Magisk on Poco X3 Pro - Magisk

So, I installed magisk via fastboot, and it all seems fine, but I can't seem to find any modules on the module section? There's only the install from storage option... Did I do something wrong?

No you've done nothing wrong. However, you gotta install modules which you liked to have or you needed on your phone by yourself. For instance, I have a Poco X3 Pro too and I have installed some performance booster and a graphics driver update using magisk.
You can find useful modules by simply googling them.

WiFi Problem

Hi everyone.
Yesterday WiFi stopped working on my Mi Mix 18K. When I try to turn WiFi on the switch immediately goes off again. It was working fine and the connection started to slow down. I turned WiFi off to use 4G for a while, thinking it was a problem with the AP or the ISP. A few minutes later I wasn't able to turn WiFi on again.
The MAC Address shown in the config screen is 02:00:00:00:00:00 and any change I try to make on the config is discarded as soon as I close de WiFi config screen.
It looks like the system were not able to communicate with the WiFi module. I tried a factory reset and flashed the original chinese rom (developer and stable) downloaded from miui site using XiaomiFlash tool (in fastboot mode).
Everything goes perfect except WiFi still doesn't want to tunr on. Maybe my wifi module just broke. Mobile data works fine too.
Any advice before my I start lying on the floor, crying in sorrow?
Thanks to everybody.
Same problem and no slolution..

Flashing a custom ROM shouldn't cause anything like that, unless you have incompatible firmware. I mean like which ROM did you flash, what are you on now?

I know but this problem is not new.. other phones have that issue as well and there have been fixes.Nobody can help with MI MIX thou... I can flash any new Rom by Epic Team with no problems but this is not helping with a lack of working MAC address... MAC Address: 02:00:00:00:00:00
No Bluetooth and wifi make this phone a half ass device.
My bet I did not save EFS file during the first flash with a new Rom.

I know i made a mistake of erasing everything including ESF file with TWRP before installing a new rom
I did not try flashing the original Chinese rom with miflash.. but must try this eventually.
Of course, re locking bootloader will cause new problems since it was not mine when it was unlocked.

Why do i have to sell it ? Cant, i reopen bootloader after it works? What if it does not work and i will end up with an unusable phone.
Bottom line.. i need to find a way to reload a mac adress into a phone with a right wlan.bin file... maybe somebody can send me in priv such so i can see what is the difference please between mine and working one.

It would be just as usable as it is now, sure I read warnings about using a different efs file, like total brick. If it was that easy I would send you mine, other phones have fixed by flashing the Chinese ROMs, just don't know with the mix. Chinese ROM us very usable if you use English or Chinese language.
I do use the English language so there is no problem .. and since there is no other solution I can think of I will do that... reflash Chinese Rom with MiFlash : )
Thank You in advance i hope it works

Hi James, nothing is easy with Mi Mix , MiFlash is not recognizing my phone so before I will install Chinese rom must solve this problem first... I do have ADB drivers, windows 10 signing drivers off... still Mi Flash is blind Which version would be the best? First Chinese stable Rom ? Returning phone to the original state would be the best but isn't Wlan Mac Address build into a hardware of the device? So how changing Roms helps this issue Just thinking out loud.

Yes I did.. I need this phone for couple of days so in the meantime I will read and educate myself first.. I am reading that lineage rom has fixed similar issues..
I couldn't believe how many people have that same issue without a good write-up or fixes available..
I looks difficult that's why. Even XDA is too short for this one.

When I tried everytime I press any button the game reatart, anyone tried and make it work smoothly on Pocophone?

Can you tell us how you managed to get your ps4 controller to work with poco f1? As far as I know, miui don't include the files needed for the PS3/PS4 controller to work. I have Dualshock 3 controller and the Bluetooth in poco f1 doesn't even recognize that. My mobile is not rooted. But, I can root it if my Bluetooth controller can work on my poco f1.

Pocophone can detect the ds4 as wireless controller, however during gameplay (RoS), it lag and pressing X crashes the game. It walk, crouch, use bandage, use throwables, can switch gun and reload, but cant shoot. Is there any way we can play smoothly without rooting? Or any update on MiUI 10 for compatibility?

TWRP for poco is not official that's why you did not find the link, anyway is here on xda forum in rom section.
First unlock bootloader, there is a guide on guide section too, install twrp, later install magisk.
Root is the power of obtain access to modify any file in the system, for that you need an app that control the access to others apps, that's magisk does.
all the guide to get root is in that post, so just read about it and try it on your phone.

Update: Pocophone now received uodate upto Android Pie, and it seems the DS4 is not crashing but have latency issue.
The latency issue have solutions on the net (using Bluetooth Audio Connect) however i still cant figure it out have no luck on using Ds4 with smooth latency.
Hi
how did you manage to get the DS4 working with the Poco F1? With all the PIE ROMs I tested, it can be paired in bluetooth, but buttons have no effects at all. Same with usb cable. All with or without 1controller module in Magisk.
Sixaxis app only reports error messages.
On my other phones, the controller can be use to navigate the UI. Is it the same with your F1 guys?
Thanks
Hi update on using DS4 for Pocopho e F1, it seems the first version of ds4 are not responding as good on v2.
The DS4v2 have a very stable connection and almost no latenct drop, I've been using the ds4v2 since Dec24 and all is working well.
I may conclude that the bluetooth version of ds4v2 are more compatible on Pocophone than ds4v1.
As of now i am currtently using Pocophone f1 Android Pie up to latest version and RoS with latest update with Ds4v2.
Cheers guys

Hi seb, i just paired it normally with Share + PS button, buttons are working fine with "O" as back and "x" as select, i can also see the cursor with box while using analog.
I am using Pocophone F1 Global Rom with latest Pie update: MIUI Global 10.1 stable
Thanks all for your answers. I assume it is an issue with the custom ROMs then...
I will install the latest official MUI with Magisk and will report here if it works.
Cheers guys
Edit: I confirm the Dualshock 4 controller is working out of the box on MUI official ROM, the issue is present with all Custom ROMs based on vendor firmware.
Hi All
I finally got the DS4 working with the fantastic remapping Tincore app on the Poco F1, using those steps (root needed of course):
- Install the Sony Framework in Magisk
- Install 1controller module in Magisk
- Install Tincore from Playstore, subscribe to the Beta version and wait 10 minutes
- Connect the DS4 through bluetooth
- Now if you launch TineCore, it won't detect any device....
the trick is to open LuckyPatcher, and to launch Tincore from it. Weird but then it detect the Dualshock controller. Note that it works only via Bluetooth and not USB.
You can remove the lag by installing Bluetooth Auto Connect. In advanced setting tab Connect now, and set 5 as a value in Continuous Connect.
Any solution or news reg. DS3 + Sixaxis via BT?

Touchscreen problem after flash

Hi everyone,
I was trying to update latest Pixelexperience and AOSPExtended ROMs (I switch between these two from time to time), and after the first boot my touchscreen started to act weird: if I tap anywhere the tap is either unrecognised or recognised somewhere else, out of position.
This applies both to recovery (using 3.2.3 treble mod) and system, but only after flashing the ROM.
Other recoveries and systems work.
Looks like some Mi A1 (Tissot) devices also had this problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's important that you first deactivate Google Cloud Messaging and *then* Cloud Registration. If you try to do it the other way around the Cloud Messaging switch doesn't work.

Tried this sign-in with P40 Pro with previously (july) installed gms, and it does not work: account sign-in and sign-in verification works, but right after that comes the connection error message.
Also tried this sign-in with Galaxy A40 and it works.
This seems to be the same google sign-in issue as with all new Huawei/Honor devices since this mid-september.

I can now confirm that there is a problem with having GMS and Micro G Vanced at the same time if you already have GMS setup.
I downgraded my phone a few days ago to grab GMS and cannot sign in, even tho Micro G Vanced has added a special login option for Huawei Devices.
You can actually still be logged in to GMS and Vanced at the same time. I won't upload a guide to this, but I will post a screenshot of a comment below my video
that explains you how to do that. full credit goes to Vlad Zahiu.
2 days ago I made my P40 pro log in to Vanced; GMS already installed ... !!!
Download and install MicroG first, then Vanced. Without opening any of the applications, uncheck Google cloud messaging, then Google device registration.
After that you log in to Vanced, preferably by choosing the Huawei button ... if it doesn't work (it boots continuously at "wait a second") or this option doesn't appear yet (login on Huawei phone), try several times.
(Thanks to badmania98 for that).
Well, I've been trying this on my Huawei Mediapsd 10.4, with absolutely no success. I don't receive any error, it's just a black loading screen.

Question Google Contacts won't sync (and other issues)

Hello all,
To begin with - yes, I'm an idiot. I'm in the UK and my week-old Mi 11 Ultra is on the CN ROM. Had multiple Chinese phones with Google Play loaded and never had a problem, but the Mi 11 Ultra just won't sync my contacts. I've found advice on here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...o-sync-google-contacts-in-miui-12-cn.4276659/) but it seems to be a couple of months out-of-date as I don't have those apps and can't download them. The Contacts app (the Google one) says there are no contacts in my account (I do) and in the Accounts & Sync area in Settings my 'People details' apparently synced two days ago - but they absolutely haven't.
I'm also having plenty of problems with notifications which is really getting on my nerves.
From reading this forum I suspect the answer you're all going to give me is to flash to the Global ROM, but I've never flashed a phone so I'm pretty nervous about doing that.... Is there possible another workaround?
Thanks all (for both help and tolerance of an idiot).
(another idiot) I was also on the CN ROM with Google services installed and couldn't get any Google related back-up to work in general. Photos app was not uploading anything, phone wouldn't back-up. I was expecting a few quirks and was ready to work around these issues, but the notifications were the real killer. Seems like most apps get killed in the background and will not sync, even with all battery saver settings removed, all permissions activated, and apps locked permanently in the task manager. In particular from my experience Gmail and WhatsApp were problematic. Even WhatsApp calls would not come through if I did not have the app open.
As you suspected your best options are probably either to go with an official global ROM or go with the (unofficial) Xiaomi.eu ROM. Personally I went with the latter because it promises a fully functional phone without major drawbacks, but opinions are quite mixed on it - there are several discussions in other threads sharing different experiences and pros/cons. I've had one or two minor visual bugs but nothing major. I didn't try the official global ROM yet, but it will most likely be the most stable and best performing option - just expect some extra hoops to enable banking/security/ID apps.
If you find any workaround to get these things working on the CN ROM I would love to hear them, everything was super smooth and I was happy to stick to it if only notifications were reliable.
Just simply flash global rom, fixed all problem in CN
Don't know how people (outside CN) can live with CN rom
The problem is when you've never done it before! I'm worried about ending up with a £700 brick. I've seen a guide but I am completely new to doing this so it's pretty scary.
Thanks Braptrus - it's nice to hear from someone else who isn't exactly an expert on all this. Don't suppose you could point me towards the guide you followed to flash the ROM, could you? From the few things I've read I think I'll go for Global over EU for now as it seems an easier/safer starting point.
I followed the instructions on the Xiaomi.eu forum and a couple of YouTube videos from "topfone4u" (he has demos for .eu and global ROMs). I think if you follow one of the videos and go step by step and really follow carefully it's quite straightforward, but on the other hand it's very possible to brick your phone if you make a mistake so need be careful and make sure you understand what you are doing. Otherwise if you are not confident I'm not sure if you can find a local phone shop who can do it for you?

Connect phone to pc, if just need to copy file, change the MTP mode on phone, default is just charging (no storage detected)
I've done that. The laptop can see it but Mi PC Suite just tells me to connect by USB. I can explore the phone in Explorer but Mi PC Suite doesn't see it at all. It knows something is going on - when I change to File Transfer the 'Connect your device via USB' message pops up in Mi PC Suite.

Trying to work backwards. I couldn't get Mi Unlock to see my phone and read that ADB drivers might need updating and that Mi PC Suite was the way to get that done. The newest version wouldn't work, but an old one did and eventually I got them updated. With some more fiddling, I've now managed to request to unlock!
So now I will be able to flash the ROM a few hours before I go on holiday next week, which I suspect will be a terrible idea.

https://mipcsuite.com/ - the newest version still won't recognise it, but v3.0 did. I couldn't get the account screen to go away, but it did updates in the background - it was all in Chinese but I saw 'ADB' in that a couple of times. I did that a few times and eventually Mi Unlock recognised the phone.

Thanks for the advice all - I managed to get it done a couple of weeks ago. The 168 hours bootloader unlocking failed several times and things went slightly differently to the instructions but I got there eventually. The topfone4u videos as suggested by @Braptrus were brilliant.
And yes, it was pretty easy in the end!
