Question Redmi 9T Differences - Redmi 9 Power / 9T

Hello,
I have a Redmi 9T (lime) device. But unfortunately no ROM has been made for lime. What happens if I install ROMs for Juice or Chime?
For example, it is stated as lime in this, but when I want to download it, chime appears. Is it okay?
Project Elixir
projectelixiros.com

Up.

Up.

There is no major differences.
1. For Poco - 1 camera less, may lead to instability of stock camera, not more, gcam anyway.
2. For any - no nfc/nfc, no problem on hardware without nfc, but won't work at all on roms built without nfc support.

Ok so I hardened my heart and installed elixer on my Redmi 9T(Lime) and it went pretty bad (luckily my phone survived).
1. The unofficial recoveries are not stable enough and I had a lot of trouble due to encryption
2. After messing around I was able to install the rom (have to try 2-3 different recoveries)
3. After successful installation the phone was stuck in a bootloop
4. I gave up at that time and just flashed the stock rom
So conclusion is that there might not be major difference on the surface but I think at firmware level there are difference

Ok forget about my previous comment I was an idiot..
So the bootloop was because of encryption and today I was able to flash elixer on my redmi 9T (LIME)
So back to your question whats the difference and that is none, I will explain why:
1. The phones Poco M3, Redmi power, redmi 9t lime, lemon, 4G, etc are same and are given a unified code name Juice or Chime depending on the firmware vendor used by the developer of the custom rom.
2. Chime codename custom roms are using OSS vendor which is opensource and is supported for a longer period of time but is not stable yet
3. Juice codename custom roms are using MIUI Stoch vendor firmware which is obviously developed by xiaomi and is very stable
you can flash any chime or juice rom in your phone as long as you follow the developers guide properly because there are very high chances that you will run into encryption issues because recoveries dont support androind 11 or up decryption.

I am using Elixer OS 3.3 and its quite stable, you can try, the only issue I found is with recoveries and once the Elixer rom is booted its pretty stable for daily use

If I have encryption problems, I will not be able to install a custom rom ? and that's the only way to brick the device ?

As long as you dont lock the bootloader you can recover from most of the situations, you can still install the rom, encryption issue occurs when you dont follow the rom maintainers instructions while installing the rom, flashing the stock firmware will reset the process and you have to start again from step 1

I have an ignorant question. Been thinking about this since yesterday.
I know the NFC equipped R9T are region dependant, but just recently Google Wallet is now available in my region and also supporting NFC contactless payments with select banks. The R9T in my region are being sold without NFC. A global variant Redmi 9T for Malaysian market.
My silly question is, is it possible for us to obtain the NFC hardware or get it from a donor R9T phone that has it, and then install it in the phone and make it working? Like plug and play?
I assume it's very, very impossible... But assuming it cannot, why tho? Is there a permanent restriction hard-coded into the phone due to region dependant?

Looking for a *stable* ROM

Hey guys!
I'm a very recent owner of Mi 9T Pro (less than 24h remaining until unlock becomes available). I'm also a recent consumer (if that's the right word for it) in the custom ROM scene. About a week ago I decided to check out LineageOS 16.0 on my old (Android 4.4.2) phone, and I was blown away by the performance improvement. It really gave my old device a second wind.
So when it comes to my new Mi 9T Pro, the long term strategy is almost certainly to install the official version of LineageOS 17.0 as soon as it becomes available (if at all and boy do I hope it does). However, since the official release might be (as I understand) several months away, it leaves me with a time window to use some other ROM until then. I've checked out LineageOS 16, 17, HavocOS 2.8, 3.0 & Pixel Experience ROM threads in this forum. It appears they all have some or other issues.
And this is where I was hoping to get a suggestion from you guys. What I'm interested in is the most stable ROM currently available for this phone. To be more clear, I'll illustrate what I mean by "stable":
1) Novelty not required.
It doesn't have to be Android 10 necessarily. Stability > novelty.
2) Most commonly used features take precedence.
I would certainly prefer a lag-less UI and no issues with signal reception over working NFC and Bluetooth audio (all 4 issues seem to appear with some regularity in mentioned threads).
Well, that's basically it, I hope you get the gist of it. If not I'll be glad to clarify further.
Just to be clear, I'm really not looking for a perfect solution where there is none. Just the least painful one. MIUI is not an option.
Thank you!
P.S. Sorry if this is a dup. I only managed to find a handful of outdated questions (~2 months old) which had very little engagement to begin with.
I use crDroid 5.8 (5.9 build does not work with global fw &vendor) and all the android 10 ROMs besides LOS 17 have broken NFC and BT .. And los 17 is also not perfect. Slows down after a while. We just have to wait till every K20 Pro / Mi 9T Pro version gets stable MIUI 11. Right now android 10 is not daily drive ready.
I'm using Résurrection Remix with the same build for over 2 month (the last one), and i dont have any bug.
I'm dtarting to have some troubleshootings after 2-3 weeks and it only require to restart to get fixed.
Also i'm not a big user of the phone so at the end of the day there is 70% battery left!

First of all, thank you for your input!
But what about Android 9 based ROMs like LOS16, Havoc-OS 2.8, Pixel Experience etc.? Wouldn't they be more stable based on the fact that Android 9 was already out (for quite some time) when K20 Pro was released? And also because the developers have simply had more time to iron out the issues?

I have basically tried every rom there is on this forum, and multiple vendors, roms later, i can suggest that EvolutionX, Pixel experience plus (pie are both pretty stable. But they have minor issues. Definitely daily driver material.
But! in my suggestion, if you could stick to a debloated MIUI. It would be hassle free.
Pros for using the stock rom.
Fingerprint sensor works faster
Doesn't break safetynet, so.. google pay support.
widevine L1 in other cases.
And most importantly, the camera functionality doesnt break

Thank you very much for your (somewhat unexpected) suggestion!
To be honest, I hadn't really considered debloating, but I will most certainly look into it. Are there some preferred debloating solutions out there?

Follow the steps in the Removing Bloatwares in Locked/Unlocked Bootloader part of the first post in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/redmi-k20-pro-firmware-10-3-8-0-9-6-13-t3939647
True, MIUI has way faster and better fingerprint recognition than all custom roms. Sadly I hate MIUI look and feel...
If you want to give MIUI a try, install the xiaomi eu ROM, which is pretty clean and without much preinstalled stuff.
Best is not to use the custom ROMs with ALL the features, since those ROMs are more laggy and buggy.
So if custom ROMs, try android 9 based. I will flash android 10 again only after 2-3 builds which use MIUI 11 firmware and vendor, since I do have a global K20 Pro/ Mi 9T Pro and don't want to lose DRM L1 or NFC by flashing IN or CN fw and vendor. Because most android 10 ROMs require MIUI 10 android 10 fw and vendor (and there is no global MIUI 10 android 10 fw & vendor)
So depends after all, how much you hate MIUI.
I flashed a custom ROM because of the following things
clean stock UI
no gapps
better everyday performance

And i forgot to mention... Always format data before rebooting.. format data is different from wipe data.. keep that in mind..
You should stick to the process.. it should go flawlessly..

Question What is the best MIUI stock rom ?

Hello everyone I would like to ask a few questions and know your opinion on the different stock versions of the redmi note 10 pro which one would advise me. which would be the most stable with the fewest bugs. I ask you this because I am afraid to reinstall twrp having already bricked my phone once. I had to go through unbrick.ru it's expensive for a simple unlocking I want to say
Indonesian version with long temporary update and stable, but now i stick with miui Pulse.
As long as you thoroughly follow a up-to-date, precise guide on how to flash TWRP and then flash a new ROM, you should be good. Just don't do something tricky with your phone if you have a doubt and that you don't know. Stock MIUI ROMs are, in my opinion, not as good as Xiaomi.eu ROMs or AOSP based ROMs. You'll have to debloat everything, there'll be ads in system apps and less features (depends on the region). Really, you should try flashing TWRP and use Xiaomi.eu. Moreover, a "brick" can in most cases be solved because, if a ROM flash doesn't work as it should, or even something else, you still have your TWRP to fix your phone.
(of course, don't do it if you know you're not attentive enough and that you won't be following guides steps minutely)

MIUI 12.5.1 is great in my point of view and very easy to operate.

Question Is there no OS that really stable for this phone?!

I've tried MIUI 12 and 13, they're both trash!! There must be some shortage for each version!! Even the last version of MIUI 12!! Come on Xiaomi!!
Actually I like the hardware, but the OS???!!!
Any body could give me a suggestion for which OS is the most stable??
MMX custom rom, debloated, still based on MIUI
i m Wait pixel experience stock rom without root.
If u want performace, i will suggest oxygen os or if u have a low end phone, you can try roms of other devices having same chipset as yours. but u need to modify them a bit.
MIUI is terrible, yeah.
I recently switched to PixelExperience GSI and it's pretty good.
Auto brightness is a bit finicky and logging into your Google account can be annoying if you use SMS for 2FA, because SMS don't work by default (it's just one switch in settings).
But there are no crashes and it's way less buggy than stock.

GSIs (Generic System Images) are universal for all devices supporting Treble. All devices released with Android 9 and later are required to support it.
"Classic" ROMs are built for specific device only.

The last Stock miui 12.5 is the most stable and bug free IME.
I'm using Pixel Experience ROM, downloaded from the official Pixel Experience site, it's android 13, it's a pure Android experience and works smoothly. BUT Bluetooth audio and IMs Services doesn't work, despite that it's a pretty reliable ROM! I'm loving it!

I think you don't know how hard I had to look after a at least working ROM for this phone.
And I'll say, it was a lot. This PE ROM is the best and stablest from the Custom ROMs that ain't Modded MIUI and ain't GSI.
So I keep my comment, PE , right know is the best and stablest Custom ROM for Redmi Note 10s, even though it has some features missing.

I would give an ETA if I didn't have these assignments overwhelming me. Otherwise, I also am suffering from the bugs I myself have, on which I'm working whenever I can of course. IMS seems like an easy fix as all I think I need is the APK from MIUI 12.5. Otherwise, I suspect BT media will be harder to handle.
Another bug I was reported and could confirm was offline charging just like on all GSI ROMs so yeah, lots to fix, lots to tinker around.

"Your device must be on bootloader version 12.5.16.0.RKLMIXM / 13.x.x.x.SKLMIXM... The current bootloader version can be checked by running the command getprop ro.bootloader in a terminal app or an adb shell from a command prompt (on Windows) or terminal (on Linux or macOS) window."
The Warning sign says "12.5.16.0.RKLMIXM / 13.x.x.x.SKLMIXM" So I'd recommend you install the global version first, and then de PE ROM, but I think you could do it right away, from your Indian MIUI.
I myself had the Indian MIUI, but I messed a lot with the phone and ended up with the Global MIUI. My path was changed to ARCANE MIUI, LitE MIUI (both custom MIUI) and then back to global and then Pixel Experience since my device bootlooped after I depleted my battery one day.
Complementing the PE ROM again, my battery depleted one day and I just put it to recharge then everything worked as it should. (Traumatized by MIUI bootloops)

Well for now iam on V13.0.3.0 SKLINXM Android 12. Would it be fine if I just install pixel recovery and then just install the pe rom. What's your thoughts on battery life of pe13 rom is it good like miui 13 or so and what are the major bugs.

I'm using it since launch and it's holding down pretty good. The percentage drops "faster" (not a huge thing) apparently, but the phone withstand better on the latest 10%, I've noticed. And overall it lasts a whole day, and a bit of the next day morning (daily use, not gaming or any heavy task). If gaming, or some heavy task as, music, camera, video/photo editing, it drains more, but nothing out of the ordinary.
I will wait for it to be more stable for now or I'll try the final build.1 last thing to ask iam on miui 13.0.3.0 SKLINXM how should I go for installation of pe13 rom on my 10s? Plz let me know.
thanks.

Before I answer your question I'll ask something off topic. Does your phone gets some audio stuttering when listening to music?
Now to the question. First I ask to you, do you have a unlocked bootloader? Are you using any Custom Recovery?
Well i do get some stuttering when I listen songs on speaker. No i haven't unlocked my bootloader yet but i do have permissions of unlock.and iam on stable miui 13 v13.0.3.0 A12 Indian varient rom
Perfect. Before we start I want to say, I'm no professional, I'm just a enthusiastic user LOL.
First thing to do is backup your sensitive data (so much important)
Then unlock your bootloader, you can use the official ways (MI Bootloader Unlocker), no need to seek the MTK tool way, that is used for bricked phones and to avoid the timer.
After that you can use official MiFlash Tool to flash the Global MIUI 13 ROM. JUST REMEMBER TO CHECK in the inferior right side "flash_all" not the "flash_all_lock" otherwise you'll relock your phone after the flashing process (a huge pain).
Then I'd recommend installing a custom Recovery such as TWRP os Orange Fox (googling you'll find how to do, it's a 4 steps process, but you can find guides out there)
Then follow the PE guide on how to install, and you're good to go!

Full guide on how to install custom recovery plus custom rom

Hello there, i am using redmi note 9/10x 4g currently on miui 13 Android 12 and I wanted to install a custom rom in it.. so anyone could please give me a full guide on start to end.. i have already unlocked my bootloader and k want to install a custom recovery and after that a custom rom.. so please someone give me a full guide for this miui version..
Thanks in advance..
First of all, it depends on what ROM you would like to use. I use Project Elixir which is based on Pixel Experience. The maintainer is no longer active so you rely on yourself. The newest 3.4 version requires MIUI 12.5.4 Global (or EEA if you end up with a soft brick) as it's based on the R vendor rather than the S vendor. You can find all other information either on the GitHub or Telegram group. (Yes, feels weird to use Telegram) Here's the quick guide https://github.com/ProjectElixir-Devices/Wiki/blob/tiramisu/merlinx.md
Redmi Note 9 has a codename merlinx in this case as there's already a Motorola phone with a codename merlin and many people were fooled and got their phones hard bricked. Since this is a MediaTek chipset, you don't have any A/B partitions. If you don't follow the guide or flash the required firmware, you will end up with a beautiful error, maybe even a permanent one. The easiest way for me to flash the ROM from the crdroid recovery was the ADB Sideload method as my SD Card wasn't picked up by the recovery. Make sure you have a reliable USB connection that won't get interrupted during the update. You may find a lot of missing stuff and glitches in the ROM like purple battery indicator when in landscape mode, random freezes, a stock battery widget is broken (Android 13 build issue in general) and so more. There's no custom battery indicator when charging on a full shutdown. You will have a default MIUI one.
