Minecraft Education - GeyserReversion - PC gaming

Hey everyone,
For teaching purposes and several courses i am using Minecraft Education, i am creating worlds to teach children about Literature and Culture, but also about sustainability and modern techonology.
Now i want to create all of these worlds into 1 world and put it on a server so my colleagues will always have access to it whenever they are giving lessons.
We are doing this for a non-profit organization.
Now there was this plugin called GeyserReversion: https://github.com/bundabrg/GeyserReversion
But it's super outdated.
I've tried to mail the creator of this reversion but i had no response.
Is anyone wanting and able to update the GeyserReversion, or able to tell me how to do it myself?
It would make me and alot of children happy in this great way of teaching the children and for them doing something that interests them.
Kind Regards,
Dave

write on the minecraft plugins forum (ex. Bukkit, maybe)

Computer programmer

Just wondering if anyone on here is one.
Im really interested in become one but idk if I should go to a 4yr college
or a tech school (itt, devry etc..)
any advice?
university
A good well rounded university education is best if possible. Some start out and get a junior 2 year degree but make certain it's a match with the 4 year school you plan to get your BS degree. often it can take 5, 6 and even more years to finish. They give you projects with deadlines in a week. Computer Science requires much self-education so prepare to learn most things on your own. Programmers from Bill Gates and so on have made fortunes with their own initiative and creative spirit which one develops through intensive study and a drive to be creative much as an artist has. Programming is both a science and an art form.

Just don't buy a learn to program in 24hrs book
If you are to take that path, start programming before you enter college. I already programmed in a VB-like IDE for mobile devices a few years before I entered college and it saved my life. Since I already knew the basic concepts, I made it with nice grades while everyone struggled to understand our teacher.
Visual Basic might not be the best way to start, so I recommend a simple curly brace language like PHP (web-based, very permissive). If you already know HTML, you will love it.
Oh, and NEVER, EVER copy and paste code you don't understand. Take the time to grasp every function you use in your program/website. If possible, start from scratch and use 100% original code. It's the right way to innovate and make mistakes to learn from.
All the best!

I've found "For Dummies" books to be a great place to start and would have loved to know about it a few years ago. Heck I might have been a senior C++ or assembly programmer by now (jk)!
Hi,
I have to admit that I would start with VB.NET and then learn C/C++ eventually. Should have you covered for most platforms.
**** college. You can only learn to code by coding and reading - better prepare to spend a nice bit of hay at Amazon's.
I have a few recommended books here:

and also on the other sites.
Hows the salary?
To learn "Computer Science" you need to study at a college.
To "Program" all you need is interest and a logical mind.
I recommend Starting with C or Java, and then specializing in a niche area where you can get a lot of jobs. (For Ex: Android)
The salary is quite good when it comes to programming jobs if you can get hired at a place where your competences are valued.
how long did it take you to become a programmer and how is the work experience.
I'm not. I'm studying and slowly start to get web dev jobs. Work happens all at once and it's thrilling!
o thats cool did u go to a 4yr college or tech school?

Looking for a web developer that is interested in a business idea

Hey everyone,
I figured that if I need a developer that is as passionate about mobile technology as I am, this is the best place to come. I have a business proposition. And if there are multiple people interested I am more than willing to organize a group for this purpose. I have a great idea, and know what I want. However I need a business partner that has the technical skills to setup a website. I will be able to tell more after, if you are interested, have signed a NDA. The idea is first and foremost dealing with Android, but will eventually encompass most major mobile OS.
If you are interested in hearing me out please contact me at [email protected]
I have a dream and a passion and would love to find someone equally excited about the above mentioned topics.
You ask yourself why am I coming here? Because I am asking initially for your most important resource, which is time. But together we can leverage that time into a good capital, which I hope will be able to benefit all developers.
Thanks,

Computer Science Degree! Help!

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone here may have done a computer science degree and was able to help me answer a couple of questions:
1. Does it matter which university I go to? ( I'm thinking UCL, would that mean I would get paid more than going to like Nottingham?)
2. How is the job market?
3. Whats the best job that I can train to do to give me the highest salary?
4. Can anyone get me some work experience for a couple days or a week, as I would really like to see If I could handle it and if I like it?
Thanks
PS: I love computers and fascinated about developing programs like software engineering, but I have other interests to within the industry and open to any go jobs which offer a good salary of about 50k year.
Some universities have a better reputation than others but in my experience all the course will teach the same fundamentals. You'll have module choices etc so you can choose a specific direction in final year. Most graduates will go into a graduate development job. The direction you take from there will depends on the company you chose. I did Electronic and Software Engineering and it was mostly java. When I graduated and started work, I was doing a lot of web work, JavaScript etc. Now I'm shifting to a java development role.
I can only speak for Northern Ireland, but the job market is pretty good here for experienced developers.
Salary wise, most grad jobs will be similar. You won't go in to a "best salary" job right away, it will be dependant on the experience you gain. Its hard to pick a best area. Mobile development is pretty big now and a lot of web app development for stuff in the cloud. Pretty much everything I do is for web applications or web services.
Oh and good luck on getting a job after the degree is completed on 50k a year. You have virtually nil chance of that in the UK.

Betatesting anyone?

Hi guys,
I'm one of the admins of the travel social network tripcolony.com and I would be glad to receive your tips and suggestions regarding the website, along with some volunteers for spare-time and quick betatesting while using the platform. Our priority right now is to improve it (it's still in beta version!) and make it a comfortable and useful service for many travelers and socially open people in general. That's why your feedbacks are important.
A quick explanation about what it really is first, so you get the gist of it.
TripColony aims to be an easy-to-use social network built by travelers for travelers. It wants to offer the chance for those who love to explore the world to get to know more of their future destinations through friendships with people living on the spot. You create your public profile, your private one for your friends, you set your style, you share the knowledge you have of the places and you just help and get helped. And why not, you might grow friends all around the world and meet them eventually.
We look forward to grow a consistent user-base but what matters most is caring about people's needs.
Soon we will start a "bring a friend, get rewarded" campaign (and of course betatesters get rewarded as well).
I'd really appreciate if any of you checked it out and gave their opinions.

exchange year Questions

I know it isn't really the right site for it but who cares
Ok do you have anything to critisize on this answers
Have you volunteered or participated in community service? Please describe your participation and if/how you would like to participate in the US.
I am participating in a community service, it is a project from pupils to pupils with the purpose to let my classmates download free and legal music, that is realized by letting them download music from independent Artists who want to grow up their fan base with actions like that. And if I had the Chance to participate a Community Service in the US. I would be helping homeless People or children with problems because I think that everybody should have the same rights.
If you experience homesickness in the US, how do you plan on coping with it?
If I became homesick, I would take a walk alone to get a free mind even if it were just for the moment, after that I would make me clear that the part of my life where I had been protected from my parent’s has ended and I have to stand on my own feed to be successful in my Life. After I had realized that I would continue with living my personal American dream.
Describe in detail an interest or your participation in an activity that you enjoy. What difference has it made in your life and in the lives of others?
I want to describe my community service, first off I have to say that even when my favorite kind of music is Hip-Hop I’m interested in all kind’s of music. Because of that it was clear to me to do something with music, luckily my school was searching for pupil who are interested in this kind of social work. To be precise it is a project to let my classmates download free and legal music so they don’t have to be afraid that they will get a bill from the music industry for downloading it illegally. In fact our school isn’t the only one who is participating at the Project there is also another school, with that we had a two day seminar where we learned how to offer music free and legally. The reason why it makes fun to me is that it helps me to learn how websites work also it’s nice to discover new music. But I’m also helping other people by doing it. As an example the independent artists who was making the music and now their fan base expands because we gave the pupil the opportunity to download the music right to their music player.
What are your future goals?
At first I want to make my general qualification for university entrance, after that I want to study Computer Science and work as a software programmer the reason for it is that I’m interested in everything that has something to do with Computers but the most important fact is that I’m loving it to create new Things and I think that the most effective tool for me is programming.
Do you find any mistakes ?
