. (also try the new build its gona be up soon maybe it was just a random thing)
about the battery.. so if you just turn off aod and pocket mode the battery will become very good! its just that we have a wakelock issue with the proximity sensor thats preventing the phone from gowing into deepsleep and even into good idle so just try turning pocket mode off ( the switch for it will be available in the new build again coming soon)
about the charging.. i didnt see any issues personaly... i use the 30W stock xiaomi charger that came in the box and i always get 30+ watts according to FKM but the ui on the lockscreen doesnt always report the speed correctly but am working on fixing that but in general the phone charges very fast and even faster that miui for me so idk what the issue could be for you...
anyway am working on fixing everything at the end this is my daily driver and i only work on this rom and am gona switch to a new Device tree and kernel very soon and hopefully i get everything more stable than ever
if you or anyone got any qustions or any issue feel free to DM me on telegram @mountaser_halak

right now am focusing on getting umi stable then yah maybe i will build for cmi so just give me some time xD
download so slowly...
but tks for your work anyway!its an amazing rom
I flash the ROM (20220118 version) for a few days. It works well. I appreciate that it could freely control the network for most of the system and user's apps, therefore I need not use LSPosed or XEdposed to deal with it.
The battery drain is a little big. Variation of the automated brightness is unsatisfactory, and a few apps occasionally do not response.
This is simply the best ROM I tested with a ton of features but something in this rom prevents having full screen and battery is bad but I think this is the problem of all A12 Rom
my bad, wrong
reverting from this to xiaomi.eu google messages chat service stopped working and the phone kees getting recognized as google pixel 2 instead of Xiaomi Mi 10.. any fix for this?
@mountaser halak thanks for your work.
Could It be possible to implement chinese firmware in next builds?
It would enable double sim support.
