This might be useful but the process is quite long and complicated and also windows is not as good as android as it is not as stable as the stock rom plus windows does not support touch screen primary devices with full functionality

I did not create this rom and I am not responsible for any result caused by flashing this rom.
A gsi custom os for any android phone, developers claims.
A very cool os, seems even better then oxyjen os.
Brave ones who want to try it on, download is in link below:
All relevant info is inside the youtube video, roms gapps, twrp, every thing needed to flash.
All that is left is to tell you again the usable disclaimer- I did not create this rom and I am not responsible for any result caused by flashing this rom.
If you do exactly what the guide tells you to do there should be no problem, all the info is the youtube video.
Enjoy.
And don't come crying about broken links, not my problem.
Now let's start the flashing!

I think so too
Hi peeps has anyone installed this through adb? And if so can you share the steps? We don't have a working TWRP for OnePlus 7T Pro why make a thread for a ROM that uses this process?

Why would you post to try this if you have not installed on a oneplus 7t pro yet?
Becuse what's the point of a community if you're able to share good information in it. In any other case there are two specific answers :
First- information is valuable even if you are not going to use it.
Second- since I'm have no computer to be able to flash with at all, I have not been able to even root my device.
But as soon as I can get my hands on a computer to flash with I will let you know first, OK?
Now as I already commented above this is not of my creation and I already mentioned that I'm not taking any responsibility for your actions with the information provided, have fun!
I flashed it, it works however the fingerprint scanner doesn't and the front facing camera is a bit iffy. Does boot though.
You can flash it via fastboot as it is just a system.img file.

Question Difference between install via TWRP and without TWRP

Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to android. In fact, Mi 11 is my first android phone. Since the official EU ROM for Mi 11 won't be revealed until Feb 8th, and currently we don't have the TWRP for Mi 11, I'm wondering what is the difference between installing the EU ROM with TWRP and without it? After checking the guide, it looks like if installing with the TWRP, then we can use OTA to install future updates. Other than that, are there any major differences? Also, because I basically have no experience with android, I'm slightly worried about bricking the device when installing the EU ROM. Will it be safer to wait until we have the TWRP for Mi 11?
One last question, anyone with experience of using Xiaomitool V2? It looks like a decent tool that can automate most of the installation process.
Thanks!

Without a Custom Recovery available it's riskier to flash, if you don't know what you are doing you can get yourself a nice brick.

You don't really need to worry about twrp, it's only good for backing up and flashing stuff without a PC.
You can still soft brick the phone with TWRP.
Hard bricking a phone in my opinion is pretty much impossible. The important part is having an unlocked bootloader, fastboot and Google USB drivers installed.
You're also better off installing the Xiaomi EU ROM instead of waiting for the global version. The guide is available and is basically a one click install so can't really go wrong.

Thanks for explaining everything! Do I need to install adb and other drivers beforehand? I assume the ROM zip doesn't include those drivers.

Minimal ADB and Fastboot Tool. That's what you need. Google and download it
It is really very easy to flash the xiaomi.eu via Fastboot if you follow the instructions. Updating via script also works flawlessly.

I also spent the seven days of waiting here in the forum reading. So I was able to gather impressions of how others have successfully flashed.

I saw some people posting about their experiences of bricking their phones, so I got a bit worried. But I gather that the correct drivers are the keys to the success here.

I used the ADB and Fastboot tools given above. Likewise the Mi Unlock Tool. If everything is displayed correctly in the device manager when connecting the Mi 11 with China ROM and activated USB debugging, everything will be fine. I use Windows 10 x64 myself and even connected it to a USB 3 hub. But it should definitely be a high quality USB cable.

I actually meant windows 10. Did you the device manager that comes with windows 10?Since the unlock tool only works with windows, I prepared a separate virtual machine for windows 10.

You're supposed to be able to downgrade without wipe now, since Google went a little Beta overboard, but I haven't had any luck personally.
Especially if you wanna run TWRP(I've tried "Flash Current" & "Ramdisk Recovery" each bootloop without factory reset unless someone knows what I'm doing wrong).

Rooting S2 T710 - best way & is it a good idea?

My favorite tablet by far is my S2 T710, and I can't seem to find a comparable one that can run a more current android version. Many apps crash a lot on it, and I am thinking about rooting it and installing a more recent android to see if that improves things. My questions are
Is it worth doing? Or will I find things like "Netflix no longer works" ,etc?
I see that it requires using odin3, which seems to be just for windows. Since I have just osx and linux, I'm wondering if there is an alternative. And, even if there is, would I be better off borrowing a windows device to be sure of the smoothest installation
Thanks

I am going through the process of trying to install the SM-T710 version of Linage 18.1 (unofficial), see: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...or-sm-t710-july-23-2022.4430339/post-86952281
I do not know if it is necessary to root the device before installing the special version of TWRP that it requires.

Rooting is not necessary. You don't need it for installing TWRP, or installing the custom ROM, or using the ROM.

Odin is not the only way to flash a custom recovery to a Samsung device. There's a package called heimdall for Linux, MacOS, and Windows that can do this.
As a guide, you could look at the LineageOS installation instructions for Samsung devices that have LOS official ROMs. Some of those explain how to use heimdall to install Lineage Recovery.
Obviously, you would substitute TWRP for Lineage Recovery.
For example, see Installing a Custom Recovery using Heimdall https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/beyond1lte/install#installing-a-custom-recovery-using-heimdall in the beyond1lte device instructions. Ignore the other sections of the instructions for that device, and once you have TWRP installed, use it to wipe partitions and flash the unofficial LineageOS ROM.
