Hey thanks @sd_shadow !
The one I find there, closest to what I have is the following:
New update available!
Codename: #odessa
Carrier(s): Retail EURO
Phone Model(s): XT2087-2-DS/PAKM0003PL
Version: RPAS31.Q2-59-17-4-3-2
Android: 11
Download: Here

And the file downloaded there is:
ODESSA_RETAIL_RPAS31.Q2-59-17-4-3-2_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
Now, I have a doubt: in the file name it says "retail", but in the message description says "retail euro". Is that the same as "reteu"? Lollinet always separates all roms "retail" and "reteu"... I just want to double check because I don't want to screw up anything
Thanks!

If the submodel (XT2087-2-DS) is the same, and the bootloader is unlocked, it should be fine.
Otherwise, if you have a Windows machine you can try LMSA's flash rescue to download the firmware.

[Q] Vetting stock firmware

Where do you guys get your stock firmware from? Reverting to Stock in ios was a non-issue as Apple is always happy to get you back in its walled garden. With Android it seems a little harder and I can't seem to find official (signed) Motorola stock firmware. Furthermore, updating using the Motorola OTA service won't work until I reflash stock recovery. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks

no motorola does not publish these files except a few DEV files for Moto X

see my signature - if your boot loader is unlocked you can flash these (i.e downgrade) upgrades can be done locked - I only have .14 DE available ( now making a .23) but its a 2hr download
heres your full firmware - sorry its a SLOW download - not under my control

Thanks. Yeah I couldn't find any official files or even a md5 /sh1 signature. That would be enough to authenticate the validity of the images. Motorola's website has a few images for Droid and X models as you mentioned but none for the G.
Back in my ios days I felt comfortable installing firmware originating from a few select groups of developers who were well known in the community and there seemed to be a good system in place for peer reviewing their code. Is there such a thing in the Android Community? I mean there's TeamWin, Cyanogen and the likes for mods, but for Stock people just install random files without knowing what's on it?

Hi! I have the same model ... do you know if possible to flash the free version of the rom with the Lenovo moto assistant program? The version that I have "vfeu" never updated, however, the free version is more updated, and I saw that it works better than that of Vodafone ... I do not know if possible to put the firmware retail without bricking the phone? Thank you!

From my understanding, you just need firmware files which are meant to your device variant/region, and you can go back to stock.
And i don't think Motorola will ever change their mind and update it to P.
You will have custom Pie ROM if you want. Otherwise Oreo is last.
[For More, Your question is not clear, can you explain it so we can help you correctly.]
We dont even even officially have oreo , your looking beyond that? Lol

A few dies I've saw a thread here on xda that if you download a folder, paste at the root location of the phone and search for updates the update to android 8 will show up. I can't find this thread that's because I'm here, to know if someone have the files and if it's compatible with my g5s plus (that's why I wrote my phone infos)

What !!!!!!!!!
I have never seen such folder which can trick your phone for OTA !!
There are 3 ways to get OREO,
1) unlock bootloader and install custom ROM.
2) we have soak test zip, install it. (If you install soak zip, you will need to go back to official firmware to take future releases..)
3) register for updates which are soak tests, mfn on Motorola site.
I think he is talking abt
1) dwnld the stock 8.1 rom
2) push to mobile storage in specific folder using adb
3) check on mobile-system update-and it wil show u update
4) restart.
Something like this i think.

Here it is : https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...nt/stockoreo-rooted-users-upgrade-to-t3807835
When Motorola rollsout update for all, you will have to flash official firmware which is meant to your device/region.
Note down current firmware version of your device, so you can have correct firmware...

No full Android One Pie image?

Some of the Android One updates made available are full images, not just an OTA.
Is there a full (non-OTA) Android One pie image available? I've found the instructions to flash a late 8.1 image then the pie OTA but I was still curious.
I think I saw one for retail but I'd like to stay on Android One in case Motorola decides they don't want to support the X4 anymore.

Oh that was perfect, thanks!
Should that URL be added to the list of stock ROM hosts at the bottom of the FAQ? It seems very complete...
Did you read the FAQ thread? Two links there already but added this one as well.
