Confirmed, I have it installed and it works on Huawei Mate 50 local version. Just keep calm and follow each step correctly
During the installation process, you may not be able to run Google Play, but you just need to clear the data and run Google Paly to try again.
*** Update : Running Gmail has an error that the application needs google services. After 6 hours, the Google applications are not running because of the error: Google does not support this device.

Same problem i will reconvert it to global version in order to have vowifi back and use gspace......i losse to time to make it works

gMS not working anymore

I use Mate 50 Chinese version
I have consulted some ways on Youtube and followed, everything is fine, push notification is fine. There are still some errors:
- Messeger is dismissed for calling, texting is good push notification
- To use Google Maps, you must close multitasking first. Doing so, the location will work
I don't use Google maps very often, so the only problem left is receiving Messenger calls

-With push notification I give full permission to the app you want push notification like Messenger, Gmail....
-Go to the Launch manager and select Manager manually then tick all the application items for which you want push notifications
-Battery setting : More battery setting >>> Stay connected while asleep

With Methods in this topic it worked perfectly until google protected. I compared 2 directories of 2 methods and found the method in this thread has more than a few apk files :
- GMS Policy sidecar aps 2052073.apk
- Shared Library.apk
Could it be the problem with push notifications?

How to Install and Enable GMS on Chinese Model BBB100-4

Original Link: http://www.berrylink.cn/2017/09/01/gms_for_china_keyone/
I don't have this device and just want to share this method. Use it at your own risk!
Download
System Requirement:
BBB100-4, upgrade to AAO472 or newer, Android 7.1.1
Steps:
1. Download GMSV4.1.apk from link above, copy it to phone and install
(1) You will see a new app called “谷歌安装器-水星版”
(2) Make sure you did not install any other GMS apk before!!!
2. Enable GMS
(1) Open the app you just installed and click the button, “开启GMS” as shown below. There would be a pop up saying “开启GMS”. After a few seconds, the pop up will close itself.
(2) Enter System Setting, enter Developer Options (*), find “Enable GMS” at the bottom. After you switch it on, you MUST reboot your phone.
*How to enable “Developer Options”: enter Settings-About Phone, click “Build Number” 7 times.
3. Set up location permission for GMS services.
(1) Enter Applications-Options (Gear Icon)-Permissions-Location
(2) From right corner 3 dot menu, “Show system app”, grant permission to Google Play Store, Google Play Service, and LocationServices.
4. Set up GMS apps permissions
(1) Settings-Application-right corner 3 dot menu, “Show system”
(2) Find out all GMS applications (including Google Backup, Google Calendar Sync, Google One Time inti, Google Play service, Google Play Store, Google Service Framework, Google Partner Settings, Google Contacts Sync, Google Account Management. Click them one by one, then click Permissions and grant all. Make sure you grant all permissions on all Google apps!
can anyone confirm?
I feel really uncomfortable to allow permissions for my entire Google apps to a 3rd party app...
Unable to find the "Enable GMS" feature under Developer Options after an upgrade to Android Oreo and a factory reset. The setting show if I search for "GMS" from the main Settings page.. but its not showing. Any suggestions?!

I'm from Brazil, sorry for my bad English, I had a smartphone like this and when I reset it, I had to make this configuration, I made a video for those who didn't understand how to do it

Hello!
I've successfully managed to enable the GMS on BBB100-4 but Assistant, Gmail, Google, Lens, Maps, Hangouts, Play Books and Youtube aren't working.
Only Disk, Duo, Chrome, Photos, Play Store and Translator work properly. The other apps just open and then close themselves.
Any suggestions what it could be, please?

Best Google Maps without GMS

Hey all,
After days of testing and comparing older APKs, I found the ideal version of Google Maps for the Huawei P40 Pro without GMS:
-no Google Play missing error on startup and/or when starting navigation
-allows saving searches locally on the device instead of having to sign in
Ideally, I wanted to find a version that doesn't come with the annoying "Nearby Places" bloat. Unfortunately this requires using a version 9.xx of Maps which crashes on startup on the P40 Pro.
Get it from here:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/maps/maps-10-29-2-release/
Check my screenshots to see the UI and save search setting!
Also, because we can't create location pins without signing into an account, if the "recent search history" does not suffice, you can create navigation widget shortcuts to your favorite places.
Hope this helps.
I would rather just install microG (quick & simple) ... then install the current version of google maps.
While MicroG is a cool alternative, my idea remains to use this phone without logging into a Google account or bringing back some GMS libraries onto the phone. No app really compares to Google Maps and this version specifically behaves perfectly.
I like the concept .. and I would join you .. if the notifications were reliable with HMS-naked .. but unfortunately pretty much all notifications are unreliable (either nothing or late or random) .. hence I am on the next best thing HMS+microG .. but if Huawei can ever fix the notifications, then I will uninstall microG and join you.

Summary of Options:
HMS-naked (broken/delayed notifications on heaps of apps, even Huawei App Gallery apps)
HMS+microG (simple open-source app for notifications with google firebase cloud messaging)
HMS+GMS (notifications broken)
HMS+GMS+icebox (freeze google play store as required for notifications and unfreeze intermittently for updating apps)
microG
https://microg.org/
1. Perform a factory reset of the phone (as you need to install apps after microG install).
2. Install F-Droid app (search for the apk .. F-Droid is a store with access to search for apps)
3. Add this repo into F-Droid .... https://microg.org/fdroid/repo
4. In F-Droid, then install MicroG Services Core.
5. In F-Droid, then Install MicroG Services Framework Proxy.
6. In F-Droid, then Install the MicroG FakeStore.
6. Open the Microg Settings app. Grant it all permissions and disable battery optimizations.
7. Add your Google account.
8. Turn on Device Registration, Cloud Messaging and SafetyNet.
9. Restart your phone.
10. Open Microg Settings app, check the status under Cloud Messaging. If it says not connected enter the following in the phone app: *#*#2432546#*#* and restart your phone. Check the status again - it should say Connected. (I had to enter the phone string and restart my phone twice until it said connected).
11. Install apps
12. Check connection in microG app for Google Cloud Messaging
All this will give you is push notifications with Google Cloud Messaging (including the Google Firebase messaging).
I also had notification issues caused by either Huawei PowerGenie and Android Doze .. if the notifications work and then suddenly stop after an hour or so, then try these ..

[GUIDE] OK Google - Google Assistant on Huawei P40 Pro

Hi!
During last days I tried to figure out how to run OK Google on my P40 Pro. I have to mention that my phone runs under EMUI10 (10.1.0.121 C432) + push notification fix (by Ilham and I ).
This is the result: it runs in background but the screen must be on. Also it works after restart.
1. Uninstall Google app (if it is already installed).
2. Set Play store to not auto-update the apps.
3. Unzip & Install (only) this version of Google app. It is untouched and original. Do not start after the install.
The newer version will not run in background.
4. In Settings\Apps\Apps find Google app and set:
a. Permissions = all allowed
b. Write system settings = Yes
5. In Settings\Apps\App launch find google app and set Manage manually ( Auto-launch+Secondary launch+Run in background = Active)
6. In Settings\Apps\Apps\ 3 dots\Special access\Battery optimization find Google app and set Not Allowed
7. In Settings\ search for assistant . Access Assistance & voice input\Assist app\Default assist app: select Google.
8. Restart the phone
9. In Settings\Google\ set you Assistant voice etc.
Do not update the Google app.
LE:. Android Auto will need the last version of Google app. Using the old one, AA will not work.
Great!! It works like a charm in my P40 ANA-LX4
Thanks!!
This instruction works! Thanks!
io emui 12 with google servos, this guide works
Hey i did that tho now working its not Google assistent anymote, it just opens google app to search. I lost my google assistent and now the app says my phone is not supported. Anyway to have it back? I have updated the app and still nothing

How To Guide Configuring WhatsApp to use Drive backup, without native gms. (Honor / Huawei)

Hi guys, after losing 6 months plus of WhatsApp data, and trying to recover it, I've found a way to conduct automatic/manual WhatsApp backup to google drive even if u don't have native gms on my Honor Magic 3 Pro.
Specs-
Device- Honor Magic 3 Pro
OS- Magic UI 7.0, no native gms
WhatsApp - Native, original version installed from Play/ Aurora store or WhatsApp official site.
Let me be clear about it, this method uses a gms sandbox app to achieve this, but doesn't actually run WhatsApp on the sandbox app, instead just uses the sandbox app gms to do drive backup and is something I found while experimenting. It's just extremely hassle free and completely do once and forget method.
There are two methods to achieve this, Method 1 is what I personally use.
METHOD 1
Advantage - Completely hassle free, do once, configure and forget method.
Once done using this method, can be repeated with any sandbox app of your choice. However repeating in future will be difficult. And will have extra steps. And will not be able to migrate to method 2 hassle free.
Disadvantage - Some WhatsApp features are limited, like payments won't work, and adding a status update is a bit of a long shot, but viewing status is not an issue.
METHOD 2
Advantage - No above disadvantages.
Disadvantage - Need to request a WhatsApp verification code every time you want to backup.
Can only be done with gbox sandbox and not any other sandbox app.
LINKS FOR DOWNLOAD -
1. Gbox
2. WhatsApp (gbox version)
3. Google Drive (gbox version)
4. WhatsApp Original Verion (clock on package installer, not Google play.
NOW ON TO THE ACTUAL METHOD...
INITIALIZATION - common for both methods
1. Go to GboxLabs official site.
2. Download Gbox.
3. Now on the website, click on the side burger menu (three parallel lines at top right corner)
4. Go to apps availability,
5. Scroll to the bottom and download WhatsApp.
6. Download and install google drive from the same page
6. Open Gbox, and give required permissions.
7. Login to Huawei ID.
8. Minimize Gox, go to device settings and give all permissions.
9. Go to app launch in settings and change to manage manually and switch on all three options.
10. Now launch WhatsApp, the one you installed from GboxLabs
11. Minimize it and go to device settings and give all permissions, also repeat the same as gbox on App launch.
12. Open google drive gbox version, add google account and go to settings and give permissions.
METHOD 2
13. Now open WhatsApp again (gbox version).
14. Verify your mobile number.
15. Conduct restores, skip drive restore and conduct local restore
16. Now you can conduct Google backups.
17. Wait wait , that's not the end.
18. Wait for google backup to end.
19. open original WhatsApp.
20. Verify your number.
21. Done you can now have native whatsapp with google drive backup.
22. every time you want to backup, just repeat from steps 12.
METHOD 1
13. Open WhatsApp gbox version
14. Verify your number
15. Conduct restores when prompted to, skip drive restore and only do local restore.
16. Conduct g drive backup,
17. wait for backup to complete.
18. Now uninstall WhatsApp (real one)
19. ⚠ ⚠ ⚠ while uninstalling, uncheck the Delete app data option.
20. Reinstall WhatsApp from WhatsApp website.
21. Open real WhatsApp,
22. Click agree and continue, do not click enter number.
23. Click on three dots on the top right corner.
24. Click on link to existing number.
25. You will get a QR code.
26. Click a picture of the QR code with another device.
27. Open WhatsApp (gbox version)
28. Click on settings and go to linked devices.
29. Click on add device.
30. If gbox crashes, remove your device screen lock and try again (it's a bug, I've contacted gbox support, they are working to fix it.
31. try again.
32. Scan the QR code you clicked on another phone.
33. Voila done.
34. Now you can normally use native WhatsApp with all function and gbox will do the backup for you.
NOTE : METHOD 1 CAN BE USED WITH ANY SANDBOX APP OF YOUR CHOICE, AFTER COMOLETEING THE INITIALIZATION STEPS AS MENTIONED ABOVE.
FINISHING UP -
1. Disable notifications on the gbox version of WhatsApp.
BACKGROUND INFO-
Both Gbox version of WhatsApp and real WhatsApp uses the same location to store app data.
so, data is interchangeable between both apps.
SOLVINGS ISSUES-
1. ⚠ ⚠ ⚠ Do not install WhatsApp from gbox app play store.
2. Install only from Gbox labs app availability.
once done you can update from play store, no issue.
3. If there's issue with not able to link existing WhatsApp, or option not shown, uninstall WhatsApp as in method 1 above. And install from link I've connected above.
