LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12L, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

I haven't done anything about it. But sure I will fix it as soon as possible if it still persists.

Dhina17, thank you so much for everything! I'm sure LineageOS 19.1 will be as good as LineageOS 18.1 was for Redmi 7!

I'm not sure it's an issue with the build as it is with the hardware.
Anyway, I'm currently downloading LOS 19 and wanted to thank you very much for doing this.

What GApps package should i flash? OpenGapps 12L test or mindthegapps from Lineage Wiki? I'm currently using OpenGapps nano on LOS 18.1 and am not sure if I should flash mindthegapps over my existing OpenGapps installation

I know, what I'm asking is that I've been using this rom since LineageOS 17.1 with OpenGapps nano. I dirty flashed 18.1 with OpenGapps nano test and it would of course work since it was the one already installed, but now I'm not sure if I should dirty flash Mindthegapps over OpenGapps. This phone is my daily driver and i don't want to mess it up lol

When will there be performance profiles in Lineage os 19?
When I put the games on maximum they work well, in this new version it is not and it is not so good for me

Dirty flash MindTheGapps over OpenGapps nano when upgrading major version of LineageOS should work, or you can wipe system to make sure the no addon.d script will be executed when upgrading.
If you really want to use OpenGapps nano, find the build that's confirmed to work on A12L, because OpenGapps often release broken builds.
For official LineageOS, if you're using add-ons or modifications that aren't supported or recommended, you're on your own.

Hey, I was able to install 19.1 without any data loss by dirty flashing mindthegapps

I remember seeing this question on reddit and the lineage dev team guys said it will not be in LOS anymore (because of stability issues i think)

I can't seem to add my wifi during setup wizard.
It just gets stucked at "Authenticating".
I did a clean install and installed 0605 build of MTG.
EDIT: Nvm. Just forgot the last character.
EDIT 2: 1. It doesn't let me change my connection to "Static" instead of te default DHCP during the setup wizard.
2. I'm not sure if it's MTG (0605 build) that's causing the issue but when I was logging in to my Google account, I chose the text message for 2FA but it didn't automatically put in the code during setup wizard. I saw all the text messages on the Messages app though.

use a translator, sorry
lineage os 19 does not have those performance profiles, they have worked very well for me in lineage os 18
19 does not have them, for games it does not go so well without that profile
I thought that maybe they already removed it in android 12 or can it be added?
translator again, sorry

the rom is fine for daily use, I like that simple style, but I also use it for games, and it goes much better when activating that option, hopefully if they can add it again, I like the 19 but for the use that it I give I'm going to stay with 18
use translator, sorry

Last night I upgraded three Redmi 7s from LOS 18 to LOS 19 and they seem to be working fine. Still yet to check the call volume, though.
Looks great. Thanks for your work.

Besides the small issues I've faced during Setup Wizard.
The ROM is running fine.
It seems to be slightly more faster/responsive than the LOS 18.1, from installing my apps to loading apps but I'm not sure if that's just because I did a fresh install..

I've noticed the ripple animation in the system and in apps is a little glitched out. In the settings app the ripple animation is grainy (tiny white dots inside the ripple)
In other apps where this animation is supposed to have rounded corners (like Google Messages), the corners are not properly rounded (see attached videos)
Edit: the videos don't seem to attach, I'll send links maybe
Edit 2: Links:
In settings app
In Google Messages
Edit 3: oh it seems "it is a feature"
Edit 4: after a few hours of usage I've now gotten used to the glitter animation and it's unnoticeable now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The rom goes very fast, the only thing that is really annoying is that when making or receiving calls the call interface does not appear, is there any way to solve this problem?

* I am not responsible for what may happen to your device, it is simply a solution that worked for me *
I found a solution for this problem the problem was in the NikGApps the shortest solution is:
1
Flash the rom first then reboot
2
Boot up, set the device normally and turn it off
3
Start recovey and flash NikGApps ( preferably the latest Canary version:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/nikgapps/files/Canary-Releases/NikGapps-R/03-Feb-2021/ )
4
Reboot.

I recommend you to make a clean install, but you can try dirty. As for stability: almost everything is stable, but I would not recommend it if stability is critical.

So, everyone writes that even if the ROM has easily discoverable bugs, BUT, how stable is this ROM? I'm trying to find a good one for a daily driver that won't let me down in an emergency but so far it seems that all the ones I've seen are either a beta or have obvious bugs even though they're called "official" The only one I would potentially end up on is MIUI.
Can it be used as daily Driver?
Netflix and other apps thar block rooted phones are working fine?
Hi, I was using LOS 17.1 for MicroG without any issues but recently upgraded to LOS18.1 for MicroG (downloaded from lineage.microg.org and verified the download). Everything works well except for the camera. Out of the box camera app freezes frequently and then I tried Open Camera and a another camera app. Open Camera is a bit stable but still freezes regularly. Problem is worse when the camera app is being called by other apps.
I note that this has been reported in LOS forum but wondering whether there is a quick work around for this problem.
Many thanks.

Hi, actually this is the wrong thread to post it.
But your solution is to replace new cam blobs with oldcam blobs and flash a kernel that is made for oldcam blobs.
I am attaching the oldcam blobs file for los that can be flashed through recovery. But note that you must change the kernel afterwards that supports oldcam. Otherwise camera will not work at all.

Thanks very much for the response. From what you are saying, I feel it may be easier to just downgrade to LOS17.1 which I was using before? I guess the other option I have is to wait for the next update to see whether the issue will be fixed in that release.
Thanks for your suggestion and clarification.

i am also using los Q because i find it the most stable one. I m using loscam patch in Q as well for better video quality although.
And the camera issue wont get fixed until and unless someone takes over the development of los. currently it has no maintainer and tge builds we get are automated with los source side changes, not device side changes.

@Walden0, I thought I might give your suggestion a try before downgrading to 17.1 version. Can you please clarify the following?
1. To add the old camera blob, I could install this zip via Yellowfox Recovery?
2. How can I find out which kernel will support this oldcam blob?
Many thanks.
I have never heard of yellowfox recovery but if its based on twrp then most likely it should be able to flash the zip. (maybe you mean orangefox, if yes then you can flash)
The kernel should have "oldcam" or "old" in its name.

Just being color blind!!...of course, it is Orange Fox Recovery!!
Interestingly, after I did my post, I just opened Settings->Apps->Camera and pressed 'force stop'. Then I started Open Camera which is what I normally use and so far it appears to be behaving OK. I tried a few still shots and one or two short videos - no freezing as yet but it is too early to know. I will keep testing over the next couple of days and see how it goes.
Thanks for your prompt response.
Just to report that the work around by disabling the Camera app so far have fixed the problem.
Any one who has the same problem may want to try out the following steps;
1. Go to Settings->Apps->Camera->Force Stop
2. Then use an installed app such as Open Camera
Note this is not a permanent solution but a work around and this has to be done each time the phone is rebooted.
EDIT: updated to 6 Dec 21 version and the camera behaves even worse than with the initial install! The above fix does not work anymore although it worked most of the time with the November update.
This ROM was abandoned, pitty, much more polished than official https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...8-1-for-redmi-note-7-lavender.4381893/page-10.
But both suffer from the same issue: no Mass Storage Gadget so that UMS can work to make memory as USB drive.

I noticed that I was building with the WITH_SU=true option.
I'm currently creating a build that doesn't have LineageOS SU.
If you're in a hurry, you can use LineageOS su removal (arm64) Version 16.0 to solve this problem.
(In my environment, I was able to solve it by using this.)
Thank you!
I have just released a new version.

I'm using NikGApps.
But in this LineageOS build, the NikGApps installer doesn't work, so I created a GApps Magisk module instead.
NikGapps Core, Basic Magisk Module installers, and a module that removes LineageOS apps whose functions overlap with Basic.
*It is used personally, I do not guarantee complete operation.
GitHub Module Download Page
Also, the official NikGApps installer has files to install in [Installer-File].zip/AppSet/[AppName]/[AppName].dat.br
If you extract [AppName].dat.br with 7-zip etc. and copy the files in it to the corresponding location of /system with a file manager, you can install it manually without using the Magisk module or the official installer.
Example: __etc__permissions -> Copy the files in that folder to /system/etc/permissions/
Example2: ___priv-app___PrebuiltGmsCore -> Copy the files in that folder to /system/priv-app/PrebuiltGmsCore/
If you want to use Google Setup Wizard, you need to format /data after manual installation.

Sorry, I have no plans to continue building LineageOS 18.1 until official distribution begins.
The reason is that my Essential Phone was physically broken today.
(Please be assured that this LineageOS 18.1 Build is not the cause)
Therefore, I will not build for this model until we get it second hand again.
(If I build in the future, I'll post it in this thread to let you know.)
(However, considering the official build start time of LineageOS 17.1 last year, I think that the LineageOS 18.1 build will be officially distributed around next month.)
Thanks for this rom; enjoying trying it out.
Does VoLTE work properly on this ROM?
Hi,
For those who can't wait.
I've followed the instructions from
。・゚・ヾ(。•﹏•。)ノ゙・゚・。(https://github.com/conochy/LineageOS/tree/mata-18.1.)
You can download the files here :
MediaFire
MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

And how do you like it? Any mejor bugs?
It's my daily driver since March 12, but I don't use Magisk and Gapps.
I was on ArrowOS before. They seems on par, at least for my usage

Hey i'm having an issue where my cellular radio keeps connecting and disconnecting rapidly. Anything I can try to fix this? I've tried both your latest build and the official build.
Edit: Ive now observed the behavior after a fresh install. It only starts to happen after the device has been restarted. It will operate fine up until that point.
Edit 2: When I roll back to recovery lineage-17.1-20210329-recovery-mata.img and lineage-17.1-20210329-nightly-mata-signed.zip everything seems to work fine. So the issue must be in the latest builds.

On my phone, there was no particular problem with the connection of the cellular line (Japan, NTT docomo).
LineageOS 18.1 has some network bugs, such as Wi-Fi (WPA3), which I think are related as well. However, I think it will be fixed in the near future.
The official update for 2021.04.05 fixes some networks and APN, so give it a try.

Installed the latest update still getting mostly the same symptoms. LTE network connecting and disconnecting rapidly still. Only difference is the device will no longer crash haha. I connect via Koodo mobile in Canada in case anyone else is having a similar issue.
I have a second essential phone I'm going to test this out on.

Thank you @LumenReaper for this build!
I can confirm fingerprint is not working, but this is no bigger issue to me.
Flashed Magisk and changed fingerprint two times. But safetynet is still failing - no idea. My sim card is also not detected.
I use the tablet for youtube and yatse mostly. Youtube Vanced workes fine and my Bose headphones are also connected and working.
Looking forward to this ROM thank you.

Thanks for installing. Glad to hear you're getting along with the current feature set. I should have mentioned that my tablet has WiFi only. Feel free to send me a log if you want, but I expect it will be difficult to fix it without the device itself.
Personally, I have not had any problems with failing safetynet. In which situation does it cause you problems?
Will continue with the fingerprint scanner as soon as I have time again.

I do not see any issues with failing safetynet so far. It was working in 17.1 so I just wondered about the error after changing the fingerprint of the device by the help of magisk.
I will try to build the rom on my own with your sources - hopefully I can help with the non working SIM card.

If you need a SIM card , fingerprint or camera then you need to wait. For normal multimedia usage I call it stable enough.
That won't matter for me, I'll flash the ROM and patiently wait until those work on the new ROM.

Do you think this wll also work for the TB-X705F, the successor model?
I've installed this ROM but one thing I noticed is that the internal storage and the contents in it aren't visible at all on MiXplorer Silver (The file manager I use)
It isn't visible at the default file manager too so I rolled back to Lineage OS 17.1
I would appreciate if this is fixed @LumenReaper

I cannot confirm this problem. The default files app shows me the internal storage and an SD card with content. If I would have had such a serious problem, I would not have published the rom yet.

Great work Lumenreaper! (now I need to find the courage to install it on the only operational tablet that I own )

first of all: thank you very much khalvat! i didn't expect that..
but android 12 gapps for android 13?
Thanks! I will use it as daily driver now. Everything seems working just as the last build from Android 12.
Please when you try to fix, on klte / klteduos,if you can, please fix to work on 3G only mode. On Android 11 and 12 and many other builds I tried from your custom ROM only 4G works but I preffer 3G as its more stable where I live. Thanks in advance

Wow thanks
Running Quite smooth on a SM-G800W8 but Emulators like to run quite slow unless I hold my finger on the screen, Thank you.
Great news, thanks Khalvat. Would it work if i made a dirty flash over your android 12.1 rom? I tell you it cause gapps are the same. Thanks in advanced.
since the power button is not working on my KLTE I won't be able to install cuz I wake the screen with that button I will wait for a fix
Thanks so much for supporting our 8 year old phone! I noticed that adoptable storage doesn't work anymore (it did on 19.1). The option doesn't show up when you insert an SD card, it just says "SD card for transferring photos and media". If I manually format it with `sm partition <disk> private` then the phone bootloops (gets to lock screen for a few seconds then crashes). Just wondering if there is a plan to get this working soon, because I fill up my phone's space fairly quickly .
Thanks again for keeping our old phones up-to-date!

Same here, stuck on the LOS animation for an hour. Same as the last couple 19.1 builds (w/ or w/o Gapps). July 19.1 is the last one that works fine.
@kltelegacy - This is on klte. From the 12.1 thread - others (only on klte) had the same issue:
Unfortunately, on klte, both TWRP update and clean install fail to boot (sits on LOS animation forever), even w/o any Gapps. I had also tried MtG and OpenGapps 12L unofficial nano and micro, same thing. I had the same issue was on the Aug build, but Jul was fine. No SIM installed.

Thank you very much, Sir KHALVAT for your unpayable effort in keeping our beloved Samsung Galaxy S5 KTLE always running the latest Android release. I did a clean installation of the ROM and flashed the BitGApps version 1.4 as recommended, and since the first day I am using my phone without any severe issue. The installation through TWRP version 3.6.2_9-0 went smoothly, and so did the first setup of the phone through the wizard. All my data and configurations saved on Google Drive were restored.
Today, I noticed in one of the repositories on GitHub that SELinux will pass to ENFORCING in the next release of the ROM. I hope that the missing functionalities mentioned in the OP will also be implemented.
For all those users following the thread, please do a clean installation if you really wish to enjoy Android 13 on your KLTE device.
Once again, many thanks to KHALVAT and all those contributing in code and / or giving constructive feedbacks.

Fixed the thread for the android 10 thing.
About safetynet/play integrity API, LineageOS doesn't allow supporting workarounds or hacks to make it pass on it. You can still pass it using magisk and some modules to override the device's properties.
I could have released a ih8sn package to change properties on bootup so that the safetynet passes by default, but due to one specific vendor blob in our display stack (taken from stock), all the display color changes would break if properties don't match stock (such as night light or livedisplay).
In the future I might figure out how to fix this and release a ih8sn flashable or just make an unofficial build with safetynet workarounds in place. But for now that isn't the case.
Tldr: official LineageOS builds don't pass safetynet by default, you can make it pass with magisk. Once safetynet passes the L1 DRM certification is present.
@DD3Boh
Thank you very much for the effort and development.
I want to report an error with the "double tap to wake" it is intermittent, on occasions it reacts or stops working, in addition to the fact that it takes approximately two seconds to react after the screen turns off, I attach evidence and the log.

Great ROM. keep up the good work. Installed as a daily driver.
Can anyone tell what about autobrightness/color profiles in LOS 20? Does sRGB profile exist and how's it working. It's the only thing that stops me to flash that ROM and leave Android 11 stock.
Amazing stuff, dirty flashed over my unoffical build and it is working great

After installation of LineageOS 20 booting the Zenfone from the TWRP image like this
Bash:
sudo fastboot boot /data/backup/ASUS_ZENFONE8/twrp/twrp-3.7.0_12-0-I006D.img
does not work any more:
The phone shows the ASUS logo and hangs. There is no logfile from TWRP in /data/recovery.
A factory reset was done before instaling LineageOS.
Booting the phone from the previous TWRP version, twrp-3.6.1_12-1-I006D.img, also does not work
Booting the phone from a TWRP installed in the boot partition still works.
Update
I know this limitation:
from https://twrp.me/site/update/2022/10/10/3.7.0-released.html:
This release is a major release for Android 12. Android 13 development has now started. Please see the list below for details.

but TWRP 3.7.x works with an installed original Android 13 from ASUS and also with an installed Android 13 based OmniROM version . So it should also at least boot the phone if the LineageOS 20 is installed.
