Disclaimer: This GSI ROM is not mine. I am putting this here since the A71 doesn't really have a lot of ROMs, and many GSIs don't boot on this device. So, this is going to be a device specific thread to get this ROM up and running on the A71. All the credit goes to the Corvus OS developers and everyone working on this GSI. I don't want this forum to be a ''copy-paste'' thread.. even if it looks like it. Again,i don't take any credits!! If anyone wants to contribute on this to make it better for our device, please contact me.

What is this?
Corvus OS, a ROM with many useful & required Customizations. Corvus OS is based on Android Opensource Project (AOSP). Our objectives are a stable and feature ROM that can be enjoyed by many devices. We won't say that Corvus is better ROM than others, but we always try to give you the best.
And what is a GSI?'' A generic system image (GSI) is a system image with adjusted configurations for Android devices. It's considered a pure Android implementation with unmodified Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code that any Android device running Android 9 or higher can run successfully.
GSIs are used for running VTS and CTS-on-GSI tests. The system image of an Android device is replaced with a GSI then tested with the Vendor Test Suite (VTS) and the Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) to ensure that the device implements vendor interfaces correctly with the latest version of Android.) ''
What are the bugs?
Fingerprint not working
SIM 2 might not be fully working

Installation Guide- Make sure your phone is already bootloader unlocked and you have a custom recovery installed, minimum.
- Go to your custom recovery and then wipe
- Flash the boot.img file given below (note: Flash only on A71 4G. I am not responsible if your device bricked because you flashed this img on A71 5G or other devices. EVEN IF IT IS SIMILAR, IT WON'T WORK!)
- Reboot to recovery (important)
- Your device might boot to a stock recovery as of now. Don't panic if it does. Power off then boot to download mode
- Select "reboot to download"
- Use Odin to flash twrp-3.6.2_11-3_afaneh92-a71.tar (AP slot) that is given below.
- When the device reboots, immediately boot into the custom recovery by pressing volume up + power button.
- Flash Multidisabler, file given below

GSI Optimization (can work for all A12 GSIs)Google Camera: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-bsg/f/dl61/Apply this config:https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/p/f/2021/11/BSG-A71-GV1h.xmlAnd Lib: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/morgenmanlibv6.soFast charging MOD:By default A71 on GSI charges really slow, this enables fast charging for the A71 on any GSITo install, download this from: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KguCeLD-VHShm0MYzKhYrsAv-rZAuJeA/view?usp=sharingNow install the module it will ask you to use volume keys follow the instructions and choose 4500mah 27w. Once installed reboot! For better performance and battery life:- Uninstall ANY OTHER KERNEL MANAGER app including smartpack/Ktweaks to avoid conflict, since this app uses AI and machine learning to dynamically boost performance when needed- Update FDE AI to the latest version by downloading the latest APK here, then rename the apk to zip and then flash it via magisk: https://github.com/feravolt/FDE.AI-docs/releases- Open FDE.AI settings, enable analyze apps, disable throttling and ignore charging (A71 doesn't get hot anyways, so scamsung's throttling measures are useless mf), Force Doze mode, and check ALL build.prop tweaks (this might fix slow mobile data and many other network related bugs, and graphical glitches with the GPU tweaks)- Go to tools and select extra optimization - toggle max performance then click on START, and make sure you set auto optimization as well, I recommend setting the time to 23:00 PM - 04:00 AM- Go to the settings tab and use the AUTO settings for FDE AI, make sure you toggle advanced mode aswell.Install GMS Doze Magisk Module: https://github.com/gloeyisk/universal-gms-doze

The rom is very smooth, I have installed it successfully, need more time to evaluate this rom

Thank you for the credits! Looking forward next collab's..

GAPPS: DOWNLOAD GAPPS
First time installing crDroid to your Z2 Play, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running treble TWRP recovery
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk XX.x (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

If you can send/receive messages, can receive calls, but cant make them, download the two files from -Here and replace them in system/priv-app. You will need root for this
GSIs
This CRDroid build ships with Project Treble compatibility (lite VNDK), meaning you can flash a GSI as System Image from TWRP. Please don't report GSI bugs here, report them instead to the GSI's maker. A Format Data from TWRP is required after flashing a GSI in order to avoid problems.
Technical details on our Treble implementation:
This device is a community-treble device, meaning other devs before us made it compatible with Project Treble (lite VNDK), using the oem partion as a vendor. GSIs still have some problems regarding cpu frequency scaling and camera. You have been warned.
Wanna help?
If you find a problem or a bug, please share a logcat with us, alongside an explanation of the problem and steps to reproduce. We won't accept bug reporting without a logcat. Collect logcat with:

Nice rom, thank you for you work!
I've encountered two problems though:
One problem is default usb mode - after setting it you cannot change mode after pluging into usb (option other then default are inactive).
Second problem - rom is a bit unstable. To be exact: when I wake the phone via active display (waving hand over the phone or moving the phone) sometimes screen turns on correctly, sometimes doesn't wake at all, and sometimes shows only the status bar and nothing else. Strange.
Fingerprint scanner cannot be configured in all these new-december roms? Configured for example to wake/sleep the phone, or volume setting etc, not just as a fingerprint scanner. Such possibility was in 8.1 AOSP some time ago, it was really awesome.

The usb issue we haven't been able to reproduce, so for now it is what it is.
On to your second point, that's all handled by crDroid, there's nothing from device side that interacts with how the screen is drawn when that happens, so i wouldn't know what to tell ya
Lastly, would you mind showing how that worked? I've never seen it in any of the 8.1 roms i used

Introduction
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

When coming from stock to this ROM or one of the other Lineage-based ROMs, yours prompts for a pre-boot decryption password and crashes on attempts to encrypt, while the other doesn't, using the apparently included default. That includes upstream TWRP releases.
Any data I could supply to help get FDE working on this? Might be useful for your other 11/R-based ROMs, if this occurs on them, as I haven't checked.

I know, however I actually find forceencryption valuable, in spite of it's shortcomings, and the linked Lineage 17.1 ROM makes it work (and makes TWRP work with it, too). The solution I would be looking for is not to disable, but rather support it.

Disk encryption is not stable yet on android 11 you should wait untill it get stable or better go with android 10 ROMs
Seems to be squared off in upstream. Since there's no official support for MSM8917, if you're tracking changes from a different device's tree, which device is it?

hi, i've been testing this rom, and i haven't been able to make it work with my sim card. The official rom works fine, and other sim cards from other vendors work fine on this rom.
I tried flashing the official firmware fw_rolex_miui_HM4AGlobal_V10.2.3.0.NCCMIXM_69d07208fd_7.1.zip, but I couldn't get it to work either.
Lineageos 17.1 doesn't work either.

Update your recovery to the latest orangefox recovery which has 4.9 kernel
Wipe data vendor system cache and dalvik cache before flashing the rom
Restore perisist backup (look for redmi 4a persist backup if you don't have)
Hi. I've been having a problem with this new build. After a while, after waking up the phone from deep sleep, I can't open any app or phone setting. The apps just stay loading. Programmed tasks like alarms don't work, either. I have to reboot the phone every once a while as a workaround. This problem was also present in Lineage OS 17, but it didn't happen with Thagoo's older LOS 18.1 build on Telegram. Maybe it's due to the new blocked wakelocks?

for anyone having issues. xiaomi tool v2 is incredible. fixed ma phone
I finally made it working.
Some notes:
-need 64 bit recovery
-format data after install
-i saw thatyou dont need to wipe to install but i haven't tried it.
Use the 64bit TWRP or else u will get error 255 and probably stuck in the bootloader screen if you reboot to the system.

Nice to see Android 12 brought to this phone! Great job o7, here are some bugs i noticed
Speakers have a sort of background noise, it distords and make music sound like it is low bitrate/heavily compressed, at low volume it sounds like it is bass boosted
Microphone seems to have a much lower volume compared to MIUI
Installing magisk causes phone to get stuck on Mi logo when booting to system

First is known, will fix someday, I'll look into the second, magisk is weird since I know several guys who are using magisk here without any issues, you might want to try different versions or something. Anyway, thanks for your feedback.
Hi,
Also huge thanks for you, for bringing A12 on this phone.

Installing magisk with magisk.zip file in recovery also get my phone stuck on Mi logo.
I tried installing magisk via Magisk app on phone,
You need to extract boot.img from ROM .zip file. Then install Magisk app on your phone.
From Home Screen of Magisk app, choose install button next to "Magisk". On next screen select "Select and Patch a file" pick your extracted boot.img, and click "LET´S GO". It patches your boot.img file and move it to Downloads folder. Last think you need to boot to recovery and flash patched .img file. This successfully installed Magisk on my phone.
This wok for me

Well the only suggestion I can give is to wait for updates, battery life was terrible until recently even on pixel devices themselves. I will make an attempt towards improving battery life in december patch update next week, stay tuned.

- LED fixed, also more LED settings available now
- Newer Sylla's kernel

My bet is that it's gonna get released once it's released in PE Plus, and PE Plus is gonna get released in January so expect face unlock in January as well.
Is this ROM possible to change the volume panel position from right to left?

Disclaimer: This GSI ROM is not mine. I am putting this here since the A71 doesn't really have a lot of ROMs, and many GSIs don't boot on this device. So, this is going to be a device specific thread to get this ROM up and running on the A71. All GSIs that I post here will boot if instructions are followed properly. All the credit goes to Nippon GSI developers and everyone working on this GSI. I don't want this forum to be a ''copy-paste'' thread.. even if it looks like it. Again,i don't take any credits!! If anyone wants to contribute on this to make it better for our device, please contact me.
All credits goes to:
Nippon GSI for the GSI.

What is this?
This ROM is a port from the Pixel 4a device. This device is great and does have the same 730G processor as the A71, plus Google optimizes stuff better than Samsung anyway.

Downloads
Download these files:
Pixel-12.1-4a-AB-12-20220707-NipponGSI.img - here - Use FDM for faster speeds.
Multidisabler, stock boot.img and TWRP - file given below
- Flash Pixel-12.1-4a-AB-12-20220707-NipponGSI.img as a SYSTEM IMAGE in TWRP, after you have extracted it from the xz file using 7-Zip or Winrar.
- Wipe again just to make sure
- Reboot
- For BT to work better: Disable A2DP offload from developer options.
GSI Optimization (can work for all A12 PHH based GSIs and ROMs)
- PHH Treble Settings -
(device-specific settings)
Open Settings > Phh Treble Settings. Here you have multiple categories.
Head over to 'Samsung features' and enable:
- extended brightness range
- double tap to wake
- access to all cameras
- extra sensors
- Use alternate audio policy
- workaround for white-ish screen
- workaround for broken fingerprint
Get to 'Doze features' and check everything.
Get to 'Misc features' and enable:
- Force allow Always-on Display
- Allow setting brightness to the lowest
- Force enable Camera2API HAL3
- Force-disable A2D0 offload
- Disable FUSE storage layer ( Play with it to see if performance is better or worse )
Get to 'IMS features' and enabe:
- Force the presence of 4G CallingGoogle Camera: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-bsg/f/dl61/Apply this config:https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/p/f/2021/11/BSG-A71-GV1h.xmlAnd Lib: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/morgenmanlibv6.soFast charging MOD:By default A71 on GSI charges really slow, this enables fast charging for the A71 on any GSITo install, download this from: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KguCeLD-VHShm0MYzKhYrsAv-rZAuJeA/view?usp=sharingNow install the module it will ask you to use volume keys follow the instructions and choose 4500mah 27w. Once installed reboot! For better performance and battery life:- Uninstall ANY OTHER KERNEL MANAGER app including smartpack/Ktweaks to avoid conflict, since this app uses AI and machine learning to dynamically boost performance when needed- Update FDE AI to the latest version by downloading the latest APK here, then rename the apk to zip and then flash it via magisk: https://github.com/feravolt/FDE.AI-docs/releases- Open FDE.AI settings, enable analyze apps, disable throttling and ignore charging (A71 doesn't get hot anyways, so scamsung's throttling measures are useless mf), Force Doze mode, and check ALL build.prop tweaks (this might fix slow mobile data and many other network related bugs, and graphical glitches with the GPU tweaks)- Go to tools and select extra optimization - toggle max performance then click on START, and make sure you set auto optimization as well, I recommend setting the time to 23:00 PM - 04:00 AM- Go to the settings tab and use the AUTO settings for FDE AI, make sure you toggle advanced mode aswell.Install GMS Doze Magisk Module: https://github.com/gloeyisk/universal-gms-doze
honestly, Samsung's vendor has terrible GSI compatibility. But if the GSI is near stock and AOSP based, (especially phh builds like this), I guarantee you it will BOOT
This GSI is extremely stable. No crashes so far!
