Question How to fix Ready For not responding/lagging when trackpad is on (X30 Pro) - Motorola Edge 30 Ultra / Motorola Moto X30 Pro

If you hide the Navigation Bar under Gesture Settings, Ready For will hang the whole phone if the trackpad is shown when using either HDMI out or miracast wirelessly. I think this only affects X30 Pro since the global version does not allow hiding the Navigation Bar yet. (probably due to this bug?)

Navigation Bar and Keyboard

I've noticed on the V30 that the navigation bar is hidden when the keyboard (I believe Gboard) is being used, and I'm wondering if there's a way to get that to happen on the note. I've already enabled full immersive mode, and hidden the nav bar except when it's being used, yet it shows back up when I'm using the keyboard.
LMAO

What's the safest way to remove the Android 9 Navigation bar completely NON-ROOT

After the update to Android Pie, I realized I can't hide the Navigation bar anymore (in order to use hand gestures using "One Hand Operation +) .
I was able to at least apply ADB immersive mode to all my apps. However, that doesnt get rid of the navigation bar on my home screen.
I was hoping someone can suggest a good supplemental app that specifically focuses on removing the navigation buttons from my home screen. I've tried a couple Nav bar removal apps. However, they seem to still focus on immersive mode and adding white lists to immersive mode only.
I would appreciate any useful suggestions.
You should be able to hide navigation bar simply by changing to full screen gestures in Settings. If it doesn't it could due to earlier customisation. See if you can revert it back to default. Also wipe cache partition helps with issue after the updates
Yep, just enable full screen gestures and the nav bar will be gone and stay gone
Thanks. Yes, that's the first thing I did, until I quickly realized that I didn't like the native full-screen gestures capabilities of Pie. One Hand Operation + does a MUCH better job for gestures IMO.

Download full screen gestures by xda, give it adb permission and you can safely hide the nav bar (make sure to have it enabled first). Hope it helps
Thanks. The full-screen gestures app from XDA doesnt support lanscape mode, at least when I tried it. That's why I switched to One Hand Operation +" which does gestures very well. I'm already using the ADB to enable immersive mode to auto-hide the navigation bar.

I agree. I use full screen gestures to hide nav bar but only actually use One Hand Operation+ for gestures
I'm glad you brought that up. This is exactly what i attempted to do. However, for some reason, Pie Full-Screen gestures will break One Hand Operations + "Right handle" in landscape mode after enabling it for a little while. It looks like a conflict of some kind.
Could you please test One Hand Operations + in Landscape mode WHILE Pie Full-screen gestures is also enabled? The right handle stops working for after a little while of use. I really wish I could figure out a way for both of them to run without conflicts in Landscape mode.
I dont think this happens in One Hand Operations Portrait mode.

Huh. You are right. I almost never use landscape so hadn't noticed ...
Weird issue. Will hooefully be fixed in a future version of OHO+
Thanks for confirming. I don't think I can count on OHO+ ever fixing this bug... since there's no good way to report this bug to the developers.
I probably would be okay with using the native Pie fullscreen gestures. However, oddly it doesn't have haptic feedback for some reason.

You can also try the oneplus gestures app on the play store, you give it adb permission, hide the nav bar, but at the same time keep the oneplus gestures disabled, I'm sure it can work for you
Thanks for the tip. The One + Gestures app looks very similar to the XDA Navigation Gestures app.
There's also an app on the Play Store called, Hide Navigation Bar that ONLY hides the navigation bar using the same technique via ADB without any extra features I won't use.
Does anyone have any experience using the above apps' technique via ADB to hide the Navigation bar on the Note 9? To be honest, I'm a little nervous to try this method to hide the Navigation bar; since there are warnings of unpredictable results for certain features on Samsung hardware... like hiding the last row of pixels of the Navigation bar. It would be good to know from someone who's already tried this on their Note 9 what issues to expect. Also, I'm curious if there's any chance I could irreversibly break an OS component on my phone.
EDIT: I finally tried Hide Navigation Bar. It worked perfectly on my Note 9. I think it might be the only app that hides the navigation bar completely WITHOUT trying to add it's own gesture support. this allows me to use my favorite gestures app, One Hand Operation + (which uses edge gestures, even in landscape, instead of trying to do it the way iphone does).
The only minor issue is that the area that used to be the navigation bar cannot be used for app icons on the home screen. However, in applications themselves, that area is completely useable.

Persistant Nav Bar

Hi,
I'm currently searching for a way to make my S10's navigation bar persistant in every app. (also in fullscreen apps)
If you watch a youtube video or play a game on a device without hardware keys its not possible anymore to switch instantly.
When i remember how easy and fast it was on my s7 edge, a single click from everywhere got me back on my homescreen and a double tap on the menu button switched to the last app.
In my S10's settings i found something in setting/display/navigationbar but the gestures are not really an replacement. (especially when you use your phone with one hand)
I don't know how bad screen burnin is when i have the bar on the whole time but if the buttons where black it would not be a problem i think?
cheers

Question Third Party Launcher + Gestures

Hi everyone,
trying on MIUI 12.5 to enable Microsoft Launcher with Gestures instead of the 3 Bar Bottom Navigation.
Installed "MyGestures" App - which enables gestures - fine.
But still having the 3 buttons bar on the bottom.
Have tried FNG which is recommended by many people, but it only hides the 3 bar bottom - still having a black bar.
Some months ago (before I wiped my phone) I have enabled the gestures in the MIUI menu, and it hid the navigation bar.
But now I get the following chinese info (seems like a message to activate the default launcher, as it gets enabled after right clicking the button)
see screenshot.
Any idea how to activate it without auto starting default launcher?
well for anyone with the same problem, I got a workaround which is quite embarrasing but at least it works to remove the 3-bar navigation.
You need the "LADB" application from Playstore which sadly costs some money.
Then in short:
1. Developer Options - > Wireless ADB enable
2. start LADB and connect it (you have to use dual window feature, because otherwise the port+pin will change)
you need to do this once, after setting up - it will connect next time automatically.
3. insert in LADB command line: settings put global force_fsg_nav_bar 1
It works good. But you have to do it again after a reboot.

Question How to get rid of Nav Bar on Android 11, MIUI 12.5.8 with NOVA Launcher

Hi,
I know this is a topic that has come a few times. I've been researching this for hours, but I'm at my end's wits. If anyone can solve it, I'd be grateful!
Phone: Redmi Note 10 Pro
My setup: NOVA LAUNCHER
MIUI: 12.5.8
Android 11
FNG app (Fluid Navigation Gestures)
My goal: to have navigation gestures with Nova Launcher without the bottom Android Nav Bar
I am aware that since Android 11, they've blocked the usage of system gestures when using custom launchers (why they did that, I still don't understand, but that's irrelevant.) Up until last night when MIUI updated itself automatically, my current config was working:
NOVA + FNG + switch system settings from BUTTONS to GESTURES.
This was working fine: in the phone settings switching to "GESTURES" would hide the bottom navigation button bar, and FNG would be activating the gestures in place of the system.
But last night's MIUI update now increased the level of difficulty. It is now impossible in the phone settings to select GESTURES when a custom launcher is active. When NOVA is the selected default launcher, tapping on GESTURES in system settings gives this message: "Can't use full screen gestures with third party launchers. Switch to the system launcher and turn on full screen gestures?". Tapping OK will disable NOVA and activate full screen gestures.
So, I'm now stuck with BUTTONS NAV BAR, which not only takes real estate space on the screen, but is just damn annoying.
I have tried using ABD command I found in another thread to hide the Buttons Nav Bar:
adb shell pm grant com.fb.fluid android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
But this does not work. I rebooted and all, but buttons are still there.
I do not wish to root the phone because I have never done it in the past, and somehow I fear it would introduce security issues. So I'm desperately trying to find another solution to hide the buttons nav bar.
Any idea?
I have to say, I really do not understand why they are forcing people to use stock launcher with gestures. Why is it a problem that custom launchers use system gestures in the first place? One reason I always enjoyed Android over iPhone is the fact that the system was more open compared to Apple who always made their system so closed and contrived. But I have to say that lately, I have found Android to be more and more annoying when it comes to customization.

nope. it doesnt work.
let me know if u guyz find a solution for stock miui.

I think so too... Because like i explained in my original message I normally was able to hide the nav bar by simply choosing "gestures" in the phone settings, but then one update happened and it became impossible to use that trick anymore. Since then, I have tried ABD command with FNG gesture app and that didn't work either. And now ABD command did not work with Vivid App.
So strange that they make it so hard to use gestures and hide nav bar when we use a third party launcher. Why don't they want us to use a third party launcher? It's the whole point of Android to be able to customize it... This is pretty crazy.

Hi, this helped me: by simply installing this zip in TWRP => TWRP_Hide_Navigation_Bar_v1.0.zip
INFO: Installing the zip again will unhide the navigation bar (revert the change).
EDIT: My zip (to install in TWRP) doesn't work for devices shipped with Android 10(+). Workaround: Magisk! Install Magisk and this Magisk module => Hide_Navigation_Bar_v1.0-Magisk.zip
