[GUIDE] How to convert your Wiko UFeel Prime into a YU Yureka Black (with another Android) - Yu Yureka Black Guides, News, & Discussion

So, i've been tinkering a bit for days over my Wiko UFeel Prime (i had even heard this one is the "clone" of the YU Yureka Black and/or viceversa around) and found a ton of problems at first due to the manufacturer (Tinno) putting a ton of "walls" to make modding impossible, like:
Removing various Fastboot commands (oem unlock, oem unlock-tinno, reboot edl, general bootloader info, refuses reboots to recovery, bootloader and system, etc.);
Making updates/downgrades impossible, just in case last time you've touched the device and upgraded to the latest firmware from Wiko (fun fact: the update app pings a site called https://frogs.wiko-ota.com, but sadly it has never been archived before and nowadays shows chinese text saying how the content doesn't exist) and you're completely stuck with the shady apps and trackers Tinno put on their P7 board;
You couldn't use stuff like adb push or upgrade from recovery because they force you to use their proprietary tool on Windows to do such (they bundle all of their firmware updates into an huge .exe file, despite being inside a .zip file);
And more...
Despite everything, i found one crack into the phone to take advantage of: you can reboot on EDL mode via adb
And that's where my guide begins!
Requirements:​In order to convert your Wiko to a Yureka Black, you must need...
Your Wiko UFeel Prime (whatever firmware, either it is M or N);
Another Android phone (must have: Magisk root, OTG Cable support);
An OTG adapter;
A charging cable (must be able to transfer data);
Preparing your rooted Android device:​Moving on, your device must have the following apps installed
ADB & Fastboot Tools;
Fox's Magisk Module Manager;
Terminal Emulator;
After got the latter, do the following steps afterwards
Open the Fox MMM app;
Tap the search button (placed on the bottom right corner of the screen);
Type "QDL" or "Qualcomm" into the bar;
You should find a tool called QDL For Android NDK;
Tap on "Install";
Tap on "Install Module";
Wait for the module to install;
Reboot your device;
After reboot, open the ADB & Fastboot tools app;
Allow root perms;
As a last step (for now), you must hop over the YU Yureka Black QFIL files page and download the zip file under the Stock M File hyperlink- after doing that, extract the .zip file wherever you want (with your fav file explorer of choice) (for simplicity's sake: extract the zip out of the Download folder. After extraction, rename the "YU5040" etc. etc. folder as simply "yu"- the purpose of it will come in handy further on the guide).
As of now, leave your secondary phone as is and move to the Wiko phone.
Preparing your Wiko UFeel Prime:​If you had setup your secondary phone successfully: preparing your Wiko phone will be 10 times easier than the latter.
Just follow thru the following steps:
Go to Settings;
Tap on the "About" section of your device;
Tap a ton of times on the Build number, until the following will tell you you had unlocked Developer Settings;
Go back;
Tap on Developer Settings;
Scroll until you find USB Debug and enable it;
As a last thing, if you prefer, jump straight to the home menu (on your Wiko), then lay the phone together with the other device on a safe spot where nobody could interfere on the work.
The next title will introduce you to the "delicate" part of the guide: but also the moment where your Wiko will finally get converted as a YU Yureka Black and allow modding!
Converting your Wiko:​Now, follow carefully the steps i'm about to give
On your secondary device​
Open the ADB & Fastboot tools app;
Connect on the device's slot the OTG cable;
On your Wiko​
Connect the charging cable to it's slot;
Connect the cable's end (the USB part) to the OTG slot attached to the other device;
Tap on "Allow" if it asks you about USB debug (or generally allowing a pc to get access to the device);
On your secondary device​
Tap on the "Refresh" button (placed on the top right part of the app's UI);
Scroll on the bottom of the screen;
Type reboot edl on the writing camp;
Tap "Execute" (which is next to the zone where you wrote the command);
If you came this far and your Wiko effectively turned off plus the notification LED started blinking RED: this means your Wiko successfully booted into EDL mode!
Now, let's move on the focus to your secondary device.
On your secondary device​
Quit the ADB & Fastboot tools app;
Open the Terminal Emulator app;
Write the following commands:

After typed these commands on the terminal, copy and paste this string of code on your terminal:

Once done, tap send on your keyboard and let the program do it's magic.
The wait should vary depending on your secondary device's specs (approximates 1h at max) and the speed on writing the .mbn, .img, and .tz files inside the folder over the Wiko's board- also, pro-tip, be sure to check often on your secondary device (by tapping it's screen often).
The reason?
it will avoid the device to go into sleep mode (especially if you set the backlight to a short period of time) and once unlocked it restarts the whole flashing all over again, extending the flashing wait the double.
If an accident happens (like it happened in my case) you must resort on disassembling your device's back and short the pins with some tweezers to enter back EDL mode manually, and also repeating the flashing process by pasting again the code string on the terminal.

After the long wait, you should see the following behaviors:
Your secondary device will flag a disconnection on the QDL program (via terminal);
Your Wiko phone will vibrate and start booting up, showing the YUREKA BLACK text as the splash screen;
Now you can finally unlock your bootloader (note: you must type unlock-go to do the latter) and flash your device however you like!​Thanks for following my guide!​---------------------

This thread could be usefull for to get informations and modding istructions about the tablet Teclast X98 Air 3G.
I'm waiting for delivery via dhl and i guess some of the user here could think that the air 3G is an interesting tablet considering dimensions, cpu, display and the dual OS support .
I would like to point out that given the architecture and hardware of this tablet since the Teclast has released firmware for Android (standard) and Windows 8.1 (still in beta), even though I opened the thread in the Android tablet could be open also a thread in the Windows 8 section.
It was necessary to open a new thread because following the thread on the x98 Air teclast someone has mistakenly flashed a firmware dell'X98 air thinking it would go well on the X98 air 3G.

WINDOWS 8.1 => ANDROID PROCEDURE (thanks to Frontier)​
Required materials:
- A Teclast X98 Air 3G (obviously), battery sufficiently charged (recommended to be fully charged the battery before starting the process). The tablet will be running Windows 8.1 or in FastBoot mode
- The Android DnX BIOS (or Android BIOS) from here
- Tin last available (this season) Android ROM for the X98 Air 3G: X98_Air3G_(C6J6)-Android4.4.2-V1.10.7z
-The tools of the platform upgrade Intel (Intel Manufacturing Tools). These are available in two versions, the newer and older . Start with the newest and if do not work on your computer, install the older version. Only one version must be installed on your computer.
Upgrade Preparation tool (Intel Manufacturing Tools)
- Unzip the computer you use to convert (not tablet), the Android ROM given above.
- Unzip one of the two available sets of tools Intel Manufacturing Tools. Inside the folder, you will find some executables that run in the following order and always with administrator privileges:
iSocUSB-Driver-Setup-xxxexe: At some point during the installation, you will know that you have to connect the X98 with USB cable to the computer to install the NAND drivers. H connection is necessary otherwise you can install to see and shape the NAND memory of tablet.
IntelAndroidDrvSetupx.xxexe: We run this installer as an administrator with the tablet plugged in USB. This will install the ADB driver Intel, which appears in the Device Manager (Device Manager) for Windows. (See the picture Figure_1)
ManufacturingFlashTool_Setup_x.xxexe: This tool is used in the final planning "name" (branding) of the tablet and install the fastboot kernel. Install with administrator rights on the proposed application folder (hold down the name of the file for the next step).
- Upon completion of the installation of the Intel Manufacturing Tool, copy the file "CUSTOM_CONFIG.INI" into the folder that the tool was installed (the default is C: \ Program Files \ Intel \ Manufacturing Flash Tool).

- Unzip the Android DnX BIOS directly into the Windows installation on X98 Air 3G.
- Run with administrative rights (from command line) flash.bat file inside the folder BIOS_X98_Air_3G_android. H process starts with the completion of the installation DnX BIOS displays the message "FPT Operation Passed".
- Turn off the tablet holding the POWER button for 10 seconds.
- Run Intel Manufacturing Tool as administrator.
- On the tablet, hold the VOL +, VOL- and POWER until you see the logo of the Teclast. The tablet will be "stuck" there, is perfectly normal. Connect the tablet to the USB port on your computer, so you will receive the following message: "Entering DnX mode. Waiting for fastboot command..."
- In the Device Manager of Windows (Device Manager), find the Android ADB Interface and right-click -> Properties (Properties). In the window that appears, go to the Details (Details) and there in the drop-down menu choose the Hardware ID (Hardware IDs). Our interest rates VID and PID, as shown in the picture Figure_2.
Transfer the VID and PID values ​​in the respective fields of Manufacturing Tool, section SoC Devices.
- Disables the tablet holding the POWER button for 10 seconds and disconnect the USB.
- We keep the tablet down the VOL- and POWER to enter the mode droidboot. Once this happens, connect the USB cable again, go to the Device Manager Windows (Device Manager) and - as before - we find the values ​​of the PID & VID Android ADB Interface (values ​​are different from the previous Figure_3
Transfer prices PID & VID Manufacturing Tool in their respective fields of unity "Android devices", so o Dialogue Manufacturing Tool will be something like shown in the picture. Press "Apply" and "OK" to save the parameters. Close the application.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the tablet and disable.
- Xanatrechoume the Intel Manufacturing Tool as managers and go to the menu File -> Open. There, choose the folder of ROM (X98_Air_3G_ (C6J6)), find the file "flash.xml" and open it.
- We keep the tablet down the VOL +, VOL- and POWER in order to display the logo of running Teclast DnX, connect the USB cable and Intel Manufacturing Tool begins the process of flashing Android ROM. Wait until the process is complete, disconnect the tablet from the USB and disable the X98 Air 3G.
The conversion process in Android tablet has been completed.
3D GAMES FREEZES FIX (thanks to Akitoyo and acc007)​You can download the patch from here: patch for 3D games freezes
Then follow these steps:
1. Copy the update.zip to the root path of internal storage
2. Click OTA icon, then choose local update
3. Choose update.zip file then apply it, system will reboot automatically
4. There will be a new icon "Fastmode" on the desktop, choose it before launching large 3D games.
You must click it again if you reboot the tablet then play 3D games

If you don't want use apk, use adb shell and then su to become root.Then launch these commands:

If you want a persistent fix, also after reboot you can create new file install-recovery-2.sh file and put it in ./etc folder with these istructions:

Remember remount /system as rw and chmod this neely created file to 755. You can then execute it or restart to have it automatically started.

GOOGLE PLAY STORE FIX (thanks to Frontier and Hendrickson)​Anyone having issues with Google Play Store - this applies to both Air 3G with the latest 2.0.1 update (will post more information later) and Air II - please apply this fix.
Your OS should be rooted in order for this to work.

TECLAST X98 AIR 3G ANDROID KITKAT 4.4.4 ROM(OFFICIAL) v2.0.0 (thanks to Frontier)​Download the upgrade from here.
You also need the Intel Manufacturing Tools (get them from here).
After installing this ROM upgrade, you need to apply the Google Play store fix (links and instructions just above).
The procedure to install this ROM is described above in this post. Just ignore the part that describes how to flash the Android BIOS to the tablet, as it is not needed in this case.
This upgrade will erase all data in the internal flash storage (32GB), so make sure you have a recent backup for your applications.
This ROM is OTA safe, after installation the Teclast Software Updater will notify you for an updated ROM; install the update (it's quite small) so the final ROM version would be v2.0.1_20141505 (see Teclast_X98_Air_3G_Android_4_4_4.png).
Visible changes:
- Intel Firmware Updater Tool inside the Android system; you can use it to flash .bin files directly to the tablet within Android (dual-boot system).
- Google Play Store enhancements; I can install applications now that I couldn't with 4.4.2 release (e.g Google+, Paypal and various e-Banking apps).
- A (little) faster boot.
MICROPHONE GAIN FIX FOR ANDROID 4.4.4 (thanks to Frontier)​Here is the final version of the microphone gain fix.
Tests done:
- Voice recognition using Google Now and Google voice typing (even in Greek) works as good as on my OnePlus One with CM11s 44R
- GSM/3G voice calls are clear (I am using Wind GSM network) both with the built-in microphone and via Bluetooth headset (Samsung WEP210).
- Skype voice/video calls are clear, both with internal microphone and the Bluetooth headset.
Connect the tablet with USB cable to a PC with android debug bridge installed.
The tablet needs to have USB debugging enabled.
Open shell and cd to the location of new audio configuration file.
On a PC shell write:

adb push AudioConfigurableDomains.xml /system/etc/parameter-framework/Settings/Audio
adb shell
In the adb shell write:
cd /system/etc/parameter-framework/Settings/Audio
chmod 644 AudioConfigurableDomains.xml

XPOSED ON 4.4.4 (thanks to majkel_94)​Ok guys, thanks to @jcespi2005 for Xposed ASUS mod which steer me to the correct solution in xda topic for Xposed
So here it is:
Downolad Xposed Installer (2.6.1 has been tested, modules working ok), install it but don't launch the app or install framework.
Download Root Browser, install and open it.
In root browser:
go to the /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/ and create folder "conf" (permissions rwxrwxrwx)
in folder "conf" create the file "jit_reset_offset" (permissions rw-r--r--)
Download Terminal Emulator, install and open it. Then:
type "su"
type "echo 0x98 > /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/jit_reset_offset"
Reboot the tablet.
Open Xposed Installer, install framework, reboot.
Profit! You have working the latest Xposed and working KK Gravitybox!
Remember: You can disable xposed at boot by repeatedly pushing a hardware button as the tablet begins to boot. For example you can use Vol + button.

The flash tool does not like funny characters ,should clear up some confusion as to why things aren't working.So before to flash please try removing the chinese characters from the file name. It screwed you up on something else having chinese in the name.
At 0%: Well, reconnect your device again, check your VID and PID values in settings, check if your drivers are properly installed, replace a cable if it is faulty, check that you're in DNX mode, basically, the flashing didn't even start.
If you have the right pid/vid from the device manager,unplug the device, close the app and restart it, select the flash.xml (should say ready to flash) then plug the device in while in DnX mode and it should begin.
At 5%: Mostly due to the fact that "Custom_config.ini" was not copied to the IMT directory, or there are some other programs that is blocking the progress, try changing a computer and flash again.
At 10 or 11%: Mostly due to wrong settings or parameters, check Device Manager in Windows for any missing drivers, check that the downloaded ROM is not damaged, or that the tablet is not already bricked. Also, this software is very sensitive to the USB port that it was first installed on, so try plugging it back to the same USB port that you plugged it during the install process. (Yes, you have to plug the device in during the install process, if you missed this out, uninstall all the drivers and redo the installation properly).Sometime help to try a different ROM, just to clarify you have copied the "custom_config" file to the Intel Manufacturer Tool folder right. It should get to 10% for about 5-10 seconds then make a disconnection sound and suddenly jump to 15% and continue.
At 89 or 90%: The files written at this stage are larger, so it might take a while longer, but if it is really stuck here, probably the USB cable is faulty. Replacing a cable and flashing again should solve the problem, or just simply leave the tablet and cables still (do not move them around) and try again.
If the flash freezes at 90% a solution could to be increase the timeout values in the program facturing flash tool.
At any other points: Might be due to faulty cables, or simply just try again!
2) Q: I flashed android bios, now I can not get in to droidboot mode by pressing Vol + and POWER. The tablet always gets into EFI shell command interface. I can only get to DnX mode by pressing VOL+ , VOL- and POWER. Any solutions?
A: Follow this steps valid for C6J6 and C8J7 model :
Open Intel manufacturing tools,then open file menu and go to the settings.
Put this value to SoC Devices: VID: 8087 PID:0A65
Put this value to Androird Device: VID: 8087 PID: 09EF
Click on apply and then on ok.
Disconnect the USB cable from the tablet and turn off your tablet (important)
Download the Android 4.4.4 ROM for C6J6 and C8J7 by supercows (link above)
Then in Intel Manufacturing Tool and go to the menu File -> Open. There, choose the folder of X98 Air 3G (C8J7.C6J6) lite 4Gb or 8GB and choice "flash.xml" for your device 4Gb or 8GB and open it.
Keep pressed VOL +, VOL- and POWER button until the tablet go to the dnx mode
Connect the USB cable and Intel Manufacturing Tool begins the process of flashing Android ROM.
Wait until the process is complete.
Disconnect the tablet from the USB and and turn off your tablet .
Connect the usb keyboard to the tablet and turn on your tablet, you could get shell command error again
Just type exit and you see the tablet go to the android version
When go to the android you must change your bios with ifwiupdate and you can flash dualboot bios or new android bios from first post
3) Q: I have problems getting into Android from the dual boot menu! Windows is okay.
A: If there are any problems getting into Android from the dual boot menu, change this option in the BIOS. Change "Boot Architecture" to "OS Boot Menu Only".

4) Q: After shutting down the table in Windows, it takes very long before I can power it on again.
A: Turn off "Fast Startup" option in Windows Power Options. Another way is to navigate to "C:\Windows\System32", find "SlidetoShutDown.exe" and use that to shut down.
5) Q: The time in Android and Windows is not synchronised!
A: Go to "Run", type in "regedit", then navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\TimeZoneInformation
Add in a new REG_DWORD, "RealTimeIsUniversal" and set its value to 1
6) Q: I plugged the tablet into the charger and it shows as charging but after a while I noticed that the battery percentage dropped!
A: Check the cable, it should be of good quality and as short as possible. Original teclast cable is good, not too long and thick enough. Best to use short cable of 5cm. This is due to high current and low voltage of the tablet.
7) Q: I'm on Android 4.4.2 and this tutorial needs me to upgrade to 4.4.4. How
A: Go to post #2, download the 4.4.4 ROM from there, start by following the tutorial from the line "WINDOWS 8.1 => ANDROID PROCEDURE (thanks to Frontier)" onwards all the way until you reach GOOGLE PLAY STORE FIX (thanks to Frontier). If you see the line "From Windows host -> Android guest (conversion to Android tablet)" in the tutorial, do not worry, because this process is used for both purposes, from Android to Android or Windows to Android, both are applicable.
8) Q: I flashed my tablet to dual boot OS already, but now I want to reinstall only one OS! How can I do it without having to reinstall everything?
A: If you want to reinstall Android only (leaving Windows unharmed):
One way is to flash just "system.img" through the Intel Manufacturing Tools (try this way first).
Download from here the zip named "ONLY FLASH system.img": http://1drv.ms/1s8dci8
Replace the "flash.xml" in your ROM folder with the one in this version.
Then flash as per normal using IMT.
This "flash.xml" will instruct the IMT to flash only the "system.img" file which is Android OS.
If that doesn't work, we will try flashing all components of the ROM without re-partitioning the whole eMMC,

Enter BIOS by pressing "ESC" key during boot and under the "Save and Exit" menu, scroll down to the "Boot Override" option, find the USB drive and select it to boot from it. The BIOS restart the tablet and will boot into the USB Drive so Windows install should start.
Remember the USB bootable stick must be created with Fat32 file system and GPT table partitioning.

Probably you forgot to format your EXT4 partition on the SD CARD as "PRIMARY PARTITION."
Please make sure the EXT4 Partition which should be smaller than FAT32 partition, must be set as "PRIMARY" (FAT 32 as well).
Then, use LINK2SD on the Rooted Android, it works fine and allows apps to be moved to the EXT4 partition on the SD card.

If you don't see windows icon it means the USB is not bootable.Try getting into bios and see if the USB drive is detected and check the file system on your windows usb drive it should be FAT32. Often the problem is inside the bios, maybe is enabled the options the EFI format on the boot option, disabled it the icon of windows appears and then you can started the installation.
18) Q: I start from Windows 8.1 then I installed the Dual Boot Bios (No problem).
I restart to the bios, power down the tablet and power up again and use the Windows 8.1 again (without reinstall anything) with 60hz. Make a shortcut on your desktop to C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState Hibernate
and save it as "Hibernate" for instance.You can pin it to start as well.When you will run this shurtcut tablet will hibernate. Remember that after you will run this command (shortcut) you need to wait a bit before you will be able to switch on again (10-15 sec) . Do not try to switch on immediately - Windows needs time to dump all data from RAM to hard disk (need time to hibernate). In this tablet there is missing any led which show disk activity so you just need be patient.
After 10-15 sec you will be able to switch on by single power button press.

The clip took a few goes to connect and it finally do when you hear the windows beep beep that new hardware is detected. Flashed and verified and boots fine. Windows 8.1 installed the drivers itself. You don't need to install them.
Some tips, I did it with the battery connected and fully charged. I used the 25xx slot on the usb programmer and the clip #1 is the colored cable of the 8. #1 on the clip to the . connector on the winbond chip itself.
Flashing took around a minute its quick.
DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS THROTTLING (thanks to Petepe10)
I think I found a way to prevent that the display is heavily dimmed due to a thermal event. It is in thermal_throttle_config.xml in system/etc. My interpretation is that by the mod below the brightness reduction is not immediately to 40 percent but goes down in steps to 80 60 40. Wouldn't you agree? I have not found the trigger settings yet though. The xml is editable (I use total commander), reboot afterwards. I will test some more. Of course such thermal mods are not without risk, so be warned..

ANDROID => WINDOWS 8.1 PROCEDURE (thanks to Frontier)​
Required materials:
- A USB stick of 256MB (generally small), FAT32 configuration with label (label) WINPE (uppercase).
- A USB stick capacity of at least 8GB, formatted system NTFS. This will pass the installation files Windows 8.1.
- A USB hub to connect these two sticks in OTG cable X98 Air 3G. The hub would be good to have its own power supply.
- A Teclast X98 Air 3G (obviously), battery sufficiently charged (recommended to be fully charged the battery before you start the process).
Preparing USB sticks:
- Unzip the file WinPE_User_20140814.7z and copy all files directly on the root directory of the USB stick WINPE. See the picture Figure_1.
- Unzip the installation files for Windows 8.1 DVD into a folder named "images", which should be on the root directory of the USB stick of 8GB (with NTFS configuration). The Windows 8.1 version with Bing for X98 Air 3G is here (5 files total): Part1 , Part2 , Part3 , Part4 , Part5 . Inside the folder images, you need to have the files install.txt, install.wim, UnattendAudit.xml, UnattendUser.xml, WIMPART.TXT, Winre.wim. If you want to use your own image and make the USB stick with a tool (Rufus, etc), drivers for the Windows X98 Air 3G is here . If you use Rufus remember to use MBR for UEFI, not GPT!.

Preparation of material:
- X98 Air 3G enabled USB debugging in the settings.
- On the PC, will be available the tool adb (part of the platform SDK) and have installed the ADB drivers (adbdriver.com). The PC should recognize the X98 Air 3G before starting the procedure.
- It is recommended to install Intel Manufacturing Tools before turning the tablet on Windows tablet, in order to be able to restore it to operating condition if the procedure fails. These are available in two versions, the newer and older . Start with the newest and if do not work on your computer, install the older version. Only one version must be installed on your computer.
Upgrade Preparation tool (Intel Manufacturing Tools)
- Unzip the computer you use to convert (not tablet), the Android ROM given above.
- Unzip one of the two available sets of tools Intel Manufacturing Tools. Inside the folder, you will find some executables that run in the following order and always with administrator privileges:
iSocUSB-Driver-Setup-xxxexe: At some point during the installation, you will know that you have to connect the X98 with USB cable to the computer to install the NAND drivers. H connection is necessary otherwise you can install to see and shape the NAND memory of tablet.
IntelAndroidDrvSetupx.xxexe: We run this installer as an administrator with the tablet plugged in USB. This will install the ADB driver Intel, which appears in the Device Manager (Device Manager) for Windows.
ManufacturingFlashTool_Setup_x.xxexe: This tool is used in the final planning "name" (branding) of the tablet and install the fastboot kernel. Install with administrator rights on the proposed application folder (hold down the name of the file for the next step).
- Upon completion of the installation of the Intel Manufacturing Tool, copy the file "CUSTOM_CONFIG.INI" into the folder that the tool was installed (the default is C: \ Program Files \ Intel \ Manufacturing Flash Tool).
The function is said to be installed and the guest OS you are running on X98 Air 3G, host.
Once the installation of the guest operating, it is now host to the tablet and just run it.
Not supported - for now - the simultaneous execution of Android & Windows.
Remove the microSD card that you probably have the tablet, before initiation.
From Android host -> Windows guest (conversion to Windows tablet)
- Uncompress file BIOS_X98_Air_3G_android_to_windows.7z folder without spaces in the name (eg C: \ Temp). We should be inside the unzipped folder, a subfolder 'fpt-tools-package'.
- Connect the tablet to the PC and wait (in Windows) to recognize.
- If you have rooted your device,from a command prompt (with administrator rights), we give the following commands:

./FPT -F X98Air3G.bin
- If you have not rooted your device,from a command prompt (with administrator rights), we give the following commands:

- Once the execution of the last command and display the message "FPT Operation Passed", disable the tablet holding and hold POWER. See the picture Figure_3.
- Connect the two USB sticks in USB hub and the hub of the OTG port X98 Air 3G. Activating the X98 Air 3G with the POWER button, and automatically starts the installation process of Windows 8.1. The whole process takes a long time - and for this reason it is recommended that you fully charged the battery - and requires no user intervention. See the picture Figure_4.
If you do not automatically start the process, connect a USB keyboard to the hub, then reset the tablet (CTRL-ALT-DEL or off) and after doing reset, enter the UEFI BIOS by pressing DEL. At the boot menu, go to the Boot Override option and press ENTER on the USB stick (small in size) to do boot from there. See the picture Figure_5.
- When the message "WIMboot image deployment COMPLETE. Type EXIT from command prompt to restart or turn off the device." You can disconnect the USB hub and terminate the tablet. See the picture Figure_6.
The process of converting the X98 Air 3G in Windows tablet, complete!
After the Android to Windows conversion is it recommended first install the Gsensor, run the kxaccel-win8-x86-dbg-intel.exe that comes in the folder GSENSOR in the attached zip in and then execute the reg file.
Finally copy the TouchSetting.gt to C:\Windows\inf folder and reboot.
Everything should go smoothly now.

UPDATED WIRELESS AND BLUETOOTH DRIVERS (thanks to Hendrickson)​If you have problems with wireless when using bluetooth at the same time it was so damn slow, you can use updated bluetooth and Wireless drivers attached to this post ( Air_3G_Updated_WLAN_and_BT_drivers.zip).
These drivers were discovered November 4th from Dell site and seems to have fixed the issue.

I found that the tutorial on the first page lacked detail and some steps were not shown clearly, so I made a new one that I think is easier to follow for newcomers! Will add screenshots soon.
Dual boot BIOS benefits:
Fixes 60Hz refresh rate for Windows 32 bit system
Probably on old bios there are low voltage settings for GPU that makes some problems with 3D games,after updated to dual bios no problems at all for many users
Drawbacks:
BIOS settings very little
No boot menu (so no easy way to reinstall Windows with a USB drive)
Time in Windows will mess up when using dual OS

Many of us have different start points, some are coming from Android, some from Windows, but it does not matter. First thing is to flash with dual boot BIOS, which is most important.
WARNING: (Be very careful, this part may brick your device. After you get past here, you can practically do anything you want and there is almost no risk of bricking your device, so pay attention here!)

Extract the BIOS "完美双系统BIOS.7z" and copy the contents to the tablet.
Note the filepath on the tablet, you will need it later.
1a) Flash BIOS from existing Android system
NOTE:
If your existing Android version is 4.4.4, you can use the "UpdateIFWI.apk" that was installed on the system to flash the BIOS.
If Android version is 4.4.2 on C6J6 and there is an "UpdateIFWI.apk" on it, there have been reports that it does not flash properly. (as reported by @ambrosio5)
Current advice is to update to 4.4.4 before proceeding. .For instructions on how to upgrade to 4.4.4 from other previous Android versions, see FAQ 7 below.
From the tablet itself, run “UpdateIFWI.apk”, select "Browser" and point it to the filepath of the BIOS named "X98Air3GDuala.bin''.
STOP: Make sure you have at least 50% battery and chose the correct file! If this fails, it might BRICK!
Now flash the BIOS.
1b) Flash BIOS from existing Windows system
From the tablet itself, RUN AS ADMIN the .bat file in the folder (the one with chinese words) provided.

After you see the Green line “FPT Operation passed”, it’s good news.
Now reboot the system and you will be taken to the BIOS screen. Just igonore it and press power button for 10 seconds to turn it off.
2) Installing ANDROID first (must be done before Windows)
Now we need to FIRST install ANDROID. This step will wipe out your whole tablet (INCLUDING ALL PREVIOUS WINDOWS AND ANDROID PARTITIONS AND DATA)

Download and install Notepad++, we need to edit "partition.tbl" file below, the Notepad.exe and Wordpad.exe built in on Windows DOES NOT SAVE THE FILE CORRECTLY AND WILL NOT WORK!
Extract the contents of the ROM to a folder. You should see a "partition.tbl" file inside.
This file controls how the 32GB eMMC in the tablet will be partitioned in this step.

Copy the "partition.tbl" file FROM the Chinese download (either 5000 or 8000) TO the Android ROM folder that you extracted. Replace the original "partition.tbl" file that came with the ROM.
Edit the "partition.tbl" file in the Android ROM folder, find the second last line, which is "add -b 5931048 -s 10240000 -t data -u 80868086-8086-8086-8086-000000000008 -l data -T 0 -P 0 /dev/block/mmcblk0"
and change the highlighted number to the value of user space you want in Android. The number is a multiple of 2048, so let's say if I want 500MB user space, I would have to multiply 500MB x 2048 = 1024000 and input "1024000".

I tried 300MB but it was too small, I think 500MB would be good if you're planning to use more Windows. Save the file!
Credits to FRONTIER for Android ROM flashing instructions (I made a number of changes):
The tools of the platform upgrade Intel (Intel Manufacturing Tools). These are available in two versions, the newer and older . Start with the newest and if do not work on your computer, install the older version. Only one version must be installed on your computer.
- Unzip the downloaded Intel Manufacturing Tools. Inside the folder, you will find some executables. RUN THEM IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER WITH ADMIN RIGHTS:
iSocUSB-Driver-Setup-xxxexe: During the installation, DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR TABLET. Near the end of the install, there will be a text asking saying that you need to plug in tablet and power cycle to complete installation. ONLY PLUG IN YOUR TABLET THEN, and do as the instruction says. After you're done, click Finish. After install, you should see Intel SOC device in your device manager.
IntelAndroidDrvSetupx.xxexe: Plug in your tablet, and MAKE SURE that your computer RECOGNISES your tablet. You will see unknown ADB device if you plug in the tablet. Now run this program as ADMIN, this will install the ADB driver for the unknown device. In device manager, if it still shows unknown device after install, manually update the driver in device manager and browse to the install directory of the driver, it will then install the driver from there.
ManufacturingFlashTool_Setup_x.xxexe: Install with ADMIN rights, this will install the Flash tool with the Lightning icon, which is the GUI interface we use to flash our tablet.
Copy the file "CUSTOM_CONFIG.INI" from the downloaded folder into the install folder of IMT (the default is C: \ Program Files \ Intel \ Manufacturing Flash Tool).
Remove the microSD card from tablet.
Run Intel Manufacturing Tools (the one with Lightning icon), In the Settings menu, change the VID and PID values to this, then click apply and OK:
If you're using Windows XP, your VID and PID values may be different to the ones shown. Check the instructions on Post #2 on how to get the values.

Close the IMT application and launch it again. Go to the menu File -> Open. There, choose the folder of ROM you want to flash, find the file "flash.xml" and open it. The "flash.xml" file which tells IMT how to flash the tablet's eMMC.
(IF YOU ARE USING SUPERCOWZ Android 4.4.4 C6J6 and C7J8 ROM, here are his instructions, :

this last action dedicate 4 or 8 gb of rom space for Android and you can install windows in 18.5 or22.5 gb free rom space.
Then reinstall Android rom as before (open manufacture flash tools and select flash.xml)
After install android rom you can install windows as before (using bootable windows usb disk and select 18.5 or 22.5gb rom free))

8) Turn off the tablet holding the POWER button for 10 seconds.
- Run Intel Manufacturing Tool as administrator.
- On the tablet, hold the VOL +, VOL- and POWER until you see the "Entering DnX mode. Waiting for fastboot command..."

- Connect the USB cable to the computer and flashing will start.
- After progress bar is green and 100%, hold down power button for 10 seconds to turn off tablet.
If the progress bar turns red, take note of the percentage that it stopped at, and refer to FAQ 1 below.

After finishing these steps, Android is now installed on the tablet, and if you power it up, you can see the dual boot menu with the Android logo.

If you're happy with ANDROID only without Windows, you can stop here and just boot into Android! You can go on to do the Google play store fix and others...
3) Installing Windows
If you plug in your USB drive via the OTG cable and boot up, you will see the boot menu with an Android icon and a small Windows icon. (If you don't see the boot menu at all, shut down the tablet and press Vol + and Power button until the boot menu appears).
This small Windows icon is the only way to get the BIOS to boot into your USB drive to install Windows. This dual boot BIOS has no boot menu, and in the BIOS there is no option to select to boot from USB, so this is the only way to boot to a USB drive that I know of so far...
(If you already have a USB stick prepared, skip this section in BLUE)
Preparing your Windows USB Stick:
You can install Windows via the traditional method which involves the GUI (in which case you will need an OTG HUB to plug in the USB Drive and mouse together) OR you can use a downloaded wimboot image (no need for HUB and mouse, just a thumbdrive will do).
Whatever the case, make sure your USB Drive is formatted as FAT32! Very important!
I used this wimboot image that automatically uses WinPE to get through the whole install process automatically without needing a single mouse click, which also has all the drivers and everything installed and working properly:

Plug in the USB drive via OTG cable or HUB, and choose the small Windows icon until it turns blue, then hit the grey button below and Windows installation should start.
If it asks you for which partition to install to, you will see a great many partitions there (due to Android), don't worry, it is normal. Typically you will install Windows to the largest available partition. (Unless you set the Android user space partition in the "partition.tbl" file previously to be huge)
DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THE ANDROID PARTITIONS, IT WILL DESTROY THE ANDROID SYSTEM!
Everything should go smoothly from here and you can remove your OTG cable and USB drive once Windows starts asking for your User Name.
4) Final Steps
One last step. Thanks to Android, we have to hide the Android partitions from Windows, because when we open "This PC", Windows will attempt to mount all the partitions and cause the whole thing to hang.
So, go to control panel, administrative tools, computer management, then Storage, then for each of the RAW partitions that belong to Android, right click and choose "change drive letters" and choose "remove", then OK. Repeat for the rest of the partitions, leaving the C: drive alone. DO NOT DELETE ANY PARTITIONS OR ANDROID WILL NOT WORK!
Note: For people who only want to install Windows and don't want Android but still want the dual boot BIOS (due to the 60Hz refresh rate), I have tried it and it works. What you need to do is to follow this tutorial exactly, but REPLACE STEP 2 WITH THE ONE BELOW:
STEP 2) This step will wipe out your whole tablet (INCLUDING ALL PREVIOUS WINDOWS AND ANDROID PARTITIONS AND DATA)

- Unzip the Android DnX BIOS directly into the Windows installation on X98 Air 3G.
- Run with administrative rights (from command line) flash.bat file inside the folder BIOS_X98_Air_3G_android. H process starts with the completion of the installation DnX BIOS displays the message "FPT Operation Passed".
After finishing the steps, you can power it up, you can see the dual boot menu option with the Android logo and a very small Windows icon. Continue and follow STEP 3 in the guide. You can partition your 32GB eMMC in the Windows setup to remove all previously created Android partitions and make it into one large Windows partition to install Windows.

INVERTED TOUCH FIX UNDER WINDOWS (thanks to krisbliz)​
You can use the DevManView to restart the "Goodix Touch HID" before the windows logon screen and everything working perfect again.

Follow these istructions:
First open cmd as admin and check status with this command:
powercfg /sleepstudy
It should give you this reply:
No connected standby traces available. Report not generated.
Now start regedit an go here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Power
Change the value of the key CsEnabled from 1 to 0 and reboot.
(1 means connected standby enabled and 0 disabled.)
After reboot.
Now go to the control panel and select Energy, under Advanced there will be many new settings.
Don´t change anything, just select save settings.
Then with regedit change the CsEnabled key back to 1 and reboot again.
Open cmd as admin and again check status with the command:
powercfg /sleepstudy
It should now work and create a sleepstudy-report.html and the sleep function now works as expected.

The main problem is very old (year 2006) driver of "Intel SD Host Controller", they are 3 in Device manager. Only thing what you need is update driver.
start Computer Management (hold My Computer and select Manage)
select Device management
find SD Controllers, if you click on it, there are 3 "Intel SD Host Controller"s
hold on every one controller, select "Update Driver", select driver from computer, and there is another option "SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller", install driver, confirm restart of computer after last update install

Nice english instructions for rooting, Win->Android, Android->Win, removal of bloatware etc. would be nice. Everyone can use google translate to navigate official chinese forums but you will get funny translations like "Brush Wizard software". If instructions are unclear and they leave space for interpretation mistakes can happen. Worst case scenario is bricked device.
After using windows and Android I still have the same gpu issues. I also looked in the log and at the end of every crashlog (in android) I see a dev_prive->gpu_error, which is a call from the kernel. (I saw some code on the internet about this) So, my intel Atom chip is bad. Going to return it and ask for a replacement.
The error seems to only happen when I use an app that uses opengl 3.0 (and a LOT of games use that!).
Also about the touchscreen, there seems to be a major problem with the driver in linux. Since I guess they cross-compiled the driver, I am guessing they made the same mistake in both android(linux) and windows.
How did I verify this? Well I used a goodix android application which had some demo app and I saw that the moments the touchscreen gets refreshed are not constant. Let me explain.
When I slide my finger over the touchscreen with a constant speed this happens to my tablets:
This is what my "old and smooth" tablet does(every dot is a touchscreen refresh): .---------.---------.---------.---------.---------.---------.---------.---------. (this is a constant refresh)
This is what my X98 Air 3G does: .--------.--.---------.-.-------.------.-------.-.-----.-----.-.-----.------.----.----.---------.-------.----. (not constant at all)
So the times the touchscreen gets refreshed is not constant. The result is that especially scrolling doesn't work that smooth.
And on top of that, the response time is extremely slow. I am guessing that the driver puts the touchscreen into sleep mode after every single touch, which is stupid. The response (as stated in the goodix GT9271 datasheet) is <200ms. Lets say it's about 100ms, do you know how slow that is??? If your mouse would only refresh every 10th of a second, it would be extremely slow!!!
If I didn't have gpu issues and the touchscreen issue would be corrected, this tablet would be superb, but that is not the case of course.
I am going to contact Teclast if they want my help in enhancing the touchscreen driver. (I am an embedded software engineer specialized in C/C++/C# code)
Also, I might be able to make simple C# app that does most of the work when you want to flash your tablet from android to windows. (this could also be done with a very simple windows batch script)

Hi Jote, sorry again for my bad english.
The biggest problem is that most of the information and instructions on how to root, how to change OS,etc.. come from the Chinese manufacturer's forum.
As written before your help in any way will be really appreciated! This is true also about the translation from chinese to the english language.
I ordered this tablet because I think it has enormous potential enclosed in a shell of very small dimensions, if we combine our knowledge to bridge the gap of the Chinese language I think we have great satisfaction with it.
I will try to add link to files for rooting, for change the OS and get other resources asap.

So the touch screen is going into sleep states very quickly? I noticed compared to the Onda v975w that it was much slower. I have the X98 3G air now and I have gotten use to it. But it would be nicer if it was how you pointed out.
I have disabled Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power, under power management on the Goodix Touch HID in device manager.

Yes, that it what I am claiming right now based on the information I know and what I have experienced at this point.
I attached the zip containing the datasheet of the goodix GT9271 touchscreen controller. (it's the touchscreen controller inside our tablet if I can believe the log)
The zip also contains an android app from goodix. You can select demo in the menu and then test the touchscreen in various ways. Give it a try
Disabling the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" isn't going to work I think. It can only be done in the driver and I am not sure if it's even supported. It's standard USB stuff, but the GT9271 is connected via I2C. This is a Inter-IC Connection to other chips (IC's) of smartphones/tablets like touchscreen controllers, temperature sensors, accelerometers, gyroscopes etc.
I use it a lot in embedded software engineering and I2C is a very common connection in embedded applications. USB is very heavy for small systems, but I2C does require "special code" to get it up and running.

I have a question about the screen, namely, whether at you vertically (then best seen) is the difference between the left and right sides of the LCD to the distance from the frame (the black space)? How I installed Marshmallow to Nexus 4...

I did this 4 days ago and only published this now as I wanted to make sure it was stable and be as close to stock (aka pure Google experience). Only problem I have now is "Now on Tap" doesn't seem to work. Advise from those in the know if appreciated. Credits to those in their respective links I've included here.

How I installed Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) on my Nexus 4...
I used Windows 7 as the base platform as all the tools needed are easily found on this platform.
WARNING: You will lose all data in phone, backup as necessary. I will not be responsible for this HOWTO, do so at your own risk. Yes, it worked for me. Your mileage may vary...
A. Prior to building/installing the Marshmallow build, you will need the following.
A.1. Install ADB and FASTBOOT tools.
These are the tools used to install Marshmallow on your phone. You can either install the full Android SDK or get them from this XDA thread at URL http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
A.2. Install WinRAR.
You will need to use a tool called WinRAR to extract or replace certain files in an archive. You can download a copy from URL http://www.win-rar.com/
A.3. Download a Mako Google factory image of Lollipop at URL https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=en#occam
We are going to modify the factory image of a Lollipop build. To upgrade my Mako, I used the LMY48M build.
A.4. Download the WORKING IMAGE of Android M on Nexus 4
Get the image file from URL http://dmitry.gr/index.php?r=06.+Thoughts&proj=02.+Android+M+on+Nexus4
You will get an archive called "MakoM_bin_v2.zip" file. If there is a newer version, use that instead but I used this version when I installed on my Mako.
A.5. Download TWRP for Mako
Get the TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP) v2.8.7.0 from URL https://dl.twrp.me/mako/twrp-2.8.7.0-mako.img
A.6. Download the Google Apps (not provided in the AOSP builds).
Get the file "gapps-mm-fix.zip" from URL https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347833783
A.7. Download a patched kernel image that allows you to install SuperSU root.
Get the file "Fixed_Data_root.img" from URL https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347833767
A.8. Download a fix for Location services (GPS) not working.

B. Checklist

C. Installation and building the installer
C.1. Install the "minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.3.1_setup.exe" and "wrar521.exe" installers, leave settings as default.
C.2. Extract the content of file "occam-lmy48m-factory-03ae06e5.tgz" using WinRAR, it'll create a folder called "occam-lmy48m". Rename "occam-lmy48m" to "mako-marshmallow".
C.3. Extract the content of file "MakoM_bin_v2.zip" and you should get the following files:
- system.img
- Choose either "n4_lte_modem.img" or "normal_modem.img" depending if you want LTE support or just 3G (UMTS) support and rename that file to "radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1701.07.img"
C.4. Rename the file "twrp-2.8.7.0-mako.img" to "recovery.img", and "Fixed_Data_root.img" to "boot.img"
C.5. Replace the "radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1701.07.img" file inside the "mako-marshmallow" folder with our "radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1701.07.img" which we extracted from file "MakoM_bin_v2.zip"
C.6. Open the "image-occam-lmy48m.zip" file and replace the following files which we downloaded from the twrp.me or dimitry.gr site. They are:
- boot.img
- system.img
- recovery.img
C.7. Open a command shell:
Start -> Run -> cmd
From the command shell, go to the folder called "mako-marshmallow"
C.8. Make sure the Nexus 4 has at least 80% battery and restart the phone into bootloader mode (by switching off the phone, the pressing the on button and at the same time pressing the volume down button). To confirm you are in bootloader mode, type in the command:
fastboot devices
You should now see the output "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx fastboot" appear, where "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" is the serial number that appears on your Nexus 4 screen. They should be the same and you should only have one line appearing, disconnect any other device if they appear on the list.
C.9. Install the image you just build by running the script "flash-all.bat". A Series of statuses will appear on the screen. Do not disconnect the phone from the cable and let the script install everything. If done correctly, you will find the Nexus 4 rebooting. WARNING: This will erase all user data on your Nexus 4!
C.10. Once you see the Home screen of Marshmallow on your Nexus 4, go to Settings -> About Phone and tap the BUILD number seven (7) times. When you go back to the Settings screen, just above the "About Phone" is a new menu item called "Developer Options".
C.11. Go to Settings -> Developer Options and enable "USB debugging". To ensure debugging is on, go to the command shell and type:
adb devices
It sure display the list of devices with the same serial number and should have the word "device" next to the serial number. You will be prompted on the phone if you want to allow this connection.
C.12. Make sure the USB is connected in MTP mode (Transfer files mode). In windows file maanger (Press the Win-E keys), you will see a device called "Nexus 4". Open it and in the "Internal storage", go to the "Download" folder and copy the following files:
- gapps-mm-fix.zip
- framework-res.apk
- BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip
Then, in a command shell, issues the command:
adb reboot bootloader
C.13. From the bootloader screen, press the volume down button until the option "Recovery" appears, then press the Power button once to boot into TWRP/Recovery.
C.14. In TWRP, select to install the file "gapps-mm-fix.zip" and "BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip" from the "Download" folder. Once completed, press the "Reboot" button that appears in TWRP.
C.15. When the phone restarts. Go to Settings -> Backup & reset and reset the whole phone. If you get a error message from the "Setup Wizard", press the Open-apps (ie. the square softkey on the screen) and you should see the "Settings" pane.
C.16. Once the phone restart from the master reset exercise. You will be prompted as if you just switched on a new phone. Fill in as necessary until you get to the Home screen.
C.17. We will need to replace a file to get Location Services (GPS) working. From you command shell:
adb root
adb remount
adb shell
cp /sdcard/Download/framework-res.apk /system/framework/
exit
adb reboot
C.18. I disabled the following apps (drag the app to the "App Info" button, and press the "Disable" button) for the following and replaced the with similar app from Google Play (name in brackets). This was done as the built in apps kept crashing every few minutes or didn't work as expected. The apps are:
- Browser (Chrome Browser)
- Clock (Clock)
- Camera (Google Camera)
- Calendar (Google Calendar)
- Contacts (Google Contacts)
- Music (Google Play Music)
- Gallery (Google Photos)
- Search (Google)
- EMail (GMail)
C.19. Restart phone and you're ready to experience a stable (close to Google stock) build of Marshmallow on your Mako (Nexus 4).
C.20. Fixing the "Google Now on Tap" not working problem (thanks to gamekid94).
Go to Settings -> Apps
- Tap on the "Gear" (icon on the top right) -> Default Apps -> Assist & voice input -> Assist app
- Select "None", then select "Google App".
Go to Settings -> Google -> Search & Now -> Voice
- Enable "Now on Tap"
C.21. Install and customize as you see fit.
While this can probably be useful to new users I don't think it belongs in the development subforum. A better place for it would probably be the general subforum.
OR... Or.. Or- You could just install a custom M ROM via flashing in TWRP. Much more easier lol.
Use Nexus Root Toolkit to backup everything, unlock bootloader, flash TWRP, and Root. Download Custom M ROM and Gapps, reboot to recovery, make a backup, wipe everything except internal storage, flash ROM. Done.
No need for extracting everything, ridiculous ADB commands, etc.

Here's how i managed to get Now on Tap to work :
1. Go to settings .
2. Open "Apps" from the settings menu.
3. Tap on the "Gear" icon on the top right.
4. Select "Default Apps" and open "Assist and voice input".
5. Here, tap on Assist app, set it to None and then Back to google app.
Also, make sure that Now on Tap is switched on in the settings menu of the Google App.

I got stuck up at C12. I do see the Nexus 4 in the as one of the devices connected. However when I click on it, I don't see any folders under it called as "internal storage", also when I try to copy these files (as in C12) I get an error "Cannot copy item - The device has stopped responding or has been disconnected". I am stuck here, any direction here is well appreciated.

I thought I'd post this in hope that people will appreciate how much effort needs to be put into it, yet simple enough to allow newbies to try building something. It's also a very light build without all the unnecessary apps which people end up uninstalling or disabling.

[GUIDE]Huawei P8 Lite Downgrade/Unlock Bootloader/Root(5.0 and 6.0)/ Enable Gyroscope

Disclaimer:
I am not responsible for what you do to your device, I tested these things for myself and posted it from my own experience, if you point the finger at me for whatever happens to your device, I will laugh at you.
HOWEVER, I am willing to help as long as it is asked kindly, and provided me with enough information.
Requirements:
Huawei P8 Lite ALE-L21 (DUAL-SIM)
5.0 Firmware of choice
Unlocked bootloader
Patience
Correct drivers
SD card of atleast 8 GB
Drivers: Install these before even starting!
Minimal ADB Fastboot drivers
Huawei HiSuite
Kingoroot Windows
TWRP 3.0.2.0 Kirin variant
Preparing environment: Making sure no admin priveledge is necessary
Install all drivers mentioned above in their standard directories, don't change anything.
Go to the following path:

For x64 OS:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot
For x86_32 OS:
C:\Program Files\Minimal ADB and Fastboot
Copy these files:

adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
fastboot.exe
And paste them on the desktop, in a folder called "rootingtools" so you're easily able to find it.
Then, go to your phone and enable USB debugging mode by going to
settings - about phone - press Build number 7 times
settings - developer options - USB debugging
Copy the content of "TWRP-3.0.0-2_P8-lite_KIRIN_variant.zip" and paste it into the "rootingtools" folder.
Backing up: Even though the unlocking process is not going to wipe your data, atleast it didn't for me, make SURE you have everything that you need backed up from the phone's internal memory.
Backing up your SD card wouldn't hurt neither.
First things first, unlock your bootloader!
I used this: https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
What you do is: fill in everything correctly and get the number at the end. It should be something in the words of:

Your unlocking password is: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
(X resembles numbers, 16 numbers in total)
Copy the 16 numbers and go to the "rootingtools" folder on your desktop.
Hold the SHIFT key and right click inside the folder, then press "open command window here"
Now take your phone, power it off and power it on by holding volume DOWN and POWER.
You will get a white screen that says something like fastboot, and an android logo.
Plug your phone into the PC via USB cable.
In the command window write:

fastboot.exe oem unlock UNLOCKKEY
Where UNLOCKKEY represents the key you just copied, right clicking pastes the key in the command window.
It should return finished, so now your phone should be unlocked!
If you look at the screen, there will be text beneath the green Android logo saying "unlocked".
In this case, the operation has succeeded and you can go to the next step, else you can try again or post a reply.
Now write:

fastboot.exe reboot
Now the phone will boot up like normal.
Close the command window.
Android 5.0:
If your android version right now is Android 5.0, and you actually WANT to root 5.0 or anything below 6.0 you can proceed with this step, if you have 6.0 or want to root 6.0, skip this step.
Since your android version is 5.0 you're blessed!
You can easily root, but before proceeding you might want to make a backup
Make sure you have about 8GB of free storage either on an SD card or internal memory first.
Connect your phone to your PC in the booted-up state where you can see the homescreen, making sure that USB debugging is enabled.
Shift + right click inside the rootingtools folder to open a command window and write:

adb.exe reboot-bootloader
Your phone will reboot into the bootloader, a white screen with a green Android logo that says "unlocked" beneath it.
Now on the command window write:

fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
Wait for it to finish and pull out the USB cable so it is NOT attached.
Power off the device by holding the power button, and power up by pressing volume UP + POWER.
Keep holding volume up until you see the Team Win logo.
Just slide the slider to the right.
Now go to "backup" and check every partition available.
In "name" you write:

MainBackupURTD
Then, go to the "options" tab and enable compression.
Go back to the "backup" tab and press "select storage".
From here you can choose where to back your data up, whether it be the internal storage or external SD card.
Press OK and swipe the slider to the right to start backing up.
Plug your phone in to make sure it doesn't power off during backing up, this process takes a while and you should let it do its thing.
When done, press "reboot system", your phone will reboot.
Let it fully start up.
Then, run Kingoroot on your PC.
Meanwhile, download the "SuperSU" app from the Play store.
Press the big "ROOT" button in Kingoroot and press "cancel" on every app your phone tries to install.
That way you will not install Kingoroot but SuperSU.
It will say "succeeded".
Now you can go on your phone and open the SuperSU app.
It will ask for an upgrade, press OK and go further with the normal installation (not the TWRP/CWM installation).
Let it do its thing and restart your phone.
Install any root checker and see if you're rooted!
Android 6.0:
Firmware version B188 or higher, below B524/B535 (excluding B524/B535):Upgrade firmware to this one: LINK (Link fixed)
Installation instructions: place file to the "dload" folder in your SD card or internal storage, then go to settings - updates - menu - local update and press the update.zip.

Enabling Gyro sensor (rooted android 6.0, B524/B535 firmware only! ( sorry :[ ) ):
Download attached file.
Put attached file to SD card.
Open ES file explorer, swipe to the right, enable root browser and click the R/W tab, then set /system as RW.
Then copy the attached file.

Hiya, will the gyro hack work on a L02 B130 Android 5.0 as i can't get an update to 6.0 here in New Zealand?

The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days.

As far as I know, the hack is for android 6.0 but there should be no problem in trying it out
It's just that it only worked for me on these FW

I think Huawei has this policy of using your Huawei ID for 2 weeks (2 weeks online time) before you can unlock it

Are the dorrect drivers installed, are you sure you copied the whole key?

Drivers: Install these before even starting!

Preparing environment: Making sure no admin priveledge is necessary
Install all drivers mentioned above in their standard directories, don't change anything.
Go to the following path:

Copy these files:

And paste them on the desktop, in a folder called "rootingtools" so you're easily able to find it.
Then, go to your phone and enable USB debugging mode by going to
settings - about phone - press Build number 7 times
settings - developer options - USB debugging
Copy the content of "TWRP-3.0.0-2_P8-lite_KIRIN_variant.zip" and paste it into the "rootingtools" folder.
Backing up: Even though the unlocking process is not going to wipe your data, atleast it didn't for me, make SURE you have everything that you need backed up from the phone's internal memory.
Backing up your SD card wouldn't hurt neither.
First things first, unlock your bootloader!

What you do is: fill in everything correctly and get the number at the end. It should be something in the words of:

(X resembles numbers, 16 numbers in total)
Copy the 16 numbers and go to the "rootingtools" folder on your desktop.
Hold the SHIFT key and right click inside the folder, then press "open command window here"
Now take your phone, power it off and power it on by holding volume DOWN and POWER.
You will get a white screen that says something like fastboot, and an android logo.
Plug your phone into the PC via USB cable.
In the command window write:

fastboot.exe oem unlock UNLOCKKEY
Where UNLOCKKEY represents the key you just copied, right clicking pastes the key in the command window.
It should return finished, so now your phone should be unlocked!
If you look at the screen, there will be text beneath the green Android logo saying "unlocked".
In this case, the operation has succeeded and you can go to the next step, else you can try again or post a reply.
Now write:

fastboot.exe reboot
Now the phone will boot up like normal.
Close the command window.
Android 5.0:
If your android version right now is Android 5.0, and you actually WANT to root 5.0 or anything below 6.0 you can proceed with this step, if you have 6.0 or want to root 6.0, skip this step.
Since your android version is 5.0 you're blessed!
You can easily root, but before proceeding you might want to make a backup
Make sure you have about 8GB of free storage either on an SD card or internal memory first.
Connect your phone to your PC in the booted-up state where you can see the homescreen, making sure that USB debugging is enabled.
Shift + right click inside the rootingtools folder to open a command window and write:

Your phone will reboot into the bootloader, a white screen with a green Android logo that says "unlocked" beneath it.
Now on the command window write:

Wait for it to finish and pull out the USB cable so it is NOT attached.
Power off the device by holding the power button, and power up by pressing volume UP + POWER.
Keep holding volume up until you see the Team Win logo.
Just slide the slider to the right.
Now go to "backup" and check every partition available.
In "name" you write:

Then, go to the "options" tab and enable compression.
Go back to the "backup" tab and press "select storage".
From here you can choose where to back your data up, whether it be the internal storage or external SD card.
Press OK and swipe the slider to the right to start backing up.
Plug your phone in to make sure it doesn't power off during backing up, this process takes a while and you should let it do its thing.
When done, press "reboot system", your phone will reboot.
Let it fully start up.
Then, run Kingoroot on your PC.
Meanwhile, download the "SuperSU" app from the Play store.
Press the big "ROOT" button in Kingoroot and press "cancel" on every app your phone tries to install.
That way you will not install Kingoroot but SuperSU.
It will say "succeeded".
Now you can go on your phone and open the SuperSU app.
It will ask for an upgrade, press OK and go further with the normal installation (not the TWRP/CWM installation).
Let it do its thing and restart your phone.
Install any root checker and see if you're rooted!
Android 6.0:

you got to test everything. from changing usb port to changing usb cable. htc is a brand that has this problem alot. and until now there's no right answer.

Local update option has been removed from Marshmallow, you must use *#*#2846579#*#* and go to sd card upgrade to further upgrade it

I am asking because im havin trouble unlocking bootloader. Nobody from Huawei is answering my email where I sent them all neccecary data, and when I go to this link It says there is a server problem. Either that or Im redirected to some site filled with japanese signs http://www.vmall.com/ and I dont know what to press

How To Guide Realme GT Neo 2T (RMX3357) Guide for BL Unlock/Root/Debloat/Android Auto/Hey Google

NOTE - THIS GUIDE IS ONLY FOR THE REALME GT NEO 2T (RMX3357)
For the X7 Max or GT Neo/GT Neo Flash Edition, please refer to the excellent guide by @mahotlov found here.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------​Preamble: I recently purchased a Realme GT Neo 2T under the assumption it could take Realme X7 Max ROMs. The specs and design were an exact match, and since Realme has a history of releasing existing phones with new model numbers and sparklier plastic, I felt pretty good about compatibility. I quickly learned I was mistaken - both stock and custom ROMs for the X7 Max cause the display on the Neo 2T to stop working. Flashing back the stock bootloader fixed the display, but the phone would only boot into recovery, which had no touch support. Flashing the stock recovery brought back touch support, but nothing I tried could get the ROM to boot. Clearly there are changes under the hood.
Unfortunately, that left precious few options for turning the Neo 2T into a usable phone. The hardware is amazing for the price, and ColorOS is pretty decent, but the amount of non-removable bloatware and lack of Android Auto and Hey Google to activate Google Assistant was a dealbreaker for me. In the end, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

This guide will show you how to:
- Unlock your bootloader.
- Root your phone. (Magisk)
- Bypass SafetyNet. (Universal SafetyNet Fix Magisk module)
- Install Android Auto and Google apps as system apps. (BusyBox-NDK and Terminal Systemizer Magisk modules)
- Remove Realme bloatware. (ADB)
- Flash device with SP Tools and stock ROM to recover from a softbrick or restore to factory state. (SP Tools)
(Some sections are still being written and will be available soon.)

STEP 1: Unlock your bootloader.

First, we need to enable developer mode. On the Neo 2T:
- Open Settings.
- Choose "About Phone".
- Choose "Version - Baseband & Kernel"
- Tap "Build Number" until developer mode is enabled.
Next, we need to turn on USB Debugging and allow OEM Unlock. On the Neo 2T:
- Go back to Settings.
- Choose "Additional Settings".
- Choose "Developer Options".
- Turn on "OEM Unlock" and "USB Debugging".
We need to get the Deep Testing app to unlock the bootloader. On your PC:
- Download "DeepTesting_GT_NEO_2T.apk" attached to this post.
- Plug the Neo 2T into your PC.
Now, we need to allow file transfers. On the Neo 2T:
- Select "Transfer Files" on the "Use USB to" popup.
Time to send the .apk to the Neo 2T. On your PC:
- Copy the "DeepTesting_GT_NEO_2T.apk" file you downloaded to the "Download" folder on the internal storage of the Neo 2T.
We're ready to request unlocking of the bootloader. On the Neo 2T:
- Open the "File Manager" app.
- Choose the "APK" option.
- Find "DeepTesting_GT_NEO_2T.apk" and open it.
- Follow the instruction to install the app. You may need to allow installing from the "File Manager" app.
- Once install is finished, launch the app.
- Click "Start Applying".
- Tick the checkbox to agree to the disclaimer. Due to a bug, the disclaimer text itself may or may not appear.
- When you see "Application Submitted", click "Back."
- Go grab a coffee. It can sometimes take up to an hour for the bootloader unlock request to be approved.
- You can close the app and use your phone as normal in the meantime. Periodically open the app and click "Query Verification Status" to check your request. Once you see "Application Approved" we are done with this step.
- Unplug the Neo 2T from your PC.
- Click "Start Deep Testing".
- The Neo 2T will reboot into "Fastboot" mode. You should see a black screen with small white text.
- Plug the Neo 2T into your PC.
Now we need to install the ADB drivers. On your PC:
- Download "ADB_DRIVERS.zip" attached to this post.
- Unzip the files somewhere. Remember the location.
- Right-click on your start menu button and choose "Device Manager".
- Find the device called "Android".
- Right-click the device and choose "Update Driver".
- Choose "Browse My Computer for Drivers".
- Choose "Let Me Pick From a List of Available Drivers On My Computer".
- Click "Have Disk".
- Click "Browse".
- Navigate to the folder where you extracted the files.
- Choose "android_winusb.inf".
- Choose "Android Bootloader Interface".
- Click "Finish" to close the driver wizard once it has finished.
We need to use Fastboot to unlock the bootloader. On your PC:
- Download "ADB_FASTBOOT.zip" attached to this post.
- Unzip the files somewhere. Remember the location.
- Open a command prompt pointing to the extracted files. (The fastest way to do this is to open the folder, then replace the file path with "cmd" end hit enter.)
- Enter this command to check that your phone is detected: fastboot.exe devices
- You should see your device represented by a long string of numbers and letters followed by "fastboot".
- If you don't see this, or it doesn't say "fastboot", double-check your USB cable or port, and make sure you installed the drivers as instructed previously.
- Enter this command: fastboot.exe flashing unlock
Your phone will now ask you to confirm unlocking of the bootloader. On the Neo 2T:
- REMINDER: THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA!
- Read the text on the screen and follow the instructions to confirm the bootloader unlock.
Next we reboot the phone. On your PC:
- Enter this command: fastboot.exe reboot
- Your phone will now warn you during boot that the bootloader is unlocked.
- Unplug the Neo 2T from your PC.
Now we need to enter Fastboot again. On the Neo 2T:
- Allow the phone to fully boot to the initial setup wizard.
- Turn off the phone by holding down the power button until the power actions slider appears.
- Slide down to turn off the phone.
- While holding down Vol-, press and hold the power button.
- Release the power button when you feel the phone vibrate.
- Release the Vol- button when you have entered Fastboot mode. You should see a black screen with small white text.
- Plug the Neo 2T into your PC.
We will use Fastboot to get into recovery mode. On your PC:
- Open the folder where you extracted the "ADB_FASTBOOT.zip" (Done previously during Step 1: Unlock your bootloader.)
- Open a command prompt pointing to the extracted files. (The fastest way to do this is to open the folder, then replace the file path with "cmd" end hit enter.)
- Enter this command to check that your phone is detected: fastboot.exe devices
- You should see your device represented by a long string of numbers and letters followed by "fastboot".
- If you don't see this, or it doesn't say "fastboot", double-check your USB cable or port, and make sure you installed the drivers as instructed previously.
- Enter this command: fastboot.exe reboot recovery
- Wait for phone to reboot into recovery
Finally, we will wipe the data partition to ensure a clean state for future steps. On the Neo 2T:
- Select your language.
- Select "Wipe data".
- Select "Format data".
- Enter the code displayed on the screen.
- Select "Format".
- Data will be wiped. Select "OK" when finished. Phone will reboot.
- Once the phone has booted, proceed through the first time setup until you reach the home screen.
- Setup WiFi or verify/configure a data connection which will be needed for the next steps.
- If still plugged into your PC, or upon the next connection, the phone will show a popup to allow USB debugging. Check "always allow from this computer" and select OK.
- We can now move on to rooting!
STEP 2: Root your phone.

Complete Magisk setup. On the Neo 2T:
- Open Magisk from your app drawer.
- Accept the request to install the full version of Magisk.
- Allow Magisk to install apps in the resulting popup.
- Open Magisk from your app drawer.
- Accept the request to reboot to complete installation.
- Once the phone has rebooted, the process is complete and we can move on to bypassing SafetyNet!
STEP 3: Bypass SafetyNet.

First we grab the SafetyNet module for Magisk. On your PC:
- Download "safetynet-fix-v2.2.1.zip" attached to this post.
- Plug the Neo 2T into your PC.
Now, we need to allow file transfers. On the Neo 2T:
- Select "Transfer Files" on the "Use USB to" popup.
Time to send the .apk to the Neo 2T. On your PC:
- Copy the "safetynet-fix-v2.2.1.zip" file you downloaded to the "Download" folder on the internal storage of the Neo 2T.
We're ready to install the module. On the Neo 2T:
- Open the "Magisk" app.
- Open Settings.
- Turn on "Zygist (Beta)" and "Enforce DenyList".
- Exit settings.
- Go to the "Modules" tab.
- Select "Install From Storage".
- Find "safetynet-fix-v2.2.1.zip" and open it.
- Wait until installation of the module is complete.
- Click the "Reboot" button that appears to reboot the phone.
- Once the phone has rebooted, the process is complete and we can move on to installing Android Auto and Google apps as system apps!
STEP 4: Install Android Auto and and Google apps as system apps.

We're ready to install the BusyBox-NDK module. On the Neo 2T:
- Open the "Magisk" app.
- Go to the "Modules" tab.
- Select "Install From Storage".
- Find "busybox-v1.34.1.zip" and open it.
- Wait until installation of the module is complete.
- Click the back button.
We're ready to install the Terminal Systemizer module. On the Neo 2T:
- Go to the "Modules" tab.
- Select "Install From Storage".
- Find "terminal_systemizer_v17.4.1.zip" and open it.
- Wait until installation of the module is complete.
- Click the "Reboot" button to reboot the phone.
Time to get the Google Play Store app. On your PC:
- Download "Google_Play_Store_29.9.16-21.apk" attached to this post.
- Plug the Neo 2T into your PC.
Now, we need to allow file transfers. On the Neo 2T:
- Select "Transfer Files" on the "Use USB to" popup.
Time to send the .apk to the Neo 2T. On your PC:
- Copy the "Google_Play_Store_29.9.16-21.apk" file you downloaded to the "Download" folder on the internal storage of the Neo 2T.
We're ready to install the Google Play Store. On the Neo 2T:
- Open the "Files" app.
- Choose the "APK" option.
- Find "Google_Play_Store_29.9.16-21.apk" and open it.
- Follow the instruction to install the app. You may need to allow installing from the "File Manager" app.
- Once install is finished, launch the app.
We need to install our apps before we can systemize them. On the Neo 2T:
- Open the Google Play Store and sign in.
- Update any apps that have updates available.
- Use the Google Play Store to install Android Auto, Google Assistant, and the Google app.
We need to use ADB to systemize Android Auto and Google Assistant. On your PC:
- Open the folder where you extracted the "ADB_FASTBOOT.zip" (Done previously during Step 1: Unlock your bootloader.)
- Open a command prompt pointing to the extracted files. (The fastest way to do this is to open the folder, then replace the file path with "cmd" end hit enter.)
- Enter this command to check that your phone is detected: adb.exe devices
- You should see your device represented by a long string of numbers and letters followed by "device".
- If you don't see this, or it doesn't say "device", double-check your USB cable or port, and make sure you installed the drivers as instructed previously.
- Enter this command: adb shell
- Have your phone unlocked and at the ready, then enter this command: su
Allow root for ADB Shell. On the Neo 2T:
- Select "Forever" on the superuser request popup for Shell. Click "Grant".
Now we can systemize Android Auto and Google. On your PC:
- Enter this command: systemize
- Type 1 and hit enter to choose "Systemize Installed Apps (Listed)".
- You should see a numbered list of apps after a few seconds of loading. Find the numbers for "Android Auto" and "Google" and type them with a space in between. For example, if you see "1 - Android Auto" and "2 - Google", type 1 2 followed by enter.
- Type 2 and hit enter to choose "/system/priv-app" for the first app.
- Type 2 and hit enter to choose "/system/priv-app" for the second app.
Reboot the phone. On the Neo 2T:
- Hold down the power button until the power actions slider appears.
- Slide up to reboot the phone.
- Once rebooted, Android Auto will soon disappear from your app launcher now that is a system app. This is by design.
- Use the Google Play Store to install "Android Auto for Phone Screens".
- Open the "Android Auto for Phone Screens" app. Complete all setup steps.
- Open the "Android Assistant" app. Complete all setup steps.
- Open the "Google" app. Go to More > Settings > Google Assistant > Hey Google & Voice Match.
- Turn on "Hey Google". Complete all setup steps.
- In the Google Assistant settings in the Google app, you should now be able to turn on "Hey Google" voice activation.
- Hold down the power button until the power actions slider appears.
- Slide up to reboot the phone.

STEP 5: Remove Realme bloatware.

First we need to install an alternative input method, since we will be removing the stock keyboard. On the Neo 2T:
- Use the Google Play Store to install an input method of your choice, such as GBoard.
Now we can run the debloat script. On your PC:
- Plug the Neo 2T into your PC if it is not already.
- Open the folder where you extracted the "ADB_FASTBOOT.zip" (Done previously during Step 1: Unlock your bootloader.)
- Double-click the RMX3357_A14_DEBLOAT_NO_ROOT.bat file to run the non-root debloat script.
- Press Enter to run the script.
- Close the window or press Enter to exit once finished.
We need to use ADB to remove a few system apps. On your PC:
- Open the folder where you extracted the "ADB_FASTBOOT.zip" (Done previously during Step 1: Unlock your bootloader.)
- Open a command prompt pointing to the extracted files. (The fastest way to do this is to open the folder, then replace the file path with "cmd" end hit enter.)
- Enter this command to check that your phone is detected: adb.exe devices
- You should see your device represented by a long string of numbers and letters followed by "device".
- If you don't see this, or it doesn't say "device", double-check your USB cable or port, and make sure you installed the drivers as instructed previously.
- Enter this command: adb shell
- Enter this command: su
- Enter this command: pm uninstall --user 0 com.android.email
- Enter this command: pm uninstall --user 0 com.coloros.safecenter
- Enter this command: pm uninstall --user 0 com.heytap.book
- Enter this command: pm uninstall --user 0 com.heytap.market
- Enter this command: pm uninstall --user 0 com.heytap.themestore
- Enter this command: pm uninstall --user 0 com.nearme.gamecenter
Reboot the phone. On the Neo 2T:
- Hold down the power button until the power actions slider appears.
- Slide up to reboot the phone.
- You're done! Enjoy your debloated phone!

​- If you find yourself needing to force your phone to power off for any reason, on the Neo 2T you must hold Vol+, Vol- and Power at the same time for around 10 seconds.
- The stock messaging app is com.android.mms, otherwise known as Mms.apk. It seemingly cannot be removed without breaking SMS/MMS.
- Removing Breeno will replace it with Google Feed when swiping left on the stock launcher fi the Google app is installed.
- There's a good chance the APN settings the phone chose are incorrect or nonexistent. Double-check them to make sure you have working data and MMS for your SIMs.
- Android Auto forces the phone to 60Hz and locks the settings, even once disconnected. Seems to be a common issue across a bunch of phones. Reboot to fix.
- If an app isn't showing notifications or is otherwise misbehaving:
>>> Make sure the app has been opened at least once since the phone was last powered on or rebooted.

Unfortunately there is no global ROM for the GT Neo 2T, I specifically asked Realme and they said they have no plans to release one.

Haven't had any issues with notifications myself. I'd check these:
- Make sure the app has been opened at least once since the phone was last powered on or rebooted.
- Check that notifications are enabled in Settings > Notifications & Status Bar > Manage Notifications > [Your App].
- If that doesn't help, try allowing background activity in Settings > Battery > App Battery Management > [Your App].
- Lastly, you can disable battery optimization for an app in Settings > Battery > More Battery Settings > Optimize Battery Use > [Your App].
Who faced such a (another) problem, let's say I have a working chat in a telegram, and today I read it through a smart watch while I was busy, but noticed that if there are more than 5+ unread notifications in the chat, then it stops even making a sound that something new has come, is there a way to treat this? and a similar story with viber as well. Unfortunately I'm not sure why that might be happening. I don't have a smartwatch and I don't use Telegram or Viber. I can tell you that Slack and Wyze both keep giving me notifications well after 5 of them. Maybe someone else might know.
My Neo 2T just arrived and upon further inspection, seemed to be preinstalled with Indian firmware by the seller which has Google Play Services and the languages I needed. Posted a screenshot of build number in case it helps anyone.
If anyone knows how to backup my ROM file, I'm willing to try and share it for everyone.
Edit: Out of ideas. MTK Droid Tool reports "Unknown ROM structure, backup NOT possible!"

As much as I'd love to find some sort of global ROM for this phone, that looks identical to my build number etc. when I first got the phone and probably the China ROM. Latest now is A14. When I asked, Realme was pretty adamant that this phone will never see a global ROM. They had also installed Google Play and a long list of languages for me before shipping, but these just bolt on to the stock China ROM.
I'm not sure how to tell 100% if it's actually the China ROM or not, but I'd give "Hey Google" a try, or Android Auto if you have an AA compatible vehicle. Would also be curious to know if your phone came with a bunch of bloatware apps and Breeno.
As for backing up, SP Tools is what worked for me. I recommend taking a proper backup ASAP just in case something goes wrong later. That said, I'm not sure how to anonymize the files it spits out (empty data partition, remove your IMEI etc) so it's safe to share.
I can confirm that "Hey Google" works, no chinese apps and breeno too. FYI, the bootloader was already unlocked when I got the phone. I noticed the Region defaulted to India so it's probably a custom firmware tailored to this phone. The box and manuals were chinese though.
As for the SP Flash Tool, how do I load the DA? This error appears after selecting the scatter file and clicking readback.

Oh wow. A proper global ROM for this phone would be amazing. I'll see if I can figure out how to turn a backup into something flashable. In the meantime I think I'm going to email Realme again and see if their tune has changed.
Would it be possible to share where you bought the phone? I got mine from "realme Direct Store" on AliExpress.
I bought it from a reseller in shopee malaysia. I've asked the seller for the source to no avail, they just said it was the supplier who installed the rom.
I sent Realme an email directly, hopefully I get a more favorable answer this time. Will update if I hear anything. My AndroidFileHost account finally got upload perms so if I manage to get the ROM out of them it'll be easy to share.
Managed to take a proper backup after reading the guide by mahotlov linked in your thread. Just let me know which files you'd need anytime and I'd be willing to share.
Edit: Wifi and bluetooth no longer works after flashing your magisk.img & vbmeta.img. Restored my backup and it works again, interesting
I have a DM from someone else who also has an India A13 ROM shipped with their Neo 2T, so this is definitely a thing, but Realme responded to me yesterday and is still claiming it doesn't exist. They are having similar issues with the China ROM I uploaded breaking things. I seriously hope there aren't multiple hardware versions under the RMX3357 model number messing everything up.
As for your backup, I think it should be possible to just pick some of the files from your backup and use them to replace the matching .img file in the China ROM upload. This is assuming the partition structure and other things are the same and only the contents of the partitions are different (which it should be, but you never know). Only thing I'm not 100% sure on is which partitions would be safe to share and which ones might have personal info like IMEI or bits of your data partition.

I would advise against this @dewidoj461. One of those ROMs has your IMEI info in it, and if you had been using the phone before your backup there is likely personal info somewhere too, especially if SIMs were installed. Maybe the intent here is not malicious but that user account is brand new and you would absolutely be giving sensitive information by supplying your full backup.
EDIT: I'm also suspicious about that RAR. The scatter file is only 54kb while that RAR is 2.1MB.

How To Guide [GUIDE] Unbrick Lenovo Y700 tablet

Windows guide, might work for other aswell.
I finally solved my problem with my Lenovo Y700 tablet being stuck in bootloop mode due to trying to flash Magisk boot with a mismatched firmware version. This resulted in the UI constantly crashing, and I could not connect to Wi-Fi, and other problems...
I tried flashing back to stock with QFIL, which put the device in a bootloop. I will explain why later on.
I also lost recovery mode due to trying to solve the problem, and now I was stuck with either showing the bootloader screen, or restarting the tablet, which brought me back to the bootloader.
So the tablet was now genuinely useless. This is what I did to bring back the stock ROM and later flash to crDroid 8.10.
Flashing boot.img, system.img or recovery.img was no luck.
First off, there is no need to have unlocked "USB debugging" before your tablet bricked.
Second, you don't need to have your "sn.img" file from Lenovo, you can unlock the bootloader using fastboot commands.
Fastboot commands works on the bootloader screen, without having ADB connection.
Start by downloading these four files:
Platform tools r33.0.2
QPST_2.7.496
Qualcomm_USB_Driver_v1.0
Lenovo Y700 tablet stock ROM
We'll start by unlocking your bootloader. You can do this from the bootloader screen. If you for some reason can enter recovery mode, enter fastboot.
1. Connect your tablet to your PC.
2. Open a terminal windows in the ADB folder. On Windows 11 this can be done by right-clicking inside the ADB folder and select "Open in terminal". If you don't have that option, try Shift + Right-click. If that doesn't work, you can always start the terminal by pressing Win + R, and type in "cmd" without citations. Now you have to navigate to your ADB folder by typing

cd (here you'll type in the location of your ADB folder)
Without the brackets.
3. When located, type in

fastboot devices
You should see your tablet in the list.
If not, try using another cable or USB port on your PC.
4. Now type in

5. Now you can start by installing the programs on your PC, QTPS, Qualcomm driver and platform tools.

This will help with Sahara errors in QFIL.
7. Open QFIL from your QTPS bin folder, it installs with QTPS. Don't worry if it shows "No Port Available", we'll get to that. Your configuration should look like this:

Hit "Load XML", and navigate to your QTPS bin folder. Now, select ALL of the "rawprogram" files (my first mistake, I only selected the "rawprogram_unsparse0.xml" file on first flash)
In the next window, select ALL of the "patch" files (my second mistake, I only selected the "patch0.xml file" on first flash).
Without doing this, you will only flash a portion of the ROM, and not all of the partitions needed.
8. Now it's time to reboot you tablet into EDL mode to be able to flash. Start your tablet by pressing VolUp + Power button.
If you can't turn off your tablet when connected to PC, just select "Power off", and just hold the VolUp button as soon as the device vibrates and reboots, keep holding until the screen flickers and turns off.
9. Now QFIL should detect the Qualcomm 9008 port. If not, hit "Select Port" and select the Qualcomm 9008 port.
10. Hit the now available "Download" button, and the flashing should begin. Allow it to run its course, and it should reboot the tablet when done. Might take a while.
If flashing won't start properly, you might have waited too long between entering EDL mode and hitting the "Download" button.
If so, disconnect your device, which might now be "dead".
Don't worry, you can fix this be holding VolUp + VolDown + Power button for a long time, say about a minute to be sure. Release the Volume keys some second before releasing the Power button.
Hit the power button again, and the tablet should boot to bootloader screen again.
Repeat the steps to enter EDL mode, and now hit the "Download" button in QFIL when it becomes available, don't wait too long.
You're done! ​I recommend opening "Settings", enable "Developer" option, by pressing the "Build number" on the "About tablet" screen repeatedly until a pop-up appears saying "You are now a developer".
Open "Developer options" and hit "Enable USB debugging", it will allow you to run ADB commands from your platform tools folder.
If you want, you can again open the terminal in the platform tools folder and type

Now you can uncheck the "OEM unlocking" in the "Developer options" which should let you get OTA updates when available.

I got one with the "GLOBAL ROM" which miss a lot of feature so I follow this tutorial to flash the stock rom and works like a charm.
The only question is why I can't get any OTA?
Due to te unlocked bootloader?
I tried to relock it but when it's done it say "device corrupted" on bootup so I had to unlock again and reflash all again.

Yes, this one is weird. Some people are able to lock it, and some are not.
To my understanding you need to lock it to get OTA's. It's still possible to update, though, through downloading the newer update and installing the update in .zip format on stock ROM.
Is possible to find the update package? I find 2 in the other y700 thread but they are incremental from an above version of mine and won’t install
Also searched a day on Chinese forum but no succes…

hi, in my case after fresh flash to zui 13 official i can use ota to zui 14 even the tablet in unlocked state, someone in xiaoxin pad pro thread suggested using vpn 'returness' set to china (shanghai 11) i think... and ota did works, zui 14 is about 3 half gig so i ended up using link from y700 thread to install manually
Just for anyone else having trouble getting into EDL mode (my Y700 wasn't bricked, I just wanted to restore stock rom):
When the tablet is running normally, go to developer options, enable USB debugging, then go to the platform-tools folder on your PC and open a command prompt there, then type "adb reboot edl". Then you'll see the "Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 (COMxx)" Port under Ports in Device Manager.
To re-lock, I believe you can use these instructions. The command "fastboot flashing lock" brought up the menu on the Y700 screen to re-lock, but I didn't do it because I didn't want to delete my user data (I'd just spent time setting up all my apps!)
When I was in fastboot, the tablet was showing up with an exclamation point and just called, "Android device" in Device manager, I used the drivers from here to get it to show up as "Android Bootloader Interface".
Don't do what I just wrote!! I did it and now I'm stuck and it won't boot, and I can't get to EDL mode.
I don't have time to work on it now but my tablet is effectively bricked.
I'm in a bootloop to the fastboot screen, and it shows up in Device Manager as "Android Bootloader Interface". I can't flash in QFIL as described above because it just says "No Port Available". I can't get to EDL mode as I did before because I can't boot the tablet as usual to enter the "adb reboot edl" command.
"adb devices" doesn't show the Y700.
Can anyone tell me how to get to EDL mode when I can't get adb to work?

That's what happened to me! How did you get it back into EDL mode after unlocking?
Mine isn't showing the Qualcomm device under Ports in Device Manager anymore, so I can't get the port to show in QFIL!!
Got it to work getting to EDL mode, phew!

This got the Qualcomm port to show up again.
So I'm now running the stock rom but still unlocked so no OTA. What a waste of time that was.
Hoping someone can work out how to re-lock.

hi, in my case after fresh flash to zui 13 official i can use ota to zui 14 even the tablet in unlocked state, someone in xiaoxin pad pro thread suggested using vpn 'returness' set to china (shanghai 11) i think... and ota did works, zui 14 is about 3 half gig so i ended up using link from y700 thread to install manually

you have to use Chinese vpn, it’s not because of unlocked booloader, I will link you the one I used later, btw no need to relock bootloader, for getting ota

Haha, maybe I should read more of the comments before assuming things.
Hic, I just got a second hand Y700, it had an original Zui 13 chinese rom, and I started to OTA update upto ZUI 14. Then the Google Play disappeared, also the PC mode. I tried to downgrade to ZUI 13 with this guide WITHOUT enabling usb debugging nor oem unlock. The flashing process succeeded, but when the tablet reboots, it shows for the first time "Your device is corrupt, It can't be trusted and will not boot", after that keeps showing bootloader menu.
Please help me what to do from this step?
I'm in a different state from others here, I think; my Y700 appears to be totally bricked. It's plugged in to charge and nothing's happening at all. I originally installed crDroid on it, but ran into Widevine issues and was going to revert. I don't remember the last steps I took on it (it was a month or so ago), but when I picked it up again a few days ago, turning it on showed only a black screen (only detectable by seeing the backlight), so I let it discharge the battery entirely planning to try and fix it via reflash later. Now, however, it's doing... nothing.
I'm going to let it charge overnight and see if that changes anything, but if anybody has ideas what might have happened or things to try to get out of this, I'd appreciate it!
Hi, I'm stuck after flashing the Chinese stock rom on my legion y700. I was first successful except for upgrades which were proposed and installed but wouldn't show after reboot. I decided to flash again hoping that would solve the problem. But now my tablet remains in EDM mode and won't start. The final message in Qfil was 'download successful'. It is fully charged
Any idea on how to solve this issue?
I am in yet another state. I only run Linux (Mint 21), and have not been able to get any version of wine working, so I cannot use QPST or QFIL (windows .exe's). I CAN access my Y700 via adb or fastboot, and it is now unlocked. It was unsealed when it arrived, but does NOT have any google stuff on it.
I have downloaded all of the components needed from apkmirror, and followed instructions in the Y700 topic to activate them, to no avail.
Sadly, since I do not read Chinese, and the use requirement needs google, it might as well be a brick.
Further, despite more than 40 years doing technical support on all sorts of computers, I have never yet flashed an android device. Can it be done from adb or fastboot? If so, how do I specify which partition to flash? Does anyone have a guide to help me get started? I wish to put cdroid on it, do I use the .xz file or extract the .img?
OK, I've just found something I missed, but it doesn't work for me. My terminal is in the same folder as the .img

I finally solved my problem with my Lenovo Y700 tablet being stuck in bootloop mode due to trying to flash Magisk boot with a mismatched firmware version. This resulted in the UI constantly crashing, and I could not connect to Wi-Fi, and other problems...
I tried flashing back to stock with QFIL, which put the device in a bootloop. I will explain why later on.
I also lost recovery mode due to trying to solve the problem, and now I was stuck with either showing the bootloader screen, or restarting the tablet, which brought me back to the bootloader.
So the tablet was now genuinely useless. This is what I did to bring back the stock ROM and later flash to crDroid 8.10.
Flashing boot.img, system.img or recovery.img was no luck.
First off, there is no need to have unlocked "USB debugging" before your tablet bricked.
Second, you don't need to have your "sn.img" file from Lenovo, you can unlock the bootloader using fastboot commands.
Fastboot commands works on the bootloader screen, without having ADB connection.
Start by downloading these four files:
Platform tools r33.0.2
QPST_2.7.496
Qualcomm_USB_Driver_v1.0
Lenovo Y700 tablet stock ROM
We'll start by unlocking your bootloader. You can do this from the bootloader screen. If you for some reason can enter recovery mode, enter fastboot.
1. Connect your tablet to your PC.
2. Open a terminal windows in the ADB folder. On Windows 11 this can be done by right-clicking inside the ADB folder and select "Open in terminal". If you don't have that option, try Shift + Right-click. If that doesn't work, you can always start the terminal by pressing Win + R, and type in "cmd" without citations. Now you have to navigate to your ADB folder by typing

cd (here you'll type in the location of your ADB folder)
Without the brackets.
3. When located, type in

You should see your tablet in the list.
If not, try using another cable or USB port on your PC.
4. Now type in

fastboot oem unlock-go
Restart your tablet, and it should now say "unlocked" under "DEVICE STATE" in the bootloader.
5. Now you can start by installing the programs on your PC, QTPS, Qualcomm driver and platform tools.
6. Extract ALL files from your stock ROM to the "bin" folder in QTPS location (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Qualcomm\QPST).
This will help with Sahara errors in QFIL.
7. Open QFIL from your QTPS bin folder, it installs with QTPS. Don't worry if it shows "No Port Available", we'll get to that. Your configuration should look like this:

Don't worry about the "status" window.
Hit "browse" in the "Programmer Path" window, and navigate to your QTPS bin folder. Select "prog_firehose_ddr.elf"
Hit "Load XML", and navigate to your QTPS bin folder. Now, select ALL of the "rawprogram" files (my first mistake, I only selected the "rawprogram_unsparse0.xml" file on first flash)
In the next window, select ALL of the "patch" files (my second mistake, I only selected the "patch0.xml file" on first flash).
Without doing this, you will only flash a portion of the ROM, and not all of the partitions needed.
8. Now it's time to reboot you tablet into EDL mode to be able to flash. Start your tablet by pressing VolUp + Power button.
If you can't turn off your tablet when connected to PC, just select "Power off", and just hold the VolUp button as soon as the device vibrates and reboots, keep holding until the screen flickers and turns off.
9. Now QFIL should detect the Qualcomm 9008 port. If not, hit "Select Port" and select the Qualcomm 9008 port.
10. Hit the now available "Download" button, and the flashing should begin. Allow it to run its course, and it should reboot the tablet when done. Might take a while.
If flashing won't start properly, you might have waited too long between entering EDL mode and hitting the "Download" button.
If so, disconnect your device, which might now be "dead".
Don't worry, you can fix this be holding VolUp + VolDown + Power button for a long time, say about a minute to be sure. Release the Volume keys some second before releasing the Power button.
Hit the power button again, and the tablet should boot to bootloader screen again.
Repeat the steps to enter EDL mode, and now hit the "Download" button in QFIL when it becomes available, don't wait too long.
You're done! ​I recommend opening "Settings", enable "Developer" option, by pressing the "Build number" on the "About tablet" screen repeatedly until a pop-up appears saying "You are now a developer".
Open "Developer options" and hit "Enable USB debugging", it will allow you to run ADB commands from your platform tools folder.
If you want, you can again open the terminal in the platform tools folder and type

adb devices
It should now show your device in the list.
Now you can uncheck the "OEM unlocking" in the "Developer options" which should let you get OTA updates when available.
There are plenty of guides on how to flash different GSI's like crDroid, so I won't cover that here.

A lot of this does not seem to work on Linux (Mint 20.3).
fastboot flashing unlock
worked for me, and while I have no problem getting into recovery or fastboot modes on my Y700, I never see anything I recognize as EDL. On a machine with 'wine' installed and working, QTSP installs and appears to run OK, as also does QFIL. I can select the "rawprogram" and "patch" files OK, but it cannot find a port.
Both adb devices and fastboot devices report the correct device when it is in the appropriate mode, and
fastboot flash system crDroid-8.10-arm64_bgN-Unofficial.img appears to have successfully flashed correctly, but it is still unable to communicate with Google servers. All good (tear hair out type) fun!
