Question boot.img 13.0.8.0.SKDEUXM - Xiaomi 11T Pro

Hi everyone,
How can I get the boot.img (either patched with magisk or clean) for the 13.0.8.0.SKDEUXM (11TPro vili - EEA)?
I've performed an OTA update, patched with magisk 24.1 with the option to "install to inactive slot (after OTA)" and now I can't boot into the device.
This is the process I've followed in previous updates, but this time it hasn't worked.
I've tried changing active slots (A/B) and trying to boot, without any luck.
Many thanks!

FYI, i've extracted boot.img from the recovery file:
https://bigota.d.miui.com/V13.0.8.0.SKDEUXM/miui_VILIEEAGlobal_V13.0.8.0.SKDEUXM_5142aa18f5_12.0.zip
Using those instructions: https://www.droidwin.com/extract-pa...The_Need_to_Extract_payload_bin_File_using_PC
If someone needs the untouched boot.ini 13.0.8.0.SKDEUXM (11TPro vili - EEA) file, just let me know.

I have seen that there are problems after updating to miui 13 with the option to "install to inactive slot (after OTA)". How to do it in good way? I have last time almost bricked my device and i don't want to have same ****ty feeling again...

Did you manage to patch with Magisk and install SafetyNet?

I have root on my SM-T295 A8 tablet!!
Attached boot.tar file is for XXU2ASL3 only.
T295-Magisk-AP.tar
Okay, after multiple failed attempts, I read about a method to root my T295. It did not work!! But, I decided to just use Magisk Manager on the boot.img file only. The resultant file would not flash - it will fail. The original boot.img & recovery.img files are 65,536K bytes each. I had to take the Magisk modified boot.img and overlay it onto the original boot.ing file. I did the same for the recovery.img. Then the files would flash successfully. The first thing after booting was to check Magisk Manager. It showed I have Magisk 20.3 installed. So, I tested this with Root Explorer. I did have root!!
If you are going to try this, you need to unlock your boot loader, I think. I have not tried this with a locked bootloader.
Hi gcrutchr,
You mind telling me the steps on how to root as i have the same model firmware XXU2ASL3 as you. ( totally new to this)
Thanks
I have SM-T290, and want to know about how to overlay boot.img
I have all files just tell me how to overlay modified magisk boot.img onto original stock boot.img.
Thanks . I really need your support, pls help. I want to root my tablet which is same model as yours except sim card slot is missing

[SAFETYNET INFO]: Again, I'm not updating myself yet, so I'm not sure about this. I will update this info as others report back. On Android 10, using the MagiskHide Props Config module (or an alternate module created by Displax, though I prefer Didgeridoohan's module) and choosing option 2 - Force BASIC key attestation would force BASIC HW attestation and allow SafetyNet to pass again. This works perfectly for me, and I even run additional mods including EdXposed. I'm not sure if this works on Android 11, and I won't be able to confirm myself for a while. If anybody tries it, please let me know and I'll update this section. The module and info on using it can be found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ap...just search for it in the Magisk Manager app.

** You can only follow this guide verbatim if coming EXACTLY from build "11.0.0 (RP1A.200720.009, Sep 2020)". But the general idea is the same for other builds, you just need the correct files for your device.

DO NOT BOOT BACK INTO O/S UNTIL ALL STEPS ARE COMPLETED - THIS ENSURES EVERYTHING BOOTS BACK UP WITH MAGISK / EDXPOSED ALL RUNNING PROPERLY RIGHT AWAY
1. boot into bootloader
----------------
** I was on custom kernel, so I needed to flash BOTH the stock boot and dtbo images
2. fastboot flash boot flame-rp1a.200720.009-factory-boot.img
3. fastboot flash dtbo flame-rp1a.200720.009-factory-dtbo.img
......* these steps to restore stock recovery; dtbo.img also necessary for some kernel installations.
......* won't hurt to flash both anyway, so if you're unsure, go ahead and do both.
-----------------
4. use volume keys to change selection to boot to Recovery Mode
......- when you reach the android symbol with No Command, hold power button, tap volume up, in case you've forgotten
5. choose option "Apply update from ADB"
6. adb sideload flame-ota-rp1a.201005.004-9e17c7b4.zip
7. Once the OTA sideload is done, Reboot to bootloader (you'll also notice it's now on the other slot after OTA flashed)
8. fastboot flash boot flame-rp1a.201005.004-magisk_patched-21.0.img
9. done, start the phone
(Optional - Flash custom kernel. If you had a custom kernel, you need to re-flash it)
This is a 100% seamless update that requires no additional / re-setup of any of my Magisk or EdXposed setups. All of the factory files can be found here https://developers.google.com/android/images. boot.img and dtbo.img are in their corresponding full Factory Image zips, and the ota zip is under Full OTA Images.
-------------------
Issues after updating?
If you end up unable to boot or bootlooping afterwards, you most likely have an old Magisk module that isn't playing nice with the new build. There are 2 main things you can do:
1. Flash the new factory untouched boot image. You will of course lose root, and all modules will be disabled. However, it should at least get you able to boot back up quickly and have a working phone if you're in a bind.
2. I would recommend checking Tulsadiver's thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-4/how-to/magisk-modules-disabler-booting-magisk-t3991739
Instead of reverting to stock boot image, fastboot boot (NOT FLASH) Tulsadiver's boot image. This will boot your phone in Magisk Core-Only Mode, with all modules disabled but root retained. From here you can open Magisk Manager and disable suspect modules. Before rebooting, go to Magisk Manager's settings and disable Magisk Core-Only Mode. Once you disable the incompatible module, the phone should boot back up.

just want to report happily that i waas able to update to october with no problems using your guide. followed your september guide yesterday and then october today. no problems at all, buttery smooth mate! thanx..!
The instructions are great as a reminder,
I only work on the console every month or two and without the bullet points I wouldn't always be able to finish the update so quickly.
Thank you very much ?
So.. I've rooted and taken OTA's and rerooted dozens of times.. But I finally got around to factory resetting now stable is here. On OCT build, i flash the patched boot img and upon rebooting, Magisk shows I'm still not rooted. Any advice?
Update: Flashed canary debug apk. patched stock boot img, and flashed. now rooted. wierd
What about if I'm not rooted and on the October update for Android 11? I've tried a couple different times to root and I always get a fail when I try to flash the patched boot image.
Hey,
here is a quick guide:
=== you need these websites ===
https://developers.google.com/android/images
https://developers.google.com/android/ota
https://github.com/topjohnwu/magisk_files/tree/canary
step by step
1. download https://github.com/topjohnwu/magisk_files/archive/canary.zip
that's Magisk
2. copy app-debug.apk on your Pixel 4 (XL) and install the app
3. Open an Image (NOT OTA!) with 7-zip, there is another big zip-file inside, extract boot.img and dtbo.img
4. Copy boot.img on your Phone, download-folder, just like Magisk.apk
5. Open Magisk and Patch boot.img -> magisk-patched.img
6. Copy magisk-patched.img on your PC
7. now simply proceed as described in the instructions above.
Nothing can go wrong with these self-patched files

Pixel 5 w/ Jan Update - Flash of patched boot.img = loop

Hi all,
I seem to be struggling with my usual process of getting root on my Pixel 5.
I installed the latest Canary build of the Magisk Manager and patched my base boot.img and then flashed it and the phones goes into an infinite loop. Only way to get out of it is to flash-all.bat (w/out the -w). Any ideas on why this process, which I've used even on my previous P2XL, is no longer working?
When I open the manager, it says my installed version is 8.0.4 (4770) and the latest version is 6d88d8ad (4770) (15) but I can't update.
I have the January release and the same magisk version, and my device boots fine. What steps did you do to patch the boot.img file and how did you flash the patched magisk_patched.img file?

This is the process I follow each month/followed for this update:
Download and extract FW
Edit flash-all.bat to remove the -w
Run flash-all.bat while at bootloader screen
Copy \redfin-rq1a.210105.003\boot.img to device
Open Magisk Manager Canary (latest) and click on "Install"
Select "Select and Patch a File"
Copy \download\magisk_patched_0eKAS.img to platform-tools folder on PC
At bootloader screen, run: fastboot flash boot magisk_patched_0eKAS.img
Reboot
I've been using that process for months, going back to my Pixel 2 XL and used that process (with different .img names obviously) last month even for the December update on this here Pixel 5.
Only way to get out of the loop is to re-run step 3.

I installed 8.0.4 but when I try to patch the image with it, it fails. When I try to sideload 21.2 or 20.4, it says:
E:footer is wrong
E:Signature verification failed
E:error: 21
Install from ADB completed with status 2.
Installation aborted.
I was able to patch the image after changing to the beta channel. However, it started to loop again and eventually went back to bootloader with the reason being "no valid slot to boot". I've flash-all.bat'ed again and am back to working. I don't understand why I can't get this to work.
I also had an inability to boot after I tried to do the December update using Minimal ADB. No valid slot.
I switched to a new platform tools install, and the same procedure has now worked twice. How old is your platform tools install?
If anyone is having problems patching the stock boot.img, you can upload it and I can patch it and re-upload it for you.

It was pretty new/latest version but I went ahead and just re-downloaded the factory image and platform tools and am trying again...
If it matters, I'm back to Canary manager and here is what my patch screen says:
Code:
- Device platform: arm64-v8a
- Magisk Manager: 8.0.4 (4770)
- Install target: 6d88d8ad (21201)
- Copying image to cache
- Unpacking boot image
- Checking ramdisk status
- Stock boot image detected
- Patching ramdisk
- Repacking boot image
- Output file *path*
- All done!
My actual flash output is:
Code:
> fastboot flash boot magisk_patched_Mx5Yh.img
Sending 'boot_a' (98304 KB) OKAY [ 2.277s]
Writing 'boot_a' OKAY [ 0.312s]
Finished. Total time: 2.918s
UPDATE:
I got it working this time around using a fresh new factory image and platform tools download.
I'm actually wondering if, in my haste, I actually used the bootloader image, not the boot img...but wouldn't Magisk have complained? lol.
Who knows, but looks like my issue is resolved! Thanks all for having me try things like a new platform tools download.

[OOS][ALL][Stock boot][Stock recovery] OxygenOS 11.0.0

Here are all the boot.img and recovery.img of OxygenOS 11.0.0. Since TWRP isn't ready yet, I guess a lot of people need it if they didn't keep their root permissions.
As I only have a EU device I can only provide a patched boot.img for that device. But with the original .img files it should be easy to patch and flash it yourself. To make it clear: boot.img and recovery.img are stock unless said otherwise. They've just been extracted from the payload.bin inside the respective OOS update zip file.
OOS 11.0.0 EU:
boot.img
boot.img (Magisk v22 patched)
recovery.img
OOS 11.0.0 GLOBAL:
boot.img
recovery.img
OOS 11.0.0 INDIA:
boot.img
recovery.img
Please note: I'm not responsible for anything you do to your device. You use these files at your own risk. I will not provide any further .img files nor ask me for patched files. Any contribution with patched boot.img files is welcome of course. Also note although I'm a moderator, this thread is neither official nor in any way more or less trustworthy than any other contribution by other awesome members!

No, unless you use the Magisk patched EU version. Otherwise always install the update, then use the Magisk Manager to patch the inactive slot and then (only then!) reboot. Then you'll keep root.
Otherwise use the stock boot.img and patch with Magisk Manager. Then flash the patched image via fastboot. There are plenty of tutorials on XDA

Use USB debugging and a PC with the code:
Code:
adb wait-for-device shell magisk --remove-modules
If USB debugging isn't enabled, flash the stock boot.img (without root), boot it, enable ADB debugging and allow the connection to the PC. Then flash the patched boot.img and execute the command above
That is assuming you have a OnePlus 7T Pro which doesn't have a decryptable recovery. Otherwise you can simply flash the Magisk uninstaller
But i have a error I think that i cannot write in system
I have always : cannot be accessible
Thanks i just had to run the command when i rebooted

He means you need to run the flash boot command for each slot
for instance your system runs on a slot, as soon as you type the
fastboot flash boot [boot image]
if it shows writing boot_a
then you need to type
fastboot flash boot_b [boot image]
to flash in the b slot also
if it shows writing boot_b
then you need to type
fastboot flash boot_a [boot image]
to flash in the a slot also
and you can pass the safteynet easily even when in root, u can use zygisk and magiskhide to pass the safteynet and you can run any banking app you want
Please do not use the boot images provided if you have not updated to the current latest version
Note: EU version boot image might be different so don't try
p.s you can extract boot images yourself from any version you want!
