HAHHAH, ok thanks

There's potentially a few in development, but it's moving along slowly.

The clear answer is "no" and I don't see any signs of that changing any time soon (if at all). Someone started working on it, but it looks like they lack the expertise to see it through, so don't count on any custom ROMs.
However, this seems to be an issue that is more widespread, not just OnePlus phones are affected. I would actually be interested if there are any new Android phones that have custom ROMs readily available. All the official Lineage OS devices seem to be older.

Too much thing is missing guys.released kernel source has missing scripts and header files.any custom rom group don't have linaro waipo built in sources.Just relax and give time to developers.

Issue is that developers don't have a free and secure way of recovering their devices if it bricks. The MSM tool requires authentication with OnePlus which have deemed the tool as internal use only.
We're stuck until either someone cracks it or OnePlus makes the MSM tool public.

OSA Development

Since this thread is no longer just about me trying to get lollipop running on this phone (I AM still doing that though) I decided to 'rebrand' it as a general development thread for OSA. What's OSA? It stands for Only Some Android...ok so whats that? A team name I came up with to make myself feel more important (btw we're always looking for contributors).
So instead of focusing on just lollipop I will be discussing pretty much anything and everything I am doing in regards to the Desire 510.
Original Post Below:
Hi all, I am currently working on getting lollipop working on the Desire 510. So far I had a successful compile of LiquidSmooth 5.1.1 a couple nights ago but not a successful boot. I am currently 97% done syncing the CyanogenMod 12.1 sources (5.1.1 r3) and am now using the omni twrp sources to ensure a higher compatibility for the recovery, I am hoping for a successful boot soon.
I have the virgin mobile cdma model of the device and that's what I will be targeting although I will do my best to make sure the device tree is universal. If anyone has any insight or advice I am all ears.
I am going to use this thread as a development thread until I get the required 10 posts and I get a booting rom.

Im working on all that, I'm looking into using the msm8974 kernel, from what I have read it's practically identical to the 8226, I am also using the a5 (desire 816) as a template since the two devices are so similar. Little by little I am getting there, having to figure out these errors as they come.

rbhero has a modded a5 tree up if you wanna take a look at it,and just since your here..
have you gotten a error to something along the lines of:

Well the reason I posted this here is because I don't have the required ten posts yet. So I wouldn't have been able to make this thread to post anything. This is #9 and I am making progress so i will go ahead and contact a mod soon to have it moved over.

Gotcha. I didn't even know that was a rule. I was just giving you the heads up lol.
no worries. yeah you need 10 posts in order to post anything in the development subforums for the devices.
I just pm'd a mod and asked to have the thread moved to the appropriate subforum. Also I am making a LITTLE Progress, it does feel like two steps forward and one step back however. I'm confident that between those of us who are wanting it that it will happen.
Not sure if anyone is interested but I created another slack room under my account if anyone developing for the 510 wants to join and collaborate in order to (hopefully) let this device see its potential. Just pm me and i'll send you an invite.
Quickie update, I keep running in to the same set of errors and I know the answer is right in front of my face but im just not seeing it. I have a sneaking suspicion that I may be missing some headers and libraries on my machine but I can't be sure.
Also I've forgotten how much I dislike working with kernels lol

whats up with the kernel? im good in that department for the most part, roms are...eh,not my specialty
I can't get any kernel to compile, I keep getting failures while making the drivers.
Currently using a pre compiled image to at least try to get the rom built, I can solve these errors, i've done it before on other devices. How's progress on your end if any?

& none, got so angry at the stupid libqdutils thing i had last night i havent even attempted anything yet, been working on setting zswap/vnswap up so we have some leeway when it comes to ram..you got github at all?
I was fighting with libcutils for about two days, stupid friggin unicode strings....but I got past that, right now it's mostly "no rule to make target" stuff which is easy enough after you go digging around to find the right file/line to edit. Right this very second though I am working on getting the mkbootimg.mk properly set up and get a recovery image cooked.

The TeamYAR TWRP doesn't, not to my knowledge. He had one built locally but he didn't send it to me. I have a CM12 kernel that he built that boots (rom is still ****) but needs default encryption disabled amongst other things.

It's kind of a "me" thing, If I am going to go thru the effort to port cyanogenmod to an unsupported device then I'll take the extra time to compile every bit, including the recovery.

[DEV][G925F] CyanogenMod 12.1 Development

Hello there, it's time to get this rolling somewhere.
This is a Development-Thread. Please don't post if you aren't a developer.
What this IS
This is a Development thread, a platform for developers to discuss the development of CyanogenMod for the G925F. It's made so that we can get this working, fix up the problems - because there will be severe ones - and achieve a working official Rom at some point.
At the moment it's @OldDroid and me with help, but it would be awesome if interested devs would join in so that we can make this a team effort.
In short, it's a Dev-Thread in a dev section.
Right now it doesn't work and I'm not sure that it will work.
What this IS NOT
This is NOT a working Rom. Not even close. I can only link you to the kernel repo and soon to device and vendor, as they are almost completed for a first try.
And yes, there is no download link for the Rom. Because there isn't anything you could download yet.
This is also NOT intended as a Q&A thread. Please don't ask if your variant will be supported, I will respond by trolling. Firstand only priority is to get this running, then we'll talk about variants.
And ETA is an evil word with no meaning here. I work slowly, deal with it
Where are we currently?

It's apparently not without some minor casualties, but we got it. Huge thanks to @RaymanFX, he's helping me, since I'm not that much into CM building yet and I'm also basing this project on his CM for the N910C, which's 5433 is darn similar to our 7420, so we got a pretty good base to begin with.

Good luck develop without documentation for exynos chipset.
But can you tell us more in details how porting works and what are the challenges with it.
Is it hard to develop a rom without samsung binary files and drivers? I know they are proprietary and closed soruce.
If just Samsung could be more developer friendly like Sony.
We can request source for closed binaries here, http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=inquiryView, most likely they wont answer

I can't say what the challenges here will be, since I couldn't manage to even flash it yet - Second build is compiling since hours now. For now it's using all the proprietrary stuff we managed to grab and some additional stuff from the 5433 CM. But without booting it's hard to tell what won't work and might present a challenge ^^ From what I saw it'll be tough to just get the modem running. The hard part is to write the drivers yourself

It's interesting that you can use drivers from 5433, which is a 32bit platform. Most drivers are not compatible when you switch from 32bit to 64bit if I am right?

If you have the 5.1.1 boot loader and are using 5.0.2 as a base. Sboot will not boot it. As a fyi. It checks Linux versions.

Both is 5.1.1 and Sboot seems to clear the boot as well, everything seems to go fine, it just doesn't boot. :/ Trying with building the kernel during the build itself instead of using a prebuilt one and see how that goes

I would personally flash an Engineering boot loader while doing this, to ensure version checking is not the issue.

Huawei P9 Lite devs

Good day lads,
Disclaimer:
Code:
I don't know if you noticed a thread in the Q&A section that was closed by Matt. While I respect Matt's decision to close it, I find it a very relevant topic... The future of LineageOS for the P9 Lite. Please note that I do respect meticulous' wishes to charge for his work because I know how time consuming it is I wish to firmly express that I do not condone this mentality when it comes to Linux based operating systems.
I decided to make this thread with my little Dev knowledge in order to attract more devs who's willing to put in work on a stable device tree for free in spirit of community and for all to enjoy.
I do not have the Lineage source code at the moment but I will start downloading soon, I do know that I will need help and I encourage more devs/beginners to lend a hand for the benefit of us all.
Please, to begin, post links to relevant tarballs/links/downloads for development purposes, device tree and kernels, anything you've worked on so perhaps we can all work together.
Cheers

Hmmm... The fact that building android ROMs is time consuming is not a good enough reason to request money for OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE. Yes, LineageOS and android in general are open source, so that's an infraction.
About the collective effort, that's a good idea, but there are no sources from Huawei right now. You need to wait for the Nougat sources if Huawei really gives a dime about releasing them. From that point, it is easier to develop and get stuff working. Until then, good luck working without sources and experimenting stuff. Not to mention that there's no official TWRP as well, and TWRPs posted here on XDA for our devices have specific requirements to get them flashed on your device.

Why do you need to come here with negativity? I don't support meticulous but he can do what he wants with the device sources he took the time to build, heck, he doesn't need to release those sources so I don't know what you're talking about, firstly. Secondly, a device tree can be built, Q.E.D we as a community can work on it together, if they release it we'll just have it much easier.
Note also; I've asked for relevant input and help from the community.
Thanks for your time though.
EDIT: P.S Professional Flasher, have you ever built a ROM before? Because that's my target here, finding people who knows how to fix error and put the tree together

This disussions are undesired here. I know a board where you can discuss that. If you want, feel free to have a look at it. This little Board is very pleased about every enlivenment. Opened a thread over there.
Well, developers do not grow on trees. I guess there are not enough devs here who have the P9 Lite device.
However I like the intention of the thread author. For that reason please try to discuss in a human way.
In the end: I am vers interested in learning how to build custom roms but I can't find a way how to learn it. Does anyone have some good advice?
Updated kernel
Hello everyone, I've recently been working on updating the Honor 5c kernel to 3.10.105 and so far it seems to be working fine on my P9lite, LineageOS 14.1. It's based purely on stock, with one or two commits borrowed from Meticulus' kernel repo, so it compiles without errors.
Since this is a new account, I can't link my repo directly, you can find it on my github profile, Avsky.
I'll be making my own additions to master branch, while stocklike branch will contain only fixes and kernel updates.
If somebody would like to test them, you can get the boot image from releases tab on github. Stock kernel hasn't been tested, mind you, always keep a backup!
Also depending on how much time I have, I might get started on bringing OmniROM to our device (I'm really missing it). I'm just a college student though, so it might never see the light of day, any help is much appreciated.

Glad to hear it! Your images seem to be using uncompressed zImages, while in stock ROMs they're gzipped, seems like unintentional change somewhere in your build process.

Yeah you're right. I just checked it and I am copying Image instead of Image.gz. Seems like it's only a 'cosmetic' issue because it runs anyways.
Great news guys, my sources now compile with latest Linaro toolchain. The kernel actually barely needed any fixes, but I'm not releasing anything prebuilt yet, since I have no idea what impact on stability my hacks might have.

Perhaps reading through GitHub commits, checking the code and see whether or not you're really interested. If you're using a Linux distribution which I strongly advise, learn bash scripts first - it's easy and self explanatory and from there you will get basics of directories and calling up files.

[ROM] [TEST] Miui 10 for Oneplus 6t

I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device.
This is a port of MIUI 10 for the op6/6t
Flash at your own risk and make sure to check what's working. Logcats would be appreciated!
Instructions:
1: Flash OxygenOS 9.0.7 twice, this is very important
2: Extract the download somewhere
3: Run the OnePlus 6t flasher (make sure phone is still in fastboot/bootloader)
4: Reboot to TWRP (fastboot boot it if it dissapeared, if you install TWRP you must install Magisk)
5: Flash or adb sideload NFC fix that is included in the download
6: Reboot and install V4A Magisk module and enable headset and speaker, this fixes audio
7: Enjoy!
Download (v3):
MOD EDIT: LINK REMOVED
What works:
Everything except stuff in what doesn't work
What doesn't work:
NFC
Flashlight toggle (3rd party apps work)
MIUI camera (3rd party apps work)
Fingerprint (top priority - @nima0003 - me)
Audio fix #2:
Credits to @dougie313
Flash viper4android module
Grab root browser
Go to vendor\lib\soundfx folder and rename or delete all files in folder
Source code: https://github.com/OnePlusOSS/android_kernel_oneplus_sdm845
Credits: @nima0003 me @ProtoDeVNan0 for the current build

Yeah, it'll be hard to do so because of school but I will. It's based off of mi 8 Dev miui (same soc)

Ah, so it doesn't use OxygenOS as a base?
I'm personally very interested in a MIUI ROM for the OP6T and seeing that someone is willing to work on it makes me pretty happy.
What about features like the mute switch and in-display fingerprint sensor?

It's uses AOSP as the base rom, I'm pretty sure alert slider doesn't work yet, hell I'm not sure it even boots yet. But if someone is able to test and it boots stable I'll get to work on those type of things.

My 6T is my daily driver. I may back everything up later and test it out.
Wouldn't it be easier to use OOS as the base for better performance, easier porting of features and so on? Would also make most kernels compatible.
Am I correct in assuming this supports treble? If so, I'm sure it'll make it easier to focus on 6/6t features being added rather than worrying about troubleshooting compatibility ??

Yes it is treble based, but I didn't even think of the basic bootable gsi. I'll look more into this, thanks for the idea.

Yes that's a great idea actually, I was just worried some framework stuff would get in the way but maybe not.

Sure thing! We finally got treble support via lineage os for the Moto Z2 Force, which really helped keeping the device alive. Also makes flashing a TON easier, so maybe it's a good place to start
I'm downloading to test, report back in a bit.

My dad traded his z2 force for a 6t. Rom support was good but everything was messed up, camera didn't focus, no safteynet...

There are workarounds, but I think it being one of the earlier devices having A/B partitions and basically being abandoned by Moto made it a task. I still have mine, but I wonder if there's something wrong with my device because I can't really flash anything beside rooted stock Rom, which leads me to think it's just a tedious device and I'd rather focus on my new 6t which is FAR superior in every way!

Yeah same thing happened to my Xperia xc, I could only flash stock rom, not even rooted.
Flashing failed, error: invalid zip file format.

Great, thank you, working on it.
You would be my hero
It is great to see other types of roms, instead of only los type roms. Great to switch between them over time.

Hopefully not. Lot's of people prefer stock-based ROMs specifically for the reason that they're usually more stable, almost always better performant and always better for battery (with the exception of TouchWiz). And the whole feature thing is also useful.
Lot's of people base the ROMs of Lineage as it usually has hardware specific support, but as we don't have official lineage yet and it would still be a lesser experience than a stock ROM, I strongly advocate for the OOS base.
Wish I could help out but I'm not a developer. If you need something designed, contact someone at Xiaomi, OnePlus or Google, or if you need some piece of code some person is sitting on, let me know (on Twitter or Telegram @dennisbednarz as i don't use the forum DM system).
So basically you just ported the OS and want testers? As of now, OP6T is just 3 weeks old and hardly would anyone dare to try something that says 'I highly doubt it'll work' in the OP.

honestly edit the respitory because so far they dont work i have made few files but keep in mind i literally borrowed them all from the perseus device tree since our device is pretty much identical apart from battery, if you do wanna make changes please know what your doing because i have no clue lol , and hopefully we can get this to boot ONLY edit files in the lineage path because the other paths need to be untouched okay thank you

Sorry guys I can't lie I think it's a complete mess I will be building a device tree for this device I just need A LOT of time and then I will try building some ROMs for this device reason why it will take so long is because I am learning myself and this will be the first time I am doing it hope it goes successfully for me
Hi guys! I've being making ROMs for the original Mi Mix and decided to take the plunge and get a Mix 3 5G. I've built up these skeleton trees and made LineageOS, but I haven't received my new device yet so I can't test it. It's horribly unoptimised and still has a lot of bloat from unnecessary drivers (hence the 1gb size) and I have no idea if this will even boot but here is the initial build if anyone is brave enough to install it. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1WOsXzgpdA8qTP6QWHi1gNW131dqgdDIC
This is an engineering build to help track down bugs so ADB debugging is enabled as standard. Any logs would be appreciated.

I didn't realise that I didn't have link sharing on, should be ok to download now. I haven't uploaded my tree to GitHub yet, but once I do it will be available at https://github.com/Inkypen79/device_xiaomi_andromeda

Don't get too excited yet lol. This LineageOS build is pie, once I know that's stable then I can move to ten. I brought up the original Mi Mix to ten so I have an idea of what's required.

Lmao I realized when it said 16.0 aha that's fine tho still a lot more progress than me
I keep getting this error when trying to flash...the suggestion was to update twrp but 3.3.1-0 is the only one we have available ....
E: String resource 'zip_compatible_err' not found.
Using default value
Zip Treble compatibility error!
Invalid zip file format!
Any suggestions?
i think its my fault lemme just factory reset my phone install stock and see what happens. Yep our twrp is broken as after install it bricks whole device , and I know this isn't from the ROM because basically twrp bricked my phone from reloading to fastboot, it's very broken , but no one has been able to test that out because there hasn't been much to flash recently. Therefore @Inkypen will build some twrps for me to try and flash and see if his builds do work , fingers crossed they will

I also have a mi mix 3 5g on the way, will be happy to test once i get it, thx alot for you work!
So far I have built a working version of Orange Fox recovery. Still waiting for my device to arrive, then some real work can start

I should be getting my Mix 3 5G this week, the parcel is allegedly with my local post office already. I'd love to help out to get LineageOS working on it. I have minimum experience having flashed custom ROMs onto my current phone (Mi Max helium) as well as that of my Mrs (Mi 6 sagit), but I'd love to get more involved if possible. I don't need it to be my daily driver immediately, so I just need enough confidence in what we'll be doing here so as not to turn it into an expensive, cute brick The chassis being ceramic, it's already half way there right off the bat, but let's not get any closer please
