i want to root, but as i read, it's no possible unless i get back to emui 9
so is that working? downgrade or rollback to emui 9 then root it?

Can I use TWRP 3.2.3.0 (the newest one) for rooting a Huawei P9 Plus VIE-L09 running Android 6 EMUI 4.1.1? Or else how can I root it?
My a2 phone has updated to android 9 pie v10.0.2.0.PDIMIFJ with anti-rollback is 1. Now I can downgrade to android 8 oreo or convert 6x?

At android one if u have unlock bootloader and critical anti rollback not working you can do everything u want, only be careful if u convert to 6x because anti rollback working unlocked or not.
Questions is after we upgrade to EMUI 9.1 can out device still be rooted with magisk?
As i found that P30 pro is able to root with magisk on EMUI 9.1 successfully.
