Is it possible to install ANX Camera on Redmi Note 9 which has Pixel Experience? - Redmi Note 9 Questions & Answers

Hello
I installed Pixel Experience on my Redmi Note 9 and now I want to try ANX Camera. Is it possible to install ANX Camera? If possible, what steps should I take?
Thank you,

Hi,
Can anybody help me?

I answer to myself. YES, if possible. I have already installed ANX Camera on my Redmi Note 9. No more lags in the shutter, no more lags when moving the phone while using the camera. It is working very well. Well, I haven't been testing the application for a while, but at the moment it works well and now I can use the 48 megapixels and in theory the four sensors. I'll keep testing, but in the short time I've been using the app, I do notice a difference in fluidity against the GCam. I am not saying that the GCam is not good, of course it works well, but at the moment I think ANX Camera works better.

Is it possible to use the 20 mp sensor with Google Camera?

Yes, i have camera2api enabled and the quality of the 12 mp sensor is stunning. But... i want to take adventages from the second sensor. I've tried some fu24 mods but all crashes right away you start the app.
Thanks in advance.
20mp is for the depth sensor and Mi A2 doesn't click pictures of 20mp. (i think so).

I'm not sure about this. In the Mi A2 page says that it uses the 12mp sensor to take daytime photos, and the 20mp to take low light photos. I think that the stock camera app can do this change automatically. But I'm not sure if GCAM app can do this too.
Probably GCAM is using the 12mp to every situation, and doing all the work into software, even to manage the portrait (focus) effect, ignoring the 20mp sensor.
It is possible but you will have only 5Mpx, because it's quadra bayer something technology
On latest pixel experience caf I can switch to low night lens (latest arnova gcam). On stock it doesn't work

Wow, do you use a magisk module or something? or only pixel experience?
It takes 20 mp photos or 5 mp like someone suggested?
Could you share samples?
Sorry, a lot of questions, i know, but i'm trying to see if it's worthy install pixel experience for the second lens, or with camera2api enabled on stock i'm fine.

I am using
MGC_6.1.021_Arnova_xcam_mi9_v8.apk
on
RR7. 1
In options you can enable second camera.
Pictures are 5mpx in size. There is some pink tint, but not much. Quality is same as using 12mpx camera. I will post samples later.

Only magisk module I have is pixel3 gcam enabler for mi a2(I think I found this on xda). GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.4.032219.1950.apk
Quality is not too low it is almost same with 12mp. Color correction is more accurate. It works for only photo and portrait (video, night sight tested others untested)
Edit: for samples I don't have stable interneth connection for now
Edit2: I found a way to use low light lens with night sight. After switching to low light lens just close your camera with your hand. on bottom try night sight will appear if you click that you can use it with night sight

Just got the phone today and I'm using this GCAM port, for the S10 https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1395089523397913303 it seems to work fine, haven't done any test, just a quick pic and it does seem better quality over the stock Samsung.
I've been using it for about 4 hours and the camera does not fully turn every time, most times it does, but I've had that happen a few times already, where it almost flips all the way to selfie mode, but stops at about 80% of the flip. Interested to know if this is common, I've seen a Youtuber with this issue as well, so just wondering if it's "normal" or not.

Had a bit more time to test it out and wow, GCam for the win, the difference is massive in low light, stock camera is very noisy, GCam, clean pic, makes this a great camera phone now.

The latest Gcam based on the Pixel 4's sensor works much better. I spent a lot of time trying and getting the best out of this sensor. Might compare it to the iP11Pro soon.

My friend @Xtergo can you give as a link for the Pixel 4 version you mentioned before?
already tried bsg arnova version & it's much better than stock in normal or portrait conditions but there's still missing features like live mode who give us actual bokeh effect. as far my experience gcam still lack on response time to open up / switching between mode camera maybe many more must be fixed considering that there has not been ported special for this device

Almost all modes work

Question Status of Custom ROMS for Note 10 Pro? - Upgrade Advise Needed

I'm looking to upgrade to the Note 10 Pro from my Note 8 Pro.
One of the main reasons why i don't like running a custom ROM in my Begonia (Note 8 Pro) is the fact that i loose a bunch of Camera features and even the ability to use the macro lens.
The devs in the Begonia thread and us Beta testers have risked our devices and had spent an unreasonable amount of time on getting custom ROM's running and to make much of the features functional in that device. But i know since this one has a Snapdragon processor, much of the resources needed to port features from other devices to this is already there.
I know the advantages of running a custom ROM. But i would like it if someone explains to me what device-specific OEM features that you are not able to use once you flash a custom ROM in the Note 10 Pro?
Appreciate the feedback!
1) cRDroid (has Mi CAM too)
2) ArrowOS
3) DroidOnTime
what device-specific OEM features that you are not able to use once you flash a custom ROM in the Note 10 Pro?
Not sure, don't use too many frills that it has. For 1, I think the IR blaster might not work. Not sure though.

Don't take adventure on your ass.
Indonesia ROM and you will be happy.
In terms of speed, smoothness and lack of problems, nothing beats this firmware.
And the camera is pretty good. Well, if it is infused correctly.
Good luck.
This is my first MIUI based phone and I bought it as a secondary device to only to flash a custom ROM.
I tried the latest Pixel Experience Plus (Aug 22 initial OSS build) and it I couldn't be happier (Well, maybe a bit if I could get a 108MP mode in GCam). The performance and battery life are fantastic. Not crash or moments of lag, stutters. So snappy, way better than MIUI.
GCam is working for Regular 12MP, wide angle, tele macro and portrait. The night shots are better than on stock. In case you need a 108MP mode, there is ANX camera. The quality might not match the stock 108MP, but it's a usable option. The selfies are also bright unlike GCam, though GCam has way more detail in the selfies than ANX or even stock.
I'm going to test Crdoid or dotOS soon to see what a degoogled experience is like, but I reckon it is going to be similar to PE+. PE+ has set a benchmark for me.
Also, a couple of bugs I've noticed on PE+ which might or might not stay with other ROMs is:
1. Auto brightness is a bit off and goes lower or higher than it should at times.
2. The front cam was crashing when I turned on face unlock. But because I prefer the fingerprint scanner, turned it off and no issues since then.
3. Features like AOD and Pocket mode have been known to be battery hogs, but I don't use them anyway.

Give you some information. Xiaomi released A11 kernel for begonia a few days and camera problems (maybe) can be fixed, wait for next custom rom A11 based before get new rmn10p.
And custom use ANX and Gcam, some problems maybe same with other device not only rmn8p.

Right now I'm testing few different Camera apps, ANXCamera + many differenet GCam MODS.
I'm looking for the best GCam MOD ... I think that I have found it!
The ANX Camera quality is the same as the stock MIUI camera ... have made a lot of test of both and have to say that ANX isn't bad at all!
You can see all my test and findings in this GCam Mods for Redmi Note 10 Pro tread here.

I decided to buy the phone and see after reading all your thoughts. I specially want to see if the high refresh rate works well with an AOSP ROM too because that's one of the main parts of the phone that i want to take advantage of. And I would be happy as @dnana9 mentioned if there's options for me to take advantage of all the lenses. Lets see how it goes.
You won't regret it. I have been hopping from stock to Pixel Experience to Xiaomi.EU to AOSP Extended, and every ROM has minor quirks, but overall better than stock MIUI. And beteeen the 5-10 options you have, you should find the sweet spot.

Haven't tested other AOSP ROMs than the AOSP Extended but have tested few MIUI based one and have to say that AOSP Extended is super truper fast!
I'm using the same ROM on my other phone Redmi Note 7 and the ROM there is also so fast and smooth as a pretty new car from Tesla ...

Yesterday I have found out (on my Redmi Note 11 with Superior-OS) that the pixelation / blur in photos (I thought it's caused by ****ty Camera app / driver) might be resolved by using better Gallery app:

It has fixed the quality / speed of the picture rendering -- during scolling & zooming of a picture (subway map) I have seen pixelated / blurred areas (for > 1sec) and I thought it's a camera problem. But when I used another gallery app, it was pixelated only for maybe 0.5sec and then it got perfectly sharp.
I mean it's not Windows so it doesn't show you the icon (when the app is busy and the user should wait) -- so I was not sure whether the app is busy rendering or not.
I noticed camer on the redmi is not as good as the camera on my MiA2. I am hoping gcam will fix that but I will have to use the stock camera app sometimes for pro mode.

I have noticed the "auto" picture with gcam is way better than the auto setting on the stock app. Using the pro mode on the stock app though I can get a more realistic picture by adjusting white balance etc manually but the image still isn't as crisp as gcam. Night mode on gcam is amazing too.
Can't seem to get the 50mp to work on gcam so can't compare that. I use the 50mp feature to take pictures of signs or large blocks of text, I can definitely get better clarity when zooming in but I wouldn't call it a great looking picture. Luckily that isn't why I bought the phone.
The camera doesn't knock out true 50mp photos , they pixels are arranged in groups of 4 so 4 small ones make up one bigger one hence the 12.5mp photos . 50mp photos are just enlarged 12.5 ones really . And You may notice a lot of versions of gcam are knocking out 8mp photos too , try the version I posted in the gcam thread with the XML ( it's got an agc extension for some reason ) . It produces 12.5s and it's the sharpest gcam I've seen yet , although white balance is a bit off it can easily be corrected in Snapseed
And tbh I'm starting to think this phone is a dog , phone call volume seems pretty low compared to my old x3 NFC . That with the Bluetooth audio dropouts , crappy camera .. only good thing about it is the screen lol
I am happy for now, aside from the camera it's still an upgrade from my MiA2 and it cost me less than a decent dinner in a restaurant.

Question Camera Photo Quality Improvement in Mi 11 Ultra

Greetings, my dear friends! As a proud owner of the Mi 11 Ultra, sporting the MIUI Global 13.0.5.0. SKAINXM stable ROM, I must admit that its camera quality is nothing short of exceptional. However, I'm keen to explore ways to elevate the photo-taking experience to new heights. Unfortunately, the camera doesn't come equipped with processing software to enhance the images, unlike its Samsung counterparts, which is causing some pixelation issues while zooming in on shots.
I did try to install the LEICA Filter edition of the Mi Stock camera App, but alas, the installation didn't go through. I've also explored other camera apps available on Google Play, but they pale in comparison to the stock camera app.
Therefore, I would be forever grateful if any esteemed users of this phone could share their insights on how to further improve its already-impressive performance.
Regards.
Not sure if it will help, I'm on MIUI 14 Weekly(23.3.7) from Xiaomi.eu.
What I have always done in all versions is to experiment in every situation between Forced HDR instead of Auto, AI on and off and 50mp photos. The same with videos.
Overall, HDR auto and AI on usually have more consistent photos.
