Flashing everything

I have made a map with ADB and fastboot pre-installed with tools for flashing: recovery, system(not tested), boot. Also i have the tool to delete: system, cache and data for flashing CM or other ROMs. Also it has the tools to reboot in recovery and bootloader. I used almost every tool on my own HTC desire C, but im not responsible for any problems. I can help you if you get stuck but if your device gets bricked than its not my fault. Here is a guide how to flash CM and CWM + downloads:
How to install CWM:
1. Turn on USB Debugging (USB-foutopsporing voor nederlanders) under the developers settings (instellingen voor ontwikkelaars voor nederlanders)
2. download the recovery.img
3. put it in the folder of my tools
4. quick booting must be off (snel opstarten voor nederlanders, im from holland and i don't know what the name of that setting is) then power off your phone
5. hold down volume down button and then power button for several seconds
6. then click on fastboot > reboot bootloader >again fastboot and connect your phone to pc
7. double-click flash recovery and done!
8. there are several ways to boot into recovery but i use the volume down+power button and then recovery
IMPORTANT: Your phone must be rooted and bootloader unlocked.
How to flash CM 10.0 android 4.1.2 or other CM software
1. Download the update.zip
2. open it and copy the boot.img but don't delete it and put the copied boot.img in the folder of my tools
3. place the boot.img on the SD-Card of your phone
4. boot into recovery and install the update.zip
5. don't reboot it, get the battery out of the phone and put it back.
6. hold down volume down+power button
7. choose fastboot > reboot bootloader > and again fastboot
8. now connect your device to your PC
9. double-click flash boot and done!

Yes we can move it if we add the A50s (you might need to remind us though)
It's quite common to create a device thread in a "close-match" forum while waiting to see if a new (more precise device) forum is created.
So long as the thread is clearly titled (as this one is) then it's ok.

[Guide][Redmi 7A] TWRP, Root with Magisk, Custom ROM [GSI][Pie]

Hello,
I finally managed to install a custom GSI Rom with TWRP and Magisk on my Redmi 7A. And I want to share a detailed guide for everyone who is struggling to do the same. Tested with MIUI 10.2.5.0 Global. Cannot guarantee for other versions.
WARNING:
You need to backup your data before installing. I am not responsible for any damage or loss that might occur. Proceed at your own risk.
Prerequisites:
- Your bootloader must be unlocked (https://en.miui.com/unlock/)
- GSI Rom of your choice. Only a64 A/B (arm32_binder64_ab). No other GSIs will do.
- ADB and Fastboot
- patched boot.img
- TWRP recovery
- vbmeta.img
- Magisk
- Permissiver_v4.zip
- Certification patch
- Treble Overlay file
- GApps (if needed)
Installation guide:
1. Download the files.
GSI Rom:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble/trebleenabled-device-development
I installed Lineage OS 16 GSI (lineage-16.0-20191017-UNOFFICIAL-treble_a64_bvN). Everything works, except for auto-brightness.

GApps (for Lineage OS 16 GSI choose 'ARM' & '9.0')
https://opengapps.org/
2. Unpack Minimal ADB and Fastboot to C:\ drive of your PC
3. Rename patched boot file to boot.img
4. Rename custom recovery file to recovery.img
5. Place boot.img, recovery.img, vbmeta.img in ADB folder
6. Turn off your phone.
7. Reboot phone to fastboot mode by holding Volume-down button while pressing On/Off-button. You know you are in fastboot mode when you see a cartoon bunny.
8. Connect the phone to your PC via USB.
9. On your PC open command prompt and nagivate to ADB folder, or open command prompt window directly from right-click menu in ADB folder; just right-click on empty space and choose 'Open command prompt here'
10. In command prompt, enter the following commands:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Code:
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
11. Now reboot to recovery: Press Volume-Up button on your phone and enter the following in command prompt:
Code:
fastboot reboot
or just turn off the phone and reboot by holding Volume-Up and On/Off button (release On/Off when phone turns on, keep holding Volume-Up until you see screen of TWRP recovery)
12. Swipe to allow modifications. If TWRP asks for PIN, enter the PIN code you set for your unlock screen.
13. In TWRP choose Wipe > Advanced Wipe. Select 'Dalvik / ART cache', 'System', 'Data', 'Cache'. Then Swipe to Wipe.
14. Move the downloaded GSI file (*.img) to your phone. (Simply drag and drop in your PC's file manager to SD-card/memory of phone).
15. Flash the GSI Rom: In TWRP choose 'Install' > 'Install Image' and select the GSI. If you put the GSI on your external SD-card you first need to choose Select Storage > Micro SD card. After choosing the GSI file, at Select Partition to Flash Image choose System Image. Then Swipe to confirm Flash.
16. Reboot to Recovery
17. Move Magisk zip and Permissiver_v4.zip to your phone.
18. In TWRP choose Install. Select the Magisk zip-file on your phone and then Swipe to confirm flash.
19. Flash Permissiver_v4.zip the same way.
20. Flash GApps if needed
21. Flash Certification_Patch.zip.
22. Go back and choose Reboot > System
23. Fix big rounded corners on home screen:
Once you are in Android and in case you experience big ugly round corners around your home screen, put treble-overlay-xiaomi-redmi7a.apk in System > Overlay directory. You need a file manager with root access if you want to do this from within Android.
24. Fix brightness adjustment issue (no auto-brightness though):
Enable USB debugging in Developer Options menu. To make developer menu appear in Android, you need to tap 7 times on Android's 'build number'.
Now open command prompt from ADB folder on your PC while your phone is still connected via USB. Enter the following:
Code:
adb shell
su
setprop persist.sys.qcom-brightness $(cat /sys/class/leds/lcd-backlight/max_brightness)
You need to allow adb shell to get root access or the command will throw an error. Your phone should show a confirmation dialog when entering the command. If it doesn't show the dialog, open Magisk Manager app and give root access for Shell in Superuser menu.
25. Enjoy!

25. Enjoy!

Somehow there is ver 10.2 and 10.4 missing 10.3 which is the one which I have.
What should I do?
Thanks very much for the detailed instructions!
I got it working with lineage-17-arm
Got the beta opengapps from...
https://sourceforge.net/projects/opengapps/
Before copying the treble-overlay-xiaomi-redmi7a.apk file, I had to type...
chmod a+r treble-overlay-xiaomi-redmi7a.apk
mount -o rw,remount /
I followed the steps, and i got stuck on Redmi Logo, My bootloader is unlocked.
Tried to install 2 ROMs without success.
In the second ROM (Lineage 17) when i tried to install gapps, it gave me an error saying insufficient space.
i had to get back to Miui.

Before installing gapps, after installing the rom. Go to TWRP > wipe > "system" > repair > resize fs > reboot. Then install gapps.
It didn't boot after I installed gapps on lineage 16, but it was ok on lineage 17.
Redmi 7A Miui 10.3 Patcher file missing?
Does anyone know where I could find patched file for Miui 10.3, because there is only for ver 10.2 and 10.4, and I can't update miui on my phone that's why I'm asking. Thanks.
in TWRP, after instaling the ROM and trying to install gaps, or whatever I get:
Failed to mount '/system_root' (invalid argument)
I also can't mount system partition in mounting options.
What does it means?
.
After installing TWRP successfully I tried with both roms: lineage-16.0-20191017-UNOFFICIAL-treble_a64_bvN and lineage-17.0-20191117-UNOFFICIAL-treble_a64_bvN
it fails to install any apps (Magisk, permissiver, G-Apps, etc.).
Example from Magisk:
- Mounting /system
! Cannot mount /system
- Unmounting partition
...
Failed to mount "system/root" (invalid argument)
When I now try to reboot again into Recovery TWRP says "No OS Installed".
any help is appreciated!

Hello!,
it's possible with MIUI 11 (PCMINXM) ? or i need to roll back to MIUI10?
Camera records corrupted videos
Any idea how to make camera record videos? Photos work, but when I try to record videos, it seems to be recording, but when I try to play it back it seems corrupted (e.g.: showing length of the video to be over 104h long - so seems like indexing problem). Tried to play with camera_config.xml at root/vendor/etc/camera but no luck so far... :crying:
P.S.: The problem seems to be independent of the app used - Open Camera with Camera2 API enabled does not change a thing.

Don't do that - it's too much work.
Fixed mine by editing camera_config.xml so it has only the config for the model and vendor of the camera that it actually has been fitted with. Now using Open Camera with Camera2 API everything works fine. :victory:
P.S.: So the cause of the problem really seems to be the conflict of different camera configs within the configuration file.
brother please! can you tell me how to do it? like a mini guide, i dont have magisk nor root on my phone. do i need to root it?
would appriciate it so much!!

Stuck in Bootloop after installing SuperSu using TWRP for samung M20

So, I was on Android 10, I was trying to root using Magisk & TWRP as mentioned in this XDA Post.
Title:: "[RECOVERY] TWRP 3.3.0 for Galaxy M20" , By DarkLord1731, Senior Member on 3rd March 2019, 08:54 AM (**mentioning because i cant post link**)
Even after multiple attempts, I was unable to install
1. no-verity-opt-encrypt 2. RMM Bypass zip using TWRP.
Both kept on failing even when i tried different versions.
-------------
Later on when i tried flashing SuperSU , phone got bootlocked
still stuck, any help would be appreciated.
-------
Installation Steps:
- First, make sure your phone isn't RMM Locked.
- Download Odin3 v3.13.1, Samsung USB Drivers, latest TWRP's tar for your variant, latest no-verity-opt-encrypt zip, latest Magisk.zip and RMM Bypass zip by Black Mesa, and copy all of them to your external sd card.
- Go to Settings App, Developer Options and enable OEM Unlock (If you don't see Developer Setings, go into About phone>Software info and tap "Build number" 10 times to show Developer Options menu).
- Do a backup of all your important data and files in your phone.
- Shutdown the phone. Once it's off, Power it On in Download Mode (Connect your phone to your PC, press and hold Power, Vol + and Vol - buttons together )
- Open Odin3, go in Option section and untick "Auto-reboot". Once that click the "AP" button and select the TWRP tar you downloaded before, then press the "Start" button.
- Once Odin3 finished to flash the recovery (you should see a "PASS" message), force reboot your phone (Press and hold Power and Vol - buttons together) and once the screen is off, press and hold Power and Vol + buttons together to boot in TWRP.
- Once TWRP is booted you first need to decrypt your /data partition. To do so touch Wipe>Format Data and follow the instructions in screen.
- Once it finished go back at the home screen and touch Reboot>Recovery. TWRP should be able to mount your data partition. Now flash the no-verity-opt-encrypt, Magisk(necessary to prevent bootloops) and RMM Bypass zip you downloaded before (touch Install and select each zip to flash it)
- You're now able to reboot to your OS without re-encrypting /data partition and without RMM Prenormal lock.

INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR ANY ROM FOR AGS-XXX (Mediapad T5)

Hello there. Hope this helps!
FIRST OF ALL, this WILL VOID your waranty. Read the steps BEFORE doing anything
ALSO PLEASE READ THE NOTES AT THE BELOW POST.
UNLOCK BOOTLOADER: It's not "easy" at all (You'll have to open your tab).
Go to device info on tab settings.
Press compilation number for several times until "you're a dev" message appears (It'll prolly ask your pattern/password to continue).
Go to dev options and enable OEM unlocking.
Shut down the tab.
Download PotatoNV sofware from here. (Credits to mashed-potatoes)
Download minimal adb and fastboot from here.
Prepare your environment:
Open your tablet
Grab a clip or a cable
Keep your cool
Follow the steps shown here. KEEP THE GENERATED CODE. This will avoid you from opening again the tablet in the case you have to do a downgrade. The way to unlock it again is writting
Code:
"fastboot oem unlock <code>"
at fastboot mode.
Here you have an image of where the testpoint is.
FLASH TWRP INTO THE TAB:
Follow CAREFULLY this steps:
Shut down the tab
Connect the tab to the PC and hold vol- & pwr button.
Now it'll appear a white screen with some text. If it appears "OEM unlock" in green, then everything's fine. IF NOT, follow unlock bootloader steps again. Then try rebooting into fastboot mode again (vol- & pwr).
Download Pretoriano80 .5 version TWRP from here.
Open Minimal ADB and Fastboot and write this:
"fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk path_of_twrp.img"
It should appear everything OK.
Type "fastboot reboot"
Fastly disconnect the tab from PC and hold vol+ & pwr button before Huawei logo appears (if it appears, just do a hard reboot (hold pwr button) and try again (just hold vol+ and pwr, no need to go back to fastboot).
You're now booting into TWRP!
RESOURCE DOWNLOAD
DOWNLOADING UNTESTED ROMS MAY LEAD TO MAJOR ERRORS
All HI6250 ROMs are "compatible" in some way, wouldn't recommend to install unless proven
A list with all tested and proven to work ROMs can be found here
Download any ROM you want from the above link. The list will be increasing with the time
Download the data decrypter from the MEGA folder (you can also find the link in the ROM list)
(OPTIONAL) you can download gapps. You can also download the version worked for me (little outdated) at the same MEGA link and update them later at the PlayStore.
(OPTIONAL) You can download Magisk from the "ZIPS" folder at the Mega link. GENERIC MAGISKS MAY (99%) NOT WORK ON THE GSIS.
PREPARATION STEPS
Boot into TWRP (vol- & pwr buttons while tab is off)
Don't make system Read Only (Just swipe the first window). This will lead you to a multiple choice menu
Head to INSTALL and select the decryter you will have in a SD card.
Swipe to confirm installation
Go again to main menu and head to WIPE and select "Format data option".
Type "yes" on the keyboard and press enter.
Then go to main menu and head to REBOOT>RECOVERY
If a message appears saying you to install TWRP app, just decline it.
Once in TWRP again, head to WIPE>ADVANCED WIPE and select dalvink/art cache, cache, data and system.
MARKING OTHER THAN THIS OPTIONS WILL LEAD TO AN IMPORTANT ERROR.
Return to main menu
THERE ARE 2 WAYS TO INSTALL A ROM:
1 -- VIA FASTBOOT:
Reboot your tab into fastboot mode (vol- & pwr buttons while connected to PC)
Open minimal adb and fastboot and type:
Code:
fastboot flash system <path_of_rom>.img
Now, wait... (Sparse header file error it's normal)
Once it has finished, type: "fastboot reboot" and disconnect from PC
2 -- VIA TWRP:
Once in TWRP head to INSTALL, press the "install image file" button.
Now head to the route where the .img file of the ROM is.
Select it, in the multiple choice menu select "SYSTEM IMAGE" and swipe to confirm installation.
Once finished, reboot to ROM or continue with the steps in order to get Google or Root working.
