Question Annoying Music - Redmi Note 11 (spes/spesn)

Every few minutes it plays this annoying "Jingle", how do I stop it please?

What do you mean?

That'll be your notifications by the sounds of things.... I get this too.....
I get more notifications on this phone than any of the others I have ever owned. Within a few hours my notification drawer will be rammed..... Where as previous phones/Android will only have a small selection.
I believe you can very finely tweak what you want, what you dont want, that should reduce the jingles/chimes.

[Q] Strange notification sound from G+

I use Google+ and G+ messenger a lot. I have a very active chat and do not want a notification sound every time someone writes something in the chat. I have set every notification possible to "Silent" in Google+ and Messenger but I still get a notification sound every time someone writes something. A friend tested this out on his phone and his does not do this. I have a feeling it is a sound from Sense UI that I can not find anywhere. I can not even find the same notification sound being used for anything in the sounds menu. Can anyone test this for me or have the same issue?

I have tried that. I have looked at every setting there is in the phone and no matter what this same noise always happens every time I get a notification. I can not even find a setting that uses that same chime anywhere.

I just got my HTC One last week. After some tweaking, I realized that I am running into the same problem. Notification under both G+ and Messenger setting are set to "Silent" with vibrate off. Whenever I get a notification from G+ I also hear the chime sound even though it's set to "Silent", this is actually the default notification sound from stock android (I just switched from a Nexus S). I've tried everything I can but nothing works. Have you fixed the problem somehow? If yes, please let me know how. Thank you.

Nope! It is really weird and is seems like eventually it finally solves itself. The new G+ Hangouts app seems to work better and give me the correct notifications.

What the heck Is this?

This star appeared in my status bar overnight. I have not installed any new apps. Anyone else ever seen this?

Pretty sure you have volume set on priority only
After some searching around, found it.
It's a lollipop feature called "interruptions" which allows you to decide what app notifications can interrupt you. I had apparently set it to custom. I set the default back and the star disappeared.
By the way, when I say I haven't installed any apps, or I'm confident that it's not my apps, it's not an app.
That is the priority notifications only icon. See here. Check which one you have selected.

I still don't quite understand the feature, but at least the notification is gone

It's like an alarm feature. Only notifications from the people you've prioritised will show.

How it works......
You set days and times that you don't want something to happen, phone calls, texts, notifications. Example.... I have mine set for 7 days, 930p-630a, to only allow starred contacts to call or message me. If someone not starred messages or calls me, my phone will not ring, allowing me to watch movies, sleep, whatever, uninterrupted.

Do this;
Star the contact for your wife, parents, etc., and NOT your boss. Set downtime for nights and weekends. Now your work can't bother you at night or on weekend.

Notifications make no sound, even when selecting one in the settings menu.

I have been an android user for a long time, but this one is stumping me as there is no process or specific error. I have searched and haven't found anyone with a similar problem. Just got a Nexus 6 today and it will not make any notification sounds. The notification volume is all the way up and phone calls have a ringtone that works. What is really throwing me off is that when I am in the general settings or the settings for any other app, clicking on a notification sound has no response. I will be in settings and overlooking the list of potential default notification sounds and no matter which one I click there is no noise, as where with the ringtones they all will play me the sample.
If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it, I hate that something this simple has stumped me somehow.
Thank you.
this happens with my alarm sound in the settings. it just won't play it, even though its a google sound. but, when its needed, like when my alarm goes off, it sounds. and that's what is really important. so I ignore the fact that it doesn't play in settings anymore (it used to though).

If that were the case I could deal with it but it won't even make a sound when its supposed to.

try using an app to set a notification sound, maybe that will work.
This happened to me running Pure Nexus, reboot fixed the issue. Still not sure why it didn't work in the first place

Vibration as input/event

Hi guys! Is there a way to make the vibration of the phone (no UI changes or text notification, just vibration) an event/input? Thanks :cyclops:
Uhh....that sounds weird. Can you give a bit more information. What specific thing is causing your phone to vibrate in the first place that you want Tasker to respond to?

Pokemon go app When a pokemon appear, the phone vibrate. I would like to use it as an event to make my smartwatch notify it to me.

Ahah I know I know it may sounds stupid, but it's just a way of playing it without staying watching the screen all the time while walking. I thought to use tasker to do that but I can't find a way to use that vibration as an input, there're no other notifications.

Ahh.....OK. If that is the case, I dunno.... There is probably a real hacky way to do it with shell script and root or something....but nothing straight forward
Does it only vibrate, or is there a notification?

Hmm... I'm not sure if this would work, but have you tried notification listener from play store? It's a tasker plug in. It might be enough that the vibration came from the game to trigger...
you can try this app :

Ok, it worked Sometimes the app notify with no real reason but it's a good start, thanks again

Is there a way to suspend notifications ?

while playing games, watching videos or YouTube, just while I'm using those apps ?
or secondly a way to turn them all off until I want them again ?
android 11 not rooted
Yes go into settings-apps, look for notifications in the apps you want to silence select accordingly
no I'm looking for something that's the other way around for example I don't want to see any notifications when I'm in mxplayer but when I'm not it's OK.
it's something that gaming mode does on some phones. it would be tedious to silence all the apps I think might interrupt the screen one by one each time I play a game and have to undo it when I'm finished.
I take it that this doesn't exist, seems an oversight if so.
actually just turning off the heads up aspect would do, notifications are surprisingly big on this phone, especially in landscape.
Put in Do Not Disturb or set the Samsung game management apk to do so.

duh, didn't think of do not disturb thanks. I looked at the gaming launcher before, I don't like having to sign up to use a ''feature''
