Well, we all have obviously been using 4.4 Kit Kat for a while now. I love it personally! But there's always room for bigger and better things and more importantly, improvement.
Some things I want in stock Android:
-complete removal of all holo blue and more UI uniformity
-lock screen notifications
-customizable quick settings
-more speed and battery adjustments
-redesigned camera UI (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE)
-battery percent indicator built in
-snazzier UI animations
That's it for now, I think. My list will probably grow as will yours.

I have a lot more requests for the tablet UI. I love Kit Kat for the Nexus 5. It felt like Kit Kat was a step backwards for the Nexus 10. They actually removed tablet UI features and put in phone UI in places.
I do agree with a continuation of removing the blue, and making it all a little sleaker.

When sending out a group message, converts the message to MMS ( as it should ) however, once you hit send, it goes out to all people as individual SMS messages, which, when you get a reply, as opposed to being a group MMS conversation, is an individual SMS conversation. It's the little things like that which make it difficult...

I see mixed responses with the tablet UI all the time. I, for one, like the UI now compared to the old way.
As far as future additions to Android, I cant think of many. KitKat is beautiful in my opinion. The camera could use a little work though. I'm always looking forward to seeing what Google does though.
Separate the damn ringtone volume from the notification volume! I have volume butler, and it does what I want, but if I use my volume rocker while in a call, watching a video, listening to a song, etc, I have to go back in and adjust my volumes in there again. Pain in the rear.

The main thing missing from Android to make it user accessible is complete phone backup. I can't believe they still haven't introduced it.
I've been using Android phones since the G1, but one thing I prefer in iPhone is the fact that it used to automatically sync with iCloud everyday and backup. That way, if I lose my phone tomorrow, I can get a new one and restore an exact copy to it.
Using Google Drive, it should be the simplest thing to backup apps and data and settings.
I know Google has built in backup which backs up some data, but its not the same till all developers code for it. And yes, I have been using Titanium backup and also using the built in Google Drive option, and its still not the same.
Honestly, I'm happy with KitKat. I can't think of any other features that I need, but of course, any will be welcome.
My biggest wish? Get rid of the Holo blue in the in-call dialer. Why they didn't just make that look like the new dialer is beyond me, but it looks horribly out of place.
They definitely need to get rid of that awful black and greyish blue gradient background and replace it with a white or gray. It's very strange that the phone UI is very dark yet all of the Google Apps are incredibly bright, it just doesn't look right.
Actually I'm pretty happy. The only things I would love is a battery percentage next to the battery icon, but because its stock, this feature won't come.
Maybe.. Lower battery darin?

Group MMS works fine for me on Hangouts. It sends it as a single MMS with multiple recipients attached. Do you have the Group Messaging option enabled in settings? I think that setting is setup to only work with specific carriers however so perhaps your carrier isn't supported.
Better Backup Features, WiFi Sync, Lockscreen Notifications.

See, there lies my problem, and, maybe it really is me at this point. My Nexus 5 is on hangouts 2.0.217 ( latest ) and under SMS settings, the first option under "Advanced" is "Delete old messages" ( just like in 2.0.1 ) When 2.0.2 was released, there's supposed to be "Group Messaging" which, doesn't exist. Unfortunately I don't know anyone else personally who owns a Nexus 5, so I can't compare, however, when I check a Galaxy S4, and some other phones on my same carrier, the option is there, and they're also on 2.0.217. Makes no sense. I know my carrier doesn't restrict it, and the firmware on these phones are not modified...
Most of all of the above but I want transparent systemui in every app.

One thing I found out is that it works with people who have iPhones. I don't know anybody who uses Hangouts so I can't speak on that and I know if the people you're texting have a Galaxy or any other kind of phone, the replies go into individual threads, but if the people you're texting have iPhones, group messaging should work. It's worked for me.
1) Camera-Fix that dam low brightness in the video recoding, the static noise, new and a better ui for camera.
Raw image would be a welcome change.
2)UI-In terms of ui decrease the google search ram usage around 130mb due to the fact that it has been added to the homescreen and ability to create folders in the app drawer, battery %
3) battery life improvement a must and decrease in the thermal throttling with performance improvement.
And last but not the least active listening like the moto X( I knw they won't bring it but still)
-raw images
-faster shutter and focus
-new camera ui
Maybe some other small changes like battery percentage by default etc.
I mean seriously... I installed the Google clock app and Google calendar because the Huawei apps fail at the basic controls and after Android 7 they force their crap controls on other apps? Honestly, I am super passed.
I wish they could keep the alarm clock from Android 6/EMUI 4. The alarm clock on 7 looks so crap and undone.
I'm going to give a slightly more in-depth review of the new Android release for our phones, and why you should _NOT_ install it. In fact, I think EMUI 4.X blows 5.X out of the water.
Breaking down my major gripes with the system:
Battery life is terrible. I am yet to pinpoint the source of the drain, and without rooting I don't really have the ability to do a whole lot about it. Exact same settings and usage that I had on EMUI 4.X and instead of being able to go two days without a charge, I'm having to charge it constantly. It appears to be a mixture of software and hardware, which in my opinion, means that Huawei put very little effort into optimizing this software for their hardware.
Notifications are trash. Seriously. They're ugly, and not nearly as functional as their prior iteration. Spotify for example had a decent lockscreen functionality in EMUI 4.X -- That's now gone, replaced with a banner style widget. The default Google banner-style widget. So... Huawei pretty much left everything stock. This has been slapped together hastily. My gripe in this particular situation? Googles default banner widget is so thin, you can barely use the seek/play/pause functionality without accidentally mashing something you're not meaning to. --- Beyond that, there are bugs with text notifications. Example: If you get a text while you have that persons text conversation open in the stock messaging app, and they send another text, even though you're looking right at it you get a banner. The banner stays until you tap it. ...Seriously Huawei?
Apps, UI, other issues. Messaging, again. They've added an emoji icon into the text input area. You can't get rid of it. It wasn't there before, but now it's a permanent fixture. How about two more emoji icons on your keyboard? Sound annoying? It is. The "obvious" solution is to install other software to appeal to my pedantic needs. Or Huawei can stop making superfluous changes to their software. Black background on notification drawer, white banners... very sexy. Can't move certain icons in the app drawer (IE: You can move "Mobile Data" toggle, but not "Settings").
I won't keep ranting on and on, but Huawei seriously, seriously dropped the ball on this one. It's almost embarrassing in fact. There's a reason this upgrade hasn't been released worldwide, and if Huawei can't iron out their problems, I would never recommend it to any user who enjoyed anything about EMUI.
Verdict, in my opinion: Stick with EMUI 4.X - Root it. Enjoy.

I don't mind it so far, notifications are pretty crappy. Currently, I am using Google Keyboard a lot better than the built-in one.
My annoyance is that I use LastPass, Yaste and DoubleTwist apps, which should stay in the notification panel if I am using them even though the phone locks and it closes then on lock.
I have checked the power management and rebooted as well, but LastPass etc.. disappear from the nofication panel.

Haha, well I had to try it for a couple of days at least to make sure I was justified in disliking it so much.
I'll be rolling back today though, if I run into any issues with this I'll be sure to post any potential work arounds.

I guess its all depends on how you use your phone and what apps you got. I have 0 issues with EMUI 5.0 and I actually recommend it over EMUI 4.x. Battery life for me is slightly better thanks to the improved Doze and Vulcan API. Performance has improved, especially in the touch responsiveness of the UI (again, thanks to native support to Vulcan). I have no issues with the notification since all of the apps I use is clearly visible and functions properly. In regards to Apps, UI and etc... Well, I am using Nova Launcher Prime and I have customized it to the way I like it and also using SwiftKey so I dont get any of the keyboard issues you are reporting and I use Textra for my messaging and works perfectly fine.
So I guess its all depends on what apps you have and how you like your interface set up.

Not gonna PM just yet. I've had a hell of a time thusfar, still trying to find a method to get back to absolute stock (which would require our stock oeminfo I think, which I don't have, honestly I'm not even 100% sure).
Right now it says I'm on software version C900B140 -- I don't know wtf this is lol -- I'll figure it out though, at least it's working after 3 hours of bootlooping.

It was ****, but I was able to rollback to a C432 build. You're stuck with this version now, but there's a rollback thread somewhere around here with the instructions that work. I can't find it off hand, but googling "P9 Rollback" or searching for it on here should help. You're basically following the rollback instructions and then following the debrand instructions up until the point where you're asked to use Huawei Updater 2.0.
I installed, got to 4.1.1 -- disabled updates. Plan on staying here for a while.

Do i need to unlock bootloader to perform a rollback?
C900Bxx is a hybrid from flashing one firmware, say C432, over another, say C02. It won't receive any updates but can be 'rebranded' by flashing new oeminfo.img
Android 7 is way, way better than 6 - snappier, more responsive, better battery life, and as for Huawei apps overdrawing Google ones - like Calendar, Clock, etc - it doesn't happen with me, period.
Still, YMMV, and everyone's got their own tastes and opinions - including me lol.

I have a oneplu3 that isn't rooted and with the latest version of the OS. Lately, when I try to clear background apps, I have seen in few instances of an app/phone keypad(if I may call) that looks as if there is an ongoing call running in the background (without any number). Why am I seeing this? what is it? I am not sure. But something that I know, is that there shouldn't be an ongoing call in my background when I am not on a call. I have tried to pay attention to see if there is a number that it is calling too but I do not see any number ( looks like ongoing, because I see a red phone below the phone keypad). I am not sure what app is causing this or if this is related to the actual OS, but I can't seem to replicate it to get a screen cap. Whats app, Reddit, clover, Google assistant are the only apps that I frequently use.
I know that this in't related to phone/call app as it would show my call log when I clear the tasks.
I have an ESET suite on my phone.
Am I being paranoid for no reason? is there something that I can do to figure out what is going on?

I downloaded the EMU 10 update yesterday and am seriously thinking of reverting back to EMUI 9.
Is there anyway you can change the size of the contact photo when they ring? The small circle with their picture is ridiculous and a huge step down.
I've also noticed when I make a phone call through my hands free in my car (Ford Sync 3) their pictures have stopped showing up altogether.
Any replies would be greatly appreciated!

It's been the circle since early EMUI 10 beta and i don't think they will get it back as it was on EMUI 9.1, because as you can see, the circle contact picture's position is right where the electromagnetic sound from in display vibrations is set, so it might be something related with that.
As an altenative, you can use Full Screen Caller or other apps, which i know is not pleasant but it's a must do if you want half or full screen contact picture.
Downgrading after me is not an option, because i don't think they will release more than one firmware with updated security patch and then releasing only EMUI 10 firmwares with updated security patches.

I have never been a fan of Huawei's contacts app. You can download Google Contacts from the Play Store for free and see if you like it better. It has a different look and feel, and I've not noticed any lost functionality.
You can also set video ringtones, like I do. Just because of the same issue: I dont like the small BS photo. I want a full size photo. So I made a short video for my contacts and assigned it...
For those of you who took the plunge and updated to Android 11: could you share your findings about this update?

How's the battery łife compared to Android 10?
How's the new One UI running for you?
And last but not least: is a downgrade to 10 possible if needed? Or is there a new bootloader to prevent this?

I found the update to be stable and not have any of the bugs that folks talked about online. No blurry images with the camera, no weird battery drain, wifi issues, etc... I did however notice that the visible screen does not extend to the top and bottom of the glass. There is an 1/8 of an inch black border of wasted space. Also widgets now have a margin around them and they do not go full width of screen. I did have one app that stopped working, Kin Screen. Otherwise, it's working.
Beyond that, the phone now looks too much like an iphone. i have the swipe bar instead of the 3 buttons at the bottom of the screen, the iphone volume control and even notifications and the lock screen scream iphone. I do not like like this and want to go back to android 10. I have taken a look online and am finding instructions regarding downgrading from android 11 beta, but this is not beta, it's an official update that Samsung pulled.
Is there a way to downgrade without deleting my data and apps?

Regarding the downgrade to 10 from 11, maybe this guide can help you. Since the home_csc is used your data should be safe, however I would definitely make a back-up of your important files, pictures, WhatsApp-data/files etc before flashing the Odin-files!
I found that I can reload the android 10 firmware via Samsung smart switch. The only hixkup is that, doing so wipes data. I have backed up the phone using idrive. I'm just concerned that when I reload fro. Idrive it might restore Android 11. I'm not sure what files get backed up. Maybe I will look into oden if I can reload the firmware without touching apps and data.
Thankfully I froze the OTA updater 2 months ago. No Android 11 for me!

After moving to one ui 3/android 11 on my galaxy s10 exynos, I'm now unable to change the icon set on poco launcher. It always default to system icons.

I have s10+ exynos version and this problem since update to ui one 2.5 or 2.0 i can't remember.
After reboot is ok, if i made a call more than 20minutes the problem appear during the call.
Currently i have voice assistance turned off, all bixby updates uninstalled. But still have this problem. I also installed app Sound Analyser and calibrate microphone it works but after some time happen again.
The other person, on call, ear me so low or cant ear me at all. This doesnt happen if i use whatsapp, messeger, skype, etc.

there are some small changes/feature removals that I dislike in oneui 3.0
1. mirroring screen with chromcast is not possible natively. You need to install a third party app or google home. However, google home does not allow for screen resolution change, which was possible with the native mirroring feature in oneui 2.0
2. Split-screen seems to behave differently. When you habe two apps in split screen and you swipe up from bottom (home button), the whole split screen setup disappears and you return to your homescreen. In oneui 2.0, it minimized the upper split screen app and return home screen only for the lower app. Maybe this was due to good lock multistar addon, but even with that some addon on oneui 3.0, the behaviour is different, in my opinion worse compared to one ui 2.0.
