Not for sure but you may need the Wearables Manager Installer too. The Buds+ need all to run.
They need full permissions as well to load.
Try a network reset otherwise.

So I installed couple of plugins, give them all the permissions and reset my network.
Installed managers as well.
So this time when I'm trying to pair, the galaxy wearable just closes itself now. When I open it again it says that I need galaxy watch4 manager.
And for some reason those plugins keep automatically disabling.

You need all the apps. With the Buds up also need these. The watch is likely similar.
Since I have a Samsung it was preloaded with the Wearables Manager and maybe some others so when it saw the device it automatically updated through the Galaxy Store. Latter after a bad update, I had uninstall all of them and use my backup app copier that were know good. At first I missed these two below and was doing what you're doing now -cursing-
There are other sites with install primers for the Galaxy 4 Watch.

You got the 3 critical ones, right?
Power off watch.
Network reset.
Reboot phone... power on the watch.
Open bluetooth and look for new devices.
Play with it. Try coupling the Buds.
If you can clear the system cache, do so.
Doing a factory reset will only teach you new curse words... don't.

I think you need the Watch4 Plugin, not the Watch Plugin since it's using the new Wear OS, not the Tizen OS.
Also, I can pair my Watch 4 normally with the Global Version.

I'm not even sure witch ones are critical anymore it's 2 am and I have been trying to pair this damn watch whole day now. Lol
And I already did factory reset two times this past 2 weeks, learned lots of new curse words lol

Okay, so when I'm downloading that watch 4 plugin it's actually apears later on the phone as a galaxy watch4 manager, idk if that makes any sense.
Still not pairing after installing all plugins and resetting network and stuff

When I try to pair this watch now it says that I need galaxy watch4 plugin but I already have it installed on my phone.
When I press ok, it just transfer me to play store with blank screen.
When I tried to pair this watch with my old OnePlus 6t it also said that I need that plugin and transfeed me to download it with no problem and watch works just fine. But with 11 ultra there is some problem

I also had this issue. I couldnt pair it with my mi 11 ultra. I also couldnt use android auto with it. That was with the stock global rom. So I ended up installing xiaomi eu rom on it and suddenly everything worked. I could pair my galaxy watch 4 classic to it, android auto started working.
Hope this helps.

How to BT pair any device without resetting Galaxy Gear

Note this will only bluetooth pair, *not* gear manager connect. I know, limited use, but perhaps this step might help some other dev move forward in creating compatibility with other devices than samsung (especially those who don't have one, like me!
1. Build and install this app: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14228289/android-device-bluetooth-pairing (or any app that can unpair / remove bonds)
2. Use it to unpair with your current gear manager device (click on the device in the list in the app, it should remove it)
3. Now, pair with your non samsung device
4. Should now pair without resetting
another approach
1. Pair and reset with another non samsung device. It will pair but that's it.
2. Pair with your Samsung Device (or go to the store and pair with a demo model)
3. Your device should still be paired with your non samsung device
For people who are trying gear manager connect via another device, there has been some success by installing all of the accessory APKs here:
http://www.mediafire.com/folder/iej2...Android43)_All
And then trying to connect. Note how it goes from 0/19 folders to 0/2 or so.
Another approach suggested: (hat tip jtuzyk : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2488516, reported to work with HTC One and Moto X)
Using another method i came across i was able to pair with HTC one, answer calls and use watch styler
1. Install Galaxy Gear APK manually
2. When Galaxy Gear App opens it tries to install 0/19 files it will restart and say 0/18
3. When it says 0/18, locate "GEAR" folder on SDCARD, inside it will create another APK. Manually install this apk.
4. Close Gear App and Repeat Process, i got all the way down to 0/8 (Music service apk fails) but the Gear is still usable for calls.

Anyways, let us know your success and failures and what platform / version of os you tried it on. Any information you provide can be helpful.
Tried it on various apple products, and it works! And by it, I mean only the dialer, and the watch speakerphone.

Yeah, that Bluetooth headset part is the only part that works without the gear manager (works like a standard Bluetooth headset)

P20Pro and Samsung Gear S3 watch

Got my new P20Pro today - coming from a Mate 10 Pro. Love the phone and everything works great except the Samsung gear app and my Samsung Frontier S3 watch (AT&T LTE version). The app downloads and i can pair the watch and restore my watch settings but when i try to open Samsung pay the Samsung pay gear plug-in doesn't install and if i try to look at watch faces or apps, I get an error "this device does not support gear" - any idea how to fix/troublshoot this?
Hi, we are all in the same situation.
We have to wait for Samsung to update gear app
Look in this thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-s3/themes/galaxy-apps-huawei-p20-t3774050
Thanks for pointing out that post - I hadn't thought to look in the p20 forums. I guess we'll have to wait for Samsung to update the Gear app. In the meantime, I was able to use appsharer to move the Samsung pay framework and Samsung pay gear plugin from my mate10 pro to the p20pro and install them without any problems (just after install, you need to clear cache/storage on both apps to reset them) so I have Samsung pay working fine on my gear d3 connected to the p20 pro -just missing ability to download new apps/watchfaces

Cool, happy for you if everything work well except watchface, so if you still have your mate 10 pro can you share the mms.apk for messaging please
I tried to find it and couldn't. No messaging app appears in the list - i didn't root my phone so don't know where/how to find individual apk's. I wanted to move that one too as the p20 doesn't come with a stock messaging app (so i'm using textra)
Download Pay Plug in from the net and install and it will work.

Hi,
On your Samsung Gear S3 Frontier (WiFi only version), if Samsung Pay is not working after pairing with Huawei P20 Pro due to no Samsung Pay Plugin available in the app, here is how I managed to make it work.
If you already reset and paired your watch, you can skip to Step 4.
1. Hard reset your Gear S3 (Turn off, press and hold Power button until you see the logo don't release the Power button, seconds later you will see the logo and a blue colored 'rebooting', once you see it repeatedly press on Power button until you see the bios-like like menu, by pressing the Power button you can browse the menu, stop at 'recovery' and keep pressing the Power button then quickly press the Home button, your watch will restart to its factory settings).
2. Download and install Samsung Gear app on your phone, get it from Play Store. Once you open the app, it may ask to install two more required apps, Gear S Plugin and Samsung Accessory Service.
3. Pair your watch and phone. So far nothing fancy.
4. Download and install Samsung Pay using your phone from apkmirror (a security question will pop up asking to allow to install an app from a third party, just accept).
5. On your watch, press and hold the Home button to start Samsung Pay, this will ask you to continue setup on your phone.
6. On your phone, Samsung Pay will start and may state an updated version of Samsung Pay is available for you watch version, accept and it finish updating on your watch.
7. Start Samsung Pay as in Step 5. At this point, the app on your phone asks to set a passcode or pin on your watch for security.
8. You are all set now and can add your credit/debit cards as usual.
This is my first post and thank you for your support and for an amazing XDA app.

P20 pro & S3
Hello,
This thread is a few months old now, does anyone know if there has been an update Samsung’s end? Just taken delivery of P20 pro and want the S3 watch mainly for its offline Spotify feature. Don’t want to pay £250 if it won’t work. Not interested in android pay (as my bank isn’t supported) but do want texts and WhatsApp to work. Any advice would be appreciated.
I have had the p20 pro since shortly after release and have had no issues with it's relationship with my S3 (non lte), it works seemlessly.
I wasn't aware of any issues, I have only just stumbled across this thread.

Brilliant, thank you. I'll go and buy one then

Wearable not compatible

Yesterday I reset my Gear S3 frontier. On trying to pair it with my P20, Galaxy wearable wouldn't launch. I uninstalled wearable. It now will not show up when I search for it in the Play store, only the plug ins are listed
. I tried to install from my library and "not on this device" through Play store and it says the current version isn't compatible with my device. Samsung support blame Huawei and Huawei blame Samsung Wearable. In the mean time, I'm left with a watch I can't use, after it working fine for five weeks.
Any ideas on a fix. Or if anyone has had similar, I'd really appreciate a reply. Many thanks.
Hi mate. same happened to me with mi gear s3. if you have you bootloader unlocked, you won't be able to download many apps from playstore including galaxy wearable. download the apk from samsung offical page. it will work.

Need help cracking Samsung VR app

As some of you know, Samsung not only stopped supporting Samsung VR, they actually sabotaged the app totally by not allowing new installs to open.
Essentially there is a user agreement that you have to agree to but it requires an “internet connection” to accept but this is the part which was sabotaged.
I believe that Samsung took the verification server offline so the app always thinks you are not connected.
I need someone to look into how that verification happens and how it can be circumvented.
As a backup, if anyone knows a SPECIFIC version of Samsung VR app which does not have this verification process (sideloaded) please post the version.
UP i need too please somebody help
anyone who has a samsung vr app backup via titanium backup please share
Only the old ones work without Internet connection. The last working one is Samsung VR 1.59.4.
Check here: android-apk.org/com.samsung.vrvideo/
It also works with the Oculus Go.
Can anyone test this with an Oculus Quest 2 ?

Made a little progress....
I was playing around trying to get Gear VR to work on my new Galaxy S20 plus, I tried installing Occulus from the app store but when I plugged the phone into the GearVR nothing would happen, so I Extracted all the Occulus and GearVR apps from my old S9 into APK's and then sideloaded them onto my S20, and now when I plug it in, it tries to load the setup program but it comes up with an error saying I have no network connection.... is there any way around this?
hi,
i found workaround
1. uninstall Gear VR SetupWizard ( 3.2.03.9 )
2. install version ( 3.0.21 ) from aptoide : https://gear-vr-setupwizard.pl.aptoide.com/app
3. run setup, configure, upgrade to newest version
and it works

Just tried. It doesn't work. It installs fine, opens fine (no messages), shows that gridded floor pattern (of very old versions of Samsung VR) but nothing else happens (no buttons to click on, no nothing. Just void.
Did you find a way to make Samsung VR to work on Quest 2 ?

I have the APK for version 2.12.7 and it works fine in my Gear VR with Samsung Galaxy S7 (yes, the phone still works too).
I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do, but it's not only the verification server they shut down. The whole online video server was shut down. So, I do see a "No internet connection" message, but I'm still able to click the other buttons and explore my local media folders using this app, which is exactly what I want to do.
However I was not able to port this version (or any other APK I found) to my Quest 2. The closest I got was to install an Oculus Go APK on the Quest 2, but when I open the app and the "No internet connection" message appears, my Quest 2 controllers are not recognized, so I can't click anywhere to browse my folders. Is that your issue too?
Anyways, I'm in desperate need of a Samsung VR APK that works with Quest/Quest 2. Please let me know if you come across this APK.
I have the same problem with my new Galaxy S10+ now. I cannot accept the terms and conditions in Samsung VR because it says "no internet connection". I tried with SIM and wireless also, but no luck.
I have a Galaxy S9+ too, there i accepted Samsung VR terms and conditions long before Samsung switched off the verification server. So on the S9+ i can still use Samsung VR.
Even tho I noticed in the recent months that on the S9+ it also says "no internet connection", but probably in the appdata folder is a flag or file which they check if you accepted their ToS. If thats not there you cannot go forward to the main menu of Samsung VR.
So I see only one way and this would be you need a Titanium Backup from the Samsung VR app where the ToS are already accepted. Then you also would need to root the new phone that you can install Samsung VR with app data right?
Or is there any way to inject appdata of Samsung VR to your new phone without having root access?
Someone tried that if that even works?

Can confirm that restoring app+data won't work.... at least the backup I found in this thread not.
Restored app+data in Titanium backup and still asks to accept terms with no internet connection..
Best regards,

I just fixed it, the app checks a txt file in the root Android\data\com.samsung.vrvideo folder. I made a zip file of that folder from my Galaxy S9+, it works at the S10+ too. Just copy that folder with the subfolders and the file inside to "Android\data\"
This folder is avaiable even without root. Even tho I dont see any content in that folder with the normal file manager on the phone, but once you plug your Galaxy to a regular PC you can access that Android/data folder.
So when you unzip it, the path to the file should look like this:
Android\data\com.samsung.vrvideo\files inside that folder 2 files: "VR360Video_3_00_0_EULA_agreed.txt" and "MVRI.txt"
My Samsung VR App now opens without that EULA message and works in offline mode.
Let me know if its working!

Great! Yeah I was surprised too, that no one else found it out before. I almost deleted it while resetting my S9+ but then I checked that Android/data folder lol...
I must be missing something here. Aside from the Android\data\com.samsung.vrvideo\files directory and associated files, what other apk's should be installed? I've installed the oculus app from the Play store and it still does not launch when I place my S21 into the Gear VR headset.
The play store oculus app does not work with gearvr. It has to be installed by the gearvr setup app.

Question Can't seem to pair Galaxy Watch 4 with Vivo X70 Pro+ with CN Rom

Dear XDA experts,
Please help! I wasn't able to pair my galaxy watch 4 with the x70 pro + with CN rom.

Anyone able to pair or know of a solution?
I also made the very same experience. it was mentioned in a review a week ago too. so i guess there is no solution right now.

What a pity.. thanks bro.
Since the Galaxy watch 4 relys on wearOS you should be able to pair it with the chinese wearOS app.
I got a GLOBAL Version of the Oppo watch with wearOS and had the same problem. But it worked with that solution... give it a try

My wife is having this issue. She's trying to connect a Fossil Q Venture. She already downloaded Wear Os China, she opened china app and it says device isn't compatible, please download correct version from Play store. She already had the play store version installed. She retried after installing china version but it still stays stuck on the splash screen...Any suggestions? What version of china wear os and regular wear os are you running? Could you offer a more detailed step by step of what you actually did to get it working? Would really appreciate that.

Anyone managed to sync their Garmin watches? According to Garmin's website, the Garmin Connect app requires that the phone "natively support the Google Play store". Guess we're out of luck then... Can't find a Garmin App in Vivostore that could be a solution...?
There may be some confusion about where to get the correct WearOS software to work on the CN firmware. My wife's Galaxy 4 watch stopped working with her Huawei Mate 20 X recently after the phone received a firmware update from Android 11 to Android 12 (it is an older Huawei phone so isn't impacted by the US technology ban on Huawei). After a lot of searching I discovered that if we completely uninstalled the WearOs and Watch Plugin from the phone, and then reinstalled it - NOT from the Google Play Store - but rather from Huawei's App Gallery, then voila, it worked! I have had the same issue with my Galaxy Buds2 on my Vivo X Note (CN firmware). If I uninstall the WearOS software and the Buds Manager plugin from the phone, and then reinstall them from the Vivo App Store they work. The app looks to be identical to the Play Store version, but as an interesting aside it has some Chinese language in a few of the settings submenus. I think Samsung makes one version of their app for Chinese phones, and a different version for Global phones.
I downloaded the wear os from the Vivo asp store and keep getting stuck on the getting yogurt Watch details screen (this is on the Vivo x fold)

* No a full solution currently.
Try to download the Samsung Health app and connect from the Accessories (triple dot -> Settings -> Accessories -> Smartwatch -> Register) option, this should forward you to the official Samsung SSO and allow the association with the device.
Also, make sure to:
1. Backup the watch to a Samsung account before you start because you will have to reset it.
2. Download the necessary Plugin and Manager apps to your Vivo device as they are required by the process.
* I did this to associate my Galaxy watch 4 with the Vivo x80 pro, I'm still working on making it fully connected because it does disconnect but that is some progress in that direction.
Edit: It did fully connect, now I just have to access it through the Health App path but other than that the watch can be managed through the manager app and works the same.

Hi dude, looks like I found a solution, uninstall Wearable and Wear os apps, then download this apk http://samsung-gear.apk.watch/2.2.41.21071361/for/huawei-honor-8, it will install an update to work, and it will install the Wear Os. And that worked like a charm, I hope this works for everyone having the same issue.
