Wow, never knew that

Be welcome, my friend.
4pda is a very good forum, but so confusing using that very old phpBB style.

Some things are done better on 4PDA
Some things are better on XDA
But the 4PDA Android client is much more convenient for me than the XDA Android client

how to create a forum just like this?

hi guys, I really love XDA, im on it all the time, But i wanted to make my own forum just like this, except its focused on just 1 phone, Is there any possible way to create a forum the same as this and excellent as this one?
If so, Can you give me a step-by-step walkthrough? Cheers (P.S, like i said, exactly (nearly) like this, so i can recruit mods, etc, mysql, php etc, anything, as long as its like this forum/website)
cheers,
wilbso
This should get you started: http://bit.ly/xYjjc5
well there are lots of free websites that allows you to create forums which you can manage as you like or create one on your own with phpbb, vb etc with your domain. If its a forum, you can assign mods, database or just anything else.

Well then you have to find oue, and make it do what you want. Most forums are based on phpBB or vBulletin. I think XDA is vBulletin.

Simple. I've made a forum before.
Buy vBulletin or another forum software. Get yourself some hosting, according to the specs. Install the forum on the server using the manual. Then just start tweaking the settings and get it noticed.

the main forum, which is focused on the xperia x8, is called xperiance,
Hello !
Well... Good ! But I guess you can do much better with a Forumotion's free forum !
It's the best free forum hoster, which offers a lot of possibilities. You need to try !
May be worth considering whether or not the forum you go with is supported by Tapatalk. There's a list of forums they support on their site...
http://www.tapatalk.com/
I beleive the recipe is 2 parts vBulletin, 2 parts contributing users and 8 parts trolls....
Mix well and leave to simmer for 9 years....
Good luck.

Of course it did. Forums needs users and by only focusing on ONE device, the forum becomes a ghost town when a new version gets released. Its not a sustainable model at all.

I do not think this is the first time someone is promoting a website. But this IS the first time someone is promoting MY website. It's not a mod that if there are similar threads i should rather go there. If there is a special thread for promotion of websites, be a good member and point me to one.
Thanks.

We'd be glad to but we are students and cannot presently buy new devices. Device specific support is present only in our forums. We concentrate more on Android and other tech stuff in general. Give our site a try, you should find it helpful.
Thanks.

Did you ever consider to use the search in XDA?
Or go to sammobile and search for the firmware you need.
But: seeing the unlimited efforts you spent - and your usual way to ask like this in your other posts: I would suggest you stay on stock or sell it.

What happened to this XDA guy?

Hey. Recently I found videos of quite funny guy from XDA who was making Android tutorials on YouTube. Here is one of his videos:
https://youtu.be/3q0wV1Mw3HM
What has happened to him and is he still in XDA team? Unfortunately I cannot find any new material with him and that's quite depressing.
