Question How to overclock? - Redmi Note 10S

How to overclock my rn10s?
İ don't find any kernel. How to rewrite any kernel for overclock?

I can't help you with rewriting a Kernel to suit your needs, but I know that Redmi Note 10s has only one Custom Kernel developed, the name is GENOM Kernel. Hope it helps

Normally there is more. But the developers haven't shared yet.
That's why I want to write my own.

roms have nothing to do with kernel source, just kernels
luckily enough the other variants had kernel source out already and were close enough so i already know the new tricks samsung included it the source

Kernel sources do indeed help in ROM creation though. Helps so one does not have to hack up a kernel to use.

you can make a rom without ever touching the kernel. and without kernel source all you can do is unpack it and edit the text files in the ramdisk. its not really hacking.

As he stated it needs to be disabled via defconfig which means you need the source and to compile the kernel yourself. Stupid simple just need the source
Hmm. I Will try it then. Is there any good articles you know for learning basic kernel repacking I mean yes I can search it too but if you suggest anything? Do I need anymore then basic coding ?
Sorry but I'm really noob on the kernels.
I just know pack-repack apks, I know some apktool and some update script for recovery.
AFAIK there is source code for note 5 do I need more then that ? Like exynos sources ? It's didn't released though.

You need to do more than just unpack and pack the boot.img.
You also need to a pc with Linux to compile the kernel. Ubuntu is the most common/used in guides as it's pretty simple "install and play" distro. Personally use/prefer Arch.
But @TheSickness has a pretty legit guide and script for the s6 which should be easily used/adapted for the n5.

AOSPA [CAF] for Nexus 5

Hello,
As some of you already notice I'm working on AOSPA 7.1.x for Nexus 5. When this project becomes stable AOSPA Team will consider about supporting it officially with me as maintainer of course.
So, I will share with you, my progress so far.
To-do List:
Fix audio effects problem
Rework device repo [need to cleanup]
Fix camera not saving photos
Device specific features:
Switch from mpdecision to autosmp (better battery life)
cpu-boost optimizations
implement task's adj rbtree (LMK improvement)
disabled cpu retention (hh bugfix)
vsync workaround (hh bugfix)
This looks very promising!

It's caf based like LineageOS. But no, you can't install franco kernel. only the ones who supports caf roms.
YES, YES! It looks really tempting. Right now, a CAF base is much better for the Nexus 5 than an Aosp one. It's very nice to see something new based on CAF. Hope you will continue this project. Thanks and good luck.
I need someone who has Nexus 5 as second device to test and generate logs when I need as I'm using my n5 as main phone and have to backup and restore every single time.

I just got my 6P screen replaced today so my N5 is once again a backup. I know how to pull logs. If you need a tester I'm all in, send me a PM.
A tester here, as soon as it's ready.
Can't wait :good: good job :highfive:
I've been testing this for Marco during the past 2 weeks and everything works great. You guys have a reason to be excited and I know you won't be disappointed once it is released, which should be soon. I want to thank Marco for letting me be a part of his team and I praise all the hard work he has put into the ROM so it runs perfectly on our device.
I also want to test it, has someone have the latest build link? PM me, thanks

The ROM is stable already, we don't need any testers. you have to wait until the official release :fingers-crossed:

Hey! I read in the Dark ROM CAF threads that a CAF ROM won't work if the screen is replaced by a non-OEM screen. Since PA is based off CAF now, I suppose it will be true for PA too? Can anyone confirm and is yes, is there a workaround or something?

Yes. The fact is true.
Do we need to flash CAF recovery before installing this caf based rom ?
Thanks for all the hard work you guys, this rom has been one of the bests in the history of custom roms and this is a great comeback.
Is it going to be released this week? once again thanks, can't even wait!

You know if there'll be monthly security updates? I've loved PA for PIE and i'd install it if something like that'll be available

I'm also waiting for developer to make a custom kernel/custom rom
When snapdragon 710 got tweak something like CPU Frequency...it will par as snapdragon 845... I'm sure
Got myself custom kernel running on my phone (with KCAL advanced color control) but no wi-fi... Will try to figure what's wrong with wi-fi.

Done compiled custom kernel for MI8 SE, all thing is working with china stable rom 10.2.1.0. Because that custom kernel is my private build for my own purposes (KCAL is a must for me), if anyone want to test that kernel, drop me a pm

Hey nice to hear that. Finally a custom kernel for this awesome device... Keep up the good job bro!! ?
Please make a new thread for your kernel. More people will come to know about it & probably you'll find some testers too
I really hope this device gets more active developer support ???

Agreed. SD 710 is a very capable SoC. The only thing holding it back is the lack of developer support. It'd be a pity if it's power goes to waste man...
A good custom kernel & ROM would really shine on this SoC.
As I see in the kernel source code, SDM710 is capable to overclock big core to 2.6Ghz and GPU to 780Mhz. The problem is default config for building SDM710 DTB files in orignal sirius-o-oss kernel source doesn't work with any rom (I must write a code to extract DTB working in boot.img of current rom and combine it to my kernel to make custom kernel working).
Make a kernel compatible with android pie
Just upload a new version of my custom kernel for testing in this thread of Masik X (I'm using that rom atm).
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78509862&postcount=32
I think the kernel will work with other rom based on Android 8.1 too but steps to install in depend rom, some rom need install custom kernel before root (china stable), some rom need install root before custom kernel (Masik rom). AVB signed boot make this step too confused...
No custom kernel yet?

Franco Kernel coming to our Mi A2?

Hay guys!
I just wanted to ask you if you guys have any information if Franco kernel is coming to our beloved mi a2. Because it does have some awesome battery life and tons of useful features.
Any information will do. Quotes, rumors. Anything.
I'm actually not gonna unlock my bootloader until he releases the kernel for our device.
You can share your information about Ex Kernel too! <3
Regards.
Nope.. As he don't have the device..

I've heard that he is planning on building a kernel in future (buying the device) one of the main reasons why i bought this phone.
Can't remember from where did i heard that tho.
