Just purchased this nik3r to say thanks for your work on the Elite kernel for the One X+.
I tend to use 50%, 65% or 85% brightness depending on the lighting, so this'll allow me to finetune the screen backlight levels to my liking & hopefully save a bit of battery in the process.
One small issue on AOKP 4.1.2 for the One X+ though is that the button backlight doesn't ramp up & down along with the screen brightness.
I was under the impression that it is mean to?
Or is this feature only supported under Sense roms on the One X+?

For One X+ you need to use root mode to get reliable on/off and stock-based ROMs don't support smooth levels, unfortunatelly.
Maybe AOSP ROMs will add the support, because I doubt it is a hardware limitation but rather driver issue.

some feedback from me:
this app is awesome! it does exactly what it should and the calibration process makes it very simple to set it up to the values i prefer for autobrightness. there's no need anymore to create/flash mods to reduce autobrightness settings.
i also have some suggestions for future versions:
some more explanations on settings (at least for the core section), profiles and app exceptions since not everything there is self explanatory.
but as this does not affect basic functionality of this app, i'd give 5 stars for this one. i recommend it to everyone who wants to improve battery life by easily setting his own values for brightness levels!

this good software

Let me just say based on my experience that Lumos app in terms of battery and functionality is a very great app! It does exactly what I expect from an quality Automatic brightness manager. Did I mention that Lumos supports apps exception too? Just Perfect!
Developer support is also superb! I've been using Lux since it was free and also purchased the paid app but uninstalled it when Lumos came out and never looked back again.

New version
New version of Lumos v1.3.1 will appear on the Play Store shortly.
It now fully supports smooth button backlight management on some newer One X and X+ custom kernels like EliteKernel and Blade kernel.
Also you can for example set the buttons backlight to be off for your video player using an exception.

Brilliant Application, actually this is one is truly worked for me. I absolutely love this awesome app.
One small request though, I do live in tropical country at times when I take out mobile in direct sunlight the app takes some time to auto adjust the brightness, It is is important for me to see caller or message immediately, can this speed-ed up ? or how about when phone is turned on in direct sunlight the screen turns to max brightness then auto adjusting to optimum value so that I can see the calls/messages from.

The thing is, once the call window appears, no app can change brightness until the call ends (at least on htc). The control is returned to android and there is no workaround i know of. I'll take a second look later in case something changed in 4.2.
If you turn the display on, the sensor sample queue is wiped so the change should be almost immediate. But the call turns it on in your pocket and then returns control to android.
Maybe you could try to add an exception for the phone app and force the display high, but I don't think that will work either.

How to install:​1. Requires an unlocked bootloader and TWRP !!!

10. Due to the lack of space in the system partition, massive sawing was necessary. The first thing, demolished the Asus Mobile Manager. 14. I borrowed the brightness levels of the display from Zenphon 2 and added a few to reduce the minimum manual and auto brightness
15. Firmware already rooted, built-in SuperSu
16 Modified ZenUI Launcher with autorotate homescreen, smooth scaling, extra font sizes, extra dock bar

Current known issues :
1. Randomly turn on camera led after wake screen with double tap/press power button. For turn off led should lock/unlock screen again

3. Powersave modes work incorrectly. very often max freq decrease to 1333 or 1600 MHz. Also try to fix
4.Camera closed when make photo

By using twrp 3.0.M5-0,
1. advance wipe select dalvik,system,cache, and data
2.wipe format data then type YES
3. Reboot to recovery again
4. install zip file BORETS24.

Confirm. But if you switch video resolution from FullHD to HD for front camera - blur will not. I changed codecs and camera config and don't remember, stock have FullHD for front camera or not?

Fod is kinda buggy (needs time), testing off screen fingerprint now, when i get it more stable i would add update

Just did it correctly yesterday, for one day usage i could tell that this seems to be most fluid rom for me despite a lot of customisations, fingerprint for me works well if light is cyan... Works just like it did on miui mutch-less .... Only parts of the system i could wish to be better are battery and charging optimisation.... Is there anyway to improve that? I mean implement miui charge and play with background tasks a bit ?
Overall best rom out there for me personally....

As you know, MIUI turbo charge is based on closed-source QC3, so no way to get 30W charging... But better to have 18W, It doesn't harm too much the battery.
About optimization, i'm working to reduce active drains changing some implementations (my first build for internal testing before this one drained a lot more of battery, remembered me a Galaxy S6, but with time hope Will get better).
My tip for now is to use Franco Kernel Manager and change little governor to powersave, with min freq ~700 MHz, improves the battery life

Im using smartpack with min Freq of cpu at 300 for both big and little cores... It really save standby drain but its only in deep sleep. About qc3 i have noticed that sometimes when i plug in the phone it goes to 3000 mah for a 10-15 secs and then revert back to 18w 2000 mah that's why i assumed that it is possible indeed. Looking at charger specifications it doesn't look like qc3, more like miui custom solution

I play on powersave on little cores, schedutil on bigger ones... Saves me a lot on inactive, but on active i will look into telephony services to get better battery

Actually i figured out what causes battery drain... Always on ambient display consumes about 9% battery for about 5hrs with modified gov

Look, im not bashing the rom im Indeed using it as daily driver, i just pointing out things that can be better over time so ve can have absolutely best experience possible

For the most part it is fine but this is right after being idle for 30 min and it stays like this all day long and I think it is killing my battery because I can't even make it a full day any more

you could put some apps to sleep on the settings if Pixels have this option. Also, not used ram is wasted ram

You should utilize the apps that help find what's going on.
I always keep gsam battery monitor pro.
But for some more info betterbatterystays is a good way to start.
If you're not getting good battery then something is up. Probably a rouge app running in the background.
I'll download that app and check my ram.
What rom are you on/rooted/models installed.
More information you provide the faster you'll get help.
I'm personally on A11 crDroid v7.13
And I get on average 1 hour SOT/10% battery.
I do usually only run the device from 30-80%
I try to stay between this in hopes to preserve battery. Considering the ridiculous price Google got out of us.
My back camera lens is cracked and I'm honestly considering a pixel 4a.. I don't 5g anyway.

@andybones I did state at the bottom of my first post that I'm on Stock A12 and Cleanslate Kernel but I didn't mention that I am currently rooted and I have AccA module installed and set to charge to 80% I have the GoogleDialerMod module, Universal Safety Net Fix module, BusyBox module and More Live Pixel Wallpapers by Typhus_ I've used the paid version of those apps that you mentioned but I usually don't find anything all though I haven't since this started.

I believe it does. I have it set to doze immediately. and my texts don't suffer from coming in. and things like gmail work fine as long as turning off battery optimization.
so for me it's beneficial.
It's probably close to what Proton ROM is missing:

yeah thermal throttling is there to stop the cpu overheating and damaging itself and other components . anyone with any sense will avoid this crap like the plague . i see hes pushing this crap on telegram too !

I installed the pixel plus UI, this ROM comes with CPU monitor, the clock core 0 - 3 round 300 - 1900 Mhz the core 4 - 7 300 - 2.4 Mhz

If there are Roms, such as Pixel Experience, Pixel Experience GSI and Pixel Plus UI, they have this module installed, I have not rooted my Xiaomi because I use bank apps

the temperature, watching videos and not doing anything demanding, is between 37 - 40 degrees, while playing it rises to a exigent games or doing exigent tasks the temperatures increase to maximum of 45 degrees

is this compatible in A13 roms? like pixel exp.?
