Question Bloatware in ZenUI 9 - ASUS ZenFone 8

Is there any bloatware in ZenUI9 (e.g Facebook, Instagram, Netflix)?
If that's the case, can they be removed completely without using ADB?
Also, what are the proprietary apps provided by Asus?

Most of the obvious bloatware can be uninstalled the same way as you would with regular apps. There are about 4-5 apps. From memory these apps were installed by default: Facebook, FB Messenger, Instagram, Netflix. Also note that it comes pre-installed with 3 facebook services, that need to be disabled either via ADB or the system settings, so harder to disable.
The preinstalled oem apps are the file manager, camera, gallery, calculator, phone dialer, clock, contacts (Maybe I forgot one or two). It also comes with less usual apps like the system optimiser that lets you tweak some settings to improve performance/battery life. The rest of the default apps are from Google.

Nice thread would be nice to narrow down what system apps are needed an what they do. I like Google maps an it's other apps but would like to know what others do an if I really need them
Sent from my GT-S5830i using xda app-developers app
SNS and SNSAccount are used to sync/backup/restore/fetch your contacts (and calendar) from your SNS accounts (e.g. google).
Do not freeze them if some of your contacts are saved to your google account, or if you use another SNS app (facebook, twitter, google, samsung, viber, whatsapp, etc)). The same goes for Google Contacts Sync and Google Calendar Sync.
Also, I wouldn't freeze DRM. Judging by its name, it's used to authorize applications that use DRM.
Lastly, this doesn't belong here. It's not even Ace related.

Thanks.
I guess you are right you can put this everywhere. :S But yea I do this on my ace phone that is why it is here I mean why not many people only search their phone and don't look at general things.

Background services to disable

Thinking we can create a thread that documents all the background services that can be safely disabled. I used a similar thread to disable a boat load of services on my Telus Mobility GS2, and the battery life increase was incredible. I used Titanium Backup Root.
Well I don't know about the background services, but I use LBE to disable unused apps and apps from auto starting.
I just disable unused stock apps like Browser, Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Email, Talk, DRM, and autosyncing, which is toggle through the power widget.

Debloating, what to remove and what to replace them with

I would like to remove as much unrequired google apps as possible before I start to use the phone.
I have installed TWRP and now Termux.
I was wondering if anyone could help with which are the best/safest apps to remove and any suggestions for a preferred (possibly FOSS) replacement.
So far I have removed
Android System Webview
Chrome
Gboard
Facebook App Manager
Google Play Music
YouTube
Google Play Movies
And replaced some of them with Bromite System Webview, Bromite, AnySoftKeyboard, Newpipe.
I am thinking of removing, but not sure if all safe, or what to replace them with:
Gmail
Google Contacts
Google Sync Contacts
Calculator
Calendar
Clock
Google Text To Speech
Lens
Maps
Are there any I shouldn't remove, are there more that I should, are any of the moto apps okay to remove?
And any suggestions for what to replace them with?
I hadn't heard of fossdroid.com or fsfe.org when I posted here, and reading over some other post on other forums I debloated quite a lot and replaced them with many of the alternatives on f-droid and fossdroid.
How is the debloating going?

Apps that are safe to debloat from Chinese ROM

What are the apps that are safe to remove in the Chinese ROM?
Has anyone removed Mi contacts and Calendar apps for Google ones? Any side effects?
Removing Calendar is fine. I dont know about contacts. Few other apps like Mi Ai, wallet, Unionpay can also be removed if you dont need them.
You can remove, contacts calculator clock calendar and replace those with google equivalents. However tapping on the clock in the notification shade or the date won't open up those apps. Anything that can be changed as the default app like the browser, gallery, music player and video players, assistant, can also be debloated. Things you should never ever disable is the app store and the launcher as it will make the rom unusable.
Other things you can remove are. Feedback, Mi Wallet, Unionpay, all the translation apk's. yellowpages and a few more. Get the Xiaomi ADB Fastboot tools from https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/redmi-k20-pro-firmware-10-3-8-0-9-6-13-t3939647 and look at what you can disable. Those are all safe.

Question Google Services - My Experience

Hello Everyone. I bought the orange 512gb X70 Pro+ from TradingShenZhen, and overall I am satisfied (but not 100% happy) with the CN Rom phone (BTW if I have the chance to flash it with Funtouch Global OS, I would do (pay) it without hesitation!).
After I set it up for first time (english language, wifi connection, etc) I downloaded all google apps I think are necessary for me (drive, photos, play store, etc) and I logged in with my Google account in all of them, downloaded WhatsApp, banking apps, and others. Everything seemed to work well. Then I saw that the phone was not receiving some notificactions like WhatsApp automatically, so I found a Set Up "Guide" from a website that was in German (I google translated it) and follow the instructions to remove CN apps from the Phone, and after that the phone started to receive WhatsApp notifications even if the app is not open.
Not having the Hey Google feature, Android Auto, the Google search bar in the main screen, not having the ability to clone apps (android default feature). Or setting Google as default (phone, messages, gmail, calendar, calculator, chrome). Manually setting up permissions, notifications, removing CN apps, or changing settings in general... I still can live with it, taking in mind those should be done once per each factory reset only.
My only "problem" so far: going Back to Google (mainly Google Drive Backup), the phone is backing up WhatsApp chats, media files, contacts; BUT the phone is not backing up: Apps, SMS messages, and Device Settings. When I launch Google Drive app, and click on "back up now" it says "couldnĀ“t backup data. Try again later", I have tried the disable screen locks, logging out, loggin back in, force stop, clear cache, rebooting, uninstall and reinstall Google Drive, backup from Google One (it is stuck at "Starting first backup..."), and the problem persists. Fortunately for me, most important data is backing up, because in a worst case scenario (if my phone is completely dead) I could restore Google Backed up data and then download all the apps from Play Store, log in, and set the device settings manually.
I hope this information helps in someway and also if you know another step I could try for the Google Drive backup issue, or if there is a reliable app that can create backup for Apps, SMS, and device settings; I would really appreciate You to let me know.
Have a nice day!

You cannot have "G" futures (Hey Google feature, Android Auto, the Google search bar in the main screen..) as all these apps are not system apps. In Chinese model only Google Play Services are system app, all other apps are installed on request.

You can't have Hey Google, Android Auto and complete backup on the Chinese model. Everything else, including search bar, calendar, contacts, Google phone, Messages...goes, as you can see on attached pictures.
