Or use Brave browser which blocks many but has its own VPN too.

I use the Samsung Internet browser (stable or beta) which has many adblock plugins, specific and officially available like AdGuard (the best), AdBlock, ABP, etc.

Brave, etc doesn't globally block ads from installed apps, my fix does...

Not fully but when I use the DNS approach, sometimes the phone will not connect to the data server. It took me a while to work out the resolution, disable DNS again. So as I was fed up having to do this now and again and losing data connection randomly, I just chose Brave as an alternative but whatever floats your boat. I am only trying to give the guy an alternative.

It will block some black listed sites which is a good thing. Very rarely do I need to disable it*. Been using it for over 6 months now. It gives me very little trouble... occasional slow downs. It enhances security.
Your carrier may be part of the problem, I'm on AT&T.
Presumably the full paid version works better.
*it's easy to toggle off if needed.

Is there a way to install vanced without manager? I have vanced on all mine devices, but I can't install it on ultra.. tried newpipe, and couple more alternatives but it's not possible to login with g account, and that's a deal breaker..

If I remember well, to be able to install the vanced manager app one should disable fist the MIUI optimization in the developer's settings.
Anyway Youtube vanced has reached its end-of-life, due to Google threats.

I I have root and unblocked bootloader and have no issues with the installation through vanced manager. I just enable the option to install app from unknown sources for manager and installation goes smoothly

[Q] Market Issues?

Hi guys,
Is it just me, or are there a large number of apps that just don't want to install from the Android Market on the O2X?
The biggest omission seems to be Facebook. The official app used to install just fine, but not since 1.6.1. There's other strange ones too, like the official Not Always Right app [market link]. Why would that not be O2X compatible?
I am currently running CM7.1 nightlies on my phone, so that may be contributing to the issue, but seriously, what gives here? Is anybody else having any issues like this on either CM or official firmware?
I updated Facebook about an hour ago, no problem. Not Always Right installs fine too.
I'm on CM nightlies, #114 at the mo.
So it's just me then? Awesome, that makes me feel special!
...actually, I just updated to b114 then, and now everything installs again. How bizarre - nothing major in the build.prop seems to have changed from previous builds?
OK.. so.. problem solved then. Move along, nothing more to see here...
Bee to the Ewe to the Em to the Pee!
This is really annoying me. I'm now on CM7 b127, and I go to install the nifty new Woolies app.
This is what I get:
{

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This is driving me bonkers. I have no idea what is going on to make this happen all the time. Does anybody have any potential solution?
Not compatible with mine either, you'll have to blame the creator for that one though.
yes, but...
:crazyface:
Ah, that's not right, mine has it as compatible.
I'm on a kang build of CM7 (pre-128, for EXT4 support) with Market v3.1.3 installed on /system
Hrm
So I uninstalled all the Market updates on the phone, and was able to install the Woolies app (it may be unavailable outside of Australia btw), but the website is still cracking the ****s at me and saying it's not compatible.
Sigh!
Hello everyone, I've got a pretty big problem, ever since I tried to use Market Enabler(not sure though if that's the cause), I can't download/update anything from the Market. It stays on "Downloading...", the download bar is animated, but it doesn't fill like it should. Browsing is ok(also downloading from the browser), youtube, even searching on the Market, etc., everything until I try downloading/updating an app.
I've cleared cache, installed an older version of Market, rebooted, remounted SD card, port 5228 is ok... I'm really out of ideas...
It was working fine until I installed Market Enabler yesterday to try to install a Japanese Market app. I've since uninstalled MEnabler(after restoring default SIM settings). If you've got any ideas, please help. Thx.
Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All -> Market -> Clear data
Sent from my LG Optimus 2x using XDA Premium App
Doesn't work, I've even installed the Market again, nothing...
I also can log in to gtalk just fine.
Edit: Fixed it by changing phone language, thanks to temasek.

[Q] Google Wallet: Device Not Ready

I've seen threads on this issue for other devices, but none in the HTC One section so thought I might try and see if anyone here can help.
I got my HTC One on Friday and flashed CM 10.1 once the phone was activated. Everything is working fine, except Google Wallet keeps saying the device is not ready.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

}
Things I've tried:
1. Force stop of NFC Service and Google Wallet, clear cache/data on both, purchasing app on play store, then rebooting.
2. The Xposed Module for Google Wallet
3. Waiting 24 hours (apparently it can sometimes take 24 hours for SIM cards to be fully activated, but I can make/receive calls, get data, etc so that shouldn't be an issue)
4. Editing build.prop to change device name
5. Installing previous versions of Wallet
6. Crossing my fingers and praying to the Google Gods. Then rebooting.
Does anyone know what might be causing this or how to fix it? I'm going to try wiping the phone and then re-flashing CM, but am keeping that as a last resort.

It will automatically come.
But if you want to keep your gms installed, better don't update.
After update gms install becomes impossible, and every time you successfully install it, the device will automatically reboot and uninstall it.
Hi, there! Does anyone know where I can get honor magic 3 pro plus update tracker? It's been a long time I dont get any security update and I wonder if there's something wrong. My device is running on Magic UI 6.0.0.125

Hey man.
I've been using Honor Magic 3 Pro without gms for a long time now.
Actually haven't had any problems.
Most of the apps work normally without gms, and u can install them from Aurora Store.
YouTube has Vanced Extended.
Even sign in with Google works on most apps nowadays, through Huawei browser.
For other apps Just use gbox.
It has custom version of all gms apps. That installs like a original app, and gives you full functionality.
And for apss that really require gms and standalone apps are not available from gbox, install on gbox and install a shortcut.
Use a few days and you won't even feel the lack of Gms, except on many rare occasions.
And gbox customer support is good. On WhatsApp you can contact them, and if u have the skills, you can customize any standalone app integrated with gbox, with their instructions.
And for the rare occasions that gbox glitches, like on biometrics, use gspace for those apps.
And I've even found a easy way to enable backups for WhatsApp on drive using your device.

Yup about the smoothness, when things don't work, it won't work. Just give up, otherwise when it works, it works fine.

Question Google play store on chinese rom

How can I install the play store on the Chinese rom? I've tried downloading it from APK mirror and it says "Couldn't sign in There was a problem communicating with Google servers. Try again later." I've tried clearing the cache and no help.
Solved! "Google basic services" has to be enabled. It's found in the drop down menu within apps management in settings.
Just install it from the ZUI Store app on the tablet. You might need to use a phone camera to help translate..

I just flashed the stock chinese rom from the global rom. I actually figured it out. There's a setting in the app management tab in the settings where you have to enable google services. I had installed play services, google play store, chrome, etc... Factory reset a few times too. But I was poking around the app management and was looking at system apps to see if something was disabled that I needed and saw "google basic services" as an option and I was able to turn that on, and everything works now. So I hope if anyone else has that issue they come across this thread.

It was late at night, I meant to say Amazon Prime. I assume it works but I thought I read on some Chinese roms that Netflix works but Prime Video doesn't. Hopefully I'm wrong, it's annoying if a device has Widevine L1 but some apps still don't work.

Question Android auto problem? Does it work wireless mode?

As you know, android auto does not work on the x90 pro plus wired (error code is -22), Is there a friend who also experiences wireless android auto?
If it works, am I thinking of buying a wireless interface device for my car?
thank you
Nope, without root is doesn't work on any OS made for Chinese market like rotten oranges.
Actually I think you can get android Auto to run. It's a bit complicated but it works.
1. Install shizuku and start shizuku server
2. Install lspatch
3. Install saax (lsposed)
4. Install saax as app in lspatch
5. Install Android Auto
6. Don't connect any device with USB debugging as it will instantly kill shizuku. If lucky Shizuku runs a couple of days before vivo kills it.
7.. Install package manager (shizuku), and give the missing rights to android auto. This will be needed to confirm the key from the car. Same way kinda as pairing shizuku with floating window.
8. Even though android auto should work now, you cannot use voice commands as continued conversation isn't working and hey google isn't working.

Actually lspatch is quite interesting. Can use it to install lucky p***. And then use lucky p*** to get rid of some of the vivo crap in the system by recompiling apks with fake signature (guess that only works on your phone, sharing the apks will not be possible).
Basically you can use it to remove rights from apks. Doesn't work with all system apps and needs some tinkering but definitely helps to remove some crap you cannot debloat. Makes it possible to get some google stuff working that shouldn't work on origin OS.
Can also use it to remove services from non system apps to save battery and unwanted communication...
Some other working lspatch modules are let me downgrade, corepatch, and disable flag secure.
