Introduction:
This is the Official Lineage OS 20 thread for the moto z2 force.
Join our moto z2 force Discord!
Downloads:
Please follow the install instructions in your device's Wiki page linked below exactly, and make sure your device's firmware matches the required firmware listed.
nash - Official builds - Potentially coming soon! - Camera I broken and we are struggling to fix it.
nash - My unofficial with Google Apps/Pixel goodies included. Passes SafetyNet by default. OTA's roll roughly once a month. Support not guaranteed or implied.
If you don't follow these instructions, or use 3rd party add-ons (like Magisk) please don't expect support here.
Known Bugs:
Camera is buggy/broken at the moment (ugh - working on it but no leads yet)
The EQ Apps for Audio Mods (eg. JBL2 App) won't work, and will crash.
Ultrasonic Proximity Sensor doesn't work -- No support present in the OSS Audio HAL. If it was written in, it wouldn't be used by anything in LineageOS, as the normal proximity sensor works fine.
Audio Mods have no alarm or notification audio through them.
Camera Mods don't (and won't ever) work.
Find any? Report them according to this guide.
Notes:
The only supported GApps package at the moment is MindTheGapps, linked on our Wiki page about gapps.
Official Lineage OS builds for nash ship with full Project Treble compatibility! Flash GSI's to your heart's content after flashing Lineage. Please don't report GSI bugs here, report them instead to the GSI's maker.
Code:
Technical details on our Treble implementation:
Treble is enabled with VNDK30, and VNDK runtime enforcement. VNDK runtime enforcement means that unlike most "ported treble" you'll see, ours is just as it would be from the OEM, and can run GSIs. without need for hacks or additional flashable zips. We relabeled /oem to /vendor (as /oem isn't wasn't used in custom ROMs anyway). To use a GSI, flash official Lineage, then flash your GSI, it's that simple! Flashing a factory image will likely write over /oem and remove the mock vendor image.

Hi! I loved the Android 13 version, thanks a lot!

Thank you for Android 13, it's a great news
can you tell me when I have official Lineage 19.1 is it possible to upgrade unofficial Lineage 20 or should wait official build?
When official build will come?
What's your suggestion official is better or unofficial?
What's differences?

You can't jump back and forth from official to unofficial.
Not sure yet, infrastructure is getting ready.
Not sure, if you want pixel like, use mine, if you want lineage without any changes, use official.
Don't have time to details the diffs.

thank you for your help, I attached logcat.txt as you want it from me

Looks like official Lineage 20.0 came out for some devices, so official builds for nash should start soon.

I upgraded from 18: I sideloaded (after Format data / factory reset) lineage-20.0-20221219-UNOFFICIAL-nash.zip from Lineage Recovery v18. I confirmed that Lineage Recovery is now v20, so I assume this is OK? I couldn't get fastboot to work, but this is probably because I did this in Winblows.
Aside from the aforementioned Camera problems, this works great! With the v18 build, I was unable to power off with my Mophie battery pack attached (phone would reboot unless I removed battery) but this build has fixed that! Thank you for your continued hard work!

Dirty Unicorns Semi GSI for Samsung Devices
By CodeFox & OpenSauce9810
I'm no longer maintaining this thread, check the note 9 thread here for latest updates
What is this?
This is a Semi Generic System Image. That means it's a generic system image that's been optimized as much as possible for our Samsung Devices.
How the heck do I flash this?
It's slightly different than flashing a zip, so here's what you need to do.
Download the image file
Flash Endurance GSI Kernel in TWRP
Flash BRJ6 Vendor
Flash the System Image to your System Partition
Optional if you want root (but reccomended): Reboot to recovery again then flash your choice of Magisk. I use 17.1 as I can get galaxy wear to work with that version.
Reboot your device and you should be good to go! No need to flash gapps as they're included.
03.12.2018
Initial Release
05.12.2018
Updated sources to 9.0 r21 release. (December Security Patch)
Gapps included, (dialer and messenger also included so you won't start without a phone or sms app)
Bootanimation changed to reduce boot times
Tweaks to ambient play ticker so it clears when you clear media notifications
Further performance tweaks thanks to @malinathani animations transition smoother now.
06.12.2018
PHH Settings Removed.
Dual Speaker permanently integrated, will always persist and no longer needs to be activated.
Enhanced brightness ranges permanently integrated.
Sync latest DU Sources
Potential ratio fix for S9/S9+ Devices.

You need to install GAPPS 9.0 after rebooting into recovery following install of system image. This should be mentioned in the instructions.
Then you will get the usual install section after boot up and the usual google apps etc. I used GAPPS 9.0 nano.
All working well on my S9+.

My bad. It's copy pasta from my PE thread. I'll update it tomorrow. It's a bit of a nightmare I've got so many threads to maintain haha.
Is there any way to use edge screen notifications?
Best rom atm! Perfect to set it up just the way you want it without bloat apps.
Just had to change Product.model to pixel xl in build props to get higher quality on Facebook vids.
Anyways, New daily for me. Thank you. ?
I can't flash the system image . Why is it ending in .xz ?
Its a compressed file, I just used 7zip to extract it.

Is Bluetooth working for you?
which camera you're using on this ROM?
Didn't work for me, had two issues:
-Internal Data not being seen
- No network connection
- Says not to flash gapps, but it is needed as nothing is installed.
For me now, this isn't a usable ROM.

Fingerprint in 3rd-party-apps
Hello @All,
i installed this good rom on my G965F and everything is working - BIG thx @devs...
I have only one question/issue: With my registered fingerprint i can unlock the screen - this works perfect, but in 3rd-party-apps i get an error with fingerprint and i cant use my fingerprint in these apps (e.g. banking app). Anyone know how to use my fingerprint in 3rd-party-apps? This is not working on all Pie-(s)GSI, not only on DU...

About GrapheneOS :
GrapheneOS is an open source privacy and security focused mobile OS with Android app compatibility.
GrapheneOS is a privacy / security research and engineering project that has been under way for over 5 years. It recently became rebranded as GrapheneOS and is taking a different direction based on obtaining funding for the research and development work as a non-profit open source project rather than being a company. The reborn project is still in a very early stage and lots of the past work on privacy and security has not yet been restored for the new incarnation of the OS.
The grapheneos.org site is very new and is currently being put together. It will have lots of additional documentation and tutorials in the future along with coverage of various software, firmware and hardware privacy/security topics.
GrapheneOS is being supported with funding and developers from various companies and other organizations interested in contributing to this shared base for a feature rich private and secure mobile operating system able to run many existing applications. It will take more time to organize and deploy these resources in order for the project to have a strong development team with proper infrastructure behind it.
* ONE LAST REMINDER THIS GRAPHENEOS IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DAILY USE, IF YOU WANT A AOSP ROM FOR DAILY USE WAIT FOR MY UNOFFICIAL AEX Q and Havoc Pie/Q ROMS CHEERS *
* Why Final Release : This would be A onetime release of this UNOFFICIAL ROM I'll be focusing more in AEX Pie/Q, Pixel Pie/Q and Havoc Pie/Q.*

I don't mean to make this a troubleshooting post, but I think you're talking about expressluke GSIs(or any Q GSI for that matter). If you are, you can try this patch to get it to boot. I do think some patching to fix LTE and some features that don't work would be great as well.

What my real plan is to make patch into the GSI Sources before Building it.. Those patches include voLTE fix and other features. Integrate APTX coming from Razer GSI system.img.. and many more..
Nice to see some things to look forward to. Hopefully soon we'll see a stock Q then others will take interest like this guy to come some roms specially geared for RP2.

I don't mean to be mean, but I feel like you should label them as patched GSIs then, as opposed to a dedicated ROM made specifically for the hardware of the Razer Phone 2. It's still awesome that you're working to make GSIs better for the Razer Phone 2; they're nearly daily driver material in my opinion.

Thank you for your work. Will you try to sort out why Verizon doesn't work on AOSP as well? It seems to have to signal problems on GSI.
hello, just tryin this rom and cannot get into google play to loggin just when google play moves to loggin screen its became a blackscreen :/
After Magisk-v20.3 has obtained the permission ROOT, it cannot be turned off after shutting down, staying on the first screen, and restarting cyclically. Restart the machine normally, and boot off. You need to flash in the boot again. You cannot use Magisk to obtain the permission ROOT. My phone is in F2FS format
---------- Post added at 08:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:35 AM ----------
There is also a small problem. There will be vase stripes in rec operation, which may be a problem with my machine. Thanks for your work, making Razer useful
It can be LTE???
Sms or mms is can work.. but lte does not work.
LTE+ icon x mark
so this image has mixed result?

I was quite tired of all the mata ROMs with built-in gapps, and so many without all the great customizations that crDroid brings. We needed a ROM with Signature Spoofing for microg support. I've tested out the 360 degree camera, it's working. I tested phone calls, wifi, messaging, and microg installation. All works, can even get location with UnifiedNLP on Android 10! I tested with minmicrog and NanoDroid with magisk overlay.
If this is well received, I'll work on improving issues and getting official status.

Thank you. I'm going to test it.
Funny I would see this. I had the exact same idea yesterday. I finally got around to building crDroid v6.7 with the LineageOS 17.1 kernel as you have. I also used the LineageOS 17.1 device files, and TheMuppets vendor files, (https://github.com/TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_essential). I then installed Magisk and MinMicroG NoGoolag edition. I find that this ROM so far has been working fine. The only real issue I have found is that Aurora Droid which is installed from the MinMicroG package seems to crash during the first launch sync. However, relaunching it and syncing resolves the issue. This didn't seem to happen when building LineageOS 17.1 with full signature spoofing when I was testing that. Not entirely sure though if others will see that, or if it was my build.
I really hope to see your build get more testing, and get official status!
Best of luck!

I did have one force close of NLP backend with minmicrog, but it cleared up after the initial crash. NanoDroid beta had no issues. It's comforting to know others are interested in gapps-less (or less gapps ) ROMs, to the extent of building their own!

Speaking of NLP, and location services in general, I do notice in the microG self-check mine appears to not have the proper permission to access location in the background, and it seems the permissions is unknown. I see the permissions as "android.permissions.group.UNDEFINED", and I am unable to grant it permission. Did you notice this as well? Or, were you able to provide all permissions without issue?

The only thing I had to do finish microg setup was run this from ADB or termux.
Code:
pm grant com.android.vending android.permission.FAKE_PACKAGE_SIGNATURE
I've attached screenshots of my microg self-check results and locations permissions. The only unticked box is last known location, which I think is because I haven't used it since last flash..
EDIT: attachments weren't loading.. uploaded here
Thanks! I have already granted signature spoofing, and that appears correct. I'll check into this more later.
Thanks for the rom, I saw two issues related to Lineage tree, VoLTE not work for me, I fix with a Magisk module and codec aptx don't work too.

Something I have noticed with my build is that the status bar clock freezes, and the network monitor when enabled in the crDroid settings disappears from the status bar quite frequently. The time on the lock screen and clock app appear correct always. Rebooting the system or system UI, as well as locking and unlocking a few times corrects it. But it happens again after the next lock or so. Is this something you have noticed with your build as well? Or, are you not seeing these issues?
So far so good. I love performance on this rom. The only issue for me is crdroid launcher. I'm replace it with pixel launcher + quickswitch and everything working so smooth. I'm waiting for the next build in future for more optimize.
Any chance to have the wireguard module baked in the kernel?
Thanks for this gappless signature spoofing enabled Rom!
Finally one that works out of the box

New release is up. It has WireGuard and VoLTE enabled by default. Tested both, both working. Be aware that there could be a DNS leak for wireguard using kernel right now.
Screenshots for proof
Download is in first post, or you can shortcut here.
Dirty flash worked fine for me, but ymmv.

Bluetooth fixed ? Need gappless but also need aptx.
Also ymmv?
Your Mileage May Vary (YMMV) - basically saying that your results may not match exactly to the ones shown.

I made no changes in regards to aptx. Is there an essential ROM that does have aptx working? I can look at how they've implemented and try to recreate.
Failing that, I don't foresee myself implementing aptx into this ROM.

UPDATE 29-10-2022: I am sorry to inform you that my Galaxy S9 broke and I no longer have the time to maintain this custom ROM. I have seen a new builder in the forum so now I can peacefully move on. Thank you and have fun!

I have the LOS 17 starqltechn version installed on my SM-G960U1 phone but when I try to install this version, I get an error saying my tablet is a starqlte. It is a U.S. version that I had to pay to have the bootloader unlocked but 17 installed. Can I just modify your ROM to accept the starqlte? Also, should I use the ARM64 or regular gapps.
edit: Went ahead and tried it. Modified first two lines of updater-script for starqltechn to starqlte and it worked. And the ARM64 pico gapps worked. Up and running!!!

Really nice that you could fix it yourself! Enjoy your build (it should work without issues on a starqlte)

I didn't quite understand your question, although I'll try to answer it as best as i can:
1) If you're asking for a build for the Vivo V17 Pro, then I'm sorry, that won't be possible as i don't have nor the device or the time to maintain it.
2) I'm sorry, A12 won't be possible yet as LineageOS 19 isn't really mature yet. Although @klabit87 is working on a build for the S9 and S9+. As for the Vivo X17P, if you can't find an unofficial build, i found that your device supports Treble, so you may consider installing one of phhusson's GSIs. I'll link them for you: https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases

Yeah but that doesn't explain how to root a verizon s9+? i thought this rom is used for a rooted phone, but is that not the case? this rom is for non-rooted phones?

The ROM is for phones with an UNLOCKED bootloader. You can use it as is, unrooted, or you can use Magisk to root it. Unlocked bootloader and root are two different things.
okay thanks for clarifying.

Thanks so much for this information, updated my S9 (Starqltechn) and this kernel worked just fine.
Linux Kernel went from 4.9.186 (Klabit V6.5) to 4.9.297 (Lynx R5.2.7).
Performance seems great!

P.S. Switched from crDroid to Lineage a few weeks ago because there were no more updates...

Sure, new version 7.26 should be available right now via OTA or for new installs.
The good news is that my plan is to continue compiling new versions of crDroid 7 for this device as long as we keep updating version 7.
The bad news is that this is Android 11 and unless things change a lot there won't be newer Android versions for this device.
So... Hope you enjoy our beloved A11 :-)
Hi!
I'd like to know how it went from those that have upgraded via OTA from the old builds to 7.26.
Any problems on the upgrade?
Did it break something that was previously working?
Regards.
It may be updated to Android 12 or 13 in the future
Thank you for this!
I just recently dropped crdroid to lineage because performance was just tanking then this popped up so back to CrDroid i went

In LineageOS 20 no audio mod really works, in addition to the fact that my phone freezes after 5 minutes, in this ROM the audio problem is intermittent, whether or not an audio mod is installed, it can only be solved by turning off the equipment for a few seconds.

I assume that you have performed a clean flash. If I were you, I would flash stock firmware with odin and start again from the beginning.
Can anyone tel me how I can switch back to crdroid 7.26? I use the unofficial lineage os 20 custom rom from this thread, and I want to keep my apps but downgrade to a different rom entirely. So can I do it without a clean flash? Or is there a way to store the progress of my games atleast because few games don't store it in the cloud through google play services. so is it possible?

@bestiatester Hi, I bought a Samsung A5 2017 from a friend recently so I decided to root it and install this ROM(already install it) but I have a question should I flash riseKernel to get better battery life or the kernel that comes with this ROM is just as good as riseKernel?
