Question Esim / Mexico - Google Pixel 7

I need an eSim for Telcel or AT&T mexico
I keep reading conflicting information in regarding to esim. I will be buying a Google Pixel 7. Im currently on T-mobile, but here in Mexico I only get 5GB of high speed data per month. I'm looking to get an eSim to use the local Telcel or AT&T here in Mexico on prepaid.
My question is can I setup phone to use T-Mobile in USA only and Telcel/AT&T only in Mexico?
FYI - I live in Tijuana but work in San Diego.

While I can't answer your exact question I can tell you i was in similar situation when traveling for extended time throughout Mexico. As of last February I bought a prepaid physical SIM off of Amazon and put it in an unlocked iphone and it worked well.

[Q] Nexus One & prepaid data plan for U.S.

Hello,
i'm going to U.S. for holidays and i'd like to have a prepaid sim for my nexus for the month i will stay there.
Reading here and there i found that my europen nexus probably won't work on 3g AT&T, right?
So the only option i found is T-Mobile, that seems to have a prepaid sim card on which i can activate the data option, altough on their site i read "Already have a T-Mobile Prepaid phone that you need to activate?" i think it will work on my nexus too, or am i wrong?
Any help will be appreciated
Your european one i think could be either. Both the AT&T and T-Mobile ones (here) work on 2100Mhz for Europe so no way to tell. I think however that yours would be the T-mobile version since those were released first.
Anyways, there is Simple Mobile and other prepaid carriers that you just pop your SIM card into the phone and you are good to go. TMobile has $70 Unlimited talk/text (2GB data) and Simple Mobile has $60 Unlimited everything.
Simple Mobile uses T-Mobile's network still so same coverage as T-Mobile.
If it can help mine is an amoled one... so sure of the first released.
Maybe i can ask in the shop if they make me try a sim card to see if it works...
Simple Mobile, ok i've found that online and saw the prices, really good, hope to find a shop somewhere in NY where i land on the first day.
Thanks!
They don't really have Simple Mobile stores but you should be able to get a SIM from those little shops they have in NY. Just check online for the locator for somewhere to buy the SIM as lots of places sell the reloads but not the SIM.
Thanks for the tips, i'll look for the sim in the shops, will find one with the sim cards too
Just go with T-Mobile itself. They have a prepaid data day pass, $1.50/day.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I didn't see that option, thanks, just seen on their site, it's interesting.
Just hope that my nexus will work... in the specs i see UMTS 900/2100, so it should be T-Mobile frequencies
Maybe this can help someone in the future...
My Nexus work fine with T-Mobile, i made the daily plan 1.49$ a day for unlimited data.
Works like a charm in NYC, i'm having some problem in the south of USA now, but in the big cities it work well.
Thanks for the tips!
I have been using a N1 on T-Mobile on the $30/month for 1500 minutes/texts and 30MB of data. With Google Maps I soon burnt up the data and have purchased $1.45/day for unlimited data as I have needed it.
The phone works fine on TM - can't say that TM's network is that good though (this is in the San Francisco Bay Area) with regular dropped calls and data falling back to Edge quite often.

[Q] Best way to get a SIM traveling to Asia

All,
Planning to travel to Asia in 2 months (Hong Kong then Thailand). Was wondering is it easier just to pick up a SIM card in the airport or in the country when I land or buy one of those International SIM card company ie ONESIMCARD http://www.onesimcard.com/ or (gulp) buy a International roaming package from AT&T. My most important is occasional phone(rare) most important is Data ie maps, search, emails etc....
I have a Dev Edition HTC One btw and with At&t as my carrier.
You're better off getting a local SIM especially since you'll be using data. You can usually get a very good rate on unlimited data (where I live, a prepaid, unlimited LTE plan runs you about 25 USD for a whole month but it might be a bit pricier in Hong Kong). Not sure if they'll offer SIM cards with unlimited data at the airport though so your best bet is to head to a local carrier store upon arrival and get your data SIM there.

[Q] newbie question, AT&T or TMO Moto X outside US

Hey all,
Hope this is in the right place. Saw a few similar questions, but nothing exactly like what I was looking for.
I currently have a VZW Galaxy Nexus, rooted, running Shiny ROM with Xposed and GravityBox. Thinking about dumping VZW and going to a Moto X on AT&T or TMO, both prepaid. Question is, which carrier's phone would I be able to use outside the US? I'll be going to Europe this summer and would like to purchase a local SIM in Europe and use it there, instead of paying roaming fees on AT&T or TMO.
According to Wikipedia (can't post link) and what I've read on here, the TMO version is SIM unlocked. So this means it will work on all GSM carriers, right? In the US, that would be AT&T (if TMO doesn't have good signal where I live), and when I travel, that means I can use a local SIM, correct?
Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated!

Yep, that's correct. T-mo is SIM unlocked. I use mine with AT&T actually too. It should work abroad with no trouble other than tracking down a local nano sim or cutting one down.
If however you want to use LTE abroad I don't think the bands in the T-Mobile version match those used in Europe. HSPA+ should work fine though.
From my experience when traveling abroad a prepaid SIM w/ LTE was way more expensive than something I wanted just for being able to gchat home and look up directions on gmaps so it was a moot point.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for! I figured LTE wouldn't work in Europe, I was fine with settling for HSPA+ or 3G.
Found a thread here explaining the differences between AT&T, TMO, and Dev Edition. From what I can see, the TMO edition is more flexible than the AT&T edition. Only difference compared to Dev Edition is that unlocking the bootloader on TMO voids your warranty.

LTE works in Europe although is not yet as widely spreaded as in the USA. But you'll be fine with 3G which is fast enough and most countries are well covered with that network. More important issue is roaming if you are planning to visit different countries. You must switch between different operators and even using service from the same operator in different states ( e.g. T-mobile) imply roaming charges. In my opinion the best solution is using local sim with best data plan and voip for calling in every country. If you don't want to switch sim cards, you may find the best roaming solution with prepaid Vodafone Italy. You can buy its clone online (http://www.motorhomewifi.com/product/europa-sim-roaming-data-sim-card/) and refill it in any Vodafone shop around Europe.

[Q] Best prepaid SIM for short Canada visit?

Will be heading to Canada (Quebec City) next month for a short vacation. My wife has the XT1053 which I learned here is SIM-unlocked. Wondering if we can get an inexpensive ($25 or less) prepaid SIM that will allow talk & text to the US. I have looked on the Rogers Wireless site and they have prepaid plans but I don't see a SIM that comes pre-loaded with a fixed number of minutes or texts. Does such a thing exist?
There are probably better options in the USA for getting an international micro SIM card for travellers to Canada.
I am in the reverse position, a Canadian vacationing in NY. I bought a micro SIM from a Canadian company (Roam Mobility) that specializes in US talk/data plans for travellers. I'm sure there is an equivalent in the US.
Assuming you can find a 7-Eleven once you're in Canada, SpeakOut wireless sound like they'd be a good choice:

Alternatively, look at the flanker brands of the big carriers:

Unlocked Note 9 (SM-N960U1) on Verizon overseas

I just bought the SM-N960U1, an unlocked Note 9 (Snapdragon version) directly from Samsung (well, Best Buy, but basically Samsung). I have Verizon service. If I get Verizon's international calling plan, will I be able to use the Verizon service with my number on this phone in South Korea, or anywhere internationally? I already called and asked Verizon; they said it would be compatible, and their site states that voice, data, LTE, everything will work. The only thing I'm worried about is that I read this post which says it DOESN'T work.

I had a Note 9 Exynos SM-N960F/DS version on AT&T and it worked great over there, but I had to sell it.
Can anyone confirm that the SM-N960U1 with Verizon service will work overseas (specifically South Korea) on Verizon's international plan?
Thanks so much!

Your number will be the same, but I highly advise against paying for Verizon's stupidly expensive international plans. I have the same phone and service, and will be going overseas at the end of this month to Japan and Thailand. I bought myself a Google Fi sim card to use as it seems to be the most convenient and cheaper plan for me to use as it will keep the same number given while charging 20 cents a minute for calls (which I won't do), but let's me text for free and data costs the same as it would be here in the States. You should look into that instead.
That's awesome; thanks so much for the reply. Yeah, their international plans are a bit expensive I must admit. AT&T's, while not too much better, worked flawlessly while I was in Korea, so that was good.
I'll definitely look into the Google Fi. Are you going to simply forward your number to the Fi service while you are abroad?

Nah, I'll just create a new number so that way I don't get called by mistake. Especially robocallers.
The only issue I had with Google Fi when I had the service was that it wouldn't allow talk and data at the same time if connected to Sprint.
