Question I tried all the 10000 possible passwords! Can I sue the company because of this bug? - Realme C25 / C25s

Hello everyone
C25s asks me to enter the "lock screen password" every 72 hours, to make sure that I remember the password.
It was completely ok, until 2 days ago. Two days ago, the phone said that I am entering the wrong password! And as I didn't change the phone's password for months, I noticed that it is a bug.
But because I wanted to keep things simple, I tried and enter all 10000 combination of digits (4 digit password) in one or two days. And the thing is, none of them worked!
The thing that proves this is a bug from company, and not me, is that the phone allows me to enter the password, as many times as I want.
In a normal working phone, with this version of android (12), I think after entering the wrong password for 5 times, the phone will lock you out or will ask you to recover the password with your google account. (am I right?)
Now, I contacted the support and they just simply guided me to factory reset the phone! as simple as that. and they don't accept that this problem is from their side.
I care about the data in my phone, and as you see it is not my fault.
What should I do? Or better to say, what can I do?
Can I sue the company if they didn't accept to help me with this problem?
And one more thing.
I searched the internet and I saw this is not only me and they are some other people that posted their problem in Realme website and forums, but it seems Realme is removing this posts.
I'll share you the links about the same problem, some are available, and for some others you have to find cached version of those pages, because they are no longer available.

Thank you

It sounds like it got corrupted. Single event upset or memory cell failure maybe.
Reflash it.
On my devices I never set bios, backup drive or screen locks because you are the one most likely to become locked out.

If I'm right, setting at least one pin password is mandatory, and after that, it's your choice to use another type of security mechanisms like finger print or face unlock.
For this device, it needs pin to be set.
Anyways, thank you for the answer. But if you look at the two links I sent, it seems that this Realme incorrect password problem is becoming a trend! those two threads from realme forum are quite new and those happened recently like mine.
I think it should be a software bug. but the thing is, can realme help me with that? should I expect them to help me at this one?
And I should mention, I never rooted or did anything other than normal manufacturers updates.

I run Samsung N10+'s, on them none is it required unless you want to use certain security features which I don't. Passwords for bios or boot never served me well and have caused trouble. Have had 2 go corrupt on PC's.
If others are seeing this that may be better than a random problem. I'd do more Google searches not just for this model but others by that manufacturer as well. Sometimes even other manufacturers. If you can contact the manufacturer do so.

I found many other threads on the Realme website that many users are facing this problem. And it is obvious that it's because of a bug in their software.
please look at this threads:

please look at the previous post and see how many people are complaining.
As xda-developers forum is a large, and famous one, can I ask moderators to label this topic as an important topic? or move it to a place in the forum, so everyone can see it?
I mean Realme users must see this. This is happening not to one specific model, but many Realme models. everyone should notice, and at least Backup their data to minimize the damage that is happening to users.
How can I ask moderators?

How to brew up an android rom for htc hd7

Hello all! I jump from phone to phone when ever I can catch a broken one to fix for nearly free. I recently ran into an HTC HD 7 and am not really vibing to the windows mobile 7, and from what I read there is not currently a pre made rom available for installing android on this device. I am pretty technologically advanced and feel confident given the right direction on how to accomplish this I would be capable of creating one. I have read a lot of information but am some what lost mainly because of some of the lingo terminology, being that I haven't hacked/developed outside of the ios platform. I can program in just about any c based language. Any one got ne thing that can help me out here? If I build one how would I install it or go about uploading it to the device? Thanks in advance for any replies I do greatly appreciate all your time! I apologize about the noobness like I said ios is whats been available to me for the past few years, and now I want android like a kid wants candy!!!

Developers/programmers have been trying to figure out how to dual boot the HD7 (like the HD2) since it came out. The main problem seems to be how WP7 is compiled .NET and C#. WP7 securitys still aren't fully unlocked.
Take a look at the Project Haret thread, they seem to be making some progress at it and if you have the know how, maybe you can contribute.

Thanks for the heads up, appreciate the reply, btw where is the thanks button? sorry this is my second post here. I started to do some research into it. I believe the answer is in the coredll.dll file which may be stating the obvious. I think the way to go about accessing this or at least what I am going to try is an attempt to gain root access with my device tethered to my comp from terminal.

Your welcome! I've read through the whole Project Haret thread and there is alot of information, (some way to complicated for me) trial and error and it looks like as of recent there has been some good progress towards getting Haret to perform and (hopefully) run kernel mode and actually boot the kernel. You might be right, give it a shot or maybe put it on the thread and see what kind of feed back you get on it!
Is your device unlocked yet so that you can gain access to it and try it out?
Personally I would love to see the HD7 dual boot WP7 and Android. Don't get me wrong... I thoroughly enjoy WP7 and love my HD7it's very smooth, fast, stable and not once has it crashed on me. I believe that it would bring a longer life experience to the device and make it that much more versatile, especially since we're nearing the end of official support.
The thanks button should be there now, under the posts.

Ok so I realize I might sound like an idiot considering everything I said can be found within the haret documentation. I originally read something found on google with inaccurate information after you told me about the project, come to find out the information I read was in no way affiliated with the the actual project haha. Forgive my stupidy, I began to read and follow along the documaton for it at htc-linux.org, the only thing I am having issue with is obtaining haretconsole to explore the device. The link on the documentation I believe no longer exists, and I can't find a source anywhere! This is pretty good stuff though thanks for linking me up with it! Have you installed the development tools or haretconsole on a linux OS by chance? I was successful with the developement tools, just need to figure out this haretconsole problem. BTW which desktop OS do you prefer?
Sadly I can't tell if my device is unlocked yet haha. I work at a university doing LAN Administration currently and used my .edu e-mail to register as a developer. I then registered my device but don't see a single difference or maybe I just am doing something wrong. How do you suggest going about that(unlocking it that is, I don't care about it being official, just figured official would be easlier)? Also for the iPhone there is a desktop application which allows you to access the filesystem called iFunBox, is there anything similar for the wp7?
I would just love android lol, I like the HTC HD7 and have always been a fan of HTC products, It definately is pretty smooth and compared to my previous device a 3gs it's lightening fast! 3g isn't supported with the 3gs on t-mobile either. My biggest issue with wp7 is the fact it doesn't do anything I want to be done in a device, I use my mobile browser ALOT and I have never seen a browser period with this many bugs, I installed safari but it's not even the same lol! For the most part I strongly strongly dislike anything related to microsoft, but unfortunately I have to work with the windows platform quite often because of my job. There just such a dirty/shady/grimmy company period, I saw a commercial yesterday advertising bing where they claimed 2 out of three people choose bing over google in a blind study............how can they advertise that when they stole googles code! lol. Also it was a pretty dirty business move of microsoft to do what your talking about with the wp8. They claim there going to continue support on 7 but we both know they all say that and do put the effort towards the legacy system for a short period of time before cutting it. Screwing Nokia out of major growth potential within the U.S. while going back on the promise made to them regarding free upgrades to 8 for 7 devices. I think they feel like there invincible just because they currently run the desktop OS market share. I think their will likely be a major change in the preferred OS within the next 10 years, just because I work in an 30,000 user enterprise that refuses to upgrade their liscensing with microsoft because of windows 8's inability to meet our needs.
Sorry if this message way to long haha

Sorry its taken me so long to get back with you... Been crazy busy!
Unfortunetly I only have Windows OS, PC and Laptop. Funny enough though, I just got my laptop back from the shop a couple weeks ago and I had to have the harddrive replaced. Last week my PC got the BSOD (blue screen of death) and I had to completly wipe and restore it.
My next computer will be a Linux OS forsure. I wish I had one currently to install Haret and play around with it!
The student registration is limited and you can only sideload a max of 3 unasigned apps. You would be better off to fully unlock your device and install a custom rom, this will give you more options to sideload as many unasighned apps as you want in the form of XAP's through IE. Access to the registry/file system and to apply hack and tweaks. you can then familurize yourself with the OS and file system.
I can help walk you through the unlock process, it's pretty easy.
Go to settings, about, more info. post back all the information from that screen. Enter your device into bootloader mode - Power device off, hold down the volume down button and power the device back on, while continuing to hold down the volume down button, this will bring you into BL mode a tri-colored screen. Post back the information from that screen also.We can go from there. The proccess to unlock it basicially is to downgrade the SPL to 3.xxx or lower to install RSPL/HSPL wich will allow flashing of a custom rom.
My IE works excellent. It might be due to what build version that your device is running on. Either way once we get it unlocked there's custom roms running on Tango 8779 build with nice features and the device runs buttery smooth. there's also more mobile browsers available to install once it's unlocked, Opera Mobile,UC browser and a bunch more. There's all kinds of XAP's you can install to cusromize the device and enhance the user experience.
Totaly agree with you on the Android development for WP7 and the above statement regarding MS
Check out this link for Haret -

PLEASE HELP ME! my phone is "rooted" with 3 third-party apps my BF installed!
I noticed that my nexus 6 was acting funny, and since my boyfriend purchased this phone for me- he set the entire thing up. The day it arrived, he plugged my phone into his laptop and started typing away at what looked like a black screen and a boxy white font with a bunch of rom codes etc(at this point, i was totally clueless and oblivious to what he was doing)...
Then, he would sporadically bring up specific texts that i had sent, and at times would randomly pinpoint specific addresses and times and asked me about them(mind you, they were my friends homes) which left me to wonder "how the hell did he even know about that text or specific location unless my phone is hacked??"
so, i took my phone to a specialist who confirmed that my phone was rooted with a custom ROM along with 3 third-party apps "kernel adiutor", "pure nexus", and "xda labs".
Once i called tech support for my phone, they said they couldn't help me because they're third party apps that are not legal to use in the first place.
long story short, his mom confirmed recently that he in fact has my phone hacked. can somebody please give me insight on the apps he installed and the purpose they serve?? what kind of access/capabilities does he have now that my phone is rooted even if i restore my phone???
Kernel Auditor Xda labs and pure nexus are not phone hacking apps Xda lab is app by xda community and Kernel Auditor is for tweaking the kernel and i think Pure Nexus is a Custom Rom for the Nexus
If you want to get rid of this you can ask service centre to flash Stock Rom of Nexus phone
Sent from my SM-A9000 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Download a factory image from here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Follow the instructions on the webpage. Doing this will wipe your phone and put it back to 100% stock.

You have a very *very* serious problem.
As khanboyz007 says, the apps you mention are entirely pukka, totally normal, nothing suspicious.
But...
If you can't trust your boyfriend so much that you have to post for help from anonymous strangers, then your problem is far deeper than your Nexus 6. From the technical side of your description, he's done nothing at all wrong, but from reading between the lines you don't trust him, and *that's* a dealbreaker.
Why are you asking us instead of him? Give him a chance to explain. Maybe there's nothing more sinister than you (clearly without any technical knowledge... sorry...) don't have your phone password-protected and he's just looked at your texts - in itself a breach of trust, but still not justifying posting in a public forum to strangers.

I wouldnt say that at all. If he can tell where she has been and what text she is sending then he installed one of the many monitor apps onto her phone which is illegal.
My advise would be to completely wipe your device. Flash a stock rom and dont let him touch your device.
As for your personal life no one can or has any right to say anything about that. Do what you think is best.
If he knows the locations you've been at its possible he has your google+ share location set where it's shared with him. Or possibly he had set up an email for you on it and is signing into it to track your location. As far as the apps you mentioned they are %100 percent legal, most carrier don't know anything about rooting or custom Roms and will not give you adequate advice. But as they said, you can just flash the stock image, make your own Gmail to sign in or make sure to change your Gmail password. After you do make sure that that you put a password on your device that he doesn't know.
"then he installed one of the many monitor apps onto her phone"
Isn't that what I said...? No trust. This isn't in any way a technical question - it's about their relationship.
And since I've seen your many posts here over the years I know you've got a fair amount of life experience, in which case I can assume that you know of Occam's Razor - the simplest explanation is likely to be the correct one, and the simplest explanation here is not that he's installed a monitoring app but is simply looking at the phone. I stand by my comments.
"no one can or has any right to say anything about that"
Yes, I agree, it would be none of my business - *if* she hadn't asked for my advice (as well as yours).
If she has so little trust in her partner, and has asked for advice (technical or otherwise), then the answer has to be "Look very carefully at your relationship".
(P.S. To avoid the inevitable "sexist" comments, yes, I've assumed it's a female poster, but I'm aware that there are alternatives).
To be honest I think it might be a moot point as he is most likely part of this forum and has seen this post.
Then he's got the message...
Or this is just a prank. Like I'm getting private messages from people who haven't even posted yet to fix their phones.

Yes, that same thought had occurred to me. I give the benefit of the doubt unless there's a clear sign that it's a joke, and this one does come close to the edge...
A lot of effort for a not-funny joke though. It would be good if the OP provides some feedback - I do get very fed up with people asking for advice, which is given maybe by half a dozen people who have taken the time and trouble to provide it, only for the OP to vanish into the ether without so much as a "thank you" button press.
Step one, flash the phone back to stock using the links provided eariler posts.
Step two, dump the loser - he is too controlling, and this will never change...
Now that the personal advice has been given, let's bring this thread back to troubleshooting device issues, not relationship issues . Thanks for your cooperation.

Your friend has set up your phone the same way as he should do for himself.
There nothing wrong with rooting and the apps you mentioned.
My idea is that ask him very friendly to flash the latest official stock Rom.
Tell him that you prefer the official rom of Google.
Because you want official support when there is something wrong. And you don't need root acces because you only use 'normal' apps.
As everything there are disadvantages.
A rooted phone allows you to install layers. That makes it possible to choose dark themes. And that's important when you need a better battery life.
I Bet he's using Cerberus. Go into your settings>apps, select to include system apps. You'll be looking for a app name: system framework. If you see this He is tracking you using Ceberus, . This app/service is pretty awesome. I was able to track my phone down, see the texts sent, turn the mic on and listen to where my phone was at. .
Like everyone said flash a new rom. clean slate. Then dump dude, there should be no need for that crap.
Here's the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lsdroid.cerberus&hl=en

to me, a "specialist", it sounds like he did you a favor, by rooting your device, and adding apps that you will need to control your own phone. your "own" i say because otherwise you are just using someone elses device, that you happened to pay for with your money. so, instead of posting a pissy thread, id do a little more research on how to control your own phone, and then tell him thank you.
oh, btw, just because the apps arent from the play store, it does not make them illegal to use, at all. you can use whatever app you want, from wherever you want, LEGALLY.
I'm coming round to istperson's point of view - this thread is beginning to look more and more like an elaborate pointless hoax, and not a very funny one.
There are far too many of these threads where people ask a question and then disappear without the courtesy of a sign-off or even a "thank you". Very discouraging, and makes me less keen on spending my time here trying to help timewasting ingrates...
I'm gonna close this thread for now. If the OP has anything else to add they can contact me again to reopen it.
Not all apps are legal. It really depends on where you are living. As an example. Things like keyloggers, call recorders (depending on local laws) screen recorders and things of this nature are completely legal in some countries like China, while being completely illegal in other places in the world.
Also installing tracking software of any kind on someone's device is also illegal.
We have to remember that many people search for help on something, reg to the forum to get the answer and dont come back until they have another issue. This is becoming far more common as of late.

Xiaomi, you suck at email (but you have built a very nice phone)

So, got my Mi Mix 2 yesterday, and because I'm gonna unlock & liberate it with LOS (MIUI = eww imho), I created an account over at account.global.xiaomi.com.
But no confirmation mail arrived.
So I went and checked the logs of my mail server, and, the mail from Xiaomi got rejected, because of a misconfigured helo greeting. (my mail server doesn't like non-resolvable helo greetings - a best practice to combat spam)
But because my mail server is also a polite mail server, it gives a temporary error (450) in that case, which a. makes the sending server try again and b. gives me a chance to whitelist false positives.
Alas, that mail system hasn't tried again since, and it's now 12 hrs later.
So, first impression of XaaS (Xiaomi as a service): Meh!
End of rant, I feel better now.
Welcome to the club. The initial xiaomi setup is always a pain... Which is why moving to AOSP ROMs is always my first step on these as well.
Best of luck.
Well, to be fair, I finally discovered the Resend link on the account creation page, hidden in plain sight.
And in the meantime I was able to create an account, figure out the necessary steps to get to the actual unlock process (learn some chinese, firewall piercing, I'll spare you the gory details), and am now waiting for 72 hours to pass.
But yeah, so far, exact opposite of unlocking other devices.

Honestly, too dramatic lol.
Am a Chinese here. Do you really need to learn some Chinese to unlock the device? Sorry but that somehow is quite funny to me.
Just tried. Haha, it's true that it keeps jumping to the Chinese version page, though all you need is to click the most obvious button. Hmmm, I can't believe XiaoMi still struggle with this given that it has quite a few overseas markets already. Maybe should post a feedback to them.
Yeah, parts of the accout website system have room for improvement - I really needed Google Translate, because nothing was obvious to me, it all looked the same, and I did not find a way to switch to english.
Ultimately, the search function saved my life.
Just going to Developer Options - Mi Unlock Status on the phone would have saved me some hassle (has instructions, even in german), but the LOS installation instructions don't mention that, I only found out later.
Oh well, live and learn. I managed in the end. Makes the whole thing even more satisfying I guess.

root guide for sm-n960u

what guide should i follow for this phone to root it? android v10
You must be new here. I believe you have to be on Android 8 to be rooted and plus, it's pointless from what I read, anyways. For one, your phone will never fully charge and 2, I'd already inquired about it, the rooting process ends up not being dependable and your phone will no longer be a daily driver. So, the thought of it is a no for me.
I doubt there's even a way to go back to Android 8 and any necessary security patch levels.

You don't have to be on oreo right now for it to work, you just need a combo firmware that uses the same bootloader revision as what you're currently on. You can currently get an oreo combo firmware up to revision 4. Basically it's a "modded" oreo firmware that uses the same bootloader version as newer firmwares.
Please change title or close this thread. Got me excited for nothing
Why close ? Its informative.
Now i know i need to sell my phone caz it cannot be rooted.
How ever, S8+ on 9.0 had root but some devices such as mine were turning into brick attempting to root them due to bootloader version conflict which was not identified by root method or person who wrote the method.
Bricked several S8+ phones attempting to root. Was too afraid to try my last one.
Hell, am not made of money buying phones every time root turns it into a brick where even EDL'ing wont fix it.
What about this ?

I dont like to just follow steps on some dodgy website, i'd rather follow steps here on forum since people can validate it.
Too scared to try, too little information about side effects.

Yeah, don't trust random websites. They mostly contain generic procedures that are either vastly outdated or downright wrong.
I have a rooted N960U, and this is what it takes to get there:
To actually be able to root an N960U, you have to be on a software version with an Android security patch level of February 1, 2021 or older (if you look at the baseband version under software information in the About phone section under Settings, the 5th digit from the right should be a 7 or lower number). Anything newer than that is unrootable as far as I know. And for the rooting procedure, you have to unlock the bootloader first which currently requires a paid service as mentioned in the following post:

Finlay someone giving useful info.
I looked at the sampwn website for unlocking service and i didnt like it.
It threw some kind of subscribe message at me covering entire page so i couldn't even see what the website is all about.
Then it constantly showing "someone purchased this or that" and opens a chat i dont want to see.
Those are 3 red flags for a fishy website so i have to pass.
I did how ever manage to look at the purchase process page and it was also full of red flags.
It was asking too much personal information.
It did not say what you are buying, how much you going to pay for it or what payment method is accepted.
Entire website has a theme of a scammer website, or at the very least it was built using those themes and thus it acts just like it.
Telegram, discord username required ? What if i dont have one ?
Do you want my password to my bank as well ?
Card number with expiration date and full name address and 3 security digits to pay ?
Are you F'ing serious ?
I dont know a single website that sell you stolen serial keys or cracked software that ask you this much information and claim "its required"
Besides, if there is a paid way, there must be a free way.
Who is this guy, owner of some sort of unlocking device ?
Whats the point of locking it if some lone wolf can unlock it anyway ?
Very sketchy.

Whatever method is being used to unlock the bootloader on these models has not been made public, so that's why there are only paid ways.
I can't speak for SamPWND as I used the first link with UNSAMLOCK, and the guy running it was quite helpful and did things quickly. But you do need to contact him through Telegram.
This is certainly not for everyone, so you really have to be sure you want it as it's a one-time, one device only thing. Otherwise, you'll have to look at the Exynos models or the international Snapdragon N9600 model for freely available bootloader unlocking and rooting methods.
SamPWND is a group on telegram i joined.
But i cant contact anyone there. All i get is what the owner posts.
How am i suppose to contact the owner if i want to unlock my bootloader ?
Jeezes ! Why they make things more complicated then they need to ?
In any case, the owner of that channel is some guy named Mohammad Afaneh
Are you F'ing kidding me ?
I am not sending my phone to some guy named Mohammad. Hell no !
He either hack it or put ship me a bomb back that will explode when i open it.

That's pretty strange for a Telegram group. Check the UNSAMLOCK one then as that's the one I used and had no problems with.
But remember that only older software versions are eligible. If yours is later than February 2021, then you won't be able to do anything.

Afaneh has a good rep on XDA, for all I've seen. But I read you about Telegram, kinda irritrates me how it's taken away from the much more available xda forums. I could join, but like I was saying elsewhere just last night, I'm already way too "joined" as it is.
