Question Any rom - Redmi Note 11 (spes/spesn)

I really need some help. I am an idiot when it comes to these things. So, I have redmi note 11 4g (china) but there is no single from (apparently because of the mtc chipset). Is there any solution, any unofficial global/eu rom? Only solution I came across is to flash redmi 10 global rom (probably bad idea). Tnx in advance.

Solution for what? Are you bricked?, if you made a mistake, and bought a different device than expected, you at least can flash a GSI, to taste other flavor.
Xiaomi. eu developers don't work on (newer) MediaTek devices, but, rooting, debloating and more, your own stock Miui ROM, you won't find a noticeable difference from miui.eu ROMs though, they're based on China firmware.

Not bricked but as I said, I don't know much except flashing Roms compatible with my model. I couldn't find anything for redmi note 11 4g (as u said, mtk issue). What exactly would I get from rooting except some barely working google services ? Can I flash rom from different model with same specs (Redmi 10) ? Or some method to install working google play... Sorry for bothering...

You may read this https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/xiaomi-redmi-note-11-4g-custom-rom.4386685/post-86495567
And flashing from a different device, even it seems to have similar specs, won't work, most likely will brick your device, specially in the IMEI stuff and things around it, so I don't recommend you try it.

Yes, all the ROMs for this device come with Google, just search for a firmware that match your device, I mean, if you have SPES or SPESN, without NFC or with NFC.

Xiaomi mi 8 SE changing from China ROM to Global

Hi there,
I have a Chinese ROM mi 8 SE and I unlocked the bootloader and try to install global ROM via MiFlash tool but failed.
Can someone provide me the Global ROM to install it via this method through fastboot ?
Thank you in advance.
AFAIK there's no Global ROM for this device.
There isn`t official rom, but there is non official, which apparently works great.

thank you so much I install custom ROM through TWRP
I believe there will be more custom roms in short time, device is really among best buy phones currently and I am sure
more and more developers will have it.
We just need a bit of patience.

this ROM is very good, I recommend it to you.
I'm about to purchase the mi8se unlocked with chinese rom.
Is there an unofficial european rom which is recommended and that it came with OTA updates?
I'm quite technical but I'd rather set the mobile once rather than chase new roms every month if you know what I mean.
Many thanks!

U should try RevOS...or Xiaomi.Eu

New Xiaomi user

I purchased a 6/128 global used off swappa. It's set to be delivered in a few days. To be honest, I should have researched a bit before buying because I'm pretty lost. Looking for some knowledge.
I think I understand the bootloader unlock deal, going forward tho are there certain twrp recoveries for certain models? I've read the threads and doesn't seem like any of them are working fully yet, yet I see where people have rooted and flashed other roms so they must work well enough? Are certain roms only compatible with certain models?
I also gather there are 3 different versions?
EU = European
CN = China
? = Global
Yet I see roms labeled eea, eu etc. Basically, I'm just a bit confused and looking for some plain insight.
Every TWRP could be unstable at the moment, but i saw that there is information about compatibility so check the thread comments.
(MI = Global as far as i know)
EDIT:
For global firmware, use this by @randomblame
for chinese firmware/xiaomi.eu use this by wzsx150
I don't know what to use for EU firmware, but i'd try the same as for Global.

With my limited experience with Xiaomi, I wasn't sure if these were common issues or just more so because the phones relatively new. I've been with Android since pre-ordering the HTC/T-Mobile g1 but for some reason, reading on this phone is confusing me. I went with it because of the price to performance ratio and am sure I'll get a grasp on it. Thanks for the reply. My first steps will be unlocking the bootloader and obtaining root, the waiting period is new to me as well but I'm ok with that. I'll most likely want more stock Android but am willing to give MIUI a chance.

well global firmware(if there is such a thing) would be more towards the n960f since it is more popular and also the same same chipset as ure phone. its sold in UK, greater asia, india, Oceania etc...)
the n9600 is a snapdragon chip. and only sold in china and south America.
but regardless you cant flash stock firmware on different model devices. its a known fact.
if you root then u can flash custom n960f roms no problem on the n960n.(i have it too and been flashing all sorts of custom roms made for the F variant)

u cannot flash any other stock firmware than n960n with odin.
if you want to flash a custom rom.zip , you need to install twrp recovery and root. this will void warranty and also trip knox and some services will no longer work:
samsung pay
might be others.
please read the guides and discussion forums for more information on rooting.

what do you think, because I am a beginner I better use the current stock ROM (N960N) or have to replace another ROM? actually I just don't like Korean accents and Korean network operator logos when I turn it on or trun off my device because I'm already outside Korea. then what is the ROM recommendation for me?

As a beginner the best and most important thing you need to do is research and read up on these topics.
Head over to the development forum and see what each rom offers and choose the one which sounds most suitable for you.
None of us can answer whats best for you dude only you know that.
The nice thing is you can flash and try out as many roms as you want!

I too want to flash the Spanish stock ROM, so as to get rid of d the bloatware and also to use Samsung Pay. A friend of mine told me to buy the Korean version and then flash the Spanish stock ROM, which he did with his note 8 and didn't trigger Knox. I'm getting the Secure Check Fail: Bootloader error when trying to flash with Odin, it's stuck at SYSTEM flashing. Don't know what to do anymore, tried rebooting everything, changing USB ports, running Odin as an admin, and flashing different versions of Android.
Can anyone help?

I know for a fact that the Korean variant of the Note 9 and the international variant both run on the exact same hardware. With the only differences being in the bloatware included with the Korean variant. So theoretically speaking installing the Spanish N960F/D variant's OS onto the N960N should work perfectly without any issues

it work only if you flash a custom ROM, even thought they are the same but you cannot flash a F/D firmware with odin in N model, it mos be a bootloader thing or something else.
by the way the n9600 is a snapdragon model so that is even more impossible.

PEAMIHG ROM - what is it?

Hi,
I recently bought a Mi 8, 64 GB from a local retailer.
When MIUI 11 came out, I started looking for ways to install it - when I came to a thread suggesting to download an official global ROM, Iv'e done it.
But, I ended up with seeing an error message suggests that I can't install it since it's not compatible with the 'vendor'.
Pocking and digging around the web didn't produce any useful information..
Can I get your help with figuring out what's the origin of it?
I'd like to take it to the retailer - but I need more information that will come handy when I'm filling my complain.
Cheers,
-M

Did you downloaded the right rom?
I also have a mi8, 6gb ram, 64gb ROM.

Go to Xiaomi.eu website, and download the right rom and try again

Isn't that an H3G phone? I think you got a phone branded H3G or whatever it's called in your country, that's why you got the vendor message error, I guess..
Don't ask me how to fix it or further details because I can't help you more than this, but if you want to, unlock the bootloader and flash the global rom. Be aware of what you're doing if you want to take it back to the retailer.

I don't think so.. I mean, I'm not saying you did buy it, but the retailer may have sold you one of those..
Look at the name of the ROM, P stands for Android version, EA stands for dipper, MI is the region of the ROM and then..... HG, why not XM? I don't know what XM means, but I think that HG stands for H3G. You can also find ROMs ending with VF, why? Vodafone..
I woyld suggest you to try to authenticate it .

You need to open the phone and follow the instructions to setup your Mi Cloud account, setup Google and use the phone. The Miui 11 update will show up via the updater. At the time the most current global stable build remains on Android 9.
After using the phone for 360 Hours or two weeks, you can unlock the bootloader. From there install whatever you want.
Personally, I recommend the custom Xiaomi.EU rom which is also Miui 11 but based on the Android 10 Chinese beta. But of course all Chinese is removed and Google services are installed. I feel that this is best version of Miui yet.
Edit: I had never heard of the exact that you are using in HG. For this device have a specialized carrier version of Miui?
If so you will need to check with the carrier to if it is possible to unlock the bootloader. I have heard of similar cases with people who own the MiMix3 5G phones.
Thanks for all the answers.

I don't really know to whom it belongs.. I'm trying to figure out this magic. I myself think that it's H3S device.
@MirceaViP
Salut. I did try it out. it ended up stating it's official international version.
@tsongming
I'd like to avoid unlocking the bootloader at the moment. I need this device to connect to a corporate account, which, requires to have the bootloader closed and unchanged.
I was talking with the reseller and he knew nothing about this H3S. We agreed to look for information together.. let's see what's going to be the end of this story.

I recently found out about these ROMs, it's just that you have to wait for the manufacturer to push the update. Also, check this link to Mi Community, it's in Spanish but look for the code name of your ROM and will help you to better understand the whole thing (and where your phone comes from.. ).
aittamattia,
I'm still not getting it - what is that ROM? who is the maintainer?

FYI : You posted this question under the Rom's, kernels and Recoveries section. A moderator will surely delete this thread when they find out about it.
Your rom is a carrier rom, you will get the update when the carrier add their own bloatware and releases to you.
Thanks for all the information.
I hope a moderator will move it to Q&A as I want to take it to the reseller to negotiate my options.
Hey,
You have a carrier specific phone. Did you buy it from Three UK?
I bought mine from there exactly one year ago. It came with MIUI 9 and running that "HG" ROM. I had to unlock the bootloader, flash the original global version and lock the bootloader afterwards.
If you don't flash the global version issued by Xiaomi, you will only be able to update to MIUI 11 when Three issue the update. Three is managing the software updates.
Don't waste your time with their customer services, they have no idea what is the software version. If you have the option to get your money back, buy it direct from Xiaomi UK or Europe.
My phone is working fine since then, I'm able to update it via OTA normally.
Please have a look on this:

There are some topics on the Mi Community as well. I had a discussion with some people that had the same issue.
Hope it helps.

Thanks for the time spent to share information about this ROM.
At the meantime, I'm trying to negotiate nicely with the reseller. It seems like he is looking for information about it as well.
Do you know if H3S got some official customer support system which I can get more inputs on it?
As for the process you've done:
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. Flashed global rom
3. Relocked bootloader
After this process you were able to get OTA updates?

Hi, that's good.
I spoke to their customer services at that time, but had no luck. No one could provide any precise information about the upgrade. Maybe they are able to provide more information now.
So I decided to flash the global version by myself.
Yes, I'm getting OTA updates normally. The official global version is PEAMIXM. I'm on 11.0.6 now.

Well,
I'm in a process of probably replacing it to the official version with actually returning the device and getting other.
if it won't work with the reseller, I'll flash a new global rom and that's it.
P.S. - I saw that there are tools that can do it without unlocking the boot loader, like using EDL. did you tired that?
Thanks

Hey!
I didn't try using EDL, maybe it's an alternative. I had to wait 360 hours to get to unlock the bootloader, then the process of flashing and relock bootloader took 15min.
There are other options of ROMs out there, but I wanted to keep it as much as original as possible.
Hope you find a solution soon!
Cheers

Question New to Xiaomi, help with interface

Tldr verison: new to xaiomi and need how to info on how to set up in a user friendly fashion. Living in the US
I recieved my 11 U monday night. It is the Chinese version.
I'm struggling to set up the phone, it came with google play store preinstalled, though downloads keep defaulting to the Mi app store which is in Chinese. When I swipe up it pulls up a search function also in Chinese. How do I set google playstore as my default play store and make google the default browser? How do I make the phone entirely in English?
I'm new to xiaomi and am looking to make it more user friendly, I have a Samsung note 8 currently and looking to make the interface similar.
I've read a bit about debloating on reddit but unsure what that means.
Any tips tricks or how to videos would be very appriciated
I live in the united states and have tmobile.
Thanks in advance
Edit: I tried searching the forum but only saw things on the EU rom and not sure how that works for the USA

What is the actual benefit of flashing EU ROM or getting global version
Considering a Mi11 Ultra buy, can someone tell me what the actual benefit is of flashing EU ROM? Is it a security thing, software compatibility, less bugs, etc? ie. Is it worth it or even useful to flash EU ROM these days?
