Xperia XZ, I cant install Google Apps. - Sony Xperia XZ ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other

Hello there,
I have a Xperia XZ. I Unlocked it and Im trying to install a custom ROM from our forum here.
I have installed
Lineage 19,
Lineage 15,
Crdroid.
When i install them, they work fine. Simple, clean and very light ROMS.
When I decide to Reinstall them with NikGapps, they don't work.
All of them show me that they have been installed (both ROM and NikGapps) but when i open the device, they keep give me an Error that there is not Google Service in the mobile (L15), but it doesnt let me to connect in the web to download OR it (L19) keeps TRYING to pass the first steps of NEXT NEXT NEXT at the start screen.
I follow every single step (I think)
Wipe/Clean
Install ROM
Install NikGapps
And then I turn on the device.
Do i have to make anything else?
When I visit NikGapps like, there are several versions of Gappa (CORE, BASIC, OMNI, etc. etc.) But there is not any specific link for the specific version I want but only ONE LINK for all. Do I miss something?
Is there here around any Custom ROM with ROM+NikGapps to install them together?
Thank you In advance.

Hello
Well, THANK you both! Finally it works!
Even if I use as second device, it works good!
**Do you know if this version of Gapps (MindTheGapps) works with another version of LineageOS? Like the 15 version?
Thank you a lot people!

LineageOS 17.1 on santoni.

Do you guys think that LOS 17.1 Will be officially released to our santoni along with the lineage recovery?
If yes, why ?
If no, why ?
For me it does not matter if lineage os is official or not as long as the rom is stable and maintained timely.

Get it here https://sourceforge.net/projects/santoni-4x/files/
For further updates keep checking for updates here.
if developer wish to continue then we should get updates there and on there should be xda thread.
However i have not tried this build yet.

Thanks for the link from ROM :good:
Are you following the installation procedure?
Wipe: system, date, cache, vendor? (Wipe vendor or not Wipe vendor) and installs rom via TWRP ?
or
install as with Official LineageOS installation via adb ?

As i said earlier i have not tried this ROM yet and there is no anything special mentioning of flashing procedure so flashing should be normal as usual. device trees are from havoc os.
wiping system, cache, data should be as usual as we change between different rom. just make sure to use latest recovery.
don't wipe internal storage, but do backup everything as precaution.

Hello there,
just wondering: as crDroid 7.x is available for santoni, how come there is no LineageOS 17.x available for it?
To my understanding crDroid 7.x should be based on the latest LineageOS 17.x - which is not available - ???
Thanks for any insight on this.

Lineage OS 18.1 Unofficial based on Android 11 R is already available for Redmi 4X like Lineage OS 17.X Unofficial was available, the only exception with Lineage OS 17.X was it never went official. And i am not sure if Lineage OS 18.1 will go official.
You can try/use Lineage OS 18.1 Unofficial based on Android 11 R.
Just make sure to backup everything including backup of Persist and EFS and clean flash.
Hello metelhammer,
thanks for the clarification. As I can't find anything on the forum here in the ROM section - could you pinpoint me where to look for LOS17/18 ROMs for santoni?
Thx,
einnarr
This is telegram group for Redmi 4X https://t.me/s/r4xdownloads you can stay updated here with official and unofficial builds, mostly almost all builds are listed here.

Just installed it in the last days on three units - so far looking very good in daily use. Just have an issue with fingerprint sensor reacting differently after clean install.

TWRP 3.5.0 for Redmi 9 (lancelot)

The file got uploaded yesterday, I managed to obtain an androidfilehost-link from the xiaomi.eu forum. Did anyone already tried to install that recovery or knows if it works correctly/seemingly stable and which vbmeta.img is needed (if one is needed)?

i could be wrong but i'm pretty sure the vbmeta file is the same as the other ones but of course different than the original. i was under the impression the vbmeta.img is just a bunch of garble and is only supposed to tell the system to ignore the partition.
that being said, the only twrp where touch works for me is build 0108

I got time to try it finally. Until now I used the PitchBlackRecovery to flash my ROMs, zips, etc. just because it was the only Recovery, where touch worked for me (TWRP CN struggled with my touch inputs).
But thanks to your suggestion I flashed the version 0108 and the touch really works for me as well! Thank you!

no problem! it was the first one i used coincidentally and others following didn't work. i will note that i have a 4/64 nonfc and this build is the only one besides pbrp that worked. my girlfriends 3/32 no nfc will take newer builds and work correctly. idk why

Unofficial LineageOS 19.1 Android 12L

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 12 (S), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

First of all thousand thanks to @khalvat for his great job
I've clean flashed LOS 19.1+Magisk+MTG and restored data from TWRP backup of crDroid v8.
Everything went very well and the boot in 1 minute by touching the screen on Samsung boot logo same as for crDroid v8!
I have the same issue than crDroid v8 cannot update Google Play !
Thanks @khalvat for you great work.
sm-g900i - klte build - ROM only
This is a sweet build, definitely loving Android 12. Looking forward to seeing where this project goes... very exciting for my old tired flagship
I have flashed the klte build (adb sideload lineage-19.1-20220406-UNOFFICIAL-klte.zip) on one of my G900F (without Gapps and without Magisk) after a data format in TWRP.
The phone get stuck at the Samsung Galaxy S5 boot screen and does not show the LineageOS animation.
Is there something I've done wrong ?

With your finger, you need to swipe the Samsung galaxy screen logo at first boot or wait 15-20 minutes for boot setup to start.

Same on my MSM8974/MSM8226 devices, but weirdly not happening on my MSM8960 device.
Hope you can find a solution to solve it and let me know if you want.
Thanks.
@khalvat please add support for Samsung Galaxy s5 G900D (SC-04F) aka docomo galaxy s5 ”kltekdi” variant with correct charging drivers so that there is no charging issue like in the previous lineage os builds such as los17 and 18…In lineage os 16 charging works perfectly by default…Thanks.

What I meant by the Internet isn't the WiFi icon or LTE icon, it's the fact you can't connect to any website.

The recovery link in the OP points to Wingtech/Xiaomi Redmi 2's LineageOS download page. It should be replaced with this one.
Anyone been able to install GApps? There was something regarding a zip file to resize the system partition in the OP yesterday, but not seeing it now.

That's interesting, I will have to check what's wrong with that. Thanks for reporting.
Opinion from the people using this - how does the PH-1 handle the ROM? Mainly asking from the perspective of the phone's hardware capability Vs Android 13.
The RIL stack on msm8998 devices may be too old to work well/properly on A13.
I'm not the right person to comment on the PH-1's A13 status (or that of other msm8998 devices), or on whether fixes are possible (or not)... these need a dev's reply.

msm8976 - which gapps to use discussion for 18.1 rom (SM-T813)

I'm NOT a gapps user so I will NOT be participating in this thread. I'm not supporting or answering any gapps project questions.
This thread is for users who want/need to run gapps with 18.1 on SM-T813.
I opened this thread as a courtesy for users who want/need gapps.
At last count there were 5 gapps projects and they are in various states of "working" wrt to 18.1. It's your responsibility to put in some hours of research to find out what gapps works for you. You need ARM64 gapps.
I suggest you use the smallest version of gapps offered by the different projects for best chance for success. Follow the installation instructions given by the gapps project. Don't be surprised if certain things like "Ok google" doesn't work until all of gapps is updated to the latest version via google play/wifi.
Reserved #2.
Short answer , OpenGApps works flawlessly. Took the nano package with no issues so far.
Magisk, certified Playstore under Magisk treatment.... Everything works as expected. Big winner is the working GPS.
Thanks for the hard work. In the meantime I try to compile by myself.
Appreciate your work, retirdetab.
