General The OnePlus 10 Pro Debloat Thread - OnePlus 10 Pro

Hey guys. I know no one asked. And I know there are 13,126 different threads across different sites for debloating your phone. Of course, none of those are universal, and none of them are tailored to the device in-question.
My device details : [NE2215 Android 13.1 - Oneplus update : EX01. This should be fine for the other models, and other update versions, but just wanted it to be understood that this is what I used, tested, and confirmed stable.
Here is my debloat thread. It breaks no core functions of the phone, but it may remove a niche thing or two that a very small percent of people use. I was not going to initially write anything up like this, I mostly do what I do for myself nowadays. I recently made a comment somewhere here showing the list of things I debloated. I will not be held responsible for any issues you may face, but I will tell you that I have run this phone with these packages removed with no issues, and only update this list after extensive testing to confirm no crashing or weirdness.
Also know, you can disable the update package (included in the .zip or 2nd preset). com.oplus.ota cannot be uninstalled, but it can be disabled. The other 2 packages that are relevant to updates are com.oplus.sau and com.oplus.romupdate, but these cannot be disabled or uninstalled.
Be advised - Always-On Display needs a TON of extra stuff which I personally do not like having enabled. Just know if you run my debloat thing, AOD won't work unless you restore the AOD dependencies. There is a spoiler at the bottom to try and help you get this back if you want. Not recommended.
On the latest 13.1 update (13.1.0.522(EX01)), OnePlus actually removed some of the bloat. So you will notice only like 130 or so from the 154 packages are "selected", but that is because a lot of the crap was removed from the system by OnePlus. I left the list with all the old stuff, just in case someone is on an older version. No harm to anyone either way.
In 13.1, they only added like 7 packages worth removing from whatever the last update was. Info on the packages in the spoiler "Info" below
Latest debloat. as of 6/17/23. No AOD as usual
There is a .bat file attached. Assuming you have ADB working, just have to double-click the .bat.
Alternatively, if you have or use ADB AppControl (basically ADB with a GUI and pretty icons) there is a .txt preset you can use. The same text can be used to "rebloat"/undo.
There is a "rebloat" batch file if you want to undo and restore everything. As usual, AOD (Always On Display) is debloated. There are instructions on how to re-enable AOD stuff, but it was a while back, and idk if still useful (OP version of AOD requires a TON of crap, be advised). But know I won't support AOD, sorry. Shouldn't be hard to fix if you read the instructions, maybe have to add/edit something, maybe not.
Below, is only a list of things removed, this is only informational, and my understanding of what those things are/do. If the section is blank, I either don't know and/or it isn't worth mentioning. This list is likely missing a few packages, but meh, nothing too major i imagine. You can compare the preset/batch file to check if/what something is missing. Currently, it tries to remove up to 154 packages (if installed). Or just ask if you have a question on a specific package.
Spoiler: Long list, so spoiler Just info.

AOD will not work. This is not a bug/glitch, AOD was removed on purpose. Read all the way below to restore AOD functionality (not recommended).
Now, these apps are not actually uninstalled. The APK resides within /system somehwere, and it is not possible to remove files from SAR without breaking the OS. So instead, these are uninstalled from the user profile. Most phones only have 1 user account. Most people do not share with other people like a PC that use multiple users. In addition, I choose to use the user uninstall instead of disable because disabled packages can actually run without you knowing. Not to mention via updates or other methods, a disabled app can be re-enabled.
The apps if you choose to remove them, can actually be re-added, since they are not actually deleted. For example, if I wanted to restore the oneplus file manager, the command would be adb shell pm install-existing com.oneplus.filemanager .Simply change the package name [from the list above] you want to re-install. Let me know if anyone has any questions or concerns.
Also, I highly recommend everyone go into Developer Options, and enable the setting that says "Disable Permission Monitoring". I am not going to turn this into a "tune-up your phone thread", but I strongly advise that one thing.
Important : I do not recommend removing this package : com.oplus.athena. Removing Athena breaks the "close all" button, it also screws up some actual memory management which can lead to the system freezing and you have to force turn it off with button combo. ( I do not touch it in the script )
Notable Mention : com.oplus.eyeprotect --removing this breaks the special color modes (brilliant vibrant, cinematic). doesnt actually change colorations. ( I do not touch it in the script )
AOD =
Below you will find the commands to try enable AOD and all its dependencies (it is a LOT of crap just for AOD. There is a way to have only stock android AOD, but it's not worth it for me.) [also, there may be new things needed as of new updates, i haven't kept up with this and will no longer support it]
Here are the things you need to restore if you want AOD. Keep in mind, I restored ALL functions for ALL things related to AOD. This pretty much makes the debloat useless, because the services used are atrocious (deepthinker, cosa, and smartengine. plus the weather services). If you really want to restore AOD and all its features you need this :
Spoiler: Restore AOD Functions only
adb shell pm install-existing com.oplus.deepthinker

I found it on my phone under Wallpapers & Style > Always-On Display (large button on the right). BUT, it does not work without "Intelligent Services" (the phone asks you to enable that service once you try to apply an AOD effect). "Intelligent Services" is a no-go for me, but I will make sure to put a disclaimer about AOD. Why it's tied to "Intelligent Services", I couldn't tell you. I get it has to check online for things, and I can understand it needs background gathering capabilities, but it is too intrusive.
Intelligent Services, Portrait, daydreams, omoji, android intelligent services, and more are needed to get it fully working. Idk why oppo/op tied it to so many things. , but its a bit much for my taste. Below you will find script to enable AOD and all its dependencies (it is a LOT of crap just for AOD. There is a way to have only stock android AOD, but it's not worth it for me to put the trouble into it.)

OMG, I better do without the AOD anyway, I never really liked the notification system of this aod haha

would you have a more conservative DEBLOAT?

Thanks a lot! Worked good on OP9Pro with A13 Open Beta 1. No side issues to report yet.
I did notice that while on idle, connection request made to "tracking domains" were lowered (using ControlD DNS). I will monitor standby battery consumption in the coming days. Thanks again!

(There is a way to have only stock android AOD, but it's not worth it for me) Could you teach me how to have the stock android aod system?

You would have to enable the android services disabled for the full AOD remove. Then you have to figure out which items, likely oplus AOD, to enable for the settings to appear.

how to uninstall the intelgent service? will it damage the phone? in the application management there is a function to stop, after the acquisition, the current consumption from the battery drops, and after a few seconds it rises again to 350-400mA.

.Run the adb commands to debloat all the things including intelligent services. It will not damage anything on the phone. And if you want to, you can undo the process

Ran through a bunch of these.. Left a few like photos (I use the unlimited back up, I posted the mod the other day)
The telemetry in this phone is so bad.
Hoping with my already tweaked system I can get some more out of it. Will let you know buddy

I don't seem to have stats rolling through but my SOT has gone through the roof..
Some of this telemetry crap is a hog.. I had a list of apps I used yesterday, but they're gone today.
Here's my battery screen, I'll grab GSAM and get clearer stats today, I've been using my phone normally, calls, camera, Whatsapp, telegram, Amazon, browsing, no games.
10+ hours with 21% left lol.. This is more like it..
I'd recommend everyone running through these debloats.

That´s insane. I have moreless the same usage as you, as weel as the standby time and got 4h30min sot with 20 % left.
Also I´m on 9 Pro with a slight smaller battery, but still!

Almost all of them, didn't do photos, just use your head. If it seems important then kill it.
Even removing just the tracking apps should be enough.. for crying out loud they even included media Tek software lol we use SDragon

1. it's more then likely apps, follow my tips at the end of this message.
2. That depends, apps is the main cause for concern, again follow my tips.
3. You should always be using oxygen updater to obtain full firmwares... This sentiment is doubled if you're rooted.
Tips:
Change 5G to 4G
Remove tiktok is 100% dodgy Chinese spyware.
Remove Facebook use web based
Remove Facebook messenger use web based
Remove Twitter use web based
Remove any ad based apps pay for the pro version
Turn off gestures like lift to wake
Change from QHD to FHD (No difference)
Allow auto brightness
Turn off WiFi overnight
Turn all updates to manual not auto (play store)
Remove any so you don't use
Change back up to once a month (WhatsApp)
Turn off location history (Google)
Use titanium to remove any system apps you don't need
Don't allow anonymous usage statistics for any app ever.
Don't allow tracking cookies on any website
Use adaway (root needed)
Don't open web pages in Google app (I use Samsung browser)
Don't use xposed.
If you game you will not get high SOT scores, period.
Don't bother with battery saving apps or monitoring apps.
Streamline your apps, if you don't use it, remove it.
Don't allow WiFi scanning (as in letting other apps use it when it's not on)
Never allow personalised ads.
Never allow notifications from websites
Always decline cookies unless your absolutely have to allow some tracking (common sense prevails here)
Optimise as many apps as possible unless it affects performance.
Don't allow apps to remain open in the notification area.
Change your launcher, my preferred launcher is lawn chair and this did actually burn up some battery when compared to the OnePlus launcher.
Don't use live widgets (yes they look cool, but they annihilate your battery)
Live wallpaper, again very cool, but battery burners.
Again! Don't charge overnight, make a note of your percentage then see what it is in the morning, you shouldn't be losing more than 5% really, if you've done well then it'll be reflected here, the good SOT results will follow.
Turn off live read outs of network speed, RAM usage in the status bar.
Turn off NFC unless in use.
Leave location on in quick settings.
Don't overcharge your phone, IE: overnight
Don't allow your phone to fully deplete the battery.
Whatever anyone says, this does 100% damage batteries, there is no argument here and I won't entertain anyone who says otherwise, Ive seen through real life tests what this results in, bloated, inefficient, possibly dangerous lithium batteries.
Keep your phone out the sun.
Keep it out of extreme cold.
Keep your device clean dust free.
Snapchat, Viber, house party, apps like that tends to use more battery as they don't have great dormancy periods.
Apps like speed test by Ookla tend to have location tracking, similarly they tend to turn themselves on and off when they feel like it, my advice, install test and uninstall.
Allow a couple of battery cycles between tweaking sets, to give you an idea of how much of a difference you've made.
Use BBS to see what is being used, once you've removed problems, remove BBS.
I've just written this from the top of my head so o probably missed some things, the general idea is to keep your device clean and fresh, remove files you don't need any more.
Keep an eye on apps that misbehave or aren't wanted, index your folders so they aren't a mess.
The more good things you do means the more potentially bad apps you can have on your phone, eg if you really need Facebook, you could keep it so long as you clean up other areas of your phone.
Good luck.

How to deactivate RCS service / Rich Communication on XZ1 compact?

Hi all,
after updating to 47.1.A.8.49 my XZ1 compact (german firmware, retail) keeps on consuming like 8% battery on RCS.
I already disabled VoLTE and Wifi-Calling but it did not help.
I read that normally there should be an option to deactivate Rich Communication in the Messages App, but I can't find any there.
(I know it should help to deactivate/deinstall the Messages App, but I would like to keep receiving SMS, I only do not need the "chat" feature of RCS.)
Anyone knows how I can deactivate RCS?
best wishes

If you have ADB set up on your laptop/desktop it would be easy.
ADB Shell
pm list packages ?
pm uninstall --user 0 "package name goes here"
Sorry, I am not at home with my machine in front of me, so I can't tell you what the package name is.
I also have had big battery drain since the 8.49 update. If you're in the uninstalling mood, removing 'home network' made a difference to battery life, as did removing 'Find My Device' from admin apps.
To remove home network, look for a package called 'com.sony.android.dnla', or something similar, sorry not in front of my machine to check.
RCS isn't actually the problem. It's a bug in Oreo. Android System is sometimes showing up as RCS or Phone in the battery stats or monitoring apps. So disabling RCS won't actually help you.
@Didgesteve
Thanks for your post. As I do not use "find my device" I removed it after your post. I don't really know if it got the battery usage better, but well.. I didn't use it before, so why keep it in admin apps
Do I really need to remove the dnla package to save battery? (It's deactivated anyway in my settings)
@jrbmed08
Thank you, too. I once thought I have seen exactly this: After a reboot the x% usage were shown as Android System; after 1-2min it said RCS.

I don't think there's any one thing that will miraculously change your battery usage, it's the unwritten scripture that drives all us modders and obsessive fiddlers to keep trying to improve.
But if you are into tweaking for the better, the new Google Play services beta did seems to make a small difference.
Download from APK mirror and update.

after updating to 47.1.A.8.49 my XZ1 compact (german firmware, retail) keeps on consuming like 8% battery on RCS.
Anyone knows how I can deactivate RCS?
best wishes

I did some digging with your tip about RCS. When I first got this phone I was getting almost 4 days on one charge (I'm not a heavy user), but I thought it was a bit strange that since November I have had much worse battery. I put it down to the new firmware, perhaps 8.49 was much more thirsty. Aparently, since November, Google have activated RCSService, I keep seeing this coming up my battery usage charts, next to Carrier Service, using more battery than bluetooth and I do 2 hours of bluetooth music a day. I never saw it before, suddenly it's on all the time, using batrery and data.
Turning on the 'background data only' makes no difference, likewise 'background activity'
So the intention here is to stop and disable carrier services and disable RCSService (it's impossible to stop or uninstall).
adb shell
pm disable --user 13 com.gsm.service.rcs
pm disable --user 13 com.google.ims
pm disable --user 13 com.android.service.ims.rcsservice
pm disable --user 13 com.android.ims.rscmanager
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.qualcomm.qti.uceShimService
To find which is your elevated user
pm list users
and pick the higher user number
The offending package is called com.qualcomm.qti.uceshimservice.
My battery usage has never been so good, I've gone from 2 days to almost 4.
But, there are consequences, I don't get a 'delivered' notice on my SMS anymore and perhaps this rolls over to other messanger apps. I've tested Whatsapp and Telegram, eveything apears to be ok.
I might be doing something awful to the messanger and it would be great if someone could tell me what I've done, but so far I can live with it if I get my amazing battery back.
It could be to undo disabling the services you need to factory reset your phone, just sayin.
Edit: my fault if you were having problems copy/pasting these as I had not put a space inbetween User & 13. I have corrected it now, so copy/paste should work.
Sorry, I can not tell you what you did there, but what I can tell you is that on my device none of these packages exist (yes my id is also 13):
1|G8441:/ $ pm disable --user13 com.gsm.service.rcs
Error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown package: com.gsm.service.rcs
1|G8441:/ $ pm disable --user13 com.google.ims

1|G8441:/ $ pm disable --user13 com.android.ims.rscmanager
Error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown package: com.android.ims.rscmanager
The qualcomm package exists, but as you said: No way to disable it...
package:com.qualcomm.qti.uceShimService
There is also a
package:com.google.android.ims
there, but like the qualcomm one, you can not disable this one, too.
My workaround at the moment is just to let the phone disable wifi in standby. This way I get like 4-5 days standby (+just a little bit usage).
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.qualcomm.qti.uceShimService
did the trick @Didgesteve
This is working for weeks now.

Hmm, it worked for me, each line comes back 'Package "package name" new state: disabled'
I'm not sure that user 13 necessarily exists on other phones. You have to see what number your elevated user is and use that.
I checked the users before I used the commands, my user has also id 13, nur even of I do not use this option the return message is the same...
@shaftenberg
If I would deinstall the package and would need it later, how would I reinstall it?

It won't let you uninstall, it's a system file. You need elevated access.

Are you using ADB shell from a command prompt on a PC, or an emulator on the phone?
Hi, I tested it too.
I got the same results as in #7.
I got my Packages with "pm list packages ?" copied it into notepad and searched for the rcs packages, found nothing.
This Package I haven't too: package:com.qualcomm.qti.uceShimService
The Result for "pm list users" is:
UserInfo{0:...:13} running
... shows my real name.
I'm using FW DE 8.49.
Best regards, mates.
@Didgesteve
I did my commands via ADB. It showed my user correctly and his ID.
Like Raz0Rfail I also copied the complete list into notepad and searched for the packages. Didn't find them there, too.
(Just the qualcomm one as mentioned. Also using FW DE 8.49)

@shaftenberg
Ahh okay, thanks
I thought I would need to download the install package or something like this. (Because uninstall would really "wipe" the package.)
Perhaps I need to check my spelling, but here is the results I got.
I did RCSService twice by mistake, but otherwise, they all show as disabled.
All,
You should be aware that the RCS and IMS services are required for VoLTE and VoWiFi.
So if you have disabled them, your VoLTE will not work.
I'll repeat my statement from here, that:
IMS is the "IP Multimedia Subsystem" and is used as the framework for telephony over IP based data connections. That's essentially what VoLTE is: VOIP for mobile phones.
I'll also note that RCS is the "Rich Communication Services" and is the successor to SMS and is essentially an extension of SMS and MMS as better described here.
So you're probably guaranteed to be breaking some advanced SMS/MMS features by disabling RCS services.
Yes, only I don't use VoLTE or VoWifi, and also my carrier does not really support RCS features... So in my case it's only extra battery usage for features I don't need or use

Yes @pbarrette , you're right. But I have looked into this. I'm not suggesting that everyone starts deleting random system files on their phone.
Carrier services was rolled out by Google to try and claw back some of the market share of the messaging market.
It theory it brings group messaging, bigger pictures, read receipts and of course emojis to SMS.
Google realised that they were losing to the likes of Whatsapp and Telegram, but as usual it's too little too late.
I don't use group SMS messaging. Group messaging belongs in Whatsapp, obviously. I don't use emojis in texts. If I lose read receipts to claim back 20% battery, then that's a hardship I'll suffer.
I'm not sure what happened to the November update of carrier services, but I'm not alone in noticing HUGE battery drain from an app that I didn't ask for and don't want.
I've explained their might be risks, but for me, removing these services has made no difference to my SMS use and my battery is lasting longer. I'm just saying it like it is.

[Guide] Vivo 1804 | Phone Setup | Mods & Tricks | Pro Setup
With the Vivo 1804 / Funtouch OS there is no search option in the settings so often finding the best settings is often difficult.
I recommend the below mods/tricks to set up this device before you start using this as your daily driver :good:
1. Full Screen Mode
Settings > Display & Brightness > Third Party app display ratio
Select all apps like video players, YouTube etc to make the most of your screen (By default they don't go full screen)
2. Set Default App Settings
Settings > More Settings > Permission Settings > Default App Settings
Select your preferred apps as default apps
3. Gestures
Settings > Smart Motion > Smart Turn on/off screen
4. Smart Click
Settings > Smart Click > Turn on/off flashlight
5. Flash Light Notification (Optional)
Settings > More Settings > Flash Light Notifications
6. How to take a Screenshot
Vol Down + Power or Three finger swipe
7. Disable System Apps via ADB:
The device does shave some bloatware which i was unable to uninstall without root access, thus i used the ADB commands to disable those apps and stop them from running in the background.
You need to enable USB Debugging before you proceed further, to do so:
Settings > More Settings > About Phone > Click on Software Version 7 Times to enable Developer Options
Go Back and scroll to the bottom under More Settings you will find Developer Options
Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging, and continue if you wish to disable system apps/bloatware :good:
I uninstalled the following as per my personal taste:
1. Default Launcher | Package Name: 'com.bbk.launcher2'
I use Nova as my preferred launcher so i removed the default launcher. You can still keep both if you want to and mark Nova as default. Make sure if you install any third party launcher before your remove the default launcher :good:
2. Vivo Browser | Package Name: 'com.vivo.browser'
I prefer Chrome over the stock browser so removed it
3. Vivo Email: | Package Name: 'com.vivo.email'
Prefer Gmail over any other email client so removed it
4. YouTube: | Package Name: 'com.google.android.youtube'
I use YouTube Vanced instead of stock Youtube due to adds and it offers a non rooted version which can simply be installed as an apk.
Find the latest version here & MicroG to be installed for login.
Follow the XDA Thread
5. Google Music | Package Name: 'com.google.android.music'
I use Poweramp as my preferred music player and Apple music as online streaming player so removed it
6. Play Movies | Package Name: 'com.google.android.videos'
Use Netflix / Amazon Video as preferred movie player so removed it
7. Touchpal Keyboard | Package Name: 'com.emoji.keyboard.touchpal.vivo'
Use SwiftKey as my preferred keyboard since many years so removed the default keyboard.

PS: A Factory Reset will restore all disabled/uninstalled apps so there is no need to worry if you mess it up
I shall keep adding more tips as i get more time with this device :fingers-crossed:
Thank you for your time :highfive:
Tips, Tricks & Hidden Settings (Updated 10 Oct 2018)
1. Allow Apps to AutoStart & Run in the Background
Funtouch OS Kills most apps in the background in order to achieve better battery life and you would often find yourself missing notifications from your apps like whatsapp, telegram, instagram, twitter etc. You have to allow them to Autostart & Whitelist them/Allow to run in the background if you want to receive timely notifications. To do so follow the below:
* Settings > More Settings > Permission Management > Autostart (Select your preferred apps)
* Settings > Battery > High Background Power Consumption > Select apps
Allow the apps to continue running in the background so keep receiving notifications instantly.
I recommend most social media apps and messenger apps like Whatsapp, Telegram, Instagram, Twitter along with your Widgets and any other applications that are important for you to keep active.
2. Install & Enable GSam Battery Monitor: For complete battery stats i recommend GSam Battery Monitor
You can enable the complete access via ADB
Code:
Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.17134.286]

C:\WINDOWS\system32>adb devices

pm grant com.gsamlabs.bbm.pro android.permission.BATTERY_STATS

3. Remove the Developer Options Red Banner when activated | Credits to @ruk21201
Most of us like to tickle with the Developer options which can be activated under:
Settings > More Settings > About Phone > Click 7 times on Software Version > Back to More Settings > Scroll at the Bottom and you would now have Developer Options.
Now the moment you activate Developer Options there is a Red Banner Displayed on the Status bar which does not go away unless you close developer options. Thus to remove the Red banner follow the below:
Settings > More Settings > App Manager > More > Show System Processes > Scroll Down to Vivo Services > Storage > Clear Data
The Red Banner would now be gone and you are free to tickle around with the device.
*Upon restart the red banner would appear again so repeat the process whenever you restart.
Settings to be activated inside developer options:
1. Enable USB Debugging
2. Edit Animation Scale to 0.5 (Window, Transition & Animator) to make device feel more snappy.
3. Force Activities to be Resizable if you do a lot of multi tasking.

I have not come accross any twrp recovery image for V11 pro as its not supported by the official twrp project yet thus I don't think there is a way to root it as yet.
I've bought this device as a secondary device so I keep it locked on factory state to be able to do Ota's.
What issues are you facing to use it without root if you can elaborate as the stock device works well for me.

Hey buddy, although i am not in the favor of spoofing your location for games or any other reason but that's your personal preference.
You can try below:
1. Google Playstore > Settings > Do not auto update apps
2. Settings > More Settings > Accessibility > Turn off auto update for System apps.
3. Settings > Security & Privacy > More Security Settings > Device Manager > Deactivate Find My Device as Device Administrator
4. Settings > Security & Privacy > More Security Settings > Turn off Google Play Protect & Find My Device
5. Settings > More Settings > App Manager > Google Play Services > Clear Cache/Data & Uninstall Updates
6. Download & Install your preferred Play Services version from apk mirror for correct device architecture arm64
7. Reboot the device after installation
Let me know if that works :good:

HI sir,
Thank you for your answer. The thing is I've been using android for like 7years now..(en en though I am an IOS dev lol) And all my phones were rooted. I used to install some app that require root ( my favorite is SD maid pro). So I have a weird feeling when my device is not rooted..... (I don't know how to explain it... It's like you take away a baby's favorite activity /toy)
As far as my experience goes with the phone. I love the battery life, it's awesome and the OS is good (if you have time to tweak it a little bit, cause there is a lot of hidden options: An exemple will the the way to control the music player when the screen is off. There is an option for that hidden far in the settings under "smart motion - > smart wake" )
The launcher in the other hand sucks.... I didn't like it that much so I bought Nova launcher pro and I did set it up as my default launcher and tweaked it a lil bit. Now I'm feeling awesome.
As for the fingerprint, it's not accurate and fails because of the screen protector that came already placed on the device. I removed it and re-scanned all my fingers and it's really fast now
Multi-tasking is good but some important app gets killed fast. So you need to tweak again the battery settings so that some app do not get killed on the background
Ow eu.. I also bought the Find X from OPPO. And I must say that Vivo's Os is far better from the find X... The find X will drive you crazy...like for exemple to send a simple sms you need to create an account... Wtf.... It's just a waste of money, really had a bad experience.....
So yeah Vivo v11 pro is a good phone(1000times better than the find X) , if you have the time to search and tweak it cause the default settings sucks.
Is there any person I need to follow to keep up with a possible release of an twrp? (I mean if it is ever going to be released one day cause I'm loosing hope )

I agree on the battery life, SD660 works more efficiently than the flagships 835/845 for my testing and usage and thus better battery life and yes lot of settings are hidden which i've already shared on this thread. I always use Nova on all my setups so that's the first thing i install and restore my setup from the previous device.

For the Finger Print unlock you can club it with Face unlock to make it quick and it will wake up the screen. You can also club it with double tap to wake or raise to wake for the idle unlock when the sitting on the table or a flat surface. As far the app killing is concerned both Vivo/Oppo do it aggressively so as discussed on the thread you need to do the additional auto startup setting and allow high background power consumption in order to let the apps stay in the memory and receive timely notifications.

I felt the same for Find X when i got it and i returned the device within a week due to poor user experience.
Unfortunately the development is really bad when it comes Vivo/Oppo devices as they dont release the sources and neither give development devices away to the community to support development unlike OnePlus which actually does all this to its strength.
You can contact the official TWRP TeamWin over G+ and check for support if atall for this device. Dont expect much is what i can say at this point of time.
If you need the best development support i can recommend OnePlus/Pixel or even Poco F1 for that matter :good:

Thanks bro. I'll just be patient and wait, but you're right it's extremely unlikely that there will be a root for this device.. I was seduced by the phone's Beauty when I saw it at the store  that's why I bought it.
And yes, for One Plus they had a really good business plan. I read an article on why they did succeed. And if I remember correctly "they asked the community what they wanted and how much the community was willing to pay for a good phone"... If I find the link I'll post it here..

I know it all and I have attended lot of OnePlus events.
OnePlus is a community driven brand and that is one of the mean reasons of its success. OP6 is my primary device and I believe in the never settle philosophy

- *.360.cn
- *.cloud.360safe.com
A lot of them on unsecured HTTP port 80 (some go via HTTPS port 443).
Services I've observed this behaviour so far are:
- Samsung ApexService
- ANT+ HAL Service
- Application installer (com.sec.android.preloadinstaller)
- Assistant Menu
- AirCommandManager (com.samsung.android.aircommandmanager)
- Plus too many other default services to list (most of which cannot be disabled)
Phone's running on stock unbranded SM-N960F build number PPR1.180610.011.N960FXXU2CSA2.
I've scanned the phone using bundled Device Care's McAfee security scan with no findings.
Has anyone else observed this behaviour?

I haven't looked at this as closely as you have, but,I'm guessing it's all tied-in from the Device Maintenance section of the phone.
The name of the company Samsung is currently in bed with is QIHOO:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qihoo_360
https://seekingalpha.com/article/4165136-cheetah-mobile-lost-samsung-relevant-risks
Remember/heard of Cheetah Mobile (of Clean Master infamy) ?
https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rel...mobile-security-and-innovation-300043298.html
Well, that's who used to be in partnership w/Samsung & the Device Maintenance aka built-in Clean Master to most,if not all Samsung mobile products.
Fast-Forward to present day & we still have the crapware on our phones, likely scraping info & selling it to anyone interested.
Now,it's just with another company, presumably one with friendlier terms for Samsung.
As you've probably noticed, you can't fully disengage/disable/deny all permissions here, less root (or ADB disabling/package disabler apps).
At least you have a phone that's rootable & can cruise the ROM scene for one that leaves this crap off the phone.
If root isn't an option:
Set up your phone & apps,fine-tune as you like for battery optimization on a per app basis/permissions/etc....
Then, either via ADB or a package disabler, disable the apps responsible for the crapware, especially the ones related to Device Maintenance.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...laxy-note-9-bloatware-removal-thread-t3857508
Follow the link in the OP to the S9/S9+ forum/thread,it gives a better idea of what each .apk actually is/ties into.
Here's the app I use to disable crapware/things I don't use:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wakasoftware.appfreezer
As to which apps to disable, the S9/S9+ thread, while not an exact match, should give you info on what to disable to stop the phone from pinging the 360 mothership & hopefully, not having any ill effects on the apps you want to keep on-board.
If you want a better idea of how each app is interconnected throughout the phone, use these two apps to take a look:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ubqsoft.sec01
SD Maid (Pro):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.sdm&hl=en_US
(See the App Control & file manager sections of SD Maid for detailed app info).
Anyhoo,back to curbing the nonsense:
Whichever method you use to disable, should you choose to do so,start with this one:
com.samsung.android.lool (Device Maintenance).
This will make the entire Device Maintenance section inaccessible as well.
That is why I suggest disabling vs outright uninstalling (which necessitates a factory reset to get it back).
You may need to access Device Maintenance for whatever reason from time to time, hence the recommendation for disabling vs uninstalling.
Continue monitoring for a day or so & see if the pinging to the Mothership subsides,or hopefully puts a full-stop to it.
Please keep us updated on what,if any actions you take w/the results. :good:
Excellent overview, it's quite an eye opener thanks for the info.
I've disabled and force-stopped "com.samsung.android.lool" (amongst other junkware) and so far NetGuard hasn't shown a single network log entry to any of the 360 domains. I've uninstalled all 4 Facebook packages. Continuing to monitor this closely. My thought is that I can re-enable "com.samsung.android.lool" from time to time whenever maintenance is needed and then disable it again. Even better Adhell3 might be useful for blocking "com.samsung.android.lool" network attempts whilst retaining it for device management purposes however I haven't tried this yet.

I was gonna post this in a bit (just noticed it myself this afternoon,LOL) ,but,it looks like you have added the other two .apks to your disabled list:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78103170&postcount=123
It'a a shame the mfgs aren't required to be more up-front & state ,in common use language where the print is larger than a gnat's ass, the exact nature of the .apks & even more control over the services installed on them.

The closest to a manufacturer application list I came across was:
- For example https://docs.samsungknox.com/CCMode/N960F_O.pdf
This seems to relate to computer security certification known as Common Criteria:
So the dial home behaviour seems to have passed this security certification (or perhaps the network flows were not part of the certification process). We can only guess...
I've had to reenable the following items to get APK installs to function (either through Play Store or locally stored APKs):
Code:
com.samsung.android.sm.policy
com.samsung.android.sm.devicesecurity
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...val-thread-t3857508/post78744845#post78744845
Continuing to monitor with NetGuard. So far ~1hr I haven't seen the packets repeat.

IIRC,something like this was mentioned in the S9/S9+ debloat thread.
I didn't mention it earlier as you hadn't reported any issues, but, glad you were able to figure it out/find the same info I'd stumbled upon.
Well after a day of usage I can say that battery life is poorer without "com.samsung.android.lool". I've enabled it again now and blocked its domains via Adhell 3:
Code:
360.cn
360safe.com
*.360.cn
*.360safe.com
Furthermore I have disabled its WiFi and Mobile network access in Adhell 3. However this block is bypassed whenever applications using Android's native VPN facility are switched on so its not absolutely fool proof. Similar blocking can be done using NetGuard itself as long as you keep it switched on and filtering continuously.
I'll keep an eye on which other domains it attempts to contact.

How much of a difference in battery life are we talking about?
It felt to be about 20%. Is Pie without Device Maintenance expected to put applications to sleep? I am guessing sleep is the major factor here (opposed to cleaning up caches and other storage capacity functions of Device Maintenance app).

I would like to think so,hoping Device Maintenance isn't ingrained to the level where it breaks the native Doze feature in Android.
JMHO,Device Maintenance seems to be just like Clean Master, running on top of Android/counterproductive,putting a hat on a hat,so to speak,LOL.
I haven't had a Nexus device since the N6 & never had a Pixel, but,I'm pretty sure none of 'em have DM..................................
Whenever I decide to update to Pie,I'm going to continue as I am now:
Battery Optimize all apps that I don't rely on for auto-updating or push notifications & then disabling Device Maintenance.
If something starts acting up,only then do I re-enable DM,take a look at Battery Optimizing for whatever is affected & again, disabling DM.
Guessing you've just recently updated to Pie.......
If it were me,I'd continue to disable DM & give the new OS upgrade a week or so,see what your battery life looks like then.
Battery life loss could be due to some user-installed apps that aren't playing nice w/Pie & not due to DM being disabled.
You will find the logo or text "powered by 360" on storage screen in Samsung device management app.

I have taken your advise a few weeks ago and have concluded that removing DM whilst manually optimising all individual apps has resulted in no battery loss (in fact it has probably improved but this is within a margin of error). Thanks for your guidance.
Unless you need to connect to a Chinese domain for whatever reason, just block *. cn for good and forever about it.

Can this be a security risk?

Should be only Samsung phones. Interestingly i haven't seen it dial home since my original post and up until i uninstalled the Device Care package. Samsung might have changed the domains the tool dials home to.

[Debload][Bloatware] S21 | S21+ | S21Ultra or any flagship Samsung /Huawei /OnePlus phones

He I will try to advise you how to optimise and debloat your phone for better performance and battery as well as free of bloat device.
I have used this method over the years for my S10 | S10+ | S20+ | S20Ultra | S21Ultra | P40 |P40 Pro and OP8 Pro and many other phones. And works as expected.
Prerequisites:
#1. ADB AppControl
Which can be found here:
[TOOL] ADB AppControl 1.8.0 🚀 Ultimate App Manager & Debloat Tool + Tweaks
ADB AppControl 🚀 Root is not required. Works with any Android device. Can do almost everything you dreamed about with applications. ADB AppControl - the desktop program, that will allow you to easily manage applications on your android device...
forum.xda-developers.com
ADB AppControl - android applications manager and debloat tool. Official website. Free download.
Thanks to @Cyber.Cat for this application of for posting it.
#2. Windows computer or for MAC owners, Parallel Desktop to run Windows
#3. Android phone which you want to optimise
Steps for debloating bloatware:
#1. Download and install ADB AppControl from the above link
#2. Activate Developer Options: go to Settings >> About phone >> Software information >> tap 7 times on Build Number
#3. in Developer Options enable USB debugging mode
#4. Open ADB AppControl
#5. Connect your phone to your computer
#6. Allow USB connect message on your phone several times until ADB AppControl shows connect message on top
#7. Chose what applications you would like to disable or uninstall (i recommend you disable them not uninstall)
#8. From bootom right corner in ADB AppControl chose Disable option
#9. Check the box to delete cache and data [it is on top where you chosed Disable option at the previous step]
#10. Press Apply
#11. Confirm that you agree to disable the selected apps on the popup message which will appear
#12. Unplug your phone from the computer
#13. Shut down the phone
#14. Connect the phone again to your computer [being closed]
#15. Quick press Volume button + Volumne Up button until you see on your screen the logo
#16. Release the buttons
#17. Now you are into the phone recovery
#18. Chose the option to clear cache [NOT phone reset] with your power buttons
#19. Select the option to clear cache by presing the power button
#20. Chose restart phone
E voila.
There is no miracle bloatware list. It depends from phone to phone.
Being on a S21 series forum I will post what I debloated for my S21Ultra SM-G998B device.

So, Im trying to figure out a way to safely disable the Samsung Dialer. Ive already installed the google dialer but I broke the calls when i uninstalled it the first time. Im trying to figure out which package is the one to disable. Trying to remove as much Samsung as possible
Good to see this Debloat for the OnePlus, etc....
Excuse me, I´m totally new to the package disabling and I´m really looking forward to get it working on my new S21 Ultra. Could somebody please take some time, and explain to me what does it do and if the apps will still work even after disabling? (For example the bixby voice wakeup was disabled as seen in the screenshot, will my phone be able to get awaken via Bixby if it is disabled?)
Secondly I´d like to ask you if there is some sort of "best" list of packages to disable. I really want to maximize the battery life and performance of my device since it´ll be my inevitable workstation for couple of months.
Kind regards!
If you are new to this and your device will be an inevitable workstation for a couple of months I would wait with the most crazy debloat.
You can only disable things you know of, if you disable bixby bixby wont work, at all.
Hi everyone, if I do an OTA update the process will reinstall debloated apps?

No.
You can double check by seeing number of installed apk in settings.
But I never had a problem with debloated app reinstalling.

Hello all, it has been sometime since I rooted my phone / removed all the extra crap lol.
Is there a way to know what each Items do?
I know in the past the roms would be debloted and you had a stock rom and had the option to add what you wanted.
Thank you
Nice start with original post. I'm also looking for any further explanation or categorization of s21+ bloat please?
If uninstalled, can app be reinstalled manually from play store if desired later?
What phone is best for clean customizable ROM now?
Guessing Pixel series, but what else... OnePlus?
I've custom rom'd my s3 to s8, but now want to have Netflix working on my s21. Just don't want apps I never use taking up space and populating the share menu options, etc.

There are a couple of apk's who can drain battery if you deleted them.
I don't remember their name but if you debolat them the phone won't get into deep sleep....
But you can always double check if the phone enters deep sleep by installing CPU Spy from Play Store.
Just a little headsup on two packages you should NEVER disable!
Device Services (com.samsung.android.kgclient) - If you disable this, you will LOCK YOURSELF OUT of your phone (Error 3020). Chances are good to recover from this if you have TWRP installed or USB debugging always enabled. Otherwise a factory reset is the only solution. Nevertheless, this is a core component and WILL cause problems if disabled.
Device Security (com.samsung.android.sm.devicesecurity) - If you disable this, app installations will take significantly longer (about 5x). Not sure why, but better leave it.
In general, if you are not 100% sure what a package does, leave it! Even if someone on the internet says "I disabled it and had no problems"... There is a high possibility that you don't achieve optimization by disabling, but crippling your device and creating lots of errors in the background you don't know about (thus using more battery).
As far as I can tell, the list in the OP seems reasonable though.
@AllAboutTech Might be helpful for beginners if you add those 2 warnings to the OP.

You can always use ADB to re-enable apps, as long as you just disabled them (not uninstalled).
Connect to your phone via ADB and use the following command:
adb shell pm enable <package_name>
// Edit: I guess the ADB AppControl from the OP also allows to re-enable apps.
If you have uninstalled system apps, some of them might be re-installable via Play / Galaxy Store, but definitely not all.

That's strange. I always delete both of these without any poblems.
Device Security it's part of the Macfee antivirus thingy options.
I always get rid of because I think Play Protect does the job.
When I delete this all that's happens is that the Security Option is gone from Device Care Settings.
And I don't get those anyoing security notifications about enable it.
No problem with app install.
As for kgclient that's part of the Samsung Payment Service, I have never had any problems with deleting it.
That said, I have never used Samsung Pay.
Im on S21 Ultra european model unbranded right now.

No I haven't encrypted it, also I don't use Secure Folder.
Maybe this has something to do with Knox Vault on encrypted phones?
Samsung Pay is also a part of the Knox vault.

How To Guide Stop vivo spyware with app ops

I've tried everything possible to stop vivos spyware, namely cim.vivo.pushservice and com.vivo.abe (plus maybe some others but the main one clearly is push service - whatever you do interacting with your phone shortly after push service tries (because I blocked it's internet access with Adguard) to contact some Chinese servers.
Edit: For app ops to work reliably you need to debloat com.vivo.devicereg first. Also remove com.vivo.abe and other apps for best results first - see here for list: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...al-battery-drain.4544851/page-5#post-88459025
You cannot debloat it, you cannot freeze it, there is no normal way to remove it from starting as you cannot simply restrict it from running as it runs on user 1000.
However what you can do, though only with app ops is to simply remove it access to any system content by providing fake zero content (ignore). Actual denying is also not possible.
I'm attaching a screenshot on how to set it up and I don't know which actual setting works, but something does work because for the first time I'm using this device it's not trying to connect to the internet anymore. This should also substantially improve battery life.

You need to activate system and system framework apps to show it. By default they are hidden.
It's quite crazy how many times different vivo apps access location and contacts. Well enough other apps are pretty annoying in accessing fine location so app ops is a great tool to cut down on requests by apps (yes usually a power manager would restrict the apps a bit, but as we have to remove vivo.pem to receive notifications app ops is the answer)
If you setup an island with islands app, it's pretty crazy how fast the vivo system starts requesting access to loads of stuff. Maybe because I forbid internet access to the vivo spyware it kept on going crazy? Well clearly by default this system send everything, and yeah really everything straight to Chinese servers when it comes to location, contacts, messages, phone log, system settings and so on. You cannot even deny this but it's great that android now provides the ignore function which will return empty information instead.
This one is especially terrifying. I guess the service gathers all the data it gives to push service to send to China... Put it on ignore straight away.
App ops is available on Google play, installation needs shizuku too which is a bit complicated and needs restarting after reboot of system. However most settings should survive a reboot (I have to try and monitor this), best make a backup and yeah totally worth it to buy the full version. There is no single other app that I tried which worked and the auto restore feature is only available in full version. Also some more other stuff.
I'm thinking if I should remove all accounts and try the device owner mode. Clearly this will be the first thing I will do on any new phone or hard reset. Put shizuku as owner so it can autostart
App Ops - Permission manager - Apps on Google Play
Manage app permission with App Ops (require root or adb)
play.google.com
Edit/Update.
Vivo using system user 1000 is problematic because somehow you cannot set some/many permissions per app but only per user. It's hard to see when this applies and when not.
So both of this apps which are core parts of the spyware armada will share/influence the android system permission on location. Clearly debloat would be better but impossible without root.
You cannot directly set it here - and that's the problem. It's even not possible in the log to tell which user 1000 app requested location as somehow it will always show android system...
Some things I do not know yet - because I didn't use it long enough.
Does Vivo rotten oranges tries to overwrite the settings? MIUI seemingly does and there is a restore mode especially for it.
Some reviews mention that the backup/import option does not work for System apps. I don't know if this was fixed or not (seems to have been okay 2-3 years ago - maybe downgrade if that is so).
Do you need the app? No you could do this manually or even write a batch as its all app ops set commands. But that would be way way more complicated than using the app (and the free version does most things already).
I hope by seeing the body sensors log I managed to eliminate the offending apps like Phone that accessed them and cause the phone to lose battery while on the go like crazy.
Which apps should you set to ignore everything?
Well foremost those that we would all like to uninstall and remove but cannot.
com.vivo.abe, push notifications service, com.android.phone (and use a different dialler app instead - the default phone must be spyware infused to the top as it becomes active all of the time without being in use and replaced in my case with google phone already), the numbermark stuff, vivo locationservices,
Youtube Revanced - Fine Location - should you use it. I don't know why it keeps on requesting this all the time. Put it on ignore or Deny to save battery (seems to be a bit badly programmed)
Multi Device Connectivity (don't know what this thing does, but it requests loads of data/wakeups and so on - maybe part of the spyware suite? For Sure remove it from Fine Location)
AiEnginge,Aiservices.
Controversial: Should you remove location access to Android System? I think it can save battery but not sure if some apps break some functionality?
com.vivo.devicereg (this one is quite active too - I'm not sure if we should put everything on ignore here too).
And yeah - I'm 99.99% positive the China Spyware is tracking your location 100% of the time. So it's not only some metadata, contacts, call data, messages, clipboard content and app filtering - but also your location. Now is this collected by Vivo for its own good, or for the Chinese government? I don't care I don't want either and I pretty much thing the way it works is several services gathering all that data - and most like vivo push notifications (haha fitting name) pushing this info to Chinese servers.
And yeah - seeing how many access rights are given to various system apps is not normal! I compared this to my Huawei P30 Pro and Galaxy S7 and both have much much less permissions given (a bit problematic as earlier Android versions aren't so detailled). Plus without app ops you don't even know about this! The stock permission management just hides all the system framework apps so you never know!
BTW - If you identify any app that requests a lot of stuff like location or contacts and you do not know why it should - try to debloat it because that's always the better solution. com.vivo.multinlp - Vivo Location Services can be debloated.
Same for Multi Device Connectivity: com.vivo.connbase
The rest of the apps above (except phone which breaks functionality if debloated) - cannot be debloated. So that's when you use App Ops instead. It's always safer using app ops vs fully uninstalling/disabling an app from a standpoint about breaking something. However for battery use most likely uninstalling via adb is the better solution. I decided to remove those two apps, but a more conservative approach is to simply remove their access to sensitive data.
Someone knows why google play services needs access to body sensors?
I'm attaching my current profile - not sure if you can import it without having the same debloat level as on my phone (which is pretty extensive - I have 77 apps uninstalled and 11 disabled. Yeah and most of that are services/system apps (very few a pre installed user apps).
Need to remove the txt ending on the backup to import.
Oh I think the reviews are right, the backup doesn't include settings for system apps. That a bummer. Kinda makes the backup/import function useless.
Now it clearly would make more sense if one could create a huge bash/batch file to do all of these app ops commands. I clearly don't know how to do that simply? Yeah finding out what changed is possible with dumpsys....
Battery life improved loads on first try, but then somehow I managed to destroy the Bluetooth connection by removing permissions somewhere too much. Also I had the phone in vibration mode overnight which kills all notifications and is like airplane mode light.
It's really horrible software design by vivo that vibration mode kills all notifications with screen off.
The only thing to achieve actual vibration mode is turning volume down to 0. I really cannot get who can program such a lousy thing.
I don't know why but location is constantly requested by something and I highly doubt it's actually android system!
Sadly Vivo system like MIUI seems to reset the restrictions all the time. So you need shizuku running all the time to restore the settings..
Especially com.vivo.abe restores it's permissions several times daily and as soon as that happens battery life goes **** again in idle and spyware starts working again...
It's super frustrating but essentially this phone had rubbish software that isn't fixable. It can be improved as many settings aren't reset but the spyware tries everything it can to restore itself overwriting system settings all the time.
Oh and push notifications also sends out data to fixed IP addresses in China that cannot be prevented.
Location is accessed like crazy by all the spyware.
Thats the main killer because it's permanently checking location if you don't disable location system wide.
At least down from 15.000 requests to 9000 thanks to app ops.
Hi @extremecarver, any updates on this? I appreciated what you have done so far to investigate this issue.
The problem I'm facing right now is, the idle drain is too much for me. With plane mode on during 6 hour night, it lost 3%. With normal 3g-4g signal (no data), it drains about 1% per hour, sometimes 2%. That means if I go to work and let my phone sit there for a whole day without touching anything, then it will lose 8%-16%. That's crazy numbers.
I also found that, googlemap (with gps+4g) can kill battery very quickly. Usually, I drive to work in 30 mins and it drops 6%, i.e, 1% per 5 mins. With the same use, the s22 ultra drops just under 3%.
And if I use the phone normally such as web browsing, facebook, instagram, tiktok, even taking photos then it drains very very normally as other phones do.
I have the s22 ultra and I can say that the battery on s22 ultra is much better than vivo. It's understandable because it has been optimized for a year now. With the s22 ultra and with the same using pattern, I can easily get 8 hours SoT, while the vivo can barely get it to 5-6 hours.
Pretty sad because this x90 pro+ camera is better than the s22 ultra in many aspects, easier to hold in hand (s22 ultra is too hard to reach the edge of the phone and too heavy) although I don't like both curve screens. I don't have many problems with the notifications because I mainly use messenger and gmail and that's all.
So hopefully, someone can find out the way to fix those excessive battery drain or Vivo can release some updates to solve this problem in the future.
Dear All,
i'm not sure if mine could be a good solution or not but i'm using nextdns service and it basically blocks all or almost all vivo and others brand spyware without installing any apps.
it's very quick and easy to activate, just enable dns privato in network settings and write your dns resolver url.
i hope it could be helpful.

Yes by removing virtually any rights on any app/service that I don't think needs it - I could solve the battery drain.
However now I cannot use the telephone to make calls (passive receving calls still works), and I seem not to be able to update to the new trial software because it isn't found.
Now the problem with App Ops is - I cannot quickly return all rights to update the software - as the backup/import function does not work with system apps.
This phone is just one thing, Crap, crap, crap, crap, crap. Not a single day I don't want to use a hammer and trash it. It's simpy virtually impossible to fix the crapware/spyware of this phone.

No it doesn't - it can only block apps, not even some system services - and only if they connect to a website, not if they connect to an IP address!
I have written about stopping spyware with DNS services already - this stops some sending of data - but doesn't help at all when it comes to battery drain. There will still be 20.000 events or so per day (which is a crazy amount) of the china spyware logging your location (and yeah mostly high accuracy, not low accuracy), trying to connect to chinese servers and other problems that you can only discover via Shizuku.
And NextDNS is not the right solution at all. I think even Adguard is a bit more efficient for this. The best one is Rething DNS+ - it's the only app that can block all system services (but then you cannot use another app for ad filtering like Adaware/Adguard).
This menu is not accessible via settings... But it exists
Needs to be accesses via activity launcher.
Actually private DNS exists too but is hidden by Vivo like so many other privacy related settings.. this OS is so rotten they try to hide everything that improves privacy...
Likely everything you write with Vivo secure keyboard has preferential upload to China servers
(This last one is sarcasm without proof, but don't believe anything this OS tells you about privacy because logs tell you it's lying)
Some more stuff of which a lot is hidden and not accessible
Go f**k standard vivo settings menu. The only problem is the real android settings menu is missing the search function. But it's feature complete (except the stuff Vivo really removed from Android which isn't too much.. mostly they just removed it from the settings menu)
This phone is a absolute garbage. Seems vivo blocks shizuku after some days of using it.
Found a Chinese tutorial on bilibili on what to do to solve it but that doesn't work anymore either.
Now vivo Push notifications spyware tries to send again notifications at a rate of 10-20 every second...
Basically the phone is a brick now, draining battery faster and faster with pushware and Abe having restored their permissions...
Also I cannot use ADB Appcontrol anymore - as it doesn't get permission (removing/restoring permission for ACBBridge didnt help).
I also activated Force Activity Resizeable in the developer options but that didn't change a thing... ( I think this only applies to apps that cannot get the pairing code via notifications and need the code entered in splitscreen - as if you switch screen the code is renewed)

Any updates on this @extremecarver?
I'm using this and what I see so far is the battery drain cut down to around 5% overnight (6 hours). With plane mode ON, it lost about 3% in 6 hours, not too bad for me. However, when put it there on my desk when I'm working (with 4g signal covered, no data), for 8 hours it sucked around 10%, and with wifi on that number is around 20%. My old Huawei Mate 20 and S22U can do even better than this (just around 5% without wifi, and 10-15% with wifi).
In addition, I also found that the battery drain when using GPS on this phone is too much for me. Just 1 hour and it sucked about 12% with 4G data ON.
Yes - in order to really cut the battery drain you need to remove much more permissions. The problem is that Vivo restores them - you could try to restrict that but modifying "modify restricted settings/ files" or something similar - but maybe that is how I locked myself out.
You can go into the "keep awake" and "run in background" and put ignore on everything you think that is not absolutely needed. Android 12 and above should not use this keep awake but Vivo apparently does.
Then you culd restrict body sensor data to more apps/services.
But yes as long as there is no way to really remove vivo.abe and vivo push notifications the battery drain is not fixable. Then of course the modem sucks - and uses way too much power. That one is either hardware rubbish or software mess up. I rather guess a rubbish modem.
The worst is battery drain while outdoors doing sports without being in airplane mode even if you disable any access to body sensors for all apps normally (use "device Info" app for this to actually get to all services, then app ops for removing even more.

The phone is good overall, camera, design, performance, but the battery drain is destroying those good points. Not sure if vivo will fix this in the future or not, but my S22U did take more than 6 months to get some first stable updates, and it's super stable right now at 1 year.
Well I cannot call any phone good if it's basic functions like notifications and spyware are rubbish like hell - causing battery drain without end. And yeah - without root you can make it a bit better but cannot fix it. With root if would be quite doable (as long as Vivo doesn't introduce any killswitch like disabling stuff once vivo.abe or push notification service is uninstalled). Root for running adb commands would be enough. But vivo actively disabled this by making many apps removable only for user 1000.
ok so it seems no way to fix the rubbish battery life.
this thread convinced me to sell the phone for a s23 ultra, the battery life differences are huge given only the 300mah battery.
Very good phone ruined by battery life, I don't even care at this point about camera and other specs, I expected good battery life from a sd gen 2 with 4700 mah but i was clearly wrong.
My 1st and last vivo phone, too bad i'll lose tons of money now because is vivo is a no name here.
You lose tons of money everywhere as soon as you cannot return a Vivo phone anymore...
Btw, can someone show what permissions are on Android system by default?
I wonder if I'm missing some (screenshot from device info):
I never directly removed a permission from Android system, but I removed permissions from apps running as well on system.uid user, and sometimes they interact, sometimes they don't. Vivo really messed up the permissions because it's not possible to cleanly change permissions.
If you see the permissions given to push notifications it's anyhow clear than restricting any permissions to vivo apps to stop them to spy on you is like fighting windmills, because push notifications just about has any permission imaginable even after removing some with app ops. Here are the permissions left over from push notifications after removing any possible with app ops app.
Found the error why I couldn't access adb anymore. Shell system app somehow had all rights removed. Fixed it by exporting the apk and reinstalling it. Not locked out anymore and can use app ops again...
Strange thing though - on reboot shell went missing again. Not sure what the crap deletes shell on reboot. I'm pretty sure that's some kind of vivo killswitch if you remove rights via app ops commands from it's spyware.
