Hello, I hope I can post this here.. i tried, i searched... can't find any solution to my issue.
Model : SM-T810 , with Samsung 128GB UHS microSD. OS : stock Nougat from Samsung.
Here is the problem :
On the play store, if there are pending updates, they only install one at a time, and then it won't do more. Like if there is 5 pending updates, it will maybe do one, and then the other 4 stay pending. It might only do the download portion of the first one and not go to the install phase. If there's no pending updates, and i try to install an app, only the downloading portion of the process shows up, it stops after that, it doesn't go to installing. I have to close the store and go back in for it to install, but if there's a queue of downloads (updates or asked to install multiple apps), I have to close the store for the same amount of apps in the queue for them to install one by one. Now I noticed that every once and a while, 2 or 3 will have updated overnight but that's it!
I closed the process, I cleared the cache, I cleared the data, I cleared the download manager's data and cache, i rebooted, i forced a wrong date and time then set it to auto-date and time to retry, etc.... I uninstalled the Play Store updates, nothing worked!!!
The next step was to do a factory reset. I did not want to lose some progress on some games, AND I have an app to read PDF files and did not want to lose read/unread status of my files...
So I used Odin to flash TWRP, did a backup, rooted, used Titanium Backup to backup my apps.
Then I did factory reset. Store behaved normally again! Installed a few apps, waited a few hours, still good. Did a restore of my apps from titanium backup, everything seemed fine, then a few hours later, store still was not updating or installing the apps right...
Did another factory reset, store worked fine, only restored a couple of backed up apps (the critical ones that i wanted to keep the saves from), everything worked fine. Over the course of 24 hrs, i re-installed a bunch of my regular apps via the play store. Play store worked fine. I did to another Nandroid backup with TWRP just in case.
Then all of a sudden, it started to lag a bit between clicking install, to downloading, to installing. And then a few hours later, issue completely came back, store won't install without me closing it between the download finish and install.
Now one of the last steps I did before it started acting up again was moving ONE app to the SD card (not using any root features). I'm not sure if that caused the issue to come back.
I did notice that Android left a bunch of files on my SD card, some Android folder, with a bunch of subfolders.
I'm wondering if the SD card could be the culprit... I will do one last restore from my last working Nandroid backup and not move anything to the SD card.
If it comes up again, i think i will move the data that i have on my SD card that I dont want to loose (my PDF, pictures, etc.) on to my NAS, and do a factory reset without the SD card installed. Maybe even re-flash with Samsung Kies... and forget about my Titanium Backup saves...
It's my last resort so I was hoping anyone would have any idea on what else to try before doing that?
One last point : yes the stores kinda slows down at some point where the download process takes a few seconds to kick in, and then a few seconds to installing, up to the point where it never does. BUT the rest of my tablet still is really fast, no slow downs anywhere else... All apps launch fast

Auto updates of the apps? Or the OS?
Apps i can see... but still... If I turn that off, that solves the issue of the auto-updates. But then if I want to update a bunch, they will only do one by one, i have to close the store and open again after each updated app.
But even with app auto-updates, if i want to install one new app on my S2, it will only download, but not install, i have to close the store and open it again for it to install. Then the next time that I want to install an app, I have to do the same thing again, close and open. It's like the download manager doesn't tell the Play Store app to do the install (or tell whatever app or service to install the APK...)

After more research i've seen other people on other devices with same issue... no answer or solution in sight

I had an OTA update last night to NRD90M.T810XXU2DQCL and the play store is working better now but it is still slow to update.

I would check for OTA update but since i rooted mine, it won't do them...
I'd have to flash the stock rom from samsung again and loose my saved data... which right now i might be OK living without...
Anyone knows if I loose TWRP if i flash a stock rom with odin ? If so... am i better using Kies?

Wooooh, DON'T jump to conclusions here.
I was running the STOCK out of the box Android for the S2, no root, no TWRP. The issue started after one year of usage, and not only included updating apps but installing FRESH NEW ONES TOO.
The "flash this and that" came AFTER i ran into issues.
I also have a Note 5 supplied from work and for that reason I'm still runing stock, not rooted, and never will root it. I have over 100 apps on there, 5 email accounts (2 professionnal, 3 personnal), multiple google calendars, multiple outlook calendars, auto-update is on, it's been over a year and a half, if not more, and never ran into this kind of issue, ever! It's synced with my CPAP, my smart watch, and my headphones. And it's still goes the same speed and gives me the same performance as when i took it out of the box.
My tab S2 is my second Android tablet, before I had a Tab 3 that never gave me issues like that either, and always had auto-updates on.
Sometimes you need updates. Some online services might not work right or at all if you don't have the app that matches the features, like evernote, facebook, onedrive, dropbox, etc...
Or you get new hardware that requires an update.
Yes sometimes they include bugs ... which are fixed in a later version.

In my case I do have stock rom and have had issues with play store since update to Nought. It does seem better since last night's OTA update.

I saw multiple posts of people having different phones running stock having this exact issue for a while with no solution in view. I think it has to do with Nougat too... But my Note 5 is on Nougat and no issue... it might be brought on with specific services or apps running while on Nougat.

Thanks for letting me know about the OTA update. Since i was rooted, i can't get OTA updates, would have needed to wait for the 7.1 Rom to flash...
I ended up taking screenshots of the stuff i didnt want to loose (read/unread status of my pdf files, nevermind the save games) and then i used Samsung Smart Switch to reflash the whole thing back to strictly stock, lastest firmware. So far so good, crossing fingers

If that's the case, then clearly there must be some other issue with your s2.
Otherwise, you have merely confirmed what I have told in the very beginning: updates = bad performance and new issues in general. Period.

Yes in that year of usage I upgraded the OS from 5 to 6 to 7. Yes auto-update was on, for Android and for my apps. By stock rom i meant nothing flashed "this and that" like you said.
If you would read my other comments, you'd also realize that another member helped me more by letting me know there was an OTA update that helped him. I reflashed my S2 with Samsung Smart Switch and haven't had any issue with the Play Store since... that proves that updates do fix issues.
There's no OS versions, app versions, firmware versions on any devices that don't have any issues whatsoever. Updates might bring bugs but they also fix the ones from previous versions. If you think that anything stock out of the box never have any issues whatsoever, you're wrong.
Apps like evernote and facebook spy and track you? Really? And you're on a forum for Android based product and don't think that Google tracks what you do? If you dont sign in with your google account and only browse the web with your tablet, that's your business, but you can't go on forums and admonish people for doing otherwise.
Besides, this is a forum where a good part of the posts are about custom roms, flashing different boot/recovery loaders, different kernels, unlocking phones... and you're judging me because i do app updates, and flash "this and that" ?

Just be aware that Evernote steals content just like the FB messenger. And I mean literally. Your creative ideas become their property. You did agree to their terms! FB also records the mic(s) 24/7.
Certainly Google tracks and spies as well. Then again, you can deactivate or block (firewall) those services/apps.
Just remember, things that are *free* come with a price.

I came here after trying a lot of troubleshooting steps, when everything that I've tried failed. And someone else helped me.

I hope someone can help as I've searched this issue here and on Reddit and found various answers to the problem but no solutions. My brother has a Pixel 5 and the "media storage app" hogged around 50 gb of storage (same issue as Oneplus, however Oneplus solved it with an update) and filled the device. In my searches I found 3 answers; it's the media on the phone just displayed incorrectly, it is a wrong reading from the phone, or it is duplicated media which doubles the used storage (makes more sense as you'll see below).
Another Issue was Android System taking only 2 gb of space when normally it should be around 11-12 (as on my Pixel 2 and Pixel 4a), but this was solved with a wipe.
Due to various software issues with the phone I convinced him to do a complete wipe and reflashing of the stock firmware through Android flash tool. Also knowing Whatsapp caused weird issues in the past (with his Pixel 1) I also made him delete all previous backups from the phone and Google drive and clean his media (deleted only a few hundred mb) then back up again. The backup was 27 gb (not around 50 as media storage showed).
We did the wipe and flashing and everything worked well. But when we started restoring the data again and Whatsapp started restoring media then the Media Storage app started growing again, I am yet to determine if it is duplicating or not, but I am 100% convinced that there is something wrong because I checked my Pixel 2 with Android 11 and my Pixel 4a with Android 12 beta and in both cases this app barely takes a few mb of storage, all the other "media" is properly organized as it should be in it's respective category, on his phone though its all in "other".
I am really out of solutions other than wiping Whatsapp completely clean without media, only backing up chats, but this doesn't guarantee that all the media won't duplicate or fill up in Media storage again. At this point I'm thinking of waiting until Android 12 official but it also doesn't guarantee anything since it's not clear where the issue is coming from exactly.

The trouble it's causing is the least of it's damage potential. No social media app should ever be allowed to run as an app on the phone, period!!!

I totally understand the risks of using whatsapp but we can't just stop using it when everyone else is. Also I'm not 100% sure it's ONLY whatsapp causing this, there might be other apps as well.

The media storage process keeps increasing while I add files to the memory - let's say that I create a 4GB video, the media storage process is going to be almost as big in the apps section. It decreases equally when I delete something.
As a consequence the space occupied is nearly doubled (media + apps).
It seems to happen especially with media files such as pictures, audio and video files.
I reported the issue in the android 12 beta program feedback. However it sounds like it's not an urgent matter since it's been there for many releases and it is not clear how many people are affected.
I hoped that the last beta release - which is supposedly a mature one - would correct this bug and nope.

Hey, the last beta update, march 22 solved the issue. I had submitted the bug in August 21 and the ticket status turned to "fixed" in February.
A bit long but I guess issues are sorted by priority. Still really happy with the outcome.
Maybe you can spread the word on threads you've checked out so people can try the last beta release or wait for the next stable one.
That's great to know we can rely on such a support from the beta team, props to them !

Hi, I'm presently having this Media Storage expansion issue with Op 9RT. Just to be clear, as you said, the Media Storage issue is now solved in your Pixel 5, right? Asking it now because if Google can solve it, then there is a feint chance that someday OnePlus will also solve it!!!

Hello, yes I confirm that the media storage problem has been solved for the Pixel 5 in the latest version, here is an article written about it after I contacted android central in April.
This pesky Android storage bug was finally fixed and we almost didn't know
"Ghost storage" that can't be freed up will no longer haunt users.

Nice!!! Pixel isn't officially sold in our country as yet, the few we have are actually unlocked devices from US and they are so damn expensive! So, I'm stuck with my 9RT for now....... Hopefully, OP resolves this, may be with Android 13!

My M21 says it is up-to-date, but it isn't and I can't figure out why. I've even gone so far as to do a full factory reset, and still it won't update. The factory reset was the last option I knew.
Alot of google-searches resulted in the feeling that this is an isolated case.
Samsung Switch on PC also says the phone is up to date.
All my colleagues (it is a company phone) have the same model, and they have all received the updates long ago.
I've added screenshots of the software-information it is showing.
If anyone knows a solution to this, please let me know.

If the OS is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission... let it be! Upgrades can and do break things.
No rollback from 11 as it upgrades the bootloader version too. Let that soak in; it's a one way ticket once punched Mr Wick... consequences.
Android 9/10 best, Android 11* so-so, Android 12* is a mess... in my opinion.
With Pie and higher you are protected from the worst rootkits. Unless you do something stupid security and malware won't be an issue.
*do you really want cpu cycle sucking scoped storage fully active? Some apps like the old free version of WPS Office will most likely not load.
I was actually hoping that the update would fix some of the inconveniences I've noticed since I started using it.
Things like:
Random restarts while the phone is doing nothing, needing me to enter the PIN for both SIM's. Like in the middle of the night. The alarm still goes off in the morning, however it goes of at max volume... Or in the middle of a run (i use the phone for sports tracking), causing me to lose the workout data.
Random disconnects from bluetooth devices
Sometimes slowdowns for no apparant reason
Incredibly slow camera
This is a company phone, and before this I had a personal Nokia 8.1. Transitioning to the M21 just feels like a step back. It's slower and has more buggy behavior. I was hoping the updates would fix it, because rooting is against company policy.
And this is apart from the security updates that haven't come through since october 2020, while all colleagues with the same phone did get those updates.
And I'm also just curious why this one says it has the most recent updates, while it clearly doesn't. Whether I choose to install those updates is another matter. It just doesn't give me the choise.

This is a company phone, and before this I had a personal Nokia 8.1. Transitioning to the M21 just feels like a step back. It's slower and has more buggy behavior. I was hoping the updates would fix it, because rooting is against company policy.
And this is apart from the security updates that haven't come through since october 2020, while all colleagues with the same phone did get those updates.
And I'm also just curious why this one says it has the most recent updates, while it clearly doesn't. Whether I choose to install those updates is another matter. It just doesn't give me the choise.

That's not a stable load. I don't blame you for wanting to ditch it if that's the best it can do.
I never get random reboots or the rare crashes I see seldom require a reboot.
Make sure global power management is disable and that a 3rd party app isn't the cause.
It's possible that the firmware is corrupted; a reflash to the same rom might be a safer option.
Or you could try flashing the next OS version up... avoid 12 though. Lots of reported issues across the board with it, and lots of people doing rollbacks to ditch it.
This will probably get time intensive.
I bought a Samsung S23+ a week ago. I'm really like it. It's a significant improvement over my old S10.
However, sometimes when I open an app, it immediately closes. It just goes away. No error message, it just disappears. However, tapping on it again brings it up. It isn't consistent which app suddenly closes; it just does. And sometimes it's a major feature of Android, such as Messages. A few times I've tapped on Messages, it starts to come up, then closes immediately. But why does it do that? Is there anything I can do to stop it?

I'm sorry, I don't follow you. What do you mean by "clean load" and what's a "SmartSwitch"? What I have done is tried to open an app, like Messages, to have the app initially open, but the immediately close. Not always and not the same app.
And how do I clear the system cache?

I think by "clean load" he means booting up the phone and not restoring any previous backup from google or from the samsung account. Smartswitch is a samsung app that allows you to copy the data from one phone to another. It tends to cause some issues, or carry on issues from the previous smartphones.
I recently traded my N20U for a S23 and used smart switch for i didn't have all my stuff backed up. the phone was overheating and the battery was draining hella fast. I did a clean load and everything is fine; except for this problem of apps closing all of the sudden. Clean loading didn't fixed it for me.
To clear the system cache you have to enter the recovery mode by shutting down your phone and pressing power + volume up until it boots and goes into the recovery mode. From there you can delete the cache. I will try it later and report back.

Telegram, GBwhatsapp and twitter are very frequent. Once and a while a random app crashes, but happens twice a day at most. IK GB is a modded app but it and none of the other apps displayed this behaviour on my previous phones.

Ditch them; no social media or sales apps should ever be installed. Multi vector security risks and resource hogs. If you must use them login through a secure browser like Brave only. They simply aren't worth all the trouble they will cause.
Instead of Telegram try the Samsung messaging app. The Samsung app runs well for me, no issues. Not the solution you probably wanted but time to take out the trash... it's stinking up the place.

While i do understand and agree on the resource and security aspect, and shoulda' coulda' woulda' stopped using them, as i have done in the past and still do to this day with some of them, for a few reasons i need to be using some socials nowadays, and have done so for a few years without much hassle until this phone came in. If i could have ditched them, I wouldn't have come to a forum to figure out a way to fix the issue.
But I'll check how functional the web version of some of my socials work on mobile, for it's been a while i haven't used them and they used to lack functions.

They tend to be a mess. They probably aren't up to date with the latest Android version or Samsung has some glitches with their new firmware. One reason I don't upgrade firmware or update apps is because the phone is running well. In your case perhaps it's going the be a game of upgrade/update roulette.
Is power management active? Any disabled apps or services? Setting changes to system apps? Is a firewall installed? In Accessibility are there any services installed for those apps? For Android 11 and higher there maybe more settings... Samsung's notorious for burying them.

Gave a shot at updating the firmware; it boosted the performance a little bit, the battery is lasting way longer and the apps are closing less.
I ran a bugreport of a full day of use through battery historian and i found something strange, all app crashes are attributed to com.google.android.providers.media.module (which a quick google told me it's the MediaProvider Module from AOSP). Is there something i can do about it?
idk about power management but i have adaptive battery on, and i put discord to sleep; disabled google, meets and chrome; no settings changed; no firewall installed; all accessivility settings are off and no apps are using those permissions. I ****ed around a lil bit and toggled some of the samsung stuff off, but there might still be something buried, yes.

Adaptive battery is global power management. To verify it's on: Developer options>standby apps, the app bucket states will be varied if it on ie active, frequently, rarely etc.
When off they will always show as active and you can not change the bucket state (it seems to take but after a refresh it hasn't).
This lame feature never worked and uses much more battery than if the the device is hand optimized. It can cause erratic behaviors.
If you deal with the power hog correctly the results are apparent within hours not days or weeks. Lol, Gookill tends to get more stupid over time, not smarter That said hand optimizing takes time but the results are much better and yield a substantial increase in SOT, standby time as well as a snappier, cooler running device.
Optimizing is somewhat trial and error at first and a bit tricky. It eventually becomes almost second nature. This N10+ was a stuttering hot running power hog before it was optimized, now it runs like a bat out of hell. Try temporarily disabling Google play Services and see what that does. Gmail, Playstore and Google backup Transport are dependencies, simply turn on if needed. Kill the notifications for too so it doesn't nag you constantly. See if that helps your issues.
Use Device Care>memory>optimize. Install SD Maid Pro to do more clean up, it's a very useful app. A logging firewall can be very useful for tracking down issues, lets you see what's being busy in the background using data and resources.
com.google.android.providers.media.module, interesting. Apparently it's caused trouble going back to 2011 from time to time. It's a needed service. Go through all the Google account settings. It's good to explore all setting options anyway. Maybe try clearing the Media Storage app cache and check the settings.
I'm more clueless than you why this happening.
Maybe someone here knows why it's puking on you. Otherwise play with it, eventually you'll track the cause down but it may take a while.
If you're in the US you could go to a Samsung Experience center at best buy; they allegedly can run advanced diagnostic tests on it.

All my apps are active and i cannot flick the switch so i guess it's off. i turned adaptive battery off on battery and device care > battery > more battery settings.

While i'm aware of some optimization techniques, it's been so long since I actually felt the need to tweak something it's actually surreal. My two previous phones were a Mi A2 and a N20U (for almost three years), and I didn't mess around for basically nothing. they ran absolutely fine, I thought my XDA days were gone
But anyways, I did the following: After updating the firmware, I disabled and cleaned the media provider app cache and cleaned the system cache. The phone got immediately snappier, but some of the crashes were still happening. I ruled the Whatsapp crashes to a faulty backup, since I noticed it happened when I open certain chats. idk how to fix this so I just deleted the chat; the com.google.android.providers.media.module crash count went down from 10 to 4 on my two last battery cycles. Something is still crashing, but possibly in the background. I'll keep monitoring it.
Is there any other thread that shows the ropes of optimizing samsung devices aside from this one?

WhatsApp... ditch the trashware. An unstable OS can end up turning into a boot loop very quickly.
Any app that's misbehaving and can't be sorted out gets uninstalled or package disabled.
Find and correct the root cause(s).
All I ever played with are Samsung's and all needed to be optimized. There are numerous posts I've made of it but you see my post count; even I be hard pressed to ferret them all out.
I've thought about starting a thread but I run 9 and 10, plus I have mine configured to my device and needs. So what works well for me may be useless to others. It's a steep learning curve that works best if you learn the what's and why's rather than blindly implementing someone else's list. Eventually you get a feel for it by playing with it. That comes in handy when
Other than Package Disabler I deal with everything through the UI settings, and with 3rd party add ons; no adb edits. The result is a very stable stock Samsung that runs well and a very long lived load. OneUI has a bug. I used to see app crashing pop-ups quite frequently during the initial period on my S22U. The same build and version of apps ran absolutely fine on my other devices, which too were running on the same Android version as my S22U.
Over time, due to optimisations and updates from Samsung, the number of such pop-ups have reduced to almost none now.

i've never downgraded/flashed any firmware on this device before, so before i do something that might be fatal/result in bricking my phone i would like to ask is it possible to downgrade a S20 FE android 13 to android 11? while my one ui version is 5.1 i haven't updated the security patch to the april one (the one that changes your binary) it's currently the 1 march 2023 one
i've already checked & downloaded a firmware with the correct binary number so now all i need to do is flash it

You're limited by the bootloader version to how far you can roll it back. If the bootloader was upgraded too, you're boned. The 5th digit from the rear is the significant digit that determines that. If the rom's 5th digit is the same or higher value you can flash it. If lower, no go.

Hi, I downgraded my S20 FE several times from 13 to 12 with the same binary (obviously) with no issues at all, so you can downgrade easily.
In my experience on samsung devices (literally I flashed a hundred times on different devices) it's very unlikely that you brick your device with odin, even if you use a wrong firmware for your device....the only thing that it may brick a device is because it has a hardware damage

Or if the battery has insufficient charge or capacity. Any time you flash a device you take some level of risk. A power outage with no or insufficient battery backup for the PC would also end badly.
The risk is also greater with Androids because it's not a small couple dozen MB flash that's done in seconds. Lots more time and data for things to go wrong. If my Canon pro cam had a bad flash, Canon would likely repair for free or a reasonable charge. Samsung will do neither of these... repair cost plus a new mobo loaded with the latest firmware. perfect.

the CSC_HOME file
comes in the software you just downloaded.
unlike normal CSC.
The CSC_HOME is used to only update the system, without deleting anything.
in your case you are going to downgrade, use the normal CSC without _home.

I'm referring about samsung devices based on my experience (trial and error), I had a lot of bricks, soft bricks and I was able to solve it with odin.

If it's a specific issue finding a work around may be easier.
Android 11 is no picnic either. I prefer Pie, Android 10 is ok; I'm running both and will likely never upgrade them.
Regardless you will need to lock it down so it can't do OTA upgrades/updates. That's the first thing I do on my Samsung's... once bitten, twice shy Upgrades and updates can and do break Samsung's... then you have find work arounds and fixes.

other than battery run out faster & the phone feeling a bit sluggish nothing specific....it's just i've already debloated my phone & disabled many features of the phone that i dont use and dont plan on updating my phone anymore and while that does help improve things quite significantly i just thought at this point why dont i just might aswell downgrade the phone
before i had this phone i was fine staying years with a phone that stopped receiving updates after android 6 lol just that it eventually ran its course and after several hardware problems & the phone giving up by itself (every 3 weeks or so it'll get stuck on bootloop for no reason) i assume it was time for me to buy a new one...too bad

I'm glad that's working well for you. I use to always be playing with my PC's like that. With Androids I took a more conservative approach; less down time, more play time.
I leave the firmware be on my 2 stock N10+'s. They run very good, fulfill their mission and it's simply not worth the risk or time. I don't allow firmware upgrades or updates. This N10+ in my hand is still running on Pie, firmware is 3.5 yo, and the current load will be 3 yo this June. No malware in all that time; security isn't an issue. Still fast, very stable with minimal maintenance. It's also heavily optimized and running well; I have zero incentive to change the playing field by altering the firmware.
My SQlite scores are lower than they should be in spite of my fast disk r/w scores so eventually I may do a factory reset to try to resolve that. Lol, that's the full extent of my ambition at the moment.

yep. i learned the hard way
i'm quite green at this stuff and at first i just thought "more upgrades & updates means good! i should get the most out of this device" but alas after some serious overheating & battery draining problems over loads of features i dont even use.....

Anything below Android 9 is suspectable to partition worming nasties like Xhelper. Run Android 9 or higher. Android 9 is relatively secure unless you do stupid things.
All Samsung's should be optimized. You will still have scoped storage running on Android 11 anyway. If you don't mind the UI of Android 13 I would try to find what's causing the issues.
Disable global power management then go after the power hogs on an individual case by case basis. A logging firewall is useful in finding them. Cloud, and social media apps are prime offenders. Try temporarily disabling Google play Services and see if this helps; Google backup Transport, Gmail and Playstore are dependencies of it. Enable as needed. 5G can also suck a lot of power and is inefficient when doing small bandwidth transfers. Wifi isn't needed if you have an unlimited data plan. Use Package Disabler or abd/ladb edits to take out the really problem apps that can't be resolved in settings. Don't go too nuts though; target the hogs and totally worthless apps like Digital Wellbeing. Most of the dozens a small Samsung system apps are best left alone as many modify the UI and consume very little resources. Understand what the app does and it's dependencies if any before disabling whenever possible.

All Samsung's should be optimized. You will still have scoped storage running on Android 11 anyway. If you don't mind the UI of Android 13 I would try to find what's causing the issues.

i've done all that hahahah
other than youtube i don't have any other social media apps installed and i've already got rid of chrome & switched to a lighter browser
yep i like to experiment, i suppose the flashing stuff is the next step after all of that (yes have tried factory reset several times too, i don't mind as there aren't any important data in my phone but still, possibly getting a priceful item bricked over my messing around isn't something i'm too excited about, that's why i still like to ask around)
also what got me the idea was that i've also read from several people with the same device saying that with every android updates the phone gets even more sluggish

I learned the hard way with Samsung's too.
After the upgrade to 13 did you do a factory reset? If not, now is the time. Don't use SmartSwitch; do a clean load by importing all the critic data yourself.
At the very least clear the system cache.
I use Package Disabler to disable about 70 apps. It's not as bad as it first seems. Android 10 literally has about 100 more new system apps than 9. Most of those new ones should be left alone. My disable list for the Android 9 N10+ vs the Android 10 one is almost identical though.
Samsung's do lots of cool things so don't be too concerned until you learn more about the features. Bixby got killed right out of the gate; it's a hog and it's EULA is one of the worst I've ever read.
