Question failed to mount system root no such file or directory - Redmi 9 Power / 9T

Hello, sorry for the bothering but i recently decided to change of Rom, from Arrow Os to Crdroid, just when i was preparing everything and having to redo some steps because i didnt knew that Crdroid didnt came with Gapps i came across this
"failed to mount:system/root no such file or directory"
after seeing this i decided to grab the Fastboot version of the Official Rom in this phone and it works normally up to that point, but now whenever i Install the TWRP of https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-3-5-a10-twrp-unnoficial-for-lime-redmi9t-beta.4233045/ whenever i proceed to install the new Rom i come across this problem always, is there something i can do to fix this so i can mod my phone?
edit: i also have to mention that i tried the Poco M3 version of TWRP (since they are also "juice") but the problem repeats itself too. right now i dont have any idea how to fix this

[Q]Softbrick after successful Lineage install

Hello guys!
I'm writing this thread to ask you about an "almost" succesful install through TWRP.
My situation goes in this way:
1. The newest version of TWRP didn't work on the phone, so I used a 3.0 (I can't seem to make work the bootloader in the original thread of TWRP for RAZR).
2. In the installing process of Lineage, there are two red commands that says: "E:unknown command [log]" twice.
3. The gapps install goes pretty well.
4. The phone won't boot and I surely assume is the ROM but can't figure it out what I need to do.
I did a similar process with my Moto G3 and had encountered similar problems, the last thing I did in it was to install a Gapps version that were in the date of the Lineage ROM and was good, but this isn't the case.
I hope I made me clear about my problem.
Good bye!

Trouble flashing any custom ROM

Edit: Figured out the missing step! Wasn't mentioned on any guide I read, or if it was, I'm afraid it wasn't clear :'( Hopefully this guide helps other people though, I've highlighted the step I added!
Hi Mi9 Forum!
Longtime S7 user here, I've flashed (literally) hundreds of roms over the years, but unfortunately lost my device so switched to a Mi9 (Which is ****ing huge!)
Earlier today, after the (arduous 1-week wait) I unlocked my phone (now reads unlocked on boot up), and set about testing three different roms.
From what I understood, I needed to flash a Vendor image before the actual rom itself, so I installed TWRP, flashed the vendor image, then tried flashing the ROM, but alas, I got kicked back to TWRP.
The steps I've taken a listed below, perhaps I've missed something obvious, or not so obvious, but any help would be appreciated!
UNLOCKING
Unlocked phone with Mi tool (Reads unlocked on bootscreen now)
Booted into Fastbook (Vol down + Power)
Plugged in
Used MinimalADB to push TWRP (3.3.1.42) onto my device
Unplugged and rebooted (Vol up + Power)
Plugged back in and entered into TWRP (Huzzah!)
Pushed two files into my "/tmp/" folder, these were xiaomi.eu_multi_MI9_V11.0.2.0.QFACNXM_v11-10.zip, and Magisk (V20)
Went to Wipe > Format Data > "Yes"
Back to TWRP Home, went to Install, and installed the xiaomi.eu mentioned above, then installed Magisk
Once both were done, I restarted, phone loaded up perfectly fine, and had Magisk installed
It was at this point I decided to try a custom rom:
CUSTOM ROM
Booted into TWRP
[*]Selected to Wipe > Format Data > "Yes"
I wiped System, Vendor, Data, Cache, and Dalvik
Pushed the Vendor 9.8.1 file into my "/tmp/" folder, along with whatever ROM I was testing (Tried with Syberia project, AOSPExtended, and ResurrectionRemix), GAPPS, and Magisk
Flashed the Vendor file
Flashed the ROM
Flashed GAPPS (Where it wasn't included with whatever ROM I was testing)
Flashed Magisk (This began giving me ERROR-1 here, even though it was exactly the same file that worked fine earlier.)
Once all that was done, I restarted the phone, it booted up fine, I saw the "Mi" bootscreen along with the "unlocked" at the bottom...Then the phone restarted.
It went to the same bootscreen once more, before restarting once again, and kicking me into TWRP.
I've tried it several times now, with different roms, both with/without installing GAPPS/Magisk, but I always get the same result.
I've been on these forums for a while, I know usually people post without reading, but that's not what I've done, I've read up on what to do, downloaded all the necessary (I think!) files ahead of time, and documented everything I did (in-case of a cockup!). So yes, I really have tried, and I really have searched
Any help, or direction, or hints, or magic wishes anybody can give me regarding this would be much appreciated!
same problem happened to me

Using the above steps, I have been able to flash AOSP, and Miui roms.
Though I always go back to Miui because it has the best camera app.

TWRP Bootloop

When I try to install a ROM, no problem installing TWRP and flashing a ROM.
But when I restart, whatever the ROM it systematically restarts on TWRP.
Everything is back to normal when I reinstall the MiUi ROM.
I installed vbmeta, TWRP is kept even with the MiUi ROM.
I tried to install a ROM on MiUi but nothing happened, TWRP is launched systematically after restarting.
I tried with several versions of TWRP but nothing worked.
Also with LOLz kernel with and without; and Magisk too.
Sleep on it !
you have to format DATA and not Wipe !
Hello guys! I'm new here and don't know where to get help. My phone (Xiaomi 4g [phoenix]) has a weird bootloop to it.
I installed Miui 13 eu rom via the name of file is "windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format" now I get a bootloop that goes back to TWRP.
When i checked the my storage on my pc it only shows TWRP folder only. i don't know what to do. i've been sitting the whole day trying to figure to fix my phone.
I downloaded a Miui 12 and installing it via twrp. now after a few minutes of waiting and still get backs to TWRP.

sounds like your data got wiped, thats why theres only a twrp folder in internal. you should prolly full flash a fastboot rom since you mightve missed a few important steps
Hi Fonzacus
Please tell me
What is the reason for flashing that vbmeta img?
Is it always necessary when clean flashing latest crdroid custom ROM?

sorry for the super late response
its supposedly for bypassing android verfied boot (avb). it blocks unauthorized roms from booting. if you search for 'what is vbmeta', we literally get no info at all and mainly speculations (no official docs etc). imho it does seem true

Question TWRP - Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument) [solved]

Hello, I've been trying to install Project Elixir after finally unlocking bootloader today, but i've just been running into a whirlwind of error messages. I hope anyone can help me here, as I feel quite stuck.
The guide I followed so far:
[GUIDE] Beginner's guide on how to root Redmi Note 10 Pro (sweet) without TWRP
The Project Elixir version I downloaded: ProjectElixir_1.5_sweet-12.0-20220314-1523-OFFICIAL.zip
Steps I took:
So I unlocked bootloader on stock rom, installed magisk and rooted my phone with the Project Elixir boot.img (this might be where things went sideways, now that I think about it), then installed TWRP so I could boot into recovery (Couldn't figure out whether or not magisk allows you to boot into recovery to install custom roms), and this is where I'm currently at.
I cannot:
-Wipe (gives failed to mount data error message)
-Install zip ("Error installing zip file 'external_sd/Download/<projectelixirzipfile>'
-repair or change file system (Error message: Invalid Partition Selection)
I've formatted the phone again, but that doesn't do anything. The only thing I know that i've done is unlock the phone, as developer options says the phone is unlocked. I've googled around, and I cannot find anything that works. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: fixed the issue, and am now in the process of flashing project elixir.
failed to mount data fix (just me being a moron, mostly)
install zip error fix
Edit #2 : after flashing project elixir, on reboot I am booting straight into TWRP, so there's another issue for me to look into. fun stuff.
Edit #3: now i'm stuck on fastboot. how about I just tap out for the day, before my phone obliterates.

It looks like that you've tried Android 12 version?
With 12 and TWRP (until now, there's no recovery which can encrypt 12).you can only side load or you flash DfE for encryption.....

Thank you for your reply. I gotta be honest; not sure what that means, but I flashed the orangefox recovery img, then it booted into orangefox, and after formatting data and rebooting, I launched into project elixir, so for now I think i'm good.
This thread can be marked as solved.
