Question S8+ cases that allow for S-Pen charging? - Samsung Galaxy Tab S8

Can anyone recommend S8+ cases that allow for S-Pen charging?
I'm upgrading from a Tab S4 to an 8+. Most cases I see don't appear to allow the s-pen's to charge.
If you don't charge on the back, are there other ways to charge the s-pen?
Thanks,
Joe

I just use the official one for the Tab S7+, S7 FE, S8+, etc. It has a little hill towards the top of it that holds the S-Pen in place where it charges. It's a little up there in terms of price, but it's exactly what you're describing.

There is this keyboard one that has flap for back part, that let's you open it to put or remove s-pen from charging spot. Right now there is no other location to charge s-pen, only the back side.

I would say that almost every third-party case allow to charge s-pen due to it has a hole where you can put s-pen for charging it using the table. Don't remember a case which didn't have such hole (I had s4, s6, s7+ before and s8u now).

Thanks all. I've ordered one of the cheaper covers on Amazon to start with. Are the expensive Samsung covers really worth the cost? I have a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard I used with my Tab S4 -- is the keyboard cover really worth so much money?

I would generally say no, not worth that much money. The biggest reason I have one is they were "free" with pre-order. They could be worse, but they could be better. I'm pretty picky about keyboards, and even pickier about "mice" as I've preferred Logitech trackballs for about 26-27 years.
But the convenience of the built-in keyboard and trackball are nice in a pinch.

I see. Thanks again for your thoughts.

I would say no. I had a lot of different third party cases and in some reasons they are better than the original one. Personally I would recommend Mokocase's case for tab series - good quality and not so expensive.

Note: Mokocase doesn't appear to make a Tab S8 (any model) case yet. It looks like at least some of its Tab S7 cases will fit some of the S8 models, although definitely not the Ultra.

Keep in mind that anything from aliexpress can be clones and copies. So if official site of Mokocase is not listing any cases for galaxy tab s8 ultra then this one you linked is not original.

What @Jake.S said. I always start straight at the source (Moko's website) and at the time nothing was listed for the Tab S8, but Amazon does list some of their Tab S7 cases as also fitting some of the Tab S8 models.

Otterbox Defender case for the Galaxy Tab

Has anyone seen one of these in person? I've only seen them on the Verizon Wireless website. I sent an email to Otterbox and they said it is exclusive to Verizon and they don't have any plans to make a Commuter case, which would be my preference. Does any one have any other detailed pictures of one of these? I'd like to have a better idea of how bulky the case is before I attempt to buy one.
http://www.verizonwireless.com/otterbox-defender-cover-w-kickstand-1.shtml
huh, I thought it was some kind of glitch since it wasn't on the otterbox site. I have the commuter for two other phones and like them, would have preferred that over the defender.
I use the Commuter cases for my BB...they are quite good and very low profile! I also sent them a mail...wish they would hurry up and manufacture some...even Defender cases would be fine...

Manufacture some what? They are already making the Defender case but you can only buy it from Verizon. They have no plans to make a Commuter series case for the Galaxy Tab according to the email I received.
I received my Otterbox for my Galaxy Tab today. It seems very nice, and as normal for Otterbox defenders very bulky. I do not mind the bulk knowing that my device is stronger/safer. My fav part of the case is the removable back piece that can pop up into a kickstand (rubber feet and all) for the tab.
None the less, here are a few pics I took with my phone.

The only place that I found it available is Verizon.com. I don't know how they have it when no one (including otterbox themselves) seems to be able to get it. I tried to find it discounted on the interwebs first with no luck.
Are you able to post the dimensions of the otterbox defender?
Also, can you confirm that the removable back cover also fits over the front to protect the screen when not in use.
They are not available here in new zealand (but then again, neither is the galaxy tab), so I might get a friend to pick one up from optus in australia.

Dimensions: 1.25 X 5.5 X 7.75 Inches (3.18 X 13.97 X 19.69 CM)
The back cover will fit on the front, but where it is not touching any of the tablet except for the 4 corners, it does not feel solid any longer. It has a small wiggle to it. It is nice just to protect the screen, just does not feel the same.
Thanks.
Does it give you access to all the ports? Bottom samsung cable port, micro schc, mic, speakers and the head phone jack?
I'm a mountain biker. When I go for a ride my current solution is to swap the sim card out if my tab into my old rugged nokia. I was considering a defender + a dry bag as an alternate solution. What do you think?

No, not all ports. The sim and the sd card are covered. You would have to remove the case to swap them out. The data cable, mic speakers and headphones are all accessible with the case on.

Yes it does. Try doing a search for "Otterbox Galaxy Tab" in the search at Verizon Wireless. I don't think they allow direct links. It always dumps you to the home page from a link.
its by otterbox, its a compatible defender interactive case which also sells on www.discountcell.com/cellular/pn/Samsung_SAM2-GTAB7-20-E4OTR

they also sell them here but its more expensive $69.95 compared to 49.95 on discountcell

Keyboard/Case Recommendations for Nexus 10

I'm looking for recommendations from other users for their top 2 or 3 best keyboard/case combinations for the Nexus 10. I just returned a Minisuit combo to Amazon because the keyboard simply didn't turn out to be as described in the product information. Obviously I should have kept the Minisuit prior to returning it so time is of the essence in getting a replacement ASAP.
Thanks!

I hate to say it but the design of the Surface tablet's keyboard is slick, it provides a front cover and a keyboard all while connecting via its magnetic pogo. I have high hopes someone designs one for the Nexus. Why are we so far behind the ball on this?

Now that I've tested two cheap combos that turned out to be the same units but branded differently, I'm going the separate route. Actually Kensington & another manufacturer (can't remember the name at the moment) make what I think are very good keyboards akin to the Surface.

I think that the Poetic Keybook Removable Keyboard case is pretty decent. That is the one that I bought which i found here http://www.pctabletcases.com/nexus-1...ssories-guide/. They also have a couple other cases but the reviews on that aren't as good. The Poetic case isn't the greatest case but it does serve its purpose well.

Hit the Submit button by mistake. Anyway, Poetic & Minisuit will be reported for potential violation of Seller S&P on Amazon. I'll leave it at that for this discussion. Caveat Emptor...

+1 to this, but I bought the $35 "Poetic Keybook Removable Keyboard" on amazon for the time being.
It has some stupid strap and arbitrary sized keys imo. Also the bluetooth has lag sometimes. I really want them to go the route of the microsoft surface keyboard design. Mainly because of less lag when typing vigorously.

Spare stylus

Does any one know if we can get a spare stylus for the note 9? I don't need the blue tooth, or paired capabilities but the precision would be nice.
Or would any cheap eBay stylus work?

Well obviously you can, a 2 second eBay search would have told you that.
Maybe I was unclear. But I'd still like the cursor accuracy of a hovering s-pen. e.g the tiny cursor or pointer when the s-pen is over the screen.
I didnt think the cheap ebay ones could do. At least not according to the sellers I've asked. Or Can I pair2 genuine S-pen at the same time? But thanks for your response.
I have a Samsung 10.1 2014 tablet and tried it. It seems to work as usual. So you could pick up Note 8 one which would technically fit in into the slot. Or you could get the tablet one. You can find either on Amazon or eBay

A second spen will work, u just need to disable the detect spen in (enable power saving) in spen settings. Only the spen that is in the slot can use bluetooth.

Or better still you can check Samsungs website. Offers come up often. Just picked up a spare S-pen for under £15
The S-Pen from my Tab S4 and the S-Pen from my Notebook Pro 9 all work with my Note 9. I'd just buy another pen from Samsung's official store. Don't take a chance on third party. That way is full of heartache.
Picked up a brown Spen and brown LED case to match. Spen was £14.80 or something silly!
LED case was £29 in the same sale [emoji41]

I'm curious, for what do you need a spare stylus? Are you concerned about losing the original? Or are you wanting to use two stylii at the same time?

Question S-view case with pen

So.. asking anyone who has the official Samsung s-view case with pen holder.
Is it worth it?
89.99 is a bit steep for a case in my opinion.
not just a case, i believe it also comes with the spen. i have the back cover case, comes with spen.
Thanks but not really my question.
1) What is the point of the s-pen?
2) How well does the s-view functions of the case work?
89.99 US is a high price for a case with a stylus.
what is the point of spen?
what is the point of galaxy note series then.
what is the point of getting a case with spen slot if you not going to use the spen.
No idea. Never used a note before.

The S Pen is the official stylus of Samsung devices. It'll give you a great stylus experience if that's your thing. If you don't need it, or don't think you want it? Just opt for the S View case without the pen.

It can be used in a variety of ways. The most common is for drawing or taking notes. Some also use it as more of a dedicated "mouse" instead of their fingers to move through the device and browse webpages.

The magnetic kickstand is part of the keyboard, it's not included. I believe some other company, maybe Spigen, also sells cases for the Tab S8 Ultra, which includes a kickstand. I think the regular S8 takes the same cases as the Tab S7, and likewise the S8+ does as the S7+. I forget you're looking at the S8 Ultra, not S8.
The pen is included. No charger is included, only a cable that I have no idea is capable of the fastest charge the S8 Ultra can take.
Good luck with your decision.
As stated above, the magnetic kickstand is part of the keyboard. SPen included and cable usb c to usb c. The cable is long, but no super fast charging 2.0 with the included cable. I bought my tab s8 ultra as a package deal/special...keyboard and samsung 65w charger included for less then what I would have paid just for the tablet alone....look around for specials....keyboard works great
Thanks.. Unfortunately in my country there is much difference in price if you buy the full pack with the keyboard.. I found the 8/128 without the keyboard for 760€. If i want the keyboard, they sale versio 12/256 for 1200€. The difference is to much for me although you take more ram and internal ssd.. (i don't need it, i have 512gb microsd).
I already have windows tablet galaxy book 12 with keyboard, so work will still being done there. So i don't need to much the keyboard in s8 ultra, but i do need a magnetic kickstand, and i haven't find one.. Only cases with kickstand, no magnetic..
If i buy samsung keyboard with the magnetic kickstand it has 240€..
